Dan Bubalo: Is The Rat Finally Caught?

Stories and scientific documentation vary slightly with respect to the behavior of members belonging to the scientifically named “superfamily Muroidea”, more commonly known as rats.  In laboratories the rodents can be trained to jump as high as 20 inches, while many exterminators attest to a rat’s ability to leap up to four feet when cornered, commonly believed to result from an instinctive and oversized sense of survival.

A similar sense of self-preservation and adrenaline flow has recently kicked into overdrive in the Oval Office and among its operatives, and it is clear that, very much like rats, the fight for life among this feral group will override its innate sense of decency, presuming it was born with any, because the most foul, gutter-brawling, sluice-slinging, moat and trench water hurling, mud-throwing campaign this country has ever witnessed is about to begin, sure to degrade the election process in a mirror image of how Mr. Obama has debased his office.  His record of unfathomable failure precludes him from running on achievement, so he and his hatchet-wielding agents will resort to character assassination, rumor, distortion, lies, and innuendo, and when all that fails they will rely upon complete fabrications to denigrate Mitt Romney and distract voters from the fact that Mr. Obama is a charlatan who champions un-American and anti-American causes.

Friends from foreign countries chide me as to whether Mr. Obama really is our president or merely an actor who plays one on TV, and I assure them he’s more like the used car salesman who stays at a Holiday Inn Express one night and feels capable of performing brain surgery the next day.

It is troubling to witness a man in his fifties, elected to the most powerful and influential office in the world, use the code word “evolving” for the purpose of cadging money from another special interest group whose positions, once again, run contrary to the moral fabric upon which this country was built. Personally, I need more information on this evolving-thing.  Is it the result of a correspondence course?   Did he divine this direction while napping in the Oval Office with his feet up on the desk, or is he interpreting a message he received in a fortune cookie?

Fortunately, a point has been reached where another avalanche of campaign contributions and another highly polished campaign ad filled with falsehoods will not change the perception among America and her allies that the president’s weak and pliable mind sits atop a spine with the tensile strength of butter, and no amount of marketing or pancake makeup can hide or erase the seditious nature of the statement, “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”  He admonishes Israel for vowing to protect itself against Iran and terrorist groups bent on its annihilation while his tacit endorsement of radical Islam has allowed it to seize more real estate in North Africa and throughout the Middle East than Hitler and the Axis powers were able to acquire during World War II, then pivots deftly to claim a fast and loose association with Christianity to rationalize an obsession with commandeering corporate profits and gouging high net worth achievers.

Unfortunately, the long overdue realization that the emperor has no clothes has not deterred King Rat and his Colonists, and instead has propelled them to redouble their efforts at misdirection.  In no specific order we have proxies suggesting Mr. Romney hates dogs and women.  Out on the flank we have the FBI at Eric Holder’s direction “investigating” JP Morgan .  Any microphone is still seen as an opportunity to take another whack at oil companies.  Trot out the old bromide about the Republicans’ intent to kill Granny and starve the poor.  Work the angle about fairness and demonize success. Brag about Bin Laden.  Blame Bush.  Season the pot of racial discord.  Unleash Biden so his idiotic comments clog the news cycle for another 48 hours.  Turn the wife loose to talk about nutrition. (tell me that ain’t funny)  Taunt Congress.  Hit the talk shows, endorse gay marriage, and sneak in another couple rounds of golf.    Prevaricate.  Equivocate.  Pontificate.  JUST DON’T LET THE CONVERSATION TURN TO DOUBLING THE NATIONAL DEBT AND HOW FECKLESS FISCAL ACTIONS HAVE PUSHED THE COUNTRY TO NEAR RUINATION!

This is not leadership, nor the work of even a mediocre statesman.  There is nothing cogent or cohesive or purposefully planned for the benefit of the country, but there is an unmistakable intent to generate mayhem for the sake of confusion, with the ultimate objective of creating havoc and chaos to such a degree that more government seems like the only plausible solution.

