Sunday evening my son and I enjoyed a quiet dinner together. We talked about biblical prophecy and the ways it is often misinterpreted. We discussed travel and our friends in other countries. But it was when we discussed the deplorable public jealousy directed at Olympic track star Lo-Lo Jones by her black female teammates, that our conversation turned to blacks who embrace commonality – which turned the conversation to the Obamas.
I should here mention that my son is a Christian and a conservative and he neither shrinks from nor apologizes for his positions, which are consistent with both.
Obama, trying to be one of boyz – doing fist bumps and chest bumps and his ghetto swagger – offends him. And for the sake of decorum, I’ll not mention what was said about Michelle Obama, except to say that having her as First Lady is a stain on the office of President.
The simple fact is that the Obamas can no more retreat from what they are than a leopard can change its spots. And I’m not talking about just their Marxist-Leninist political mindset – I’m talking about their public character.
Commenting on my syndicated column “When Will Obama Crack In Public” (WND.com; 4/19/11) MissDairyGoodnessVT wrote on FreeRepublic.com: “One never sees the O’s publicly socializing with the Washington, D.C. society (even of their own peers or among the black elite of any known city in the U.S. [T]he ‘bamster plays golf [and] ‘chelle goes on vacay with her own entourage. You never see their pic with any one ‘social set’ even for a night out to the Kennedy Center or events held nation-wide unless they are campaigning for their own agenda. Where’s their press pics in the ‘Washingtonian’ or ‘Town and Country’ – lol. I guess the black elite were right when the O’s went to Oak Bluffs and [they] called ‘chelle ‘GHETTO.’
I referenced this comment as we talked about them and my son perhaps more astutely than even he realized said, “Obama only wants to go where people think he’s cool.”
Perhaps without knowing it, my son summed up another side of the Obamas. When was the last time we saw the two of them photographed as the President and First Lady at a gala society event with the Washington elite? I cannot recall same.
I am now prepared to say that the photos of young Obama, appearing to be stoned out of his mind, the photos of him doing his best pimp look – wide-brimmed pimp hat cocked to the side with a cigarette in his hand – and the photos of him puffing on a cigarette as if it were a marijuana joint – speak to his commonality.
The photos we see of him as a young man and a college student symbolize him as a pothead or trying to be ghetto-cool. The photos of Michelle show her with angry expressions or in the most unflattering clothing, trying to look sultry.
My son and the FreeRepublic commenter bring important subject matter to the dialogue pursuant to the Obamas. My late grandmother used to say, “Water always seeks its own level.” Such is the case with the Obamas.
I know leftist liberals and the media like to heap praise upon Michelle as being a fashion plate, but dressing up like a Soul Train dancer doesn’t make her Jackie Kennedyesque, as they opine her to be.
There is a growing cacophony of complaint that Obama is removed and disinterested in recognizing those who are breaking their backs for him.
The apparent truth is that the Obamas do not know how to behave or comport themselves outside of their insular cabal of like-minded associates. Of all the lavish vacations Michelle has taken, how many of them have been with the real power elites?
If we take a close look, we begin to see that the Obamas are not only committed to waging class warfare and division – they are committed to living it out in their personal lives as well.

Mychal, your son sounds very cool himself! He is so very perceptive. This statement he made of BO is smack-dab right on. This is exactly why Obama now avoids holding regular press club meetings, why he avoids getting anywhere near a conservative talk program, and why he avoids campaigning in front of Democratic adults. Many of them have figured Obama out, are no longer drinking the kool-aid and he knows it. Notice this time around, he campaigns almost exclusively at junior high and high schools and college campuses. Because those kids have not yet gained “worldly knowledge”, they are relatively naive and view Obama as a rock star, as adults did in 2008. You can just see it in his demeanor when he hippity-hops all of the 2 or 3 steps onto a stage in front of youngsters who are screaming his name. He wears his big S**T-eating grin and basks in the adulation. It’s no wonder all he ever wants to do is play golf and campaign, why he starts the campaign season so damn early. He likes the adulation of being out in front of select crowds. When he’s in the White House, all he ever gets is complaints and the crap beaten out of him because of his policies.

Regarding lamont insane obama and the “First Ho”. Let’s first deal with the First Ho. I am well aware of how a digital video camera can freeze some awful head-shots, but I am appalled at how easy it is to get unflattering pictures of magilla obama.

