Presidents Don’t Chest Bump And First Ladies Don’t Hump The Floor

Can you imagine the wife of the CEO of Exxon Mobil rolling around and gyrating up and down on the floor during a national television talk show hosted by a lesbian talk show host? Can you imagine President Dwight Eisenhower, President John Kennedy, or President Ronald Reagan doing a mac-daddy ghetto shuffle to a stage where they do chest bumps and fist bumps with those on the platform? Have you ever heard or witnessed Samantha Cameron, wife of the British Prime Minister, gyrating her way from late night show to late night show? Can you point to a time that President Reagan swaggered to the microphone at West Point stopping along the way to chest bump the cadets? Can you identify another wife of a world leader that behaves like Michelle Obama?

Have you ever seen the wife of General Colin Powell photographed time after time shaking her behind for school children? Can you imagine any scenario of First Lady Jackie Kennedy wallowing around on the floor in front of Ellen Degeneres and a national audience? Has any other First Lady behaved as this one has? Have you seen photos of the wives of the Fortune 100 companies appearing in public unkempt, tacky, and with pants so tight that nothing is left to imagination including the type of undergarment they are wearing?

Can you imagine former Naval Officer the late John Kennedy greeting those under his command as Obama does the troops under his command? Has any other First Lady been photographed in the equivalent of a cheap work-out video where afterward the athletic trainer made veiled, earthy references pursuant to her squats?

The answer to all the above questions is no. No other President, First Lady, or CEO of a top company has behaved as these two have. And therein lies the problem. He is the leader of the free world. That means there is to be an inherent respect for the office and position held. But with these two it appears they want to reduce the positions to that of social directors at a hip-hop party in Cabrini-Green.

The reducing of the Office of President to a fraternity house may have started with Bill Clinton, but the Obamas have reduced the Office to levels heretofore unwitnessed. PastFirst Ladies behaved with eloquence and demureness that in no way diminished them–while Hillary abandoned that Michelle has plumbed new levels of commonality.

In the eyes of those blacks who are sans understanding what it means to be president the Obamas are viewed as “keeping it real.” The problem with that is said behavior isn’t synonymous with the office and position they hold. Leaders, be they generals, CEOs, or presidents are called to a higher level of propriety than those occupying other positions. I’m reminded of a conversation between the Michael Douglas character and the Martin Sheen character in the film “The American President.” The Douglas character who was the President and the Sheen character who was the Chief of Staff were alone in the White House shooting pool late one evening. The Douglas character turned to Sheen’s character and told him he could call him by his first name when they were out of public view. He reminded Sheen’s character that Sheen had been the best man at his wedding. To which Sheen’s character responded Yes Sir, Mr. President.

There’s dignity and a requisite level of respect inherent in positions the magnitude of the president, CEO, etc., and those occupying same. That respect is a necessary protocol for the effectual operation of the office. I was a guest, a couple years back, at an event at the private residence of the British Ambassador. General and Mrs. Colin Powell were also in attendance. I can tell you that people were not walking up to General Powell giving him ghetto hugs and chest bumps. Mrs. Powell was not dressed in an outfit that was more suitable for lap dancing or Soul Train. We addressed General Powell as Mr. Secretary or General as we laughed and engaged in casual conversation about the evening, sports, etc. I’ve never walked up to a Congressperson and greeted them with a chest bump nor have they greeted me in such manner. It has always been with a hand shake.

This is why many blacks and young people have so little respect and have dim views of those who behave commensurate with the positions of leadership they hold. In the eyes of many blacks and liberal voters, Michelle Obama may be a rock star, but to those who understand the propriety of her position she is nothing more than a ghetto queen who wears expensive clothing that most of the time is in poor taste for the occasion and unflattering.

Obama’s speech, due to college I didn’t hear it. I heard transitions, inflections, intro, conclusion, that kinda stuff.

I must agree with your article. Looks like our culture keeps trying to get the approval of our youth by acting like teenagers. In my day, it was adults – parents, teachers, clergymen, etc. – that demonstrated what it meant to be an adult and how to behave, dress, etc. I was a Human Resources Manager for a large corporation and the new, young employees constantly tried to change the dress code for an administrative headquarters. I used to explain, there is a time and place for everything; such as, you wouldn’t wear your swimsuit to the prom and vice versa. So, no shorts are inappropriate for the office.

