The Sale of Unrealistic Expectations

I’m not a thoroughbred aficionado, but have read sports pages enough over the years to know that Genuine Risk was one of the greatest running fillies of all time, which provides a natural transition to discuss the table manners of Michelle Obama during the foofaraw of last week’s “coronation.”  There she was, eating like she had the feedbag on, and wolfing down food in a way that sparked wonder whether the finest meal she’d ever had previously was at Popeye’s Fried Chicken.

Her demeanor and behavior in general was so unbecoming a First Lady it was both an affront to the station she’s attained through marriage as it was to horses everywhere, and the eye-rolling-disgust during a conversation between the president and Speaker Boehner was mindful of a high school- clique prima donna, exemplifying unadulterated disdain for someone she clearly deemed to be beneath her, which begs the question, just who does she believe herself to be?

A new hair-do does not make her Jacqueline Kennedy, for she’s really just another vicarious harpy reminiscent of Hillary Clinton with respect to her owly nature and arrogant disposition, and one who categorically would have felt intimidated by being in a room with either Mrs. Bush.  Collegiality is obviously not a word with which she is familiar and her behavior is clinically xenophobic, and while I loathe the politics of Obama and Boehner alike because they are merely opposite sides of the same filthy coin, it is indeed possible that they have a working relationship and do not detest one another, and that just doesn’t pass muster with the someone who fancies herself queen.  She has yet to utter the phrase, “Let them eat cake,” but only because she intends to hoard it all for herself.

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton, aka The Shill, transformed herself during Congressional Foreign Relations hearings on the Benghazi rapes and assassinations, to Hill the Shrill, screeching at congressmen who deigned to ask for clarification on blatant inconsistencies, which are part of a rampant obfuscation brewed jointly between the Department of State and the Oval Office, and in so doing created a novel, legal defense tactic, for it now appears no matter how guilty and irresponsible one’s actions are, all one must ask rhetorically is “What difference, at this point, does it make?” and away go troubles down the drain.

The paucity of her defense and hysterical babbling is a pattern she’s repeated successfully for decades and reflects an icy ruthlessness.  She is bereft of conscience, lies as a condition of her existence, has a litany of unethical practices attached to her legal career, and pulls out the wronged-woman routine on cue every time her feet are held to the fire.  What’s worse, she’s now added the cranky Grand Dame to her repertoire of crassness and multiple personalities, and copped a doughy, pudgy, grandmotherly personae in front of the committees, bespectacled and flapping hands which looked eerily like paws, and displaying the evasiveness and unsoundness of mind one normally sees during the onset of Alzheimer’s.   She wasn’t wearing a crown, hadn’t gotten bangs, but to be clad so conspicuously in a shade of green notably associated with Islam made me want to pull an Elvis and destroy my TV.

And in the center ring of this circus stands President Obama, who delivered an inauguration speech of which Nikita Khrushchev would have been proud, not only for its anti-American, anti-capitalism and inflammatory tenor but its wide-ranging bellicosity, replete with knitted eyebrow scowl and flaring nostrils.  The only thing he forgot to do was bang the podium with his shoe.  According to the text of a speech the Speaker gave Wednesday at the Ripon Society, Mr. Obama told him while the Armageddon economic clock ticked, “Boehner, we don’t have a spending problem.  We have a health care problem.”   Cue the Twilight Zone theme.  Fearless Leader obviously believes in gnomes and Big Foot, and I’m not referring to the Michelle this time.

We now know the name of Obama’s songbook:  “Communism Unplugged” and it’s available at news outlets everywhere.  His inauguration speech indicates he considers the Constitution an unnecessary nuisance in much the same way our enemies harbor resentment to our once great country because their foreign ideologies teach them to hate what they cannot have or comprehend, and it is with this inbred hostility based on greed and envy that Obama continues to entice one half of the country at the expense of alienating the other half which rests on solid proof that more government is not a solution and instead the source of the problem.

