I do solemnly swear

It would be easy to go on again and describe the president as a rich-hating, race-baiting, tax-raising, corporate hazing, foreign-leaning, forever preening, Windy City Gas-Man, Ken-yan, divisive, abrogating, derisive, abdicating, wealth-stealing, welfare-dealing rebel without a clue. To avoid that temptation is almost as difficult as visiting all 57 states, and to continue a weekly harangue about his anti-American proclivities might be seen as callow and mindless…………………like making fun of the Special Olympics, for instance.
So today’s roll call subject is to inquire whether anyone in Congress remembers the oath they took upon assuming office or if they really understood it, two questions largely rendered moot given their heinous dereliction of duty. The oath follows, so grab an air sickness bag if you have one handy:
“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

We can parse that oath and the subsequent violations, heretofore so unimaginable that the Founding Fathers are spinning in their tombs at such a rate that they could generate electricity. (Don’t tell Mr. Obama or he’s likely to endow their graveyards with another $532 million and call it Solyndra II) The disgusting reality is that the business and economic acumen of the average congressional member is no higher than that of a high school freshman, yet they are spending money like vicarious moguls playing a game of Monopoly, and we’re expecting them to recognize and correct a self-created and imminent catastrophe and the anti-American antics that emanate from the Oval Office?

An old golf partner of mine was a psychiatrist called Dr. Z., and he once told me something so profound I quit looking for my lost ball. He said, “For pathological types, not getting caught in a lie is the same as telling the truth,” and I can’t think of a better example of unchecked conceit than the words Mr. Obama used in front of a bank of cameras today. He admitted the depth and scope of the recession was of a greater magnitude than he and his toadies and tyros had anticipated, conveniently omitting that collectively they inanely believed it was possible to spend our way out of it. He then added, “The deficit has increased because less tax revenue is coming in due to the recession.”

There are fibs, white lies, damn lies, fish tales, partial truths, self-deceptions, and whoppers, but that very utterance belongs in a category of prevarication nobody has ever dared attemp for fear of being put in a straitjacket. The question is whether we are witnessing delusion, dementia, or a pre-determined plan to bring ruination to America.

↑ Grab this Headline Animator

The U.S. does not have a $1.1 Trillion budget overrun because tax revenues are down. We have it because of insane spending policies from the president and a Congress too timid or ignorant to embrace their job descriptions. The Constitution states: “The President, Vice President, and all civil Officers of the U.S. shall be removed from Office on impeachment for Conviction of treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” Does the $45 Million Obama dispensed to Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson for his health care vote count for anything? How about the $350 Million given to Lousiana so Senator Mary Landrieu would change her mind to vote for Obamacare? Iran is determined to go nuclear or become the national version of a suicide bomber while trying. It has sworn to destroy Israel and threatened to interrupt or attempt permanent disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, yet the president is intent upon neutering the military, reducing our nuclear capabilities to levels of the 1950’s, and placing our country in an inferior position of strength to China and Russia. Meanwhile, the U.S. already has 1.4 million miles of gas pipelines distributing product to 170 million homes and businesses, 55,000 miles of crude oil trunk pipelines, and 95,000 miles of pipelines for refined petroleum products, and Mr. Obama stonewalls the 1700 mile Keystone Pipeline project on bogus environmental concerns, killing jobs, and keeping our country dependent on the fickle whims of OPEC.

There is no exam given to become a member of Congress. There is no license required. There is no criteria set to determine competence. If you’re popular in your state or district? Baby, you’re in. With the bar set so low and attrition-resistant cling-ons unwilling to relinquish their grips on power, we see no congressional indignation and only an occasional outburst of feigned umbrage, normally hollow rhetoric designed for a sound-bite populace.
It is numbingly frustrating to watch this lethargy, incompetence, and cowardice, for not a stalwart patriot has yet emerged from the rubble to lead from the front. The noose tightens daily around the necks of taxpayers and corporations and Congress remains tethered to a Jim Jones character, eagerly awaiting instructions to take another sip of Kool Aid.