But back to the President. Even when he was campaigning for office, it drove me crazy that every time he was introduced by a female, he would have to put his hands on her back, kiss, and hug her. This was business – not your Saturday night party with friends. I have had to handle and discipline too many men in the workplace for similar “friendly” behavior. Why, because of the sexual harrassment laws passed by the Democrats. How does he know if these women don’t appreciate being man-handled? Also, many men do not like having someone pat them on the back when meeting. It’s respect for one’s space. Now, I’m a touchy-feeling person and will greet someone “I know well” with a more familiar greeting. But this man greets everyone this way. Watch him while he’s campaigning, also at his State of the Union speeches. He walks in and out kissing and hugging all the women as he goes by. Why, even I would know that meeting the Queen of England, you would not reach out and touch her. They did — and laud the media let them get away with it. I wouldn’t feel I could do that to them if meeting personally. What surprises me is that someone on the WH team that handles decorum, hasn’t groomed and educated them by now. And then, let’s talk about past first ladies. You didn’t see Hillary Clinton drinking beer from a bottle or up dancing and girating on the floor before. But in the last 6 months, this is what we see as she represents us around the world. She’s now been dragged down to the lowest common denominator for approval. Enough said.

Verit, perhaps you mistook my confidence in the American people for naivete. Our Founding Fathers fought like hell for this country, as did hundreds of thousands of men and women after them. Today’s Patriots are not of weak stock – our Forefather’s blood runs through our veins, and their spirit lives in our hearts. We can, and will, repair and rebuild in the wake of this administration. It is why we speak out against the blatant injustices and reach out to others like us. It is true, this administration will do as it likes, spitting in the faces of it’s perceived enemy, the American People, but make no mistake, we have survived before and we will survive this bump in the road of American History. It is my sincere hope that our votes will be our voice, and this time, with eyes wide open, we’ll not let them cheat their way into OUR HOUSE! I hope this clarifies my position.

Commoners, yes. But their behavior reminds me of rich kids whose parents have left the estate for an extended vacation. They are in the unique situation of having unlimited access to our taxpayer $$ and material resources. They’re going to jump on the furniture and try on the fancy jewels for as long as they can get away with it.

  5. dnr April 29, 2012 at 8:50 pm #

Thank you, sir, for pointing out the disgrace that is going on in the White House. I believe the _resident putting his feet up on the historic furniture, his constant smirking and whining, and the FLINO dressing, speaking, and acting inappropriately are all deliberate. They have no respect for the office that he occupies. (I use the word Occupy intentionally.) I believe their dress, behavior, and speech are intended to drag down the highest office in this great nation, and I pray that November will usher them out.

Once again you are right on the button! I’ve been sent a number of emails with still shots and videos of mo, and her penchant for wearing the wrong/inappropriate garment for the occasion.

What surprises me, is that I haven’t seen her included in some of the “Walmart People” videos. To say that she has poor taste, is an understatement, and even though she supposedly has quite a few personal assistants, obviously their advice is not taken, or they are as lacking as she, in the taste department.

As far as her husband is concerned, my only hope is that the Republicans use their combined voting power to usurp the arrogant, ignorant, pompous a**!

One thing I have learned in this long life (Thank God) of mine is this: Having a title, or lots of money does not guarantee “CLASS”! I have known People far from well off, or even middle class, who work as clerks, administrators, salespeople, and even your normal, everyday Mom, who have more class in their little pinky finger than either of these Obama’s will ever have! But sometimes, having the title and the money does bring out the real person……the “let’s jump on this bandwagon and make hey while we still can….doesn’t cost US anything”! These are what most “parasites” and “leeches” believe…..What they lack in class and humility they make up for in making complete fools of themselves and being loaded with, not class, but “crass”! That’s the Obama’s for You! They have disgraced the titles of President and First Lady of the United States!

i’m thinking back to when condoleeza rice was secretary of state, and represented our country with dignity, grace and elegance as well as wisdom. even though i sometimes disagreed with her she did not bow to despots and tyrants, and she served us to the best of her considerable abilities. unlike the present incumbent in that office she was never seen in a low life gin mill, playing the clown to a crowd of drunken strangers. sadly the same goes for barak and michelle, rather than “showing the common touch” as part of america’s people, of all races, they only show they have no class.