J P Morgan got greedy, acted foolishly, and lost a lot of money recently with a ridiculous derivative strategy, but why bring in the FBI except to create another smoke screen.  Stupidity isn’t illegal, so what is there to investigate?  Just ask most congressmen. They’ve been getting away with it for years.  Information conveniently omitted as the Justice Department grandstands yet again with selective muscle flexing is how much J P Morgan has made in profit that will offset the loss, and on top of that Morgan didn’t squander someone else’s money on, say, something as worthless as Solyndra.  They lost their own dough by not quantifying their risk.  At this rate what could possibly come next?  Dispatching the FBI to investigate losses in Vegas?

Edward Klein’s aptly named book, The Amateur, was released recently.  Our country would be in less dire circumstances if Mr. Obama’s presence on the national stage had only been as fleeting as someone trying their luck at Amateur Night at The Apollo Theater, for then we could have just booed him out of the auditorium.  Now we must wait until November to see if the rat is lucky enough to get another piece of cheese or if he is finally caught in the self-made trap of his own lies.

About Dan Bubalo

Daniel J. Bubalo was hired by the venerable firm of Kidder Peabody in 1978, before becoming a shareholder and partner with Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1984. He ultimately bought his own brokerage firm and steered it successfully through the market crash of 1987 before starting a venture capital and advisory company in the early 1990's. He has been a broker, manager, owner, trader, financier, and advisor on mergers and acquisitions, and throughout his career has opined regularly about the intractable nature of government and its inextricable hold and influence on financial markets. A securities violation landed him in federal prison from 1999 to 2003 which served to only sharpen his observations, watching in dismay at the dissolution of the Glass-Steagall Act, the 2001 dot.com bubble burst without so much as an investigation or arrest, and has since lectured between 2005 and 2011 at the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University on government intervention and ethics, as well as being presciently critical about Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank. I unfortunately I have to agree with some above that Romney isn’t dirty enough to play the upcoming game. He doesn’t have the experience that the Chicago trained thugs have and will have to learn while they kidney punch him to the floor. Remember the attempt to run a clean campaign? How’d that work out?
In the far distant mists of time I was fortunate enough to take a class in arbitration and even more fortunate to have a visiting professor from Harvard teach, the author of “Marketing Myopia”, a bible of the time along with “The Three Minute Manager”. I remember thinking that if he was an example of what teaches at Harvard, the kids of the rich and famous are not only rich and famous themselves, but fortunate in spades.
The game was fairly simple. The class was divided up into teams of four and then two teams would be given a scenario and have at each other. The class voted for the winner of the contest. It was a great class and what I learned served me well in the years to come unlike calculus.
The team that I was on had a couple of guys from Lockeed who had worked on the C5 which I still don’t think there is any way it can fly, a female VP of a well heeled local bank (Citizens and Southern) that had the title because she was sharp, not because she had good legs and yours truly, the babe in the woods, but a fair to middling street brawler. Rather than spend time on research and debate, we devoted virtually all of our time thinking of what the other team would do and say and determining how we could best respond. We came up with what we thought would be their position and developed the logical response. Then we worked hard on coming up with the largest case of BS and acting ever seen in Atlanta.
We massacred them showing no mercy. They played the game fair, we played to win. The class voted us the winner of the game and when asked why they picked us, they couldn’t come up with anything solid. We just sounded good and dressed well (and she wore a short skirt). Not a single word about the outright lies and skullduggery was uttered. I don’t think they were even noticed what with the academy award performances they were treated to. I’m beginning to think that Barry Allahbama was monitoring the class.
Romney needs to learn to outright lie, cheat and steal and study the manual of dirty tricks if he is to stand a chance. Rumors like “Did you see the hemp growing in Michelle’s vegetable garden”? Or maybe “Barry eats his peas and dog with a dinner knife” for starters. It doesn’t have to be the truth, just convincing. Should Romney need, I’m available at a reasonable consulting fee. And I’d like Dan to have my back. Or I’ll take his if he learns to hit below the belt.
My point is simply that Obama won the election because he looked good, talked pretty and lied like a bear rug.

