Science, the Bible and Cultural Decline

It has always seemed as little odd to me that people can easily separate their belief in God from science.  As an active creationist I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that the Bible is not a science book – to which I always respond with an enthusiastic “Amen.”  The reason for my response, although startling to most, is very logical.  The Bible remains the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Science, however, is always changing.  If you have a family doctor who has been practicing for at least two decades, just ask him or her if they practice medicine today the same way they did 20 years ago.  I can assure you that they prescribe different medications for the same illnesses and most likely diagnose symptoms differently as well.  This is because the science they based their practice on 20 years ago has changed.

Also odd is the notion that God and science can be separated.  If God is who He says He is, then He is the creator of all things.  Following that thru, God is the creator of science.  But I’m not the only person who finds the logic odd.  Students across this great nation would seem to agree that if God is who He says He is then there shouldn’t be any conflict between Him and the science He created.  Of course they are taught in the theory of Evolution that there is conflict, and they understand that:

• if we believe in evolution, it is illogical to believe in creationism;
• if we don’t believe in creationism, then why should we believe anything else in the Bible;
• if we don’t believe the Bible, why should we believe God;
• if we don’t believe in God, why should we employ His moral codes; and
• if we don’t employ His moral codes, then we are free to decide for ourselves what is right and what is wrong.

Deciding for ourselves is exactly what we have been doing. Deciding for ourselves has filled our prisons, killed our unborn, and given rise to one of the deadliest diseases mankind has ever known.  Evolution may be the greatest and most successful lie since the serpent told Eve ‘You can be like God.’ Make no mistake about it, evolution is an assault on the very foundation of Biblical Creationism; therefore, it is an assault on the Bible and the existence of God – and by extension, an assault on these United States that were founded upon biblical principles.

The situation is actually worse than most realize.  Although many teachers will swear that Evolution is taught as a theory, it is not.  Students are taught that there is much evidence for Evolution and anything that contradicts this teaching is censored from the classroom.    It is no wonder that Barna Research reported that 70% of Christian kids raised in Christian homes plan to leave the Church after graduation directly based on teachings of Evolution.

The reality is even worse.  Government-run classrooms use textbooks filled with known hoaxes and frauds – some of them (like Haeckel’s Embryos) known to be frauds for well over a hundred years.  And the anthropological charts that we are familiar with, the ones that depict hunched over apes walking on all fours evolving to upright walking modern day men, students are never told that the chart is an artist’s rendition and the fossil evidence for the chart does not exist.

It’s still worse.  The growing evidence for a young earth is censored from the classroom and if a brave child happens to bring it up, chances are they will be mocked and ridiculed. At the college level, Eric J. Chaisson, Senior Scientist, Space Telescope Science Institute, and former professor at Harvard University, wrote a book based on the essence of the courses he taught at Harvard.  It is entitled: “Universe, An Evolutionary Approach to Astronomy.” In his preface he wrote:

“I have also ignored, completely and without apology, discussions of astrology, flying saucers, creationism, telepathy, magic, and the like. With this paragraph I dismiss from the book these and other pseudo-scientific topics as being totally inconsistent with the modern scientific method, which combines a mixture of proven facts and testable ideas.”  Emphasis added.

If you don’t think sitting in Professor Chaisson’s class would be intimidating to a creationist, think again.  But what about the modern scientific method he mentioned?  Is creationism inconsistent with science?  In order to comply with the scientific method, a theory has to be repeatable, predictable, falsifiable, and observable.  May I ask you what about Evolution satisfies any of those criteria?  The truth is that anything relating to origins cannot comply with the scientific method – and that includes the theory of Evolution.

When we ask ourselves how our culture seems to be disintegrating all around us perhaps the answer lies in Romans 1:17-24.  These verses in Romans tells us what happens when people start worshipping the creation rather than the Creator.  Can it be that we are seeing those verses fulfilled before our very eyes?

The Bible also says in Psalms 11:3: “When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?”  In the 21st century, the Theory of Evolution has unleashed a catastrophic blow to the very foundation of Christianity – the Word of God. And when the foundations of a nation, such as ours, has been built on God and His principles, is it any wonder why we are seeing lawlessness (of both God’s laws and man’s law) escalating before our very eyes?

The Bible also tells us that “Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” 2 Cor. 3:17. In 2013 as many seek to strip all things related to God out of our cultural consciences, it should be no surprise to us that our liberties are being stripped away as well.

It is still worse.  We keep thinking that the next candidate running in the next election will save us.  Unfortunately, all those god-like candidates turn out to be human after all.  And still, we keep looking to men and women for the salvation of America.  As long as we do, we are doomed.  Liberty can only survive where the Spirit of the Lord is.  If America is to be saved, we should be begging the only Savior I know to do it.  Maybe God will be willing to strike a deal with us as He did with Abraham – but we must ask.  We must beg.  We must pray.  For if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? It may be too late for the righteous to do anything in America, but it is not too late for God.
