FoxNews is blathering all over itself pursuant to its upcoming presidential debate from Iowa. So what – I wouldn’t watch it if someone held a gun on me. I found the behavior of Chris Wallace, Bret Baier, and Megyn Kelly in the debate they hosted in Oralando, Florida, two steps below abominable – and the questions asked by a highly competent and articulate essayist like Byron York, beneath his ability.
Fox made a mockery of the debate, and as I wrote at the time, “I’m not sure if the moderators had been drinking or had excessed on ‘silly pills,’ but it would have been hard for them to beahve more poorly or to do a worst job.” (Chris Wallace: We want to know if you’re a “flake?”; 8/12/11)
And yes, I am still very much upset with the way Fox, and Megyn Kelly specifically, went after Herman Cain but carefully omitted Megyn Kelly’s having lived in the same Chicago apartment building with Sharon Bialek, and Bialek’s boyfriend. Kelly lived in Apt. 1910, William Concha, Bialek’s boyfriend at the time lived in Apt. 1903, and Bialek herself lived in Apt. 2506. It seems reason to believe that living in such close proximity they would have met over the years they lived there – yet when Kelly was making snide, sneapish remarks and facial expressions, as she showed clips of Herman addressing crowds, she made no mention of her relationship with these people. Perhaps Kelly should tell us if she and Bialek ever worked at the same place? Could Kelly be the person who put Bialek in touch with Alred? And what exactly were the circumstances surrounding her divorce? And perhaps the reference to Axelrod’s address during the MacCallum-Bialek interview, was a feint to steer people away from Kelly. I’m digressing, I’ll discuss those issues and more in an upcoming “Daily Rant” and syndicated commentary.
Chris Wallace asked Michelle Bachmann on his news show: “Are you a flake?” What kind of question is that for a so-called journalist to ask a presidential candidate? I take notice he didn’t ask Obama that question? Not one of the moderators that night has ever questioned Obama about cheating on his wife – or don’t they consider accusations and rumors of his sexual proclivities worthy of question? Or is it that they do not consider Larry Sinclair credible? I submit he is as credible and indeed moreso than Sharon Bialek and Ginger White. In any event, Fox simply blathers on pretending that a man with rock solid business solutions for our economy and the voice of the people never existed.
Just where is the “fair and balanced,” where is the “we report you decide?” Or is that what they called themselves doing? During her show on Fox Business Channel, in response to a Dennis Kneale plaudit directed toward Herman Cain, program host Cheryl Casone, half-heartedly agreed, and then went into her babble about Herman having good things to say until the things in his closet caught up with him. Funny how she omitted the adulterers, alcoholics, and program hosts who boast about lap dances, drugs, and call girls over at Fox News.
- Did you know Mychal Massie uses Constant Contact to deliver his Daily Rant everyday? –
I like Neil Cavuto, if I were forced to be another journalist for one day, I would be hard pressed not to choose him. But even he isn’t enough for me to watch the debate. I have lost what little respect I had for FoxNews.
After the Orlando, Florida debate FoxNews hosted, it came out that during the editorial meeting before the debate, it was discussed how to go about creating fireworks and gotcha moments. I don’t watch debates for such theatrics and neither do most others. It is a tragic day when the CNNs host a better debate than Fox.
There’s one more thing that annoys me with FoxNews. When Herman Cain was running away in the polls, every campaign comment began: “can Herman Cain win” and every answer was “he’s a nice guy, but he can’t win.” It was all Romney, all the time. Newt Gingrich has enough past and present skeletons in his closet to fill Filene’s Basement. That his current skeleton’s have to with highly troublesome associations and policy recommendations doesn’t seem not to matter. Romney has literally gone from can’t lose to who cares, overnight.
When you come to my blog you know you’re going to get hard-hitting, straight-forward, blunt force, conservatism and it’s coming at you without apology. Watching FoxNews, the only thing you can be sure of is that they are not going to be fair or balanced and that they report in ways intended to spin the news.
That FoxNews is driven by ratings and advertising dollars doesn’t bother me, that they present an amalgamation of spin and talking party talking points does. As for Chris Wallace, the Huffington Post is correct, he is a disgrace to his fathers name, even if I believe same is the case for different reasons. Now, who would have thought I would ever agree with Huffpo?

Cain’s accusers are no mistresses–this was all set-up to run him out of the race.
Thousands of mistresses to CEOs, politicians, movie stars and other wealthy men are out there. Why don’t they get on TV?