About Dan Bubalo

Daniel J. Bubalo was hired by the venerable firm of Kidder Peabody in 1978, before becoming a shareholder and partner with Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1984. He ultimately bought his own brokerage firm and steered it successfully through the market crash of 1987 before starting a venture capital and advisory company in the early 1990's. He has been a broker, manager, owner, trader, financier, and advisor on mergers and acquisitions, and throughout his career has opined regularly about the intractable nature of government and its inextricable hold and influence on financial markets. A securities violation landed him in federal prison from 1999 to 2003 which served to only sharpen his observations, watching in dismay at the dissolution of the Glass-Steagall Act, the 2001 dot.com bubble burst without so much as an investigation or arrest, and has since lectured between 2005 and 2011 at the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University on government intervention and ethics, as well as being presciently critical about Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank. If only more of the American people would wake up and smell the coffee…To many of them everything is just fine and dandy………..Maybe when they have to stand in line for hours to be given a cup of rice and a slice of bread will they wake up and see that they have lost everything that we veterans have fought for these past two-hundred-plus years. IF WE DON’T DO A CLEAN-SWEEP IN NOVEMBER, WE WILL HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT OURSELVES………..WAKE UP AMERICA !!!

It occurs to me, just for the sake of discussion or to be contrary that it is not the right or the left or the republicans or democrats or the liberals or conservatives or any other juxtaposition of left and right that is the cause of all the of the problems so well articulated above, but, to quote the immortal Pogo, “We have found the problem and it is us”.

    • sumitch February 22, 2012 at 10:54 am #

Actually, it was “We have found the enemy and it is us”. And the fine comments are below, not above (unless some more comments are made that are posted above this).

A brilliant article, and accompanied by some very astute observations from readers. One phrase that really strikes hard is Marilyn’s “clean sweep” because that is what it is going to take to stop and reverse this outright treason being spewed from the White House and knowingly aided and abetted by both the legislative and judicial branches. How could they NOT see and know what they are doing and allowing to be done? They can’t possibly be that brain dead (well, some of them are) so there must be much deeper reasons behind their ongoing betrayal of the American people. Follow the money is undoubtedly part of it along with the pervasive influences of left wing socialism and communism among the “elite” who would rule us. But the bottom line of responsibility for this cancerous debacle is the voters (including the dead and otherwise fraudulent ones) that elect and re-elect these traitorous scum over and over because of their inexcusable, unthinking complacency and greed for more government handouts.
A “clean sweep” is what it will take but it is looking more and more as if we have gone beyond being able to “fix” it at the ballot box in time to save much of our constitutional republic form of government. Too many people have realized they can in effect vote largess for themselves from the public treasury and have become too dumbed-down or just plain stupid, to see that they are voting away their own freedom and that of everyone else. So, what is the alternative to a clean sweep in elections? We will see that in action when the government decides it is in firm enough control to actually attempt to disarm us. I have become convinced they have purposely so insulated themselves from real people that they are collectively out of touch with the heartbeat of America. Perhaps many of them, including the one currently desecrating OUR White House by his very presence, and the so-called leaders in the senate and congress, do not really believe the enormity of the conflagration they are on the very verge of igniting. If or when it comes to that then at the very least they will find themselves out of a job and have none of the perks they have been busy voting for themselves over the years. Yes, it appears we have become a nation of sheep and deserve what is coming but there are a great many of us old sheep dogs that do not feel we deserve what the stupid sheep have wrought and will not walk docilely into subjugation. It’s been a great day of feedback thanks to you and many others, and it occurred to me that I owed a big apology:

I would like to say I’m sorry to ALL high school freshman.

It was thoughtless and cruel for me to compare Congress to you, and in so doing I did a great disservice to high schools everywhere.

And y’all just thought Al Gore could whine! If the GOP can redirect the candidates fighting each other and somehow get them pointed in a direction where some dirt might just fall upon the Teflon Prince. If who ever can survive the microscopic search of there back ground and the shouts of racist. That is when the whine will really begin! Should the GOP, the Tea Party, or Independents get someone that can beat this guy the whining and vote counting will go on and on and on.
Herman Cain had a plan but the microscope and lame stream media got to him, If Mitt Romney has a plan it’s probably to ask the wizard for a spine when he does get to capital city, I feel Newt Gingrich may in reality have a plan but fear of the “R” word has him muffled, Ron Paul?? Enough said, and last but not least is Rick Santorum who as yet has not been to the microscope.
There needs to be a plan as this is going to be one tough nut to crack, and if cracked the next five years are not going to be a walk in the park. If not cracked that sucking sound we’ll all hear will be this once great country going down the pipe.

    • dan bubalo February 20, 2012 at 9:09 pm #

I hear you loud and clear, Spark. A unified plan and a unified front will rally a group that is clearly fragmented at the moment, though I believe there is time to create a voice of “one.”

It peeves me that Republicans seem to be running plays from the media’s playbook and indulging them with the infighting, and the media just keeps pouring gas on the flames.