Thank you as always, Big Jim. I’m in agreement with you; I don’t want to be around for any part of the next four years, for if the current regime remains the country will die from death by a thousand cuts————–(with about 500 already administered)

  7. jim May 21, 2012 at 11:43 pm #

Big Jim says: we ain’t seen nothing yet,The rat and his sinister Snidley Whiplash’s will stop at nothing in Nov. election.Just wait, they’ll hit hard, they’ll hit often and they’ll hit deep. If Romney does like Mccain(which was shoo off a few flys” we are doomed. McCain was a poor excuse and was afaid to use his ammuntion and never reloaded.Some-one needs to bring in some hard hitters like Newt or Rove. If the foreign operative stays four more,I don’t want to be around to see it. Great article keep ‘em coming

Good to hear from you, Storm Rider. He was grossly underestimated for all kinds of reasons the first time around and cannot be this time or the entire country is going to feel like a cold rainy day in Moscow before 2016 rolls around.

  9. dan bubalo May 21, 2012 at 9:34 pm #

Thanks, Cappy. Wish I could disagree with you, but you’re too eerily close to the truth.

  10. Capt Foxy May 21, 2012 at 9:24 pm #

Well done, Dan! I’m very pessimistic of the election outcome. The Evil that lurks in the heart of Obama and his minions is extremely strong stuff and cannot be combated by truth alone. They have a warehouse of dirty tricks that will be played to the unsuspecting electorate, straight out of the Marxist lesson plans of Ayres, SDS, and the Weather Underground. I have little confidence in the Repubs energy to carry the fight to the Dems. Herman Cain was my man. I lost a lot of interest in the process after they gelded him; a case of character assassination with a vengeance. I suspect a coup d’etat by the Left if they are unable through fraud to steal the election. Anything is possible with the present goons in control of the police/military apparatus. Should Obama be defeated electorally, watch out for the 2 month transition period before the reins of power are handed over. That may be the most dangerous time. I fear a suite of unconstitutional happenings, including assassination, war, dissolving congress, may be used by the left to usurp the democratic process. My intuition tells me that we are close aboard the same stream of history that ushered in the October 1917 Revolution in Russia. Sorry to be so negative, but that’s how I see the unfolding epic.

  11. Stormrider900 May 21, 2012 at 9:05 pm #

Never underestimate the “talents” of a cornered or desperate six foot one inch, 180 pound RAT! This species of vermin is best contained in the most secure level of a Bio-Warfare lab, equipped with an automatic, instantaneous, non abortable, nuclear self destruct system, in case of containment failure. Then again, this may be playing loose with a threat to freedom like the Spanish Flu and Black Death were to humanity.

    Book ‘em, Dan-O!

  12. dan bubalo May 21, 2012 at 8:23 pm #

    W.W. Woodward,

They’ll give “slash and burn” a new definition when they sense they’re going down. It’s going to get ugly

  13. Woody W Woodward May 21, 2012 at 8:01 pm #

Cornered rats are extremely dangerous vicious animals that will go to any lengths to survive. The _resident may be trapped and may very well hopefully be on the way out but he and his minions and ignorant sycophants are still dangerous opponents and can be expected to disregard all costs to others in their attempt to remain in power.

We are dealing with actual evil and must be prepared to combat it in any manner necessary while still maintaining the high ground.

    Deputy Dog,

The Veep selection might very well tip the balance, and it better be a good one this time.

  17. dan bubalo May 21, 2012 at 1:49 pm #

All good stuff, Gunny, but “repugnant” was probably the best and most descriptive word.

    His smugness knows no boudaries.

  18. dan bubalo May 21, 2012 at 1:46 pm #

    Thom’s Thumb,

Guess you could tell I’m not a fan, eh? ?

  19. dan bubalo May 21, 2012 at 1:44 pm #

You nailed it, Alan. The Supreme Court appointments loom as arguably as big a threat to the country as any it’s ever faced.

I shudder to think what a couple more “Kagenites” on the panel would do to put in the final coffin nails.

