Dan Bubalo: As Punctual as the Atomic Clock

Trench warfare and crocodiles are rarely mentioned in the same sentence, and with even less frequency when mapping political terrain, but with a deliberate and purposeful ignobility emanating from the Oval Office one must forage along a muddy path for answers instead of analyzing the landscape from the comfort of the rails, and presently the trail leads to a slurry.

The trenches dug in WWI are considered symbolic of the futility of war, particularly because the lack of strategic thinking and stubbornness of commanders, reducing illogistic battles to ones of attrition, an insane approach not only for its profound lack of imagination, but equally so for the manner in which military leaders clung to its sophistic principles. Random orders regularly sent men “over the top” of the trench embankment into crossfire and into “no man’s land”, a chilling reference to the death zone in which flesh and bone were regarded as dispensable commodities and lives held no value.

The crocodile is a remarkably un-evolved species resembling closely its ancestors of the Eocene Epoch of nearly 55 million years ago, occasionally cannibalistic, eating its young, and instinctively resorting to drowning prey before eating it, which brings us to the campaign tactics of Mr. Obama, who cannot by any measure of decency, intellectual depth, achievement, or success match favorably with Mr. Romney. Instead, he’s trying to drag Mr. Romney into the swamp and suffocate him with unfounded rumor, innuendo, and lunatic-fringe fabrications, or at the very least, lure him into slugging it out in the gutter.

How “progressive.”

No synopsis of the Democrats’ strategy of substituting mud-wrestling for open debate would be complete without Joseph Goebbels clone and chief propagandist Harry Reid, a man with the demeanor of a snake and the ethics of a rat. This man’s moral canoe hasn’t had a paddle in it for decades, and as the curtain appears ready to close on his stranglehold of power he’s become predictably regressive, for no decorous individual, much less the Senate majority leader, has ever been more comfortable without waders in the bowels of indecency, and while oozing sleaze with snarky juvenility is de rigueur in adolescent competitions, it insults the position to which he lays claim and personifies an uncommon vulgarity. Such aberrant behavior, combined with increasing desperate rhetoric being spewed by the president is harming their own party’s moderates while simultaneously creating an ideological chasm from which balanced members must retreat, lest they resort to crocodilian cannibalism to see which piers in the Democratic platform are left intact.

As punctual as the atomic clock in Greenwich, England, Mr. Obama’s reaction to another act of random violence is that America has to do some soul searching, a comment which is not only utterly insulting to the country but one that reeks of political opportunism, especially during a time when we have entire nations committed to our destruction. The vacuum of logic in which he dwells precludes him from reasoning and sensibility, and compels him to instinctively assign blame to the United States at a time when radical terrorists lurk among us and foreign interests seek our nation’s demise.

There was no reason to condemn all Chechnyans after the school hostage tragedy of 2004, nor was there any basis for suggesting the nation of Norway was fundamentally flawed because of what a mad gunman did in July of last year, but considered and judicious discourse is not part of Mr. Obama’s repertoire and he wastes no opportunity to paint our country in unflattering colors. By contrast, if he was seriously interested in trends and doing some introspection of his own (he isn’t) he would see a crime spree by illegal aliens exploding before him, the ones for which he illegally granted asylum and the ones for which Janet Napolitano runs interference when she is not labeling Christians, gun owners, and certain bloggers domestic terrorists.

Hysteria and desperation manifest themselves in a number of ways, and in the case of dwindling poll numbers, increasing rejection by members of his own party, and an initial approval rating, however naïve, falling into a vortex, we can expect to see an acceleration of inane and frenzied machinations, and Mr. Obama’s Super-Pacs throwing more money at his Dirty Tricks Department than he wasted on Solyndra, a concept that leads to serious questions as to what lengths an administration will go behind the scenes when it so brazenly flaunts the law in full public view. It does not stretch credulity at all to suggest that the plan to flood the country with illegal voters by unilaterally ignoring immigration laws started the first day of the current administration with a distinct plan to steal the next election regardless of the feckless and reckless policies it planned to pursue, notwithstanding single-handedly gutting long-standing welfare legislation with the express intent of buying favor with generational malingerers. There is no sense of propriety with this assemblage of reprobate, but instead a distinct hatred of the United States and its laws and traditions combined with an unmistakable intent to dismantle it.

