‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

We Don't Need Public Schools: They Need Us

December 7, 2012

Well, it is Christmas, the time of year we Christians celebrate the miraculous Virgin Birth of Jesus our Lord. And, like clockwork, lawsuits and threats of same abound. After all, how dare we openly celebrate?

Nowhere is what I am saying better exampled than Moanalua High School in Honolulu. It seems that a concert that had been held for the past six years, featuring the school’s award-winning orchestra and volunteers from the New Hope Church, was more than Mitch Kahle could bear. He threatened the school district based on a separation of church and state and his threat brought an abrupt end to the concert.

Four days before the concert, the concert was cancelled. The fact that the concert has raised more $200,000 for a charity that treats poor people in Africa meant nothing to Kahle.

It once again provides transpicuous proof that liberals and haters do not care about the good something does and/or care about the people who benefit from same. They are consumed by hatred.

Which brings me to my point. Why even bother with the public school system? The New Hope Church involvement was to handle ticket sales and to sell tickets at its services. Why not have the church participate as it always has, and arrange to have the orchestra members perform at another venue and identify themselves as volunteering their time as an act of community service?

This is precisely why I advocate that Christian parents withdraw their children from public schools and homeschool them and/or place their children in private Christian schools. I have long argued that it is poor stewardship for Christians to spend millions of dollars to have their children wear tee-shirts that says “Jesus loves you” or to openly give thanks for their food on school property.

The monies used to fight those battles could better be spent to provide need-based financial aid to help families provide quality education for their children — free of homosexual indoctrination and godless, revisionist instruction.

It is a senseless exercise to file lawsuits for Christian children to exercise their First Amendment rights in an environment designed to inculcate base commonalities.

It’s time we picked our battles more wisely. The public school system needs us; we do not need them. And it is beyond time we drive that point home.

If we were to view public schools as mission fields to liberate the minds and souls of children from revisionist history, homosexual indoctrination, and pandering to Planned Parenthood we would be doing the work of the Lord, increasing church attendance, and preparing a people for the future who actually stood for something moral. And we accomplish this by providing a safe educational and spiritual environment for the children to learn.

One more thought: If the scripture says we should come out from among them, why are we fighting to keep our children and other children confined to be a part of that which is among the most base in the world?

I am aware of some who are working to bring about that very thing. Mennonite and Baptist private schools abound, in addition to private Catholic schools. We must make it our business to support them. My son attended private Christian schools and not only did the academic expectations far exceed those of public schools, but also the teachers themselves viewed their work as ministry not a place to go for cheap health insurance and a pension.