  20. dan bubalo May 21, 2012 at 1:42 pm #

    RVD,

I agree, there’s no sense in playing or no sense in fighting unless the goal is to win, and the worst we could all do is underestimate the determination of the opposition to win at all costs

  21. dan bubalo May 21, 2012 at 1:38 pm #

    Joanne Clarke,

It’s a saying as old as dirt: nobody buys a cow when they get the milk for free.

    DLB,

We’re being tested———–no doubt about it.

  24. dan bubalo May 21, 2012 at 1:35 pm #

    Marilyn,

In a odd twist, Obama has done more to wake up and unite the great vanishing breed: taxpayers. There is a large number of tax-paying lefties who have finally gotten their fill along with the rest of us.

  25. DLB May 21, 2012 at 1:31 pm #

Brilliant! Again, you made me laugh; but the truth of what you wrote makes me want to cry… So many people blinded by color, ignorance, greed – all bad stuff. Our God’s not dead but he must be in hiding right now.

  26. Marilyn May 21, 2012 at 1:19 pm #

I like your analogy, Dan. We once caught a “mouse” but he dragged the trap around with his tail, banging into everything. Finally caught, I begged hubby to take outside and release. He said he would take it outside. I heard a loud thump and hubby had thrown the trap with mouse up-side the barn door and killed the mouse. With that in mind, I believe we have the “Rat” by the tail because it is darn angry and producing non-constitutional legislature/blab each day; and it’s a matter of time before he gets thrown out. Knocked out on a barn door would be one good idea. There is more and more proof being investigated on the legality of this president. Roberts Court, one of the issues being investigated is Obama’s eligibilty. Not so much the birth certificate but the Social Security number in CT while Obama was in high school in Hawaii. There are other presidential non-constitutional issues being scrutinized. Perhaps the court system is finally waking up to what is happening to this country. Obama has finally grabbed the tiger by the tale and irked the court system and they aren’t taking his disapproval lightly. Justice Anthony Kennedy stated that he has no intention of retiring until Obama is gone. We already know that Kagan is a Socialist/Communist and that she was planted by Obama. She didn’t recuse herself on the ObamaCare case so that tells us that she doesn’t follow judicial system protocol. There are so very many reasons to oust Obama. Now, Iran has been accepted into UN because they intend to make women’s rights more accessable to the Iranian women. I suppose the women can have a choice of rag color to cover their faces and heads. Like, Dark Brown, Dark Navy Blue or traditional Black. Also, our Armed Forces are to wear the UN patch on their military clothing. What’s up with that? They don’t wear UN anything; they wear the United States patch!

  27. BorderCollieMan May 21, 2012 at 11:43 am #

Dr. Orly Taitz has been and is working herself ragged to bring this King Rat to justice for being a fraud, imposter and criminal, but Sheriff Joe and Joe Farah, Jerome Corsi and WND company are cleverly allied with Obama to resist her. There fake claims that they are pursuing Obama are just that – fake.

  28. Gary Thomsen May 21, 2012 at 11:10 am #

To have a choice of muslim or mormon in the upcoming election is definitely a judgement on our country. Do I vote for the Beast or the False Prophet? Hm. Our country is going down the tubes. We are sheep being led to the slaughter. I’ve lived long enough so that when the “committee” decides I can no longer receive medical care, I won’t grieve as I know I am going to a much better place anyway. It is my children I pray for and worry about. The generation after mine has been dumbed down so much by our mis-education system, that they don’t realize what their votes are doing to their children. There is only one solution that I can see. If the people of this nation repent of their sins and humble themselves and seek Your Face, I pray You will hear from Heaven and heal our land. Amen and Amen.

we have to many people who want the free handouts. so they will shut their eyes to continue getting them. it is really sad with all the lazyness. and the vicious circle will continue.