The re-election of Obama would result in a cabal of like-minded anti-American miscreants with nothing to lose and no other elections to win, and a de facto license to shackle financial institutions and corporations with heretofore unimaginable regulation until such time that centralization seemed like the only viable alternative. If Scotland, Ireland, and Australia possess strong business visionaries they must be fiendishly working to develop unprecedented incentive packages to lure business from the United States, which would impel the largest exodus of talent and corporate entities our country has ever seen. Commerce, manufacturing, and communication now blanket the world and the global marketplace is open 24 hours a day, reducing the need for corporations to be domiciled in the US and allowing them to offer employees comparable lifestyles in island nations who have shown resolve in rejecting radical Islam and efforts to bring about Sharia law to free societies.
It is a bitter irony that 52 years ago this week that Fidel Castro eliminated all radio and TV broadcasts in Cuba of the Catholic Church because it did not agree with the precepts of communism, especially at a time when Christianity is under assault in our own country, led by a president who once confused the 57 member states of Islam with that of the 50 states in the country he intended to assault from the trenches before ultimately dragging it under water to drown.

Never forget: “YOU didn’t build that!”

Don’t ever forget.

About Dan Bubalo

Daniel J. Bubalo was hired by the venerable firm of Kidder Peabody in 1978, before becoming a shareholder and partner with Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1984. He ultimately bought his own brokerage firm and steered it successfully through the market crash of 1987 before starting a venture capital and advisory company in the early 1990's. He has been a broker, manager, owner, trader, financier, and advisor on mergers and acquisitions, and throughout his career has opined regularly about the intractable nature of government and its inextricable hold and influence on financial markets. A securities violation landed him in federal prison from 1999 to 2003 which served to only sharpen his observations, watching in dismay at the dissolution of the Glass-Steagall Act, the 2001 dot.com bubble burst without so much as an investigation or arrest, and has since lectured between 2005 and 2011 at the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University on government intervention and ethics, as well as being presciently critical about Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank. Thank you a lot for ones interesting post. Plus seeking such concept for a long time. Not every your content entirely clear if you ask me, eventhough it is obviously interesting in addition to worth studying.

Obama is a con man of the lowest order! As I mentioned before he isn’t qualified to run a pretzel stand let alone an entire nation! Any clear thinking and honest person of nearly every ethnic group will attest to the fact, that had Obama been a white man with so little experience in politics, he would not have been elevated to the United States Presidency, so swiftly! Had such an invidual obtained the office despite his lack of visible accomplishments as Obama, neither the ultra liberal media nor most of the general public would have given him a pass for his consistent flaws! It was simply White guilt which generated this so-called symbolic phenomenon known as “America’s First Black president” .

      Well said, Renee.

thanks for a very well written work. So true and creepy.

      Creepy like science fiction, Walt.

  4. Stormrider900 August 14, 2012 at 1:01 am #

Dan, I really like your analogy. If you are inclined to believe the science that claims we all have a part of our brain that is a remnant from our Reptilian past, and that particular mass of cells and neurons dictates our aggression, drive to dominate, overcome all challengers in taking wealth and power, then the POTUS has sublimated the balance of his grey matter and given sway to the Reptilian persona; a SUPER Croc. with a Megalomaniac attitude. An extremely formidable and dangerous critter for sure. So, let’s throw another Shrimp on the Barbie, because it’s gonna be a long hard fight, and we are going to need all the strength we can get.

    • Dan Bubalo August 14, 2012 at 7:52 am #

      “Super Croc.”

Excellent call, Storm Rider. And all he can do is work his jaws until November.

  5. Wendy August 13, 2012 at 7:50 pm #

Dan, I love your analogy of obama and crocodiles! Only mankind is capable of pre-meditated atrocities on it’s own species. My only consolation, if obama gets elected again, is that when our country goes down, is that the crocodiles will be the survivors AGAIN!

    • Dan Bubalo August 13, 2012 at 9:30 pm #

The cold blooded reptiles have survived for a reason, Wendy.

(I wish the analogy wasn’t so apt)

  6. Chris August 13, 2012 at 5:22 pm #

I’ve heard of ‘Snakes on a Plane’ but ‘Snakes in the White House?’-Yikes!! Now That’s a horror story straight from the pit! We all know Obama can’t run on his record-pathetic as it is. He’s trained as a community agitator, so he’s going to create a distraction, knowing Americans have short-term memory loss where his record is concerned, and galvanize his useful idiots & co-Red Diaper Babies in Reid, Axelrod, NBPP, Farrakahn & the liberal media, to spread his message of hate. Love your analogy of trench warfare, because he’s going to get in the mud pit & start slinging. By the way, anybody hear about Michelle’s $7,000.00 jacket she wore to Buckingham Palace for a reception for the Olympic delegation representatives? I thought in ’93 the Clintons were on their way to knocking us back to third-world status, but Obama is taking us there at the speed of light!! Keep up the great writing, Dan!!

    • Dan Bubalo August 13, 2012 at 9:28 pm #

At one point he raises the bar for the Clinton’s, Chris, and when he isn’t doing that he’s burnishing Carter’s image.

      Pretty pathetic, isn’t it?

