In an August of 2011 column, Nero In The White House, I wrote: “Mr. Nixon and Clinton lied to save their backsides. Although, I would argue there are no plausible explanations for doing what they did, I could entertain arguments pursuant to understanding their rationales for lying. But in the case of Obama, he lies because he is a liar. He doesn’t only lie to cover his misdeeds–he lies to get his way. he lies to belittle others and to make himself look presentable at their expense. He lies about his faith, his associations, his mother, his father, and his wife. He lies and bullies to keep his background secret. I wrote: “Never in my life, inside or outside of politics, have I witnessed such dishonesty in a political leader. He is the most mendacious political figure I have ever witnessed. Even by the low standards of his presidential predecessors, his narcissistic, contumacious arrogance is unequalled. Using Obama as the bar, Nero would have to be elevated to sainthood.”
Speaking in Chapel Hill at the Carmichael Arena on Tuesday, Obama displayed not just his commonality, he purposefully lied to what I would believe was a handpicked audience of students–and as he never misses a chance to do he was trying to belittle someone else to make himself look good. Said behavior is typical of someone who carries the scars of the type of parents he had. But such insecure, puerile, and dishonest behavior isn’t the character trait of an emotionally stable leader.
In boasting about his plans to keep student interest rates on federal loans from doubling, he said: “One Republican congresswoman said just recently–I am going to quote this because I know you guys will think I’m making this up. She said she had very little tolerance for people who tell [her] they graduate with debt because there’s no reason for that.” He mockingly continued: “I am just quoting here, she said students who rack up student loan debt are just sitting on their butts, having opportunity dumped in [their] lap.” He finished with: “Now can you imagine saying something like that?”
Actually, Barry, what we can’t imagine is that you are such a preening liar. The Congresswoman he was referencing was Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-NC, and her exact words were: “I have very little tolerance for people who tell me that they graduate with $200,000 of debt or even $80,000 of debt because there’s no reason for that. We live in an opportunity society and people are forgetting that. I remind folks that the Declaration of Independence says life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You don’t sit on your butt and have it dumped in your lap.”
Rep. Foxx, unlike Obama and his wife, didn’t have her education handed to her because she was Kenyan, black, Muslim, or because the school needed another black to make its quota. She worked as a janitor while it took her seven years to get her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She graduated in 1968 at age 25 without borrowing any money.
I have previously said Obama needs blacks, Hispanics, and the youth/college age to win. His administration has been one lie after another and Tuesday was no different. The tragedy is that many of those students believed what he was saying, and most of the others didn’t care one way or the other, as long as he was promising them something. One girl, seated behind Obama, shook her head in disgust, wrongly believing Foxx had said what Obama falsely claimed.
But, that student wasn’t thinking about finishing school with $100,000-$200,000 in student loan debt alone. She wasn’t thinking about the credit card debt and car payments she was going to have on top of that student loan debt. She was happy to be a prop for someone who will say anything and tell any lie necessary to have his way.
Let me remind me you of something else I’ve been saying. Extending the lowered student loan interest rate is setting up another financial bubble because there is no way to pay for it. That doesn’t matter to Romney because he agrees with Obama that the plan should be extended another year. And the Republicans, who are fully aware there is no way to pay for it, are stuttering and stammering “we have to find a way to pay for it” as they line up behind him.
Which leads us to another point I’ve been making. Romney is no different from Obama and if he were to win the Republicans will pass whatever legislation he wanted. Ergo, it would be more of the same.