A real mistress keeps her mouth shut because she has more to gain being discreet. She contacts the man’s attorney, signs a contract and receives compensation for keeping the affair confidential.
A real mistress does not destroy a man’s political ambitions because if he becomes President she will have something really juicy to write about in her memoirs.
Cain’s accusers give mistresses a bad name!
amber lawrence: you make a good point…must confess its one I hadn’t thought of…
Dear Mychal, We’ve reached the point in our nation where we truly can’t turn around and undo things, but like walking into your home after running away from a hurricane, you can’t start by picking up straws, and the pieces of sand and gravel, and work your way up to vacuuming, and then washing the walls, yet that is the essence of all the intents of all the candidates but one.
Only Ron Paul remains standing, stating one has to go in the house and pull all the detritus out, empty all our belongings into the yard and walk, decide which walls can be fixed, and which must just be torn down, and not until the structure of the house, and its foundation are secure, can we even think about clean.
Herman Cain had his own plan on turning things upside down, and he has been taken out by the knees and is gone, but the rest remain on the same pages they have always been on.
We, America, have to recognise our nation has collapsed from constant barrages against it, and no real effort for decades to actually fix anything other than some bailing wire here and some twine there. We have to come to believe we truly are nothing at all like what our founders established, and we will never be that again, except that we choose to stop, completely, pull our armed forces home, all of them, put them in the places we need them, some on the border, some surrounding the criminal government, and remove the parts of government which are not Constitutional, which will require our military, and choose to use all our resources together, as a whole people, and return to the ideal of “government under the law of the Constitution”, a people who are active, motivated, and capable of doing anything, and doing it as well or better than anyone, which we are, and then jump in with both feet and start the doing part.
All of us who have ever tackled a dirty and hard job know the hardest part is starting, and the easiest thing in the world is finding a good reason to start tomorrow. We all also know that when we are smart, we tell that voice to shut up, it’s time to start, right now.
I say Ron Paul only because he is the only candidate who has a record that is dead reliable going back to 1971, and he has held steady on every aspect since that time. He is not perfect, but we can’t have our Nation back without re-establishing the Constitution as the law of the land, and thereby, the law which exactly defines the government, and specifies its authority absolutely, with no wiggle room at all.
That is the only solution that can ever satisfy all the Honest People who are citizens. The dishonest ones will never be satisfied, and it is wasteful of resources to try.
Always dead right on Target, Mychal, God Bless you and yours,
John McClain
john mcclain: the problem w/ paul amongst other things is his stance on foreign policy…in my mind it is a huge problem…be well my friend…
…even Ron Paul would be – o so much better – than obama…but I am going to have to sit and wait out the storm on the horizon, before I make a final decision. I am becoming much more aware of the problems these united States are facing – thanx in no small part to this column. I am now at a standstill in decisionmaking – thanx in a massive sense to the media maggots that have successfully dethroned Mr. Herman Cain. (but I really shouldn’t give maggots a bad rap…they do perform a necessary service) Now I must wait and see…
Mr. Massie, sir – I am waiting…
(my dog would be better than the current administration…at least she is housebroken…)
richard: indeed your dog would do better…she’s housebroken and listens to you…I’m glad you find site helpful…
Mychal,
Interesting info on Kelly. If they lived several floors apart it is likely that they were elevator friends and no more. However, I do think that additional investigation would be worthwhile.
Speaking of friends, I used to live across the street from Cavuto. We still share Christmas cards and Christmas letters. I can attest to his honesty and dedication to the truth. He is a truly good guy. What you see on TV is what you see at home.
I will watch the debates. I will probably end up yelling at the moderators but I need the exercise. Besides, I do want to see what they say, in context, because it will be necessary to counter lies from the left. Perhaps Santorum or Bachman will break out.
Keep up the good work and great rants.
George
newjerseypatriot: there is more on kelly…I just chose not to share it yet…question why would fox conceal about kelly…its the old adage that the only reason to conceal something is if you have something to conceal…good to hear from you…
I want a boycott of all news… even Fox! In these times in our country there is only one way to get their attention… A Wallet Punch. I want “We the People” to be heard. I believe we need somebody with the power and knowledge to get behind a media boycott. Just imagine if we could team up with A Matt Drudge and call for a complete boycott of all media. We could get our news via the internet somehow that cuts off any income for them.
A big part of the overall plan is to have a list of demands that clearly outline our expectations. A website could be set up so all people could have a voice in determining what they are. This problem is a-political. Our media and our government has an agenda that we are not a part of. Corruption is what rules the USA. We are running out of time. When the people with the power are living strictly for what they can steal today our future is not much to look forward to.