  7. Marilyn August 13, 2012 at 3:38 pm #

Dan, Great message to ponder. Thank you. I like your analogy of reptiles to our sitting politicians, especially the Boa Constictor who just likes to be called, “president.” He is busy choking the life out of America with every stroke of his pen. His hired crocs will do his bidding and the dirty work assigned to them. That is taking place now. The illegal amnesty is a farce and we well know why the Boa has written still another executive order to stop all seizure of illegals. The Boa is promoting human trafficking and slavery that takes place every day on the Southern border. Hispanic children are swept into human trafficking and they are removed to foreign countries where they will be abused throughout their life time. We cannot allow the Boa and the Crocs to submurge our American Liberty. The first step toward a recovery is to remember that God is sovereign over Man and that Man is sovereign over government. Once we get our heads on straight, we just might be able to recover from 9/11 > There have been more breaches since then. Now more than ever, America is vulnerable from within. The reptiles are getting hungry and determined. The first thing we do is ask for mercy and ask God to come back into our lives, our schools, our Churches, our streets, our businesses and to Bless America. To build bigger and better defense is one thing but without God in our lives, we are nothing but tall, stronger buildings waiting for more disaster. Lest we forget the Constitution was written mainly from words and thoughts of the Holy Bible and many acclaimed sensible authors. Unless we remember how we got from point A to point Y, we are defeated before we ever fire one shot. And, those who ignore this are in deep dodo. Benjamin Franklin said it best when someone asked him what is this ‘America?’ and he said, “A Republic if you can keep it.”

    • Dan Bubalo August 13, 2012 at 9:24 pm #

Excellent analogy with the boa constrictor, Marilyn.

(wish I’d have come up with that one myself)

  8. Deb August 13, 2012 at 1:33 pm #

DAN!!!! BAM right in the pocket! Love your writing and no holds barred style!

    • Dan Bubalo August 13, 2012 at 9:26 pm #

      Thanks, Deb.

Every time I think there will be a shortage of topics, all I have to do is turn on the news and there’s yet another jaw-dropping act of idiocy.

  9. jim August 13, 2012 at 12:46 pm #

I feel like I’m in the trenches..against the worse adminstation that there ever was…..trying to defend our constitution, our right’s,and my family. This so-called-leader has bad direction, his puppet string operators and czar’s are sending this country down the crocdile infested path.No budget in sight, only thing he wants to whittle on is our once proud military, cut down medicare and social security and our morale. I hope your article is seen by millions, especially anyone that needs proper guidance and direction. Poor ‘ol jimmy carter has got to be beaming..he’s no longer the worst president and ever day this foreign implant is in office …he’s looking better and he was pretty bad himself.

    • Dan Bubalo August 13, 2012 at 9:23 pm #

You’re so right Jim. The press and his handlers can still keep barking that Obama is great, but anyone paying attention knows he’s worse than Carter, and that is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

  10. John McClain August 13, 2012 at 12:35 pm #

Another fine column, Dan, and a truly apt comparison in tactics and personalities.
I personally believe Mr. Jefferson was serious in his statement, “every nation needs a revolution every few generations, the Tree of Liberty needs be refreshed from time to time with the blood of Patriots and Tyrants alike, it is its natural manure”.
Most Americans have treated it as hyperbole, but we have reached this point precisely because we have not taught our youth the costs of freedom.
In his statement, he put the blood of Patriots, first, precisely because men are inclined to endure opression, while it is endurable, and it is The Patriot who stands up stating “enough is enough, I won’t take this anymore”, and it is government response which sheds his blood and enervates the populace to rise.
Had we done so every time significant aspects of the constitution were abrogated, every few generations, those too old to fight, and those too young to fight would have gotten lessons in patriotism, the definition of limited government, and the full understanding of the authority of Sovereignty, as a citizen, as well as the full duties of Sovereigns, responsible for the Nation and its future.
If we choose to save our Nation, we can’t merely keep it going, and stay on course, there is no shortage of malevolent evil people ready and willing to take up where the zero leaves off, if we put him out.
If we don’t choose to save the Nation, individuals will choose to do so, and we will have a revolution. Most Americans fear a revolution, knowing there is no guarantee of outcome, and fear a tyranny as a real possibility. They refuse to acknowledge the current tyranny, which in truth is only an extention of tyranny ranging back to Teddy, and opening up America to open socialism and discrete communism.
If there is a chance to have The Republic of The United States of America, it will only be because we choose to press for it, and push all the way to the restoration of our original limits, and the original revenue source: excise taxes.
The primary reason an illegal income tax was put upon us was the fact the sole revenue source for the lawful federal government is excise taxes, and the largest revenue source was from the tax on whiskey. Prohibitionists knew they could never achieve their purpose while the government depended on the whiskey tax, and politicians wishing for more revenue were happy to oblige this small but vocal and powerfully connected group.
The constitution provided solely excise taxes, because they are paid purely voluntarily. If you don’t want to pay federal taxes, don’t buy foreign goods, don’t buy whiskey, and buy American.
The constitution only allow “apportioned taxes”, with the use of the census and population spread for determining “apportionment”. It is a verbal sleight of hand which is used to suggest a progressive income tax is “apportioned”, and therefore legal.
We can have “a government which fits in a hat box”, as was intended, simply by calling congress on its illegally establishing the FED, and calling Congress on the illegal income tax. Only a strong Majority protesting these two criminal acts can undo them, or a war of revolution. It is long since time for Americans to start acting their part instead of as children, needing everything handed to us.
    Sincerely,
    John McClain
    Vanceboro, NC

