WND Weekly: About as civil as a prison riot

© 2011

Politicians, by their very nature, are to some extent dishonest. But even using that low bar of opinion, liberal politicians are two steps below abominable. When the tea parties were formed two years ago, liberals, beginning with Obama, condemned us, mocked us and called us names – some of them calling us “tea baggers” after a homosexual act. Nancy Pelosi, following the liberal talking-point lies, accused us of being pawns bought and paid for by the rich. But today, these same people have warm and fuzzy feelings over the Wall Street protesters.

The protesters who are blocking and demonstrating on Wall Street and in cities across the nation are about as civil as a prison riot. They are a transpicuous example of a culture that has been schooled to condemn corporate America and the capitalist free-market system while demanding that government solve their grievances. They are behaving like the protesters and demonstrators of the 1960s.

Tea-party rallies are often described as picnics with speakers – and that is a very accurate description. At tea-party events there isn’t crude vulgar language; there are no people defecating in the streets, disrupting services, overturning and dumping trash containers and dumpsters; and there’s no property damage. Show me a tea-party rally where ralliers have been arrested – for that matter, show me a tea party where there is anything more than a cursory police presence.

Tea-party participants in the District of Columbia left the area cleaner than when they arrived. The people not only picked up after themselves, but they picked up trash that was there when they arrived. Tea-party groups have policed their ranks. The Wall Street protesters may have started out with questionably good intentions, but they immediately became the dominion of unions and Socialist Party members – some believed to belong to ACORN and other known anarchist groups. They have been enjoined by those paying people to protest who not only cannot read the signs they’re carrying, but cannot speak English. A question Obama and Pelosi might answer is, if tea-party rallies are comprised of extremist Christians, racists and terrorists – as they claim – why didn’t those elements enjoin us?

I have spoken at tea parties and I have attended them. They are rallies that housewives, grandmothers and mothers with children attend. The harshest threat heard is that we are committed to opposing increased taxes, government expansion, stimulus packages, government encroachment into our daily lives and electing like-minded representatives.
Tea-party people have jobs. When we attend a rally it’s at our own expense. If we arrive on a bus, it’s because we’ve pooled our personal resources to get a group rate. We aren’t bussed in by a union, nor are we gathered up at homeless shelters, soup kitchens or picked up off the street and given $5, a brown bag lunch, a sign, and told what to do and shout.

For Obama, Pelosi and other liberals to condemn the tea party and applaud the anarchy taking place is emblematic of their betise. For Obama to say they’re doing the right thing and that they’re frustrated because of banks and Wall Street, and because Republicans won’t pass his jobs bill, makes him as detestable as their actions are.

A blind person can see the duplicity of the selective approval Obama and liberals employ. Liberals have a propensity for embracing debauchery, disruption and evil, while condemning that which is civil and good. They attacked Sarah Palin as being out of touch because Palin supports stay-at-home mothers, is pro-life, and she supports her husband from a godly perspective. Liberals, on the other hand, support Whoopi Goldberg who brags about the number of abortions she has had. Liberals support open homosexuality and laws that forbid parents knowing that their 12-year-old daughters may be planning to have an abortion.

Liberals condemn children giving thanks for their food at a public school lunch table, but support homosexuals teaching sensitivity and how to put condoms on bananas, while twisting normal childhood thoughts/curiosity by telling them they’re probably homosexual.
Liberals support murderers like Stanley “Tookie” Williams and convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, but curse Justice Clarence Thomas and call Herman Cain an “Oreo cookie.” They condemned Bush for Iraq, but their silence is deafening concerning Obama’s invasion of Libya.

And now we have virulent anarchists causing already financially burdened cities to absorb the cost of their destructive actions. They should be looking for work and/or creating their own opportunities. This is an opportunity for Obama to show leadership, but he chooses instead to deflect their behavior as the fault of banks and Wall Street.

If these protesters had even a toehold in reality, they would be protesting the White House and Congress; if they think they’re having it rough now, they should think about what it’s going to be like if we cannot defeat Obamacare.

The current sitting president has all the characteristics of a tyrant and should be indicted for treasonist behavior. One has to stop and wonder how this could have happened in 21st Century America. Very reminiscent of Germany in the 1930′s. I’m afraid it’s going to get a lot worse around here before it gets better.

curt canak: he should have been impeached long ago…if repubs let him off the hook pursuant to his involvement in solyndra and other questionably handed taxpayer bailouts and loans…

RE-DO The Sedition Act of 1918 (Pub. L. No. 65-150, 40 Stat. 553, enacted May 16, 1918) was an Act of the United States Congress that extended the Espionage Act of 1917 to cover a broader range of offenses, notably speech and the expression of opinion that cast the government or the war effort in a negative light or interfered with the sale of government bonds. One historian of American civil liberties has called it “the nation’s most extreme antispeech legislation.”[1]
It forbade the use of “disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language” about the United States government, its flag, or its armed forces or that caused others to view the American government or its institutions with contempt. Those convicted under the act generally received sentences of imprisonment for 5 to 20 years.[2] The act also allowed the Postmaster General to refuse to deliver mail that met those same standards for punishable speech or opinion. It applied only to times “when the United States is in war.”[3] It was repealed on December 13, 1920.[4]

Though the legislation enacted in 1918 is commonly called the Sedition Act, it was actually a set of amendments to the Espionage Act.[5] Therefore many studies of the Espionage Act and the Sedition Act find it difficult to report about the two “acts” separately. For example, one historian reports that “some fifteen hundred prosecutions were carried out under the Espionage and Sedition Acts, resulting in more than a thousand convictions.”[6] Court decisions do not use the shorthand term Sedition Act, but the correct legal term for the law, the Espionage Act, whether as originally enacted or as amended in 1918.