He acts like Ted Kennedy in a Hyannis Port bar… like Marion Barry in the D.C. drug-evidence locker… like Idi Amin at an enemies “all-you-can-eat” buffet! The ONLY thing positive that I can say about him, is he didn’t abort his daughters, (but he DID say that THEY shouldn’t be “punished” with a baby).

Michelle Obama is, and always has been, the “Queen of Tacky”. I was sure some of the earthquakes early on were caused by Jackie O., rolling over in her grave a few times after Moochelle was compared to her by the very clueless but adoring MSM. Jackie, the picture of class and refinement, being compared to Moochelle is like a toad being compared to a princess! And did you catch her chiding Gabby Douglas for eating an Egg McMuffin on the Tonight Show? Really? What a hypocrite! To think she has the nerve to tell an Olympic Gold Medalist what to eat and not eat!
As to Barry, have any of you noticed how his voice and tone are markedly different now, compared to the 2008 campaign? Listening to snippets of speeches from then, or campaign comments from back then, and it’s like night and day in how he sounds. Any thoughts on what has caused this change? I have my own ideas, but welcome any from Mychal and the rest of you.

Well, Mychal, I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying: You can take the chick out of the ghetto, but you can’t always take the ghetto out of the chick. I happened to be raised in an environment where blacks around me were mainly upper middle class or affluent (through hard work and higher education) and certainly that lifestyle was accompanied by some dignity. I can’t help but notice that Obama chose a wife who in many ways epitomizes the sitcom stereotypical picture of an uncouth, “in your face” black woman, and you’re right. She’s setting a trend for tacky and offers little dignity or decorum to the office.

Thanks for the rant on the Obama couple. You say what so many are saying and thinking. That includes blacks, whites, yellows, greens…. Your son is a hunk and with brains! You have done well with rearing this young man. “…where people think he is cool.” Great observation. It did occur to me that perhaps the “DC elite” don’t want to associate with the Obama couple and that is why we don’t see these types of photos…not because of color of skin but “culture reasons.” Plus, some don’t know how to chest bump. Cocktail Hour is probably a thing of the past due to the Islam no-no but I can almost gurantee that Congressmen/ladies have their own afternoon gatherings without photos. If O saw a bottle of booze in a photo, he would have to go back into his cript before he disolved. I also wonder about O shown drinking a beer. Does he have to pray for forgiveness before touching his lips to the beer? Or does he drink it? I’ve been to parties where the host kept coming around and filling our glasses. So, I learned to put the glass to my lips, lower it, and my glass was always full. Now, at my age, and all the stress these past four years, I might just drink up and keep yelling for more.

Thank you sir for the post on this topic. I can honestly say I discriminate on nearly a daily basis, and find your comments in line with my own thinking here.
When I say “discriminate”, I speak not of the culturally-sculpted version of the word, which makes the popular version of the term equal to “racist”. Rather, I am one who observes differences in people’s behaviour to determine whether or not I choose to spend time, money, or attention to them.
We all do this, and it’s not a “bad” thing – it’s rather part of our survival as a culture and society. To purposely blind one’s self to harmful behaviour patterns in the guise of being “equal and tolerant” is equal to physically blinding one’s self prior to going out for an auto drive in the mountains.
And this is exactly what many of us have accepted as part of our social education. We accept the lowest common denominator – not wanting to “discriminate” between socially-uplifting actions and the actions of thugs and crooks. This is why we’ve elected public officials who act in like manner – because it’s “cool” to do so.
I’ve heard the argument that “judging” others is not for us to do but for God alone. And in that I agree – provided that “judging” is the determination of whether or not a man or woman is worthy of entrance into Heaven. However, to “judge” others’ behaviour as helpful or harmful to our daily well-being is something each of us ought to do, all the time. And FWIW, in that respect, I find our current leader lacking.

We have a sleaze of tabloids representing us as First Lady. I heard an expression from a Texan gentleman and it applies very well in reference to the occupants of the WH: “no matter how hard you try to buff a turd, it’s still a turd.”
Our nine year old grandson, living in Montana, was watching CNN news asked his dad “if the President had a boss?” Our son’s reply was , “yes, we are his boss.” The little man’s come back was: ” we need to fire him.” YES, we need to fire them both!
As a side line, we live in southern California and our middle son moved to Montana four years ago with his sons due to the cost of living and he was becoming concerned because the liberal agenda of homosexuality promoting philosophies reaching into the schools. He wanted them to grow up as happy active children in an environment that allows children to be children and allowed to talk about God to their friends. And it has been announced that the Dems are going to use same sex marriage on their platform. How lame and tragic. God have mercy on us.