When I was young we looked to the grown-ups for guidance. I just don’t know where or why all the conservative grown-ups are hiding at the moment.

dan bubablo: outstanding…his narcissism is such that he views himself as above all and over all…note the way he cocks his head and the way he stares down at people…evidence the way he talks down to people and how poorly he takes criticism…add to that that he is a pathological liar who mendacity is boundless…I am increasingly of the opinion that he is being painted in the wrong light…I am prepared to believe (and prove) that he is mentally and emotionally a dictator…if the door were opened even a crack he would exercise similar character as lenin, mao, stalin…add to those sinister qualities the racist hatred of his evil harridan and we have a monster…

    • dan bubalo February 20, 2012 at 6:23 pm #

I agree wholeheartedly, yet the question remains why Congress sits by idly, or worse yet, why they enable.

There is a means through which they could effect the change of which the country is in dire need, or at the very least limit the damage upon which he is intent on inflicting, so though my utter disgust with him knows no boundary, Congress is competing very, very hard for an equal if not greater amount of my contempt.

  8. Sandy February 20, 2012 at 3:53 pm #

All the right adjectives you listed for the “man” in the White House can’t alleviate my frustration towards him, and Congress. It’s getting so that I’m seriously wondering if we can knock him off his throne in November, and totally upset the Congress too.

I can only completely concur with Mr. Bubalo’s statement, except I have long relinquished any doubt as to the intent of this illegal alien, and the full intent and agenda of the majority of those in our illegal central goverment whose primary intent is to see to it, a world government is established, with America a subject nation under it.
I was extremely pleased with the added information regarding the selling of our sovereignty in secret, by once again, an executive order on an issue which demands the full and complete participation of the whole of Congress.
It is criminal that the seniors in each house have failed to demand the illegal alien to step down and properly approach each house in the legal manner demanded by our Constitution, to the Senate, because such action must by law, be a treaty, and thus ratified by the Senate. It is unusual, but the House must also be consulted, because a considerable portion of Alaska’s wealth, the Nation’s wealth, is set to be literally given away, and the law demands the House be party to all issues of fiscal matters.
It is bad enough to have as president, an illegal alien who has not yet shown any form of citizenship evidence which would stand in court, would deliberately hide this deliberate destructive measure from the Nation he is doing his utmost to destroy, we should expect this now, having three plus years of experience.
That neither the Senate, knowing this is a Treaty Matter and cannot be made to be any less, yet has failed to demand a full measure of inclusion, both in the decision part, as well as the final ratification, is ample demonstration of the disqualified “leadership” of the Senate, and sufficient evidence to have such “leaders” removed for sheer incompetence. That the House “leadership” is equally silent, when the issue is billions in revenue and real value of waters, mineral rights, and maritime authority, a simple requirement which puts any National issue in the baliwick of the House, yet those “leaders” also, have failed utterly, to even be given a blind copy, shows the utter incompetence, or abject intraseigance, and together, with the Senate’s abject failure, suggests total complicity of Congress, with the ongoing Crime of Treason, being committed by an illegal sitting president, who is in the middle of at least four or five ongoing criminal conspiracies all of which are felonies, of major proportions, and which involved international acts of treason, both with what is a physical attack on Mexico, while simultaneously treating with Russia, to give away billions of what belongs to Americans, yet most of our citizens will sit at home, ignore this if they cross it, and those we elected, those who took oaths, will simply go forward, knowing they are not accountable, because we are too weasely a people to stand on truth, stand on the principles our founders did, which gave us this cushy life, and meant we did not grow up as subjects of a sovereign State, but grew up as Sovereign Citizens of a Subject State, but which we don’t have the testicular fortitude to stand upon, and hold as principle we will die for, if necessary.
But we have the exact government we have deliberately chosen, we elected these people knowing who and what they were, and we chose them anyway. God could not look down on this Nation and possibly think; “yes, these are My People”, so many who would be his, won’t stand up, and so many who do their best to stand taller than those around them give the finger to the sky, trying to believe they are giving it to nothing, and mocking those who claim there is a God who Created us.
Wise people would pray judgment be long delayed, because there is little which exists today, which should not be burned away.
    Sincerely,
    John McClain

In addition to those considerations, Russia has long desired greater access for its naval fleet above and beyond the limitations of Vladivostok.

What’s next? Giving them a couple slips in San Diego or Honolulu? ?