God Bless you Mychal for all your hard work. We need to find more people like you to analyze and point to the truth.
buffalo john: what we need to hold them to the same standards they hold others they don’t like…I wouldn’t mind seeing them take a dump in ratings…
Can anyone explain why Hannity throws a football during his broadcast. Are we to be impressed or what? Michelle Malkin did a good job exposing Sean and his moderate liberal stance on the Hannity show. He is nothing but a spokesMAN for the Republican Establishment aka The RINO club.
Hannity sucks… nuff said!
buffalo john: not the way I would put it…but I’m no fan…
rodney r stubbs: you echo my sentiments…
Those of us whose moral compass are attuned to Absolute Truth (Bible) are not (easily) swayed by what any talking head says.
Unfortunately, the majority of the world sets their moral compass to whichever direction suits them at the moment. These people are the ones whose positions are tenable and affected by talking heads.
kelso: well said and true…
I wondered if I was the only one becoming disenchanted with Fox News and also some of the so-called conservative talk radio hosts. First of all, I don’t need Rove, Krauthammer, O’Reilly, etc., to tell me who can win and who can’t. I resent their attempts to choose my candidate and I don’t consider their opinions so brilliant that I would be a fool to dismiss them. As a Texan, I have been very upset that Rick Perry has been treated like an unintellectual hick. Yes, he has made some gaffes and that’s upsetting, but he is an excellent governor and we Texans aren’t the ignorant buffoons as many in the media we think we are. We wouldn’t continue to elect a fool. If you doubt me, ask yourself why Texas seems to be doing quite well in this horrendous economy, thank you very much.
doublesmith: you’re not the only one sick of foxnews…
… and why hasn’t anyone questioned obamma & rahm’s membership in a gay bath house? Here is one blog site about it … when a search is made on the ‘net, there are several references and different articles.
http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2011/11/report-republican-candidate-is-closeted.html
Obamma on the ‘down low’
http://theobamafile.com/_shakystuff/RumorDownLow.htm
jim holmes: the hillbuzz, com outed obama…as did larry sinclair…obama deserves to have that past looked into…they’d be on it if it were Herman Cain or someone else they disapprove of…
The Republican Candidates are killing each other with personal insults. I thought the R campaign panels would be about The Federal Government and How they might Cure the Ills of this Country. They can bash Obama all they want but to bash each other is childish- The Libs will take care of the insults and bashing. Now we have Fox News that does its own kind of bashing of the Republicn Party and feeds hogwash to anyone who will listen. I’ve lost interest in Fox. Newsmax.com has some problems with sticking to Conservatism. Newt is taking a lot of personal heat which we knew would come. Ron Paul is made out to be an idiot when he actually gives some reasons to stick with the Constitution and get rid of the Federal Reserve! (My thinking!) M. Bachman starts to answer some questions but is always interrupted before she completes a sentence. I’ll do my own research and read what Mychal has to say about politics. Crystal is fun to watch and I do enojoy his videos. I guess Obama didn’t like Fox so Fox had to make some changes to accomodate the Communist Prig.
marilyn: your last sentence sums it up…that said I will say it here…the program hosts are either intentionally dishonest and misleading or stupid…then again they could be all of same…
Mychal,
It’s time we Christians accept the fact that there is no one in the main stream media and a pathetic few in government who are on our side. God is on our side and individually we will win because of that. I fear for our country…
arizonaguy: true…
arizonaguy: true very true…
You would think America would be farther up the intellectual ladder in, almost, 2012; but the fact is, we’re going back down the ladder. All venues of society — music, literature, art, theatre, AND reportage — are in dismal decline and have been since, believe it or not, 1955 roughly, with the advent of Elvis.
Chris Wallace is an embarrassment to his father, and I don’t know that his father was all that good. It seems to me that the intellectual age of most these news people is about 21. When I heard Wallace ask the “flake” question, I was dumfounded at his childishness. I can’t remember what the question was that Byron York asked Bachman, but, it too, smacked of gross immaturity (wasn’t it something about religious values determining her political stances? Duh!).
Then, of course, you have O’Riley and Ingraham constantly talking over the top of their guests. What’s with that? I think O’Riley and Ingraham have a rule that THEY have to speak every 5 seconds regardless of what the guest is saying.