FAMSU160Obama’s gambit is directed at dependence not advancement, derived from a centralized government philosophy as opposed to one of an inclusive dialogue which would unite the country.  It is an emotional appeal to weakness in lieu of encouraging personal growth and responsibility, and is diametrically opposed in tone and purpose to anything, any other president has ever advocated for the nation, for its unmistakable aim is to lure in more suckers with unaffordable “gifts” in exchange for personal freedom and their souls.   Without historical precedent, it demonizes capitalism and makes it clear that success should be punished and productivity pillaged as opposed to nurtured, and exposes an alarming reluctance to embrace free enterprise or a profound ignorance to comprehend its benefits.  Regardless, the aim defined is ultimate government domination and it is clear that he will load the Supreme Court with like-minded neo-Leninists who share a contempt for the Constitution, and will trample any liberties necessary in pursuit of an anti-American agenda by siphoning resources for his vision of a Statist Utopia.

Lastly, a simple two part question for the yammering anti-gun dreamers:  Did you ever study Prohibition and did it stop the manufacturing and sale of alcohol?  No sense in embarrassing yourselves, so I’ll answer for you:  “NO, and NO.”  It’s clear that legal gun owners and law-abiding citizens are the target of government oppression, confiscation, and dissolution of Second Amendment protection, while the same group of apparatchiks have simultaneously enabled a gateway to thrive through which guns, drugs, and illegal aliens enter the country from Mexico, even to the extent of arming a foreign criminal element in order to further their poorly-veiled ambition of creating a crisis instead of heading one off preemptively.  It is a blend of hypocrisy, wrapped in lunacy, and grants a wish to enemies who can’t wait to watch our demise from within after we’ve held their threats from afar at bay for centuries.

And leading the parade is a president so overtly consumed with malice toward Christian and American values that it emanates from his pores like sarin gas, while he glowers and advocates more policies to accelerate the economic death spiral.

That’s right, Mr. President.  If you can’t fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem.

About Dan Bubalo

Daniel J. Bubalo was hired by the venerable firm of Kidder Peabody in 1978, before becoming a shareholder and partner with Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1984. He ultimately bought his own brokerage firm and steered it successfully through the market crash of 1987 before starting a venture capital and advisory company in the early 1990's. He has been a broker, manager, owner, trader, financier, and advisor on mergers and acquisitions, and throughout his career has opined regularly about the intractable nature of government and its inextricable hold and influence on financial markets. A securities violation landed him in federal prison from 1999 to 2003 which served to only sharpen his observations, watching in dismay at the dissolution of the Glass-Steagall Act, the 2001 dot.com bubble burst without so much as an investigation or arrest, and has since lectured between 2005 and 2011 at the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University on government intervention and ethics, as well as being presciently critical about Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank. What a great analysis, Dan! I fear you are correct on all counts, so we of the Christian and American values are doomed to living our lives under the heel of the Marxists in Charge. Oh, and these were the dope-smoking, LSD-taking, American-hating druggies of the 60′s. It is beyond sickening.

As to Michelle, you managed to personify her beautifully with your words. You can put lipstick on a pig…

Oh, and would someone please ask her to take that dreadful looking bustle out from under her skirt? So 1800′s!

Dan, you’ve scored another big hit with this very honest and descriptive column in regards to the unnecessary fanfare of an innauguration which many of us unfortunately were subjected to recently! The Obama’s will once again be celebrated as a “force for good” within the never ending liberal fawning of a political power couple, pretty much in the same manner as Eleanor & FDR, JFK & Jackie and of course, the irrepressable Clintons! In all fairness, never in my lifetime have I witnessed such a hysterical display of hero worship by the liberal Democrat controlled media directed towards any past political figure as I have regarding this con-man-in-chief! My parents always told me when I was younger, “if you can’t say anything nice about someone, then speak the truth”! So here it is; Michelle Obama displays all of her ugliness both visually & spiritually 24/7! No she is not to be admired on any given level for her wanna-be dreadful semi-fashionable immitation of Jackie O. I can’t comment on their parenting skills, though their children appear to be quite well mannered. It doesn’t change the fact that these two individuals decided to get married at a time when such a relationship was considered the only respected union both under the law of God & man.