I challenge you to look to truly great black men like Walter E. Williams, Thomas Sowell, Ken Blackwell, Vernon Robinson, Col. Allen West, and Mychal Massie just to name a few. Okay, I agree we will have to keep Romneys’ and all Republicans’ feet to the fire. We have a long way to go. Getting our foot in the door is what counts right now. I believe Romney has been proven the candidate most likely to do so. (So I consider the merits of his capability vs any other candidate, moot for the purpose of this discussion.) Of one thing I am virtually certain: never again will we let the Republican party slide back to the left. Not without a major dogfight. Our youth do not comprehend Socialism or Communism. They may read about it but do not have the maturity or knowledge or lived in the real world long enough to actually realize what all entails. When students think they will receive a reprieve on their schoolloans they do not stop and think about the consequences; the many years they will be paying off their school loans and the more money the lending institutions get. Of course, if they land a job with the Federal Government, their loans are forgiven. One lie begets another and the more proficient the liar, the better it sounds but sooner or later….it will all come back to hit the liar in the head like a two by four.

I have been screaming about the ballots being sent to Spain to be counted. I wonder what BO offered them to be sure the vote would be favorable to him. When I receive a letter or an email from one of our Republican Senators or Representatives I write them back and tell them when they start acting like real Republicans and standing up for our country and blocking BO and the Democrats on every dirty trick and lie they foist off on this once great country, I might make a donation. Is there anything we can do to keep the ballots here? The Democrats have become so brazen and bold in their disdain of this country. Wake up, American!!! Your country is being taken away from you and you don’t even seem to care. Well, when we are all in the soup line, you might regret your inactivity . . . and that applies to Democrats, too. I can hardly bear to talk to my husband, he watches Fox news all the time and is so negative. I long for happier days for this country but all the politicians are out only for themselves and their supporters. We cry “why does no one do anything?” and the reality is that we can only vote….I think there are good honest congressmen/women out there but they need to put on their flame proof suits and get busy. Where is the courage? Where is the ability to recognize that the emperor has no new clothes and to say so?
It’s just really heartbreaking. The best country ever, liberty, freedom, courage, all melted and going down the drain. We will lose everything. I know someone who just moved to Equador because she and her family were afraid. They sold everything and just left….