Anyway, these people are very tiring. Of course we can always tune in public radio/TV news programs and listen to polite and funereal newscasters/commentators bore us to tears with their incessant socialist drivel — drivel that we get to help pay for. What are we to do besides check in with Mychal frequently.
eats many turtles: I don’t know about elvis…I think I understand the point you are making pursuant to him…that said you are spot on w/ everything else…
eats many turtles: I agree w/ everything you have said…not sure about elvis albeit I think I understand your point about him…
Mychal.. I was so disgusted.that I stopped watching those debates after the first one.. those moderators were and are an embarrassment to their professed profession. I no longer watch Fox for the reasons you have laid out in this and other rants.. After Herman dropped out.. who are we left with.. Oh my word.. I can’t believe I’m saying this.. but I find myself leaning toward the Ron Paul and M. Bachmann side of the stage..
As bad as Barry O is… WHY can’t the GOP come up with a winner for a change.. It’s just more then I can stand at times. And that is EXACTLY why we need the Tea Party active and alive.. and I’m the Vice Chair of the Transylvania County NC GOP..
wayne hennie: I cannot abide paul’s foreign policy…
I, too, have been looking at Fox News with a jaundiced eye of late. After watching a show for so long, you feel the changes, and cannot quite put a finger on what they are….but you start to feel differently and maybe you start to listen with a different intention.
Since I was involved with the Cain Train, I was specifically interested in my candidate and found that I was very disapointed with Fox News and how they handled the entire situation. OR, they just never mentioned Herman at all when addressing the candidates. IT WAS THEN THAT I BEGAN TO TAKE NOTE. I voted for Herman in Orlando and kept looking for a true picture of what had transpired there…and never saw it. I HAVE NEVER LIKED CHRIS WALLACE…I feel he has a nasty attitude.
josie: agreed per wallace…and you have perfectly articulated their handling of Herman…it was an insult to his supporters and a complete abrogation of their responsibility as news channel…
Yep, I’m done with FOX too, from now on I go where the truth is being told MSNBC with morning Joe, then Chris Matthews and over to CNN. Hearing all this crap from the Republican establishment like Rove and Krauthammer. I think I will vote for Obama the real Marxist.
scorp3j: the truth is that the liberal channels don’t pretend to be anything other than hardline liberals…but fox pretends it is something else and then slants news and attempts to mislead…
I am wondering why no one has dared mention Newt Gingrich’s membership in The Council on Foreign Relations? Their New World Order agenda also lists George Soros and John Rockefeller as members. Can this be a true conservative? They certainly are not!
darlene: whether one subscribes to that or not…what we do need to consider is newt’s relationships w/ pelosi, his supporting government healthcare, global warming initiatives, not to mention his roots to inside the beltway…he on his own is more of the same…I would have supported him on a Herman ticket as v/p…but not as president…
Mychal, exactly right. I stopped watching the government propaganda networks many years ago, As of this past year i have also stopped watching FOX News. They are merely re spinning the the same headlines as the media. They regurgitate the point of view, bring on RINOs in conservative clothing to make establishment points and are only interested in starting cat fights between candidates. The way they try to taunt people into attacking each other in order to make headlines is like pouring gas on the fire.
I get most of my headlines, and opinions, before I research them myself, from talk radio and conservative blogs. If we all voted with our pocket books and stopped supporting these “destructive” “news” shows we might get them, over time, to be more honest.
ben: good point…that said where we should really start is in the schools before the children turn out like these reporters…
I watch 20 – 30 minutes of the morning show just because, but thats about it.
cavuto is the only one there I respect.
dmacleo: I would watch opening minutes of hemmer and maccallum just to see how they handled Herman…but could barely stomach that…I like Cavuto and I like Greta…she is liberal but she leaves her liberalism at the door…and she always has Rush on her show…
Massie, Anyone over 30 who would believe any of the barnyard material being forked around on the so called news channels is a lot more gullible than any of us under 30. All that manure is just to keep up the ratings. It’s not news, it’s bull droppings. I can get better informative but biased opinions from my teachers, and one of them is a dimwit. Before you chide me on my choice of using the word dimwit to describe someone, like you did Amy on a previous post,to the under 30 crown a dimwit is a person who has crazy ideas that could prove to be dangerous. Obama is a DIMWIT.