Today, her husband in a desperate attempt to win over the votes & approval of a small minority of sodmites has reversed his way of thinking by recognizing the sinful union of homosexuality under the fallacy of “gay marriage”. Both individuals have decided to naturally procreate and produced two young children while advocating on behalf of the murderous procedure known as abortion! “Caesar Obamarus” has positioned himself to dictate the “winds of change” by issuing unlawful executive orders whereby he has decided in engaging in the never ending saga of regulating “gun control”, “immigration-let’s-make -life-a-little-bit-more-accomodating-for-spanish speakig-American-law breakers-reform”! “His Eminence” has also decided to punish hard working & productive wage earners while enabling able bodied individuals to lead unproductive & morally wreckless lifestyles through the unfair assistance of tax payer funded annuities! In short, his “royal highness” has continued to engage in the liberal stupidity of experimenting with the idea of normalizing abnormality with the express purpose of destroying our once stabilized, morally ordained Christian naion. “He has decided”!

    • Dan Bubalo January 29, 2013 at 10:24 am #

You punch hard, Renee, and I love it.

I have a lengthy riff on gay marriage and the suggestion………..ahem……….that they are a voting bloc, but it isn’t conducive to a Christian website.

You are so right, pblee, but…………………

25 years later the media still ranks on Dan Quayle despite his spelling “potato” in the exact same manner of my parents.

Will the wench EVER be held to accountability or ignorance?

      Sadly?

      No.

Did not watch it..Did not have any desire. YOU CAN’T BUY CLASS! I get a bad attitude, and a short temper every time I see them. Sometimes I find myself allowing the “evil one” to invade my peace and flipping one towards the screen or worse, saying it! Now I pray and put the problems of our nation where they should be – at the foot of The Cross! His Majesty, The Lord God Almighty Reigns.
II Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, THEN will I hear from heaven and forgive them of their sin and heal their land.”

Thank you Dan for expressing our thoughts where they will be read by many. We are watching a fiction horror show every time we see these two phonies. I must pray for them as God commanded. The only prayer I can honestly pray is, that they do Gods will, all others would not be sincere. People, donate to Mychal as we need to keep his truths and those who guest flowing. I’m torn between continuing to write, Sunny, or just hanging it up for good. It’s great for us all to vent, but is there an end-product that might come of it all, or are we just re-stating the obvious?

Now, having said that, I hearken Al Pacino’s soliloquey at the end of Scent of a Woman:

” I’D LIKE TO TAKE A FLAME-THROWER TO THIS PLACE!”

I’ll stay with it because I know half the country feels the same way.

  8. Barb January 28, 2013 at 8:18 pm #

I heard one of the main stream media women describe her as ‘elegant’, I wanted to throw up….she is too clownish to be even considered elegant…..and too flashy…..and too big….and her new hairdo doesn nothing for her except to show she uses a hair straightener and someone curled the bangs….

    • Dan Bubalo January 29, 2013 at 10:06 am #

      I’m with you, Barb.

If you think about it, Clydesdales could be considered elegant, too.

  9. Dave Buls January 28, 2013 at 9:08 pm #

Dan, so much for Constitutionally Limited Government. They have so disgustingly F'd up our country, we might as well trash the whole thing and start over with a Revolutionary War against ourselves. The audacity of people to forcefully rob others, and then tell them what to do is enough to want to bring on Civil War. They have completely pissed off the entire world with their bullshit power shows of military force and pathetic child killings, their blinding ego driven, illogical, "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" raping of the American People. Our own Government has created a small wealthy class which has been allowed to loot our treasury, and deny average Americans their rights, and their hard earned money. If there is a God, they will be damned.

    • Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 5:16 pm #

Instead of diffusing your ire, Dave, I wish I could bottle it and sell it.

The good news is that we would become millionaires temporarily.

The bad news is that the government would want over half the spoils to pay for someone who doesn’t belong here and to punish us for being innovative.

Loved the commentary——–don’t starve us without more.

  10. Marilyn January 28, 2013 at 3:41 pm #

Great Article, Dan. Thanks! I wondered why the rolling eyeballs while the queen chomped down her food. Someone said it was a discussion about smoking tobacco between the president and Boehner. I watched Boehner as his eyes traveled to Michelle’s shoveling. I thought that maybe Boehner had brought up the idea that Michelle should join the Military Service and do some combat along with the men; you know, give her and the president a first hand account of what it would be like. She probably could join as an officer but she wouldn’t pass the litmus test. She likes her mama and brother and could never fire upon them.