  30. Alan May 21, 2012 at 10:21 am #

You know Dan, living on a farm I know just how difficult it is to trap a cunning rat. It isn’t easy because they are wary of anything that looks like it might be a trap. They can be extremely vicious when cornered. Make no mistake, Obama isn’t a stupid rat. He will use everything in his power to get re-elected. If he is re-elected, God help us. Just think about this. He has control of the congress now. If he keeps control, then add this. Supreme Justice Scalia is 78. Justice Kennedy will be 78 later this year. Justice Breyer will be 76 in Aug. Justice Ginsburg is 81. Chances are the next POTUS will replace one or more of these justices. What do you think about Supreme Court Justice Eric Holder. It could happen if we are not carefull. You think a race war would be bad now? Wait and see what could happen if Obama is cornered and not trapped. We are in deep doo-doo.

  31. RVD May 21, 2012 at 10:21 am #

I truly wish I had the confidence in Romney that everyone here seems to have! Personally, I don’t believe Romney has the backbone or the coglioni to fight dirty….at least as dirty as Obama! The old saying “Nice Men finish last” didn’t just come out of thin air! And it’s true…..look where it landed McCain! I think the only person who could have hit Obama where it really hurts was Newt Gingrich! He’s not afraid to open up with his ammo and fire from both barrels! Romney isn’t made of the same stuff….unfortunately! Unless, some unforeseen “event” comes along and interferes with Obama having a second chance, ie: his ineligibility as a “natural born citizen”…..it just doesn’t look good for We the People or the USA! I sincerely wish I could feel more positive about this, but it’s getting more and more difficult. This “regime” doesn’t have a fair and honest bone in their bodies, and it’s a case of fight fire with fire! Whatever is thrown at Romney….has to be thrown back twice as hard! We have to fight this battle fully aware that our lives depend on winning it!

  32. Thom's Thumb May 21, 2012 at 10:12 am #

Gee, Dan. What do ya really think about this guy?

This I/me/my administration has directed etc-in-chief has yet to show any charity towards its beasts of burden or the unwashed masses that drive them on his behalf up to now so it seems fair to say tht the die is cast for what is to come in the coming months. Sugar plums dancing in his head is not the way I would characterize his dreams at night for these events – assuming he has the intelligence to actually dream.

If, as you aptly point out, stubidity is not a crime then why is it of interest when J. P. Morgan loses 2% of its capitol that warrants investigation by the FBI and not of interest when the president risks 100% on Solyndra and other like companies then loses it all?

I get confused here but the creiteria seems to be that if you lose your own money it’s criminal (presumably because the government feels cheated out of revenues that they think should be theirs) but if you risk and lose other peoples money that’s just the price of reinvestment.

  33. John McClain May 21, 2012 at 10:04 am #

Well, despite the most ambition efforts, the greatest scams in our history, the most repugnant executive branch in our Nation’s history, the truth is out, it can’t be deleted, and it is so simple and clear, no one can miss the facts, as long as they care enough to open their eyes.
To counter this, the illegal alien has no nation to lob cruise missiles at, he can’t come up with and attention getting strategy in the wars he’s backing out of, so he has put up his version of a “Hail Mary”, and we can expect a hundred differing attacks in as many different directions, because no matter what, we must not look behind the curtain, especially those he has depended on, those who he thought he owned, because he’s his own “messiah”.
So now we know why Andy had to die, and why the coroner had to be murdered. He must run now, because what is now open is too simple to use fast talk and slick tactics to cover it up, it’s his own words, and they conclusively show he has no legal right to even be on a ballot and never did.
The real question is, will we stand up and believe what he says, or will we believe our “lying eyes”? Anyone care to add conspiracy to commit murder, to the charges being ignored? I’m game.

If Romney doesn’t go on the attack and keep attacking Obama’s failures he will go the same way as McCain.
Romney has to attack with every bit of force he can muster and like General Patton did with his tanks in WWII don’t take the time to stop and look back or stop to respond to allegations or criticisms from Obama’s minions.
This election is a “Do or Die” for the GOP and if it fails to oust Obama our country will be headed for destruction.
Also, Romney has to pick a VP who is Constitutionally qualified.
Senator Rubio is not eligible for the VP job as he doesn’t qualify.

I hope we can recover from the foul stench that 0bama has placed on the office of the President.