Linda, when have you heard LTC West mention ANYTHING about Obama’s ineligibility or use of a fraudulent social security number or multiple names? You haven’t. Of all people, he could be an excellent man to insist on a full investigation of Obama as an imposter, fraud and traitor. NO ONE IN EITHER HOUSE OF CONGRESS WILL TOUCH OBAMA. Oh, they make all the appropriate objections to Obama’s machinations, but they continually sweep them under the proverbial carpet after a few days. Remember his illegal “recess” appointments that were completely illegal? Those people are working in those positions. Congress refuses to call Soetoro/Soebarkah/Obama on the carpet for his highly questionable Executive Orders used to bypass the Congress.

Yes, there seems to be a conspiracy or a whole slew of folks are being blackmailed/threatened with their lives.

Everybody ought to ask, “why would the Elite put in power a guy with so many things in the ‘closet’”? Of course that is to CONTROL him.

As John McCain (the above blogger) pointed out, Barry has been directed to flush the country down the toilet. The USA is the biggest thing standing in the way of a New World Order.

Still, I think the Elite are racist and when they get done with Barry, they’ll throw him under the bus, maybe even pulling a JFK on him so they can get folks (led by the CIA “terrorists” that will be brought back for the “occasion”) to “RIOT”, leading to Martial Law, and when it’s shown how Congress and the Supreme Court have been complicit, have the UN declare the USA defunct and “save” it with their New World Order. (but will they install Barry as leader, as he’ probably been told will happen, or will he be resting next to JFK?)

        • BorderCollieMan February 21, 2012 at 6:48 pm #

stevor – probably the latter. But I hope not next to JFK. He does not deserve any honor. The belly of a shark would be more fitting.

Thanx, Dan! Now i’m starting to get a vision. I think i’m starting to see what’s really going on. And there has to be some serious financial gain from these actions, or no one would go to as much effort as Barry is to pull off these feats for no return on his efforts. I have even heard that some ‘Public Servants’ have actually gotten very rich while undermining the well-being of our land. It’s hard to believe, but that’s what i’ve heard. Isn’t that treason? Hmmmm. And isn’t the penalty for treason the forfeiting of your life? I wonder if you could actually make money by forcing people to purchase bogus health-care services that they don’t want, and can’t afford. I wounder if someone would actually reward you for doing that? Hmmmm. Wow, some of these things are starting to make some sense to me now. Shalom, Ya’ll.

Thanks, Dan. Great article. I was just reading about the Alaskan Islands being handed over to Russia. I don’t know when Obama only is expected to sign the release of property but Congress seems to not have had any say in the matter. Am I missing something?
    http://www.statedepartmentwatch.org/GiveawaySummary.htm
You can read about the Islands by visiting this site.
All the antics that our Un-American Government are pulling has not raised the “dander” of those who can do something about it. I can and do write my State Senators but it doesn’t do any good. They “will take my views into consideration…” So, where do we go from here? It isn’t just the man in the Oval Office that is offensive. I place a lot of the blame on “Legislature.” Of course, when Legislature branch does not agree with Presidential branch, the president takes matters into his own hands, by-passing The Constitution. Even the Judicial branch has become a joke. As for Iran, they are just barbarian enough to destroy the planet Earth. So I have read, United States if infiltrated with many Iranian Terrorists. I still think they have been planted here and intend to work within to help destroy this country. The Russian (B…cannot spell his name) who slammed his shoe on the desk, said that the United States would destroy itself; not Russia. How true his words have come to fruition. Now, with jackasses in control, it will be difficult at best to reverse/remove only one branch of government. It appears to be a “clean sweep” in order to regain some dignity and get back to some kind of normalcy. I’ve never met or known a U.S. Veteran who fought for Socialism or Communism. Have you? (Benedict Arnold, the exception, if he could be considered a Veteran)

    • RVD February 20, 2012 at 11:43 am #

Marilyn, I believe it was Nikita Krushchev who slammed his shoe on the desk at the UN….but it was Stalin who said they would crush the USA from within…..and not a shot is being fired!

I just want to add that Dan Bubalo writes a terrific article today! And so did John McClain, Caveman and Border Collie Man (their response posts)…..And I agree totally with all! I am going to repost the link to Dan’s column here on another board. I know they will find it interesting, being a 90% conservative bunch….and maybe the other 10% could learn a thing or two!

Thanks, RVD, for correct Russian name. The important thing to remember is that not a shot has to be fired by any counrty…We are in the midst of intimidation and demoralization and now a bunch of plural “Crisis.” I believe that is how Communisim is built. Next will be confiscation of arms and that will be the total end of American Freedom. We simply can’t let the heathen sitting in the Oval Chair have another four years and must keep throwing out the trash, Senators and House of Reps, each November, if not before!
