‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

The Origin Of Our Problems

May 2, 2016

Today’s Daily Rant expresses my frustration with people who do not grasp the origins of the problems facing our country today.

Earlier last week, I wrote a syndicated article titled: “America Has Lost Its Moral Standing.” Even I was not prepared for the great number of people who completely missed the point of my article. And therein lies the frustration I now express.

I’ve not correlated the numbers but at a glance I would estimate that as many as 4 to 1 of those commenting blamed Obama for what I discussed in my article. That is not just shocking; it is wholly unacceptable on every quantifiable level.

I do not like Obama, thus my syndicated column, “Why I Do Not Like The Obamas.” And even though I am praying for the Obamas to realize they are lost sinners on their way to hell – realize their need for Christ, confess their sins, repent, and accept Christ as their Savior – it would only be my fear of knowingly and purposely displeasing God that would prevent me from ignoring them if they were engulfed in flames on the side of the road as I drove by.

With that disclaimer, let me say the reason America is in the condition she is today isn’t singularly Obama’s doing. It’s the doing of the American people. It’s the American people who have abandoned God and who, under the guise of enlightenment, embraced institutionalized lies and malfeasance pursuant to the deconstructing of the Constitution.

Nothing dissuades me that Obama isn’t evil to his very core. His actions, his words, his legislation, etc. are proof of same. But Obama wasn’t around when the church began to sell out to secularism. Obama wasn’t around when people were ignoring the fact that politicians and the dark shadowy figures of the political netherworld were stealing and spending us into oblivion – although Obama has contributed to it on a massive level. If We the People had fought against government spending and institutional welfare from the nanny state decades ago, it would have been more difficult for “something” like Obama and his wife to spend and waste as they have.

Obama is nothing if not the face of the ramifications of our errant decisions and truancy pursuant to morality. It is a faithful axiom that sooner or later “chickens come home to roost.”

Obama has, with a smile on his disgusting face, worked to deconstruct everything America was founded upon and everything that made America great. But go back and re-read my syndicated article, “America Has Lost Its Moral Standing.” What so many refuse to acknowledge is if We the People were doing what is right there would have been no quarters for an Obama.

Corrupt, evil, self-indulgent, liars and heathens sought political office for personal gain and We the People elected them over and over. We allowed them to become career politicians. We chased vacuum cleaner salesmen from our doors and we ignored our friends who became involved peddling multi-level schemes that promised we could (emphasis “could”) get rich. Despite the assurances, I know only one husband/wife team who were successful selling multi-level schemes. Yet the same people who refused salesmen and peddlers, put on rose-tinted glasses and merrily followed political figures over the cliff and are today blaming Obama.

I’m not saying that Obama isn’t guilty. I’m saying that it didn’t start with him. Obama is the face of our disobedience and abrogation of traditional mores. He is not singularly the cause of them. We the People are.

Politicians have lied and the Walter Cronkites of the media have given validity to their lies during every news broadcast, of every day. And the American people didn’t and still don’t question them.

The building called America was on fire long before Obama started pouring more gasoline on it and the American people stood by doing nothing.

The American people allowed our children to be taught lies that undermined the Constitution and the Bible. The American people sat passively silent as our Constitutional rights were increasingly rescinded without vote or complaint. The American people have short memory spans and they exacerbate that intellectual malady with an insatiable appetite of gullibility. If it comes from FoxNews, CNN, et al it must be true, depending of course, upon which of the ersatz political narratives the person subscribes.

The American people have sold out to blind ideology totally oblivious that the two-party system disappeared seven decades ago or longer. The idea of a two-party system is now a myth. We have two warring factions locked in mortal combat each striving for the same objective.

Blaming Obama may sound good but the reality is that the reflexive orthodoxy of blaming Obama is the actions of those who attempt to absolve their complicity in the moral and Constitutional decay of our country, by blaming him.

Here is a historical reminder. It was the American naval commander, Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry who in 1813 famously said: “We have met the enemy, and they are ours.” It was the creator of the Pogo comic strip, cartoonist Walt Kelly, who paraphrased Perry’s words in 1970 to read: “We have met the enemy, and he is us.”

Chose which you like best, but when we look at the hateful and malicious behavior of Obama that is so antithetical to our foundational traditions, either one of those axioms will work perfectly.