I am more than a bit taken aback by such remarks, but purely livid with anger. My older sister looked at her schedule and credits as she ended her junior year of high school, realized she was short a couple of minor credits, found a small college in Kansas which accepted her application without graduation, and opened their doors. My parents paid the first semester tuition, she took a job as a waitress, and she graduated three years later with a Batchlor’s in computer language. She then took a job, and continued school and got her engineering degree in as a software engineer, and had zero debt upon graduation.
My younger sister was paid for by my parents, as the last kid, and was considering what to do at U. of Chicago, when my dad asked, “whacha gonna do when you get your degree?”. She took offense to his attitude, looked at her standing, added a couple classes to her second semester third year, and graduated with a batchlor’s, got in her old car, and drove to Berkley, where she got admitted, set up her cello and case in the local park and started her four hours of daily practice, and paid her first year post graduate, from the money people threw in her cello case. She graduated with a software enginnering degree and zero debt.
I didn’t go to college precisely because I am dyslexic, and was so at a time it was not diagnosed. I enlisted in the Marines, made a career out of it, educated myself without school, and run my own machine shop doing engineering work and design. While in the Corps, I taught the Constitution for some fifteen years, constantly, and I taught advanced electronics in the secret sector, requiring the highest levels of math, and was among the foremost instructors in my class, again with no debt.
What that Senator said was “John Wayne” American all the way. What obama/sotero said she said was merely a harsher rendition of the same thing. What he said in a lie, is exactly what I would have put in any college student’s face.
As a Lance Corporal, with two years of active service, I couldn’t get a credit card without someone backing it. Today, high school students commonly get cards on their parents dime. We live in a Nation of spoiled brats, and the exceptions to this Rule, are the children of the men and women who are serving their Nation in war today.
Some of my best friends in the Corps were Blacks who chose it to start life with a job. Others were illegal aliens who turned themselves in, got a green card by enlisting, and served four years to earn citizenship. They were commonly among the most motivated, the most proud members, and the level of respect for Truth, Honor, God, Principle is equalled nowhere. I met a few sorry Marines in my twenty, maybe a handful, but I met worthless dogs every time I went on campus as a recruiter, both high schools, and far worse, colleges.
I enjoyed the challenge of college students coming up to the table the Captain and I set up, and was always eager to debate, regardless of the issue or topic.
We had great success, we found lots of patriotism, and we found far more boredom, idleness, and no forward looking intent, yet never from anyone interested in our presence.
College is a necessity to make it in this world of ours today, if you don’t want to have to buck the system each and every day. You do have to be properly ordered and propagandized to fit in, but if you want to live free, have your own thoughts, and be able to pursue your own ideas, you had better consider exactly what the teaching faculty is, and whether you can afford the indoctrination, rather than the education. I find it offensive that someone who never paid a dime of their own way through anything, and went to colleges they couldn’t even fathom with grades I can compete with, can denigrate the idea of actually earning one’s way through life, and not just college.
He may have only reflected the comment, in a lie, towards college, but he implied the ideal to life after college, and one might expect that time would include work.
He is one of the great many who have never worked in their life, and know nothing about it, and their comments reflect they can only see work as it appears from the outside.
Many years ago, I showed up in Iwakuni, Japan, on deployment, and checked in to the Avionics office, as I worked aviation electronics. The shredder was broken, and all the secret paperwork was being burned in a barrel by hand, and probably a barrel was accumulated each day. I took the shredder apart, found the main gear broken, and went to the machine shop to have one made. The kid there didn’t know how to make gears, and I wasn’t of the right specialty to work there, so I had him make me a round “blank” the right dimensions, took a hacksaw, a couple special Japanese saw files, and about four hours later I put an aluminum gear where a nylon gear used to be. It was fitted to the existing drive gear and I returned the machine to the office. When I said it was fixed, the clerk asked how, knowing I’d had no luck finding a gear. I told him I made the gear, and he replied, “wow, I didn’t know you could make gears, I thought you had to buy them”.
College students today are commonly equal to that same logic, and it is new to America. The idea of not being able to make something, but being able to buy it, is an example of the total lack of logic being taught, with lessons being “do as I say, don’t question why”.
If colleges taught logic, reason, rational thinking, they would have to end most of their sociology aspects because none of that makes any sense at all, to a rational being.
It is important to remember, most educated men of our founder’s day were self educated, with the basics taught at home, out of a Bible, and with a few costly books, and very careful study of the same material over and again, because real history, the truth, as was once commonly written, was in depth, required long study to glean all the important facts from it, and took even longer study to glean the principles which were behind the facts.
I doubt more than one in ten students is improved the slightest by college, and the vast majority should be going to trade schools, teaching real subjects and not colleges, where “fill in the blank” studies can take one to a doctorate, without learning anything useful. Why take a good look at the illegal alien, has he said anything anyone can suggest is intelligent, accurate, intellectual? Not that I’ve heard. By that I would say his wife outpaces him, and I don’t have much respect for anything she learned to find repulsive, as she has so well demonstrated.

As much as I want to like Romney, I haven’t been able to give him 100% of my support, but I will if he’s the Republican nominee. I want to see him address each and every offense Obama has played on this country. That’s the only way he’ll win. However, he’s wavering on matters that I earlier supported, such as immigration.

One thing that continues to amaze me is that people refuse to see what is so clear to many of us and should be to everyone. For anyone that can think for themselves he obviously should have never been allowed to run for president in the first place. There is no doubt in my retired military mind that they will pull out all stops to steal or circumvent the coming election, if we are even allowed to have one. Why isn’t the media, or republicans in congress and the senate screaming about a Spanish company reportedly owned and controlled by Geo. Soros getting the contract to count the votes? What? Are there no American companies with the capability of counting those votes? How much more in-our-faces can they get that they have no intention of allowing a free and honest election? I agree that Romney may not be much of an improvement though he tries to portray himself as much more conservative than I believe he is, and he was certainly not my choice though it was pretty clear from the beginning that he was the “machine’s” fair haired boy.