Mychal, I really enjoy the remarks about the clothing and actions of the president and Michelle. It brougt a big smile to my face and I needed that. I was ready for B Clinton to start some jazz on his sax while the bumping and grinding was going on but that never happened. Clinton missed his chance. I don’t understand ‘chest bump’ so that term is foreign to me. Whatever, it doesn’t seem like something a president would or should do. Our star performers will soon be out of business. On that day, I will dance around my living room like no one is watchig! Don’t tell my children! They think I’m reserved…to a point.

  19. John McClain April 27, 2012 at 12:24 pm #

I am a fifty four year old medically retired Marine, with two decades of honorable service behind me, and a lifetime of service to my Nation. I have been in contact with this host, and on conversational terms with Mr. Massie for some ten years or more, yet, if I were to meet him in person, for the first time, in a restaurant, a coffee house, or an office, I would be wearing a tie and jacket at the least, I would shake hands with this man I call a friend and compatriot, and we would not get “jocular”, until long after our greetings, and formal coversation.
This I would do because it is the American way of showing mutual respect for people worthy of respect, and has been from our founding. I would do the same with a Lance Corporal I might meet as a civilian, having served honorably, and returned, or with a General, which I’ve had occasion many times to do.
These are not useless pretenses of honor, but the very real demonstration of the respect due our Nation for all those who have given their honor, their fortunes, and their lives in its defense.
If the Honor and the Principles of our Nation are not worthy of such respect, our Nation has no business having honorable people defending it, and it should fall.
Our nation, populated by flawed people, has made mistakes as every other Nation has, and we have all paid a steep price for failing to live up to our founding principles. This is no excuse for derogating our Nation, it was conceived of, constituted as a republic, and a government established on the best of principles man ever put into action: principles God laid out for us.
The Nation is worthy of full respect by every Citizen. What errors we’ve made were not in principle, or purpose of evil, but are the common errors men always make, constantly. We should condemn those who err, and fail to note or even consider, however we should never allow The Nation, and its true and right principles, be reduced as a puppet show, because we have allowed classless people to assume authority they never qualified for.
Even absent the question of his citizenship, his birth, and the hundreds of lies he has commonly passed, this form of action by the head of our Nation and his wife is sufficient in demonstration to suggest they both be investigated, as their actions show they are not qualified to represent any civil society or any honorable people.
I give all my neighbors, known or strangers, more respect than this couple gives our Nation, and We, who are The Nation. No one should be willing to watch what has been displayed, and not be terminally embarrassed. Anyone who can, and not be, has no sense of self respect either, and they should find cause to respect themselves, however hard they must work to find it.
I have never stayed at a party with such contemputously low class acts, and while I’ve enjoyed many a party with people of every race, creed and color, particularly enjoying some which myself and another Marine were the only White people present, and where the whole of the 60 or 70 people were active, involved, and moving, nothing done was of such low character as what these two do so commonly.
For this, I call on Gunnery Sergeant “A-Dog” Anderson, to step forward and attest to this, as one of the many Marines who I know who are Black, proud to be American, and hold such parties as anyone can attend with honor and dignity full of laughter and frivolity, and entirely absent the contemptable behavior we’ve had to witness.

Or how about this from Proverbs 6:16 There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
    17 haughty eyes,
    a lying tongue,
    hands that shed innocent blood,

Because the American people were so tired of all the cronys in washington making such poor choices to benefit themselves at the expense of the American people, we, and this includes myself were presented with an man who spoke of change and stood up straight and tall and told us what was in our hearts and promised so much would change and we wanted this change so badly that we blindly followed him. His color made no difference (I am White and over 50) But the firsts words after being elected was how America was not a Christian nation and he proceeded to rant about Muslims and their part in the development and achievements in the building of America. My heart sank, What have we done? A country I have loved so much was now in the hands of a family that would seek to undermine her very existance. Time and again I see the disrespect of our most highest office by those we have entrusted with our very lives. I hear the words of Martin Luther King Jr. “I have a dream” This President has an agenda and it is not to make all men free, but to enslave and dictate who and what we are as a nation (the nation of Obama) Welcome to Hell

Mychal, right on! Sadly, this level of degradation is throughout our society. Have you seen what kids wear to school these days? Even some of the teachers aren’t dressed appropriately. Uniforms would solve many problems there. But the man and woman in the highest office in our land should be the best we have to offer. They do set a standard for all of America and put an image out there to the world. They really must be the topic of amusing conversation all over the world. I’m sure we “ugly Americans” are getting even less respect with these two in office.