Marching in the streets during time of war puts stress on our soldiers and aids and comforts the enemy. It is seditious behavior.
Targeting the rich to terrorize is illegal. It traumatizes the children of the rich and its child endangerment. Having a map to their homes printed and publicized on the streets is invasion of privacy. Isn’t there any rich people with lawyers in any of the cities under siege able to press charges.

Hub: I understand your point….but we need to be able to spk out against government…keep in mind john mccain tried to silence us…and thks to george bush it wrk’d after the scotus failed to act in our defense…but burning the flag and are protected rights of free speech and freedom of expression…I think those who do same should be horsewhipped in the streets and have it broadcast on c-span…but that said I would and will fight for their right to do same…because the moment we silence them there will be worse than they coming after us…

I find it interesting that there are a pile of white haired seniors sitting among these protesters. One has to presume that they are parents or grandparents of the kids. Want to let you know that Allentown originally said no to the useful idiots but has now indicated that it will be alright to protest in what was at one time known as the Queen City here in the Lehigh Valley.

chris miller: takes pictures and let me know how that works out…after all it is allentown…

  4. Dena October 11, 2011 at 1:43 pm #

I read somewhere than the splinter groups don’t have a clear leader, don’t have a clear message, and most aren’t sure what they are doing other than having time off work or something to occupy them while out of work! Many in the protests are there an assortment of causes such as being against animal cruelty, pro-abortion on demand, etc.

History repeats itself here. To very loosely paraphrase one of Obummer’s most reverend idols, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, “He who controls the news papers and controls the masses controls the country.” Looks to me like another of history’s lessons being ignored or misunderstood, thanks, in part, to the socialist and feminist National Education Association, which educates “the masses” (dumb asses? You decide.) This is a carbon copy of what happened in Czarist Russia in the early 20th century, just on a far smaller scale. Sad that no one seems to be able to connect the dots.

Except there was no Internet and there was no Fox News in Lenin’s time. Although, it can be said that Fox News is slowly succumbing to the MSM peer pressure.

Re: the picture you posted along with your great take on the subject, why is he wearing his “wedding ring” ? on his right hand? As I recall he didn’t wear one for a while sparking comments, the answer was supposedly it needed repair or something.

M, About the ring,I really don’t care, it’s trivia…We are in SO much trouble all around,it’s hard to grasp. God bless you, and God bless the country.

Once again Mychal you have said it perfectly. We, the silent majority, are getting tired of this and are starting to wake up. The reason we are the silent majority is BECAUSE WE ARE BUSY WORKING AND SUPPORTING OUR FAMILIES. Mychal, may I give the web address for the 53%ers? It is us fighting back. The name derives from those of us (53%) that pay the real taxes in this country and believe in hard work and personal responsibility. I think it is a message that really needs to spread.

Please take a look at these people…..http://the53.tumblr.com/

This is a small movement for now, however we need to spread the word that this is the thinking of the vast majority of America.

        Thank you Mr. Massie

I don’t think they are as interested in some cause they claim to be promoting as they are in looking cool by attempting to champion something they know nothing about. Of course they have the blessing of Obama, unions, liberals, the entitlement crowd, democrats in general, and Muslims everywhere just to name a few. Many have been paid, many cannot read the signs they have been paid to carry and many just enjoy causing chaos.

    • Mychal October 11, 2011 at 11:01 pm #

tony thannisch: another example of radicals doing what they do best…worst thing is that sooner or later we’ll see media starting to play them up as heroes…then when its over they’ll go have new generation to take over classrooms….

The unwashed and the unemployed and George Soros aree all reacting to all of the rhetorical demagoguery perpetrated by one Barack Hussien Obama. For almost three years he has been blasting
Wall Street, banks, millionaires, billionaires and gthe meddical profession.

When you have such negativity some people steart to believe the garbage Obama is selling. To me it is very telling that Obama is “empathetic” to the cause of these mobs and Nancy Pelosi sound almost orgaasmic when speaking of the “cause”
    .
No signs of any leadership has beeen shown by Obama and Pelosi on the issue. It is about time those3 two recognize their responsibilty is to all Americans. Oviously I am dreaming and obsessing that would happen/

What’s to keep some ‘Hitler’ type speaker from inflamming these crowds, thereby presenting an opening for a marshall law typ event with suspension of many rights…and elections? A very near reality with what’s already happaned around the world…Unintended cosequences? or intended? Love to hear your views.

Bad people do bad things. They litter, they destroy, and they hurt other people. Ironic isn’t it, how they claim to be doing this under the disguise of helping people and saving the planet?

kelso: no question they’re bad people…

  16. Julie October 11, 2011 at 10:34 am #

I agree whole heartedly! My husband and I are waiting to see when the death of a citizen occurs as we believe this is what’s next. When a crowd is gathered led by “I am here for my own benefit”, human beings tend to get ugly when results don’t take place the way they want them to.

The Tea Party gatherings are also speaking with one voice. The members have a unified message. The protestgroups gathering around the country are all over the board with their messages and will begin to unravel.

    • Mychal October 11, 2011 at 11:47 pm #

julie: these people are pawns and the majority of them have no clue that they are…

Thank you, as always, for your clear commentary and no holds barred opinion. I believe that “corporate America” is the democratic party’s “boogeyman” and they are trying to pull the boogeyman out of the closet to scare everyone into action against the “evil empire”. I participated in a Labor Day parade with the Tea Party in Naperville, Illinois. We were told ahead of time that we would not be allowed to march if we carried signs, wore any slogans or did anything else to state our opinion by the parade organizers, for fear of “offending” someone. We just wore red, white and blue. Then it was reported in the local paper that the Tea Party section of the parade was chanting anti abortion slogans. This was UNTRUE, but I guess is needed to create bad will toward the Tea Party……
