Releasing oil from strategic oil reserve is nothing more than sleight of hand. It doesn’t solve the problem of dependence on foreign oil. The way to accomplish that is simple and we have the means to do same. Allowing china to buy fuel producing acreage in texas while restricting drilling here is even more specious than giving money to brazil to drill and promising to be their best customer. The strategic oil reserve is to be used in case of emergency, not as a means of political expediency. Instead of using high fuel prices as means to push his agenda of bio fuels, he should allow the free-market to produce jobs and fuel supplies by using the technology they drill, produce and supply us w/ fuel for the next century. Just one more example of not only zero leadership, but a determination to force his agenda on us even though it is unwanted and destructive.

Anyone that thinks this will change to cost of gasoline at the pump is just naive.