As for “Let them eat cake,” that line is from our history books and my hubby put me straight on it since he enjoys cake so much. It appears that the cake one of Louie 14th wives referred to was the white scum around the tops of fermented beer kegs. In our day and time, that would translate to “Let them eat Ship High In Transit.” Just a bit of my kind of nonsense knowledge… Kind of like Norm’s postman buddy on ‘Cheers’.

And, not knowing what has happened to the filibustering that Reid wants to stop, it would appear that a decent Congress would not cajole the president (and Ms. Feinstein) with his many executive orders re gun control(s). I have been reading a bit of Wayne LaPierre’s “America Disarmed…” and how many times Congress has had to use the 2nd Amendment to back up their votes on such matters of American gun control and the registration of those who own and purchase guns. It appears that each time, there have been many congressmen and women who wanted to remove automatic weapons from American Citizens and that did happen I believe during Reagan’s presidency. But, always, registration was forbidden and that was for good reason which there is no need to explain.

“Representative Joe Schwartz of Michigan said it all in a nutshell: The Second Amendment was not written as a mere exercise in constitutional thought. It had a practical purpose: first, to ensure that citizens would have tools to protect their families and their homes and, second, to ensure that the armed Militia could be called up to defend the country in emergencies.”

Without going into what kind of emergencies, tyrannical governments do come under “emergencies.”

    • Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 5:25 pm #

What would we do without you, “Norm?”

I am exhausted with people discussing what “the meaning of is, is,” and if you look for a common thread among every liar, they’re all lawyers.

The Second Amendment is clear, written with wisdom, AND written at a time when tyrannical rule dominated Europe and when we wanted to preclude it from happening here. Any efforts to twist those words is pure…………………..(add your description here)

I am so sickened by this 3 ring circus of a presidency and its accomplices in Congress that I am running out of words and metaphors for it. Suffice to say that I pray for our nation and its survival.

    • Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 1:14 pm #

I’m in your camp and flummoxed, too, Owen.

The problem is that so many people are “flummoxed” yet do not realize we have one last chance to mobilize and fix the problem.

This is not the time to cash-in, but, to get vocal and involved.

  15. Jamie Cooper January 28, 2013 at 12:11 pm #

I agree with everything you have written in this article, as well as all of the postings submitted on The Rant. However, I agree with a heavy heart. I am a realist and I see where this country is now, I see that both Democrats and Republicans have a leftist agenda and they have for decades. BO is ready to drive the busload of unwilling Americans into the land of Socialism in a way that Presidents before him have not been able to. BO’s situation “loosely” reminds me of the Frank Sinatra movie, “The Manchurian Candidate”. So what do we as American do at this point???? Do we need to plan for survival such as the ghettos of Warsaw? Are we looking at concentration (FEMA) camps? Plastic coffins that will hold 10 people? Torture? Extermination? Are there any political leaders out there that can……at this point…..bring this country back from this free fall? I am in continual prayer about this…..plenty of prayer, but have a plan. But I don’t even know how to prepare my family for what lies ahead. However, I know that those who see what is coming need to have a plan. I am like most Americans, my paycheck goes to support those who choose not to work, so leaving this country is out of the question. I have no cash to stockpile, even though, I don’t think the American dollar will be worth anything if this country falls.

What are everyday Americans, who are horrified at what we see coming at us, supposed to do from this point on?

I agree, she was shoveling that food in like she hadn’t eaten in 3 days.

    • Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 1:05 pm #

You covered the waterfront, Jamie, and did it well.

I possess the ability to run the country and believe I could bring it into financial balance in short order.

      Ooops.

Ex-cons can’t run for office, but apparently foreign nationals can, and, ALSO BE RE-ELECTED.

  16. Ben January 28, 2013 at 10:18 am #

There are not enough adjectives to describe these classless, low trash, racist agitators. Most people are simply saying he is trying to fix things. He is a Muslim, using Marxist Alynski tactics to destroy this country, by collapsing the economy, destroying the military and agitating class warfare for the purpose of subduing the citizenry. The country will not be turned over to the Communists, but to the Caliphate which he is helping to build. They have been heating the water in the pan for 100 years and think this is the :one” who can finally cook the frog. As he confiscates the working man’s money he and his ilk live like kings.