alan: a couple things…first the facts are that plenty of people under 30 bought obama’s lies and believe what they hear on the so-called purveyors of news who are left wing…it si the same thing w/ those on the right who would rather have hannity and o’reilly think for them…do yourself a favor and research the demographics for left-wing news…chk out the california university system and see what they think just by way off example…next pursuant to the word dimwit: I used it…unlike some I understand the meaning of the words I employ…and finally dimwit is not the word word(s) I use to describe obama…I use words like “morally opprobrious, dishonest, mendacious, liar, Erebusic, elapid” are the most common and frequent I use…and if you are trying to get my attention or make a point…addressing me by my last name is the least effective way…
Another very informative article! I actually heard Larry Sinclair give an interview on a local radio station yesterday about the interludes with our dear President and this guy is very believable and extremely credible. I mean he gave very specific details and wrote a book in which he could have been sued for if it was not the truth. Unlike Herman Cain, I wish these women would write books so he can sue them out of existence. Perhaps there would be some vindication from all of this. You know I saw a clip of Bill O’Reilly on Jay Leno show and he degraded and maligned Herman Cain to no end. It was almost like his mission was to go on that show to degrade Mr. Cain. Now, I find it interesting that when Herman Cain was in the race O’Reilly asked him if he would make and appearance on his show every week! What a hypocrite O’Reilly is and then he conveniently throws Mr. Cain under the bus. It is also interesting that Megan Kelly lived in that same building. I wonder why we never heard anything about that! Even our conservative radio talk show host didn’t even touch that!
I have come to the conclusion that Mr. Cain did bring some of this criticism on himself by associating with a slut like Ginger White, and more importantly he didn’t tell his wife. I contend that if he had told his wife she would have seen straight through her and told him to leave this indecent and vial women alone. But, I believe he is really a good guy and that he really thought he was helping her. But, he didn’t know who she really was and he probably believed that she would have never twisted the story to a make it out to be a scandalous and salacious 14-year affair. This perhaps points to his naivety for not knowing or understanding the dept to which the establishment Republicans and Dems will go to to destroy a candidate who is a threat. I am really mad at Mr. Cain for getting out of the race, but I understand that when you are in the heat of a battle not being prepared for something like this is a bit overwhelming. I do believe that he should partition for a television show on CNN to give fox some competition.
elizabeth lovett: larry sinclair has more credibility than any of Herman’s accusers…
Yes, but how do we get the Larry Sinclair story in the open? The Obama media won’t cover it. — Is there ANY chance Herman Cain will return to the race?
Anna,
I am all for a write in campaign for Herman Cain. I believe it can be done in the primaries. Every since he left the race the level of discourse has become more intense. Perhaps
it was just heating up!
elizabeth lovett: I would love to see a massive write in for him in the primary states where he is on the ballot…
anna zachariah: we get sinclair story out there by talking about it…we keep forcing it out there they will ignore it for as long as they can…then they will attack sinclair…but we should keep it out there…
How about the breaking story re: Michelle O’s affair w/ a secret service agent that the Globe is breaking? Pretty sad to say these gossip rags are doing more for ‘journalism’ than what we’ve come to expect from the Enemedia (to quote Pam Gellar). Boy that story sure was spiked quicky!!
chris: its not the first time rumors have surfaced about her spreading herself around…I just wonder what it take for someone to be attracted to something that hideous…even w/out looks inner beauty makes a person beautiful…but in her case she is uglier and more repulsive inside than she is outside and that is saying a lot…
I also well remember the story about Megyn (Kendal)Kelly having the hots for Brit Hume & that’s why she got ‘exiled’ to NYC. As for Chris Wallace-I read a quote from his father saying essentially how wonderful I’m-a-nutta-job (Amadinejab) was after interviewing him. I can see the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree!!!
chris: that’s exactly why she was sent packing to nyc…which brings me back to her activity in chicago…but that’s for another day…but what I will say is these aree the people who were eager to believe the worst about Herman Cain…
I’ve just about had it with all ‘news’ purveyors. It seems that they all have swelled heads and egos that require a large warehouse to contain.
News – as opposed to opinion – is supposed to be about verifiable facts, not about the person delivering it. I lost my faith in the news a long time ago – when Walter Cronkite was revealed to be a far-left liberal I had already figured that out for myself.
The fact that Fox News does a better job of reporting the news than the other channels says nothing about how good Fox is, it’s more about how bad the others are.
nevadasteve: precisely my point…
It appears that Sean Hannity’s candidate, Newt Gingrich, is no liked by Michelle Maulkin and she is destroying him and calling Newt out on his hypocrisy. But Sean was perfectly fine when Herman Cain was being degraded every night for sexual harassment accusations with no evidence.
elizabeth lovett: I have no use for hannity…he sold me out so he could kiss al sharpton’s behind…he’s a phony conservative who figured out how to play the game so he can get the pols on his show…and charge $50K per speech…