Mychal, your references to past American political dignitaries was priceless. Your statement, ” Past First Ladies behaved with eloquence and demureness that in no way diminished them” was certainly truth. The people of the world used to be in awe of America’s leaders and their wives. I have friends in Scotland who view the O’s as grotesque buffoons. I must agree!
We don’t watch the “Degenerate” daytime show nor do we watch late night talk shows but this time I wish we had. To have a reason for a good laugh would have been truly rich!!
I am sure you will recall that in April of ’09, the Times of London had a headline that read, “Protocol is abandoned as Michelle Obama cosies up to Queen”. Buckingham Palace later issued a statement that no offense was taken when the first lady broke protocol and touched the Queen. While I would never curtsey or kiss her ring, the Queen deserves the respect of her position.
And later that same year, I saw a photo of Laureen Harper (Mrs. Stephen Harper) wife of the Prime Minister of Canada, the French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Michelle Obama, together walking up some steps, with MO bringing up the rear. I think the photo was taken during the 2009 G20 summit in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Harper and Mrs. Sarkozy were both dressed as befitting their roles as wives of political leaders, while MO was dressed as one might expect a maid or charwoman to be dressed. My daddy always said you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. MO is tall and not very shapely, and that can’t be held against her. But the way she presents herself is not the fault of her genes. Nor can either her or kingO’s behavior be explained by their genetic makeup. It is the result of their arrogance and audacity. The bible says that “Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.” (Prov. 16:18) Let us all pray that this will be the case with kingO and MO.

Keep telling it like it is! You make me proud. Obama, even though I voted for him (my mistake), is obviously not up to the job. “Rants” such as yours will hopefully bring enough attention to his inadequacies that we will be rid of him and his atrocious wife after this next election.

    • Mychal April 27, 2012 at 9:18 pm #

dickshull: as I’ve already said…i along w/ others tried to warn people…just as we are now…

  31. Wendy April 27, 2012 at 9:44 am #

Verit, you ask a very good question. That’s an incredibly scarry thought, but not a impossibility. Kruschev, the former Russian President, told America that….”the we, America, would implode from within” America would be destroyed from within.
You can get an academic education for a career, but we are witnessing the uneducated interiors of MO & BO. They weren’y up to snuff to keep up with a good education. MO lost her ability to practice law not long after getting her law license for inappropriate behavior, which matched her interior self. What’s new?

wendy: I wrote a syndicated column referring to khrushchev’s words…wasn’t to long ago now that I think about it…

People need to turn to God and PRAY.

    • Mychal April 27, 2012 at 9:29 pm #

      rootcause: amen to that…

  33. rootcause April 27, 2012 at 9:31 am #

I have never been afraid of a president but Obama scares the hell out of me. He will stop at nothing to win in Nov.

    • Mychal April 27, 2012 at 9:30 pm #

rootcause: I fear God not barry…

  34. paula April 27, 2012 at 9:28 am #

BO & MO are just two more reasons why our children don’t understand what the big deal is about acting like civil human beings toward each other. Also, this is why we have so little respect for human life in general and slaughter our own. It is just so outrageous and sad how much beauty and care has gone out of our lives. Thank you Mychal for your voice of reason and understanding.

    • Mychal April 27, 2012 at 9:31 pm #

      paula: you make good points…

  35. Earlene April 27, 2012 at 9:13 am #

The Obamas are truly an embarrassment to the positions they hold. I am afraid they have done irrepairable damage to our country because of their disregard for dignity and manners, not to mention the damage to our democratic way of life due to his policies.