His wife’s behavior at the table, as she guards and shovels he food down her throat, .screams out the contempt she has for the little people. Their sycophant class of drones are as classless as they are and will only celebrate their sub human behavior.

All the while, the GOP, scurry around under the table picking up any crumbs they can get away with. The slime pit known as DC needs to be cleaned out and replaced with patriots. God help us.

    • Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 11:10 am #

      You’re rocking big-time, Ben.

      Very well spoken.

  17. Thom's Thumb January 28, 2013 at 10:14 am #

Good one, Dan. The First Witch’s table manners and her vivid re-display of distain for all things white that accompanied her overt rudeness served only as a capper going back a few years when she climbed off Air Force One in ragged cutoffs and her hair looking like she had to cut things short in time for landing. This entire administration’s notion of first class or classy behaviour is more like my concept of Steerage class and all of it well below the waterline of acceptable.

    • Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 10:35 am #

      Correct you are, Mr. T.

      Double, double toil and trouble.
      Fire burn and cauldron bubble.

  18. Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 10:09 am #

    Thank you, Mr. M.

I’m guessing the time is getting nearer where we can all critique and not be called racists in doing so.

I mean, Bozo was a clown. Is that how we should reference him, or should we call him a multi-colored entertainer?

  19. Joe Trott January 28, 2013 at 9:58 am #

I wanted to like Michelle 0bama, I really did. But as I watched her flaunt herself and her station, particularly around “the little people,” I came to the sudden and rather sad realization some time ago: she’s a ghetto-girl. It’s that simple. Her husband is an anti-American disgrace to the office of POTUS in every way Ronald Reagan was not, and she is similarly a disgrace to her position. A Lady she is not, “First” or otherwise.

    • Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 10:32 am #

You bring up an excellent point, Joe T. Nobody set out to hate Michelle, but she sure seems to come up with new ways to invite it, yet the first family’s PR apparatus immediately goes on attack the first time anyone mentions she has the grace of a giraffe on roller skates.

Excellent as usual, Dan. Mr. Obama needs to read the 10th chapter of Isaiah if he actually owns a Bible and if he could find that chapter if he does. Obama has forgotten that God still exists, is in control, and will mete out justice when he chooses to do that. As an ordinary Christian who reads her Bible, I take seriously what the prophet says about God’s anger toward those in high positions who become oppressors. However, I’m certain Obama’s bible is probably “Rules for Radical,” and his god is either Saul Alinsky or himself. He’s also forgotten that Michelle thinks she’s God.

    • Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 10:19 am #

      You’re right, Double.

In my calmer moments, fleeting as they are…………………… I truly believe he has over-driven his headlights, and when finally realizing he did, will be the last to know.

    Shrews Galore.

Designer clothes and the coif du jour can't hide a bad personality any more than a good one, as Granny used to say (or words to that effect). The two first ladies of note in today's article are rather well-suited to their husbands. Now if they lived in one's hometown they'd not be highly regarded but on the international stage anyone can be Photoshopped in all sorts of ways–be it via the words in the press distorted to shape an image, the make-up and clothes, the busy chap operating Photoshop itself on the photos. In spite of the massive, group effort– the true self still slithers out from under the rocks now and again.

    • Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 10:13 am #

      Thanks, Annie.

How far have we slid that “photoshop” and “slither” clearly define a presidency without any other words needed?

I agree with all these comments and then some. It scares me to think that the Big O (does not stand for Ophra) could be one of the anti-christ’s of Revelation? Going back I can remember when First ladies dressed and acted like First Ladies (Nancy Reagan, Rosaline Carter, Laura Bush, Maime Eisenhower, Barbara Bush, just to name a few). It seemed to go downhill with Hilary and we have now hit bottom with this one! She acts and dresses like a hoydon.

I am afraid all sense of decency and honesty is going down the drain with these 2!

      • Betsy Young January 28, 2013 at 12:39 pm #

Calling her a hoyden gives her too much credit! Vulgarian is more befitting!

      • Dan Bubalo January 28, 2013 at 12:48 pm #

        Ms. Alice,

To hear the word “hoyden” used, much less used so aptly, has me doing that “I’m not worthy wave,” and it is directed right at YOU !

        Great commentary, and my thanks.
