Traveling With Jesus – A Review by Mychal Massie
Over the next few weeks, TDR will be sharing a chapter each Saturday from a book penned by Patti Dahlstrom. The book is titled Traveling With Jesus and it chronicles Patti’s life of learning to lean wholly on Jesus.
On page 25, Patti writes: “If what I believe when all is well cannot sustain me when things are hard, then I need to discard those beliefs. They are useless; they are worthless. Either they are untrue or I am not able to recognize their value. Either way, if what I believe cannot be applied, it is meaningless for me. It serves no purpose.”
But as Patti dramatically lays out, and as I can attest to in my own life, what she and I believe pursuant to Jesus Christ is applicable daily in our lives. It is that faith and reliance upon the Savior that sustains believers through difficult and at times seemingly impossible situations.
The chapters are short and easy to read but do not let that mislead you. Patti takes you on the journey of her remarkable life as she learns and grows to lean on Jesus.
It is her prayer and mine that her journey with Jesus with be an inspiration to many. As Patti poignantly points out, there are no situations too great for Jesus to handle, if we learn to trust and lean on Him.