    • Dan Bubalo August 13, 2012 at 9:14 pm #

While your whole response is excellent, Gunny, you clinched it at the end with the comment to quit acting like children.

It’s time to start acting like grown-ups, which means accepting responsibility and teaching children there is no such thing as a money tree.

  11. Wakinyan August 13, 2012 at 12:04 pm #

This is a very excellent synopsis of this regime and some of its key players, particularly the ones that are readily obvious to the public. The country has been herded by these treasonous, reptilian (good analogy Dan though insulting to real reptiles) to a point where our very national sovereignty and individual liberty is at greater risk than ever in its history. Yes, even greater than it was leading up to World War Two because back then we were much more a nation of individuals with strong, independent character that had unabashed pride in being Americans and when we were attacked the tiger awoke overnight and went forth to crush our adversaries. Those united Americans had not yet been trained to depend on government for everything from cradle to grave and to feel that “society” owed them anything their envious hearts desired as much of today’s pampered, welfare generations have been.
Now our most dangerous enemy is right here and the apparatus of corruption he is building for the sole purpose of usurping and destroying our freedom so he and his ilk can rule is appalling to those of us that see it for what it is.
We have now met the “domestic enemy” that Thomas Jefferson and his colleagues foresaw would step forward if We The People failed to remain vigilant and resistant to its evil machinations. We now have generations of welfare trough feeders added to by tens of millions of illegal invaders that are being pandered to through cowardly political correctness and purposeful design aided by too much public apathy. They are collectively so ignorant and greedy they cannot, or will not, see that they are been made into useful idiots to destroy the very national affluence they seek to live off of.
This whole almost unbelievably corrupt and subversive would-be-dictatorship must be swept from positions of power if we are to survive as a nation of free people. It is almost too late now. If they are allowed to corrupt and steal the elections as they are planning to do no matter what it takes even if they have to resort to creating enough chaos to “justify” declaring martial law and actually refusing to allow the election to be conducted, then they will have to be removed from power in other ways. It is as basic as that or this will rapidly become the Once Great United States.

  12. pblee August 13, 2012 at 11:25 am #

This administration has not one single success that it can point to and run on. With nothing to offer in the marketplace of ideas and zero achievements in the past 3 years, it is only natural that the president use “campaign” tactics better suited to middle school bullies and street gangs. Lies, race baiting hate, class envy, and ignorance about his agenda (curtesy of a culpable media) are what he runs on. How he pulled the wool over so many people’s eyes is a study in socialist technique.

Excellent Rant Dan! It is always a pleasure to read your commentary.

    • Dan Bubalo August 13, 2012 at 1:55 pm #

Thanks, Pblee. Hard to believe that such a classless fool is up for re-election, and that playground taunts have been substituted for genuine debate.

  13. Ben August 13, 2012 at 10:51 am #

Great column. People must realize that transformation is the removal of liberties for the little people, and why 0bama is throwing away as much money as he can.

To transform the society he must first collapse the economy. Even a complete moron would not burn money at every opportunity like this guy does without an agenda.

    • Gramps August 13, 2012 at 11:29 am #

Ben you have hit the nail on the head. Obama does not want to fix anything. He want to destroy BOTH the economic and SOCIAL MORALS of the country. Just compare the morals of those who are so strongly behind him and those who so strongly oppose him. Compare the Tea Partiers and the Occupiers. Enough said.

      • Dan Bubalo August 13, 2012 at 1:47 pm #

When I see the occupiers and their ilk, Gramps, it disturbs me to know they get to vote, too. The only good thing is that people that are too lazy to shower are often too lazy to vote as well.

    • Dan Bubalo August 13, 2012 at 1:44 pm #

You are right about trashing money, Ben.

If we live long enough to look back on this period of time, much less survive it, it will be viewed as pure luncacy.

  14. Norlyn August 13, 2012 at 10:10 am #

Dan, good comparison; Obama & his comrades with reptiles.

    • Dan Bubalo August 13, 2012 at 12:32 pm #

Thanks, Norlyn. Wakinyan commented shortly after you and said something profound:

I guess I owe an apology to all reptiles for comparing them to politicians.
