My friends and I continually e-mail each other regarding our gripes about members of Congress and their unbelievable perks, and we can see nothing positive about Obama and his family. We know changes must be made with Congress being able to take such splendid care of themselves, but our complaining to each other solves nothing. I have recently send them this letter:
“I know we all have received numerous e-mails regarding the complaints with Congress and how disturbing the whole situation has become and about those who will promise anything to get their foot in the door to become a career politician with those unbelievable perks. You know the story. We get those e-mails, agree with them, shake our fists and maybe say a few choice expressions, then pass them along. In time, we go through similar cycles repeatedly. That is fine, and I appreciate getting them.
But what is actually being done about the problems? Questions have been going around in my head, then I received an e-mail asking me the same questions. We circulate these e-mails, but really what can we do about our complaints? What can we do to achieve results that need to be taken care of? Does anyone have any answers? Do we acquire petitions? If so, who should receive them? Surely not Congress! Do you think they would slap their own hands? All I have are more questions, and no answers whatsoever. Perhaps I am confessing to my ignorance, but I have no idea where to begin, and I am not at all embarrassed to seek help. Our government is out of control, and all of us need to take some type of action. We can’t afford to sit back and just wring our hands.
Congress freely distributes all of those benefits and salary increases among themselves, but who has the authority to remove those privileges and make some changes? Very few in Congress said they would not accept their paychecks if the military was not paid… remember that a short time ago? They said they had earned their pay and needed it…..and did they think the military didn’t earn their paychecks and that they didn’t need their paychecks? Ask these fellows over there in harm’s way, day after day…..under constant stress with no relief, and this may be their fifth or sixth tour of duty. But that gets me on a different soapbox.
The manner of realization and priorities of members of Congress is truly unbelievable and frightening in my opinion, and they are leading our country. Of course, we are all concerned with how and where they are leading us. It seems no one is listening to us. How do we get their attention? Do we each write our representative and lower the boom? I think we are desperate for answers. I personally welcome any suggestions. Time is of the essence.
Thanks,
Tommie

Dear Mychal Massie, you are truly a MAN who has an honest forthright ability to say what you know to be truth! I have tried to assist some of the blind followers who now think that this regime along with Pelosi is taking the American people for fools. Spending foolishly on vacations and parties while many are losing their homes; he almost says outright when he says ‘sacrifice’…he really means ‘tough, suck it up’ while they travel on our expense all over the world. Ruining our reputation world wide, making the national debt be one that will never be paid back or gain credibility for the dollar…not ever again, unless we truly do something about it. I don’t think anyone cares if he was a black man, a white man, an asian, if the job of leading this country was honest and living by our constitution and truly keeping us as a nation to be proud of. I love this country, the flag our fathers fought for, the freedoms so many rush to this country to have, and I love the kind of person you are to say it, to live by it and to try and educate the ‘sleepers’. God Bless you and keep up the good work, let us now educate the people to choose an individual worthy to be a leader …our President..and put the entire Obama regime out to pasture. Amen
Tommie,
In order to accomplish something meaningful and effective all of us have to get involved at the local level in your Republican District Committee. Most committees have more seats than volunteers. Go to their meetings and become a committee member. Committee members are the people who choose the people who are put on the voting ballot. We have to start at that grass roots level. In the 2010 elections we elected somewhere around 90 new conservatives to the house. in the next election we need to replace all the RINOs with conservatives. The only way we can do that is at the local level. If RINOs run the committees, RINOs get on the ballot. If conservatives control the committees, conservatives get on the ballot.
Emailing, writing, faxing and texting may get the attention of some third level assistant on a congressman’s staff but it will get you very little else. The only way to get their attention is to become part of group that chooses them.