    • Mychal April 27, 2012 at 9:35 pm #

earlene: we’re not a democracy…we’re a representative form of government…their behavior bespeaks of their lack of breeding and their commonality…his policies and their beliefs are resultant of their marxist-leninist systems of belief…

  36. Jim Holmes April 27, 2012 at 8:34 am #

MO reinforces the belief that, ‘You can take the ho out of the ghetto but you can’t take the ghetto out of the ho’

I long for the day when decency and class are restored to the White House … and no more bowing to foreign powers!!!

Good article Mychal, as usual …

    • Mychal April 27, 2012 at 9:35 pm #

jim holmes: good luck on that anytime soon…

  37. Phil April 27, 2012 at 8:22 am #

Hey Mychal, thank you for your honesty. I believe you to be a man of real character and a gifted wordsmith. Bless you!

phil: you very welcome…I’m just a guy w/ opinions blessed to them share…

  38. Betrayed April 27, 2012 at 8:13 am #

Did you see the documentary Rumors of War III???? If you didn’t, you need to.

Glenn Beck showed it Wednesday night on his GBTV station. What an eye opener. Makes me so angry that the American people don’t know what is going on right here on our soil. Makes me even angrier that man is STILL in the White House, even though Congress KNOWS what is going on. I haven’t slept well in the last two days knowing what might be heading our way.

    God help us, please.

    • Mychal April 27, 2012 at 9:39 pm #

betrayed: hey…I treid to warn people…but no one listened to me and others…and I find many are no listening again…

  39. Verit April 27, 2012 at 8:11 am #

Snoopsister is incredibly naive to believe the damage he Will do can be undone! Can you undo the effects of an earthquake, tornado or nuclear bomb? America wil be Humpty Dumpty if Obama gets ”re-elected” (I don’t believe he’s the legitimate President to begin with!) Q: Can you be a traitor if you are not really a Citizen? Would that make you a spy and a saboteur?

    • Mychal April 27, 2012 at 9:43 pm #

verit: I don’t think snoopsister is naive at all…unless you are prepared to explain away hiroshima, nagasaki, san franciso earthquake, or the countless nuimber of tornados that have wreaked destruction here and around the world…

  40. smogdew April 27, 2012 at 7:57 am #

The days of polite society are long gone – that doesn’t mean being straightlaced and frumpy – just using please and thank you etc. and most assuredly SITUATIONAL ETHICS – the one element so lacking in the Obamas.

Instead of mortifying the country, they might well indulge in some old fashioned self mortification – their ignorance is so blatant.

I cannot imagine being in the military and having to serve under this clown; without getting into the recently discharged Marine’s case, I well know there thousands like him whose are at the nadir of despair with Obama’s antics – not much to be proud of there.

    • Mychal April 27, 2012 at 9:45 pm #

smogdew: I feel bad for our military under most of the so-called leadership since eisenhower…

  41. Snoopsister April 26, 2012 at 10:24 pm #

Alan: To those who have said, “People just don’t like him ’cause he’s Black,” I always say, “In my opinion, the color of his skin is his ONLY redeeming quality!”

  42. Snoopsister April 26, 2012 at 10:21 pm #

Even Rock Stars do not act or look as trashy as MO… giving her such title is stretching it! They may trash hotel rooms, but at least they aren’t trashing the WH and America. She is disgraceful, graceless. The sooner these two clowns are out, the better. While 4 more years would be awful, at least we could be assured that it’d only be 4 more years and most damage could be reversed. Unless, of course, during the next 4 years he makes himself King forever. That is not so far-fetched, ya know.

    • Mychal April 26, 2012 at 10:25 pm #

snoopsister: it speaks to the low opinion liberals have for blacks that they claim she is “lovely” and jackie kennedy like w/ a straight face…

  43. Bright Knight April 26, 2012 at 9:56 pm #

And again, you hit the nail on the head – in your unique way and style to write! BRAVO! I love people who call a spade a spade!

    • Mychal April 26, 2012 at 10:26 pm #

bright knight: lol…then you’ve come to the right place…

  44. Alan April 26, 2012 at 9:34 pm #

Mr Massie; The Father of my black buddy told me once.”Alan, I mean no offence to you Son but I wish those jigaboo’s in the white house were white. They almost make me ashamed to be black.”

    • Mychal April 26, 2012 at 10:28 pm #

alan: the color of their skin is irrelevant to me…I settle for them being human…
