What I Want For My Child And Grand Children

I’ve been blessed by the Creator to enjoy the fruits of the labors of strong men and women of short generations ago. And I want the same for my child and his children. I don’t want my son to raise a family in a country where government is viewed as responsible for creating jobs. I want my child to live in the robust economy brought about and spurred on by men and women of vision, willing to risk all to create and build.

I envision an America where the children of today dare to dream of becoming industrial giants and legends. An America where children of today have a strong, unapologetic belief in self-advancement – not an acceptance that “government will do it for me.”

I expect my son to look to the future with the faith of John Wesley, the courage of Lewis and Clark as they braved the vast new wilderness we now call the West, and the determined vision of the men who provided America with jobs.

I don’t want his world to be dependent upon a Stalinist government dictating what he can achieve. Nor do I want him to suffer a government that increasingly penalizes him for being successful after he has assumed all of the risks of becoming successful.

I do not want my child’s children to be shackled by inferior public schools. I want his children to have the bar of education raised – not lowered. I want them to accept the challenge of hard work, increased study regimens, along with the reality of failure for failing work.

I want his children to be prepared for the universities by qualified teachers who are fully certified academicians in their own right, not just pawns and puppets of the National Education Association.

I want my grandchildren to be academically challenged to the very limits of their abilities – not given meaningless grades that in no way prepare them to compete on a national scale, much less a global one.

I want him and his wife to be responsible for my grandchildren’s sexual awareness. I don’t want teacher unions and homosexuals in the schools usurping said parental responsibility. I want his children to look at their teachers aware they are pro family – i.e., man, woman, child(ren) – pro-God Almighty and pro America.

I want my child to gain entrance into the university of his choice because he has sacrificed the mall, the weekend excursions and that which accomplishes nothing for good grades and solid test scores.

I want him to take charge of his own retirement plans – not be limited by government mandates. Why should he be forced to allow the government to give him a return on his money that barely keeps pace with his bank’s passbook savings accounts?

I want him and his children to live in a country where the president and administration are loyal, proud Americans – who do not view being Americans as something to apologize for. A country where the president is proud to say “One nation under God” – not a phony that insultingly salutes the flag and those who defend our freedoms with veiled contempt.

I dream of a future for my children where the president, the courts and the Congress do not genuflect before the throne of the United Nations, a future where the courts do not overrule the will of the people.

I want my child to be more proud of the leader of his country than the quarterback of a losing sports team.

My question to you the readers is: If you want the same things for your children and grandchildren, why would you ever vote for a phony Marxist-Leninist elitist?

Dear Mychal, that is one awe inspiring statement for the future, for America, something any worthy American can and has the right to aspire to.
I hope and pray we, who believe in Our Nation, can collect together, and overcome the enemies who have made it inside the walls, and laugh as they work in total destruction, enjoying the pain they see of right minded patriots, and knowing their work is moving forward, apace, because so many abide in total ignorance.
Only a people who place their faith in God, choose His law to abide under, and recognize that principle is inviolable, without attendant destruction of people, are capable of realising the dream of Dr. King, the dream you so eloquently put in our terms of today.
May God bless you and the courage you have to make such a reminder of where we aim to be and what we must accomplish for posterity, those Americans whose parents are not yet born.

Mychal, so far all of your rants have followed the beliefs and morals of true American patriots. We are thankful to you for having the soap box to stand on, and using it to promote God, family and country. The truth team trying to shut you down…..need look no farther than their master to identify lies and the greatest liar of all, Obama. May God continue to bless you as you put our deepest desires in print.

Here Here! Well said, Mychal! It’s not what the government can do for us but what we can do to have our People rely upon their own intuition and self-discovery to establish strong backbones and ability to ward off any tyranical person(s) who wishes to take American Liberty away from The People of the United States. For, it surely will happen again and again and we must prepare our youth to know what lies within The Constitution of the United States, The first ten amendments which are The Bill of Rights and The Declaration of Independence and what it means to be a Free Country! The volume that God speaks through The Constitution of The United States is loud and clear and for all American Citizens. Let no man put us under dictatorship or evil ways to destroy the most sought after country in the entire world! Here in America, In God We Still Trust!

I wonder if Obama’s resistance to the United States “Exceptionalism” has any correlation to the stories I’ve read about young blacks in school being harassed and threatened by others simply because they are trying to excel and better their lives? I believe I’ve read such terms as “Oreo” applied to these individuals.

I have no personal experience with this happening, but I do remember that the “brains” in our high school were looked at as a little strange by a significant percentage of the population. Nerd had not come into the vocabulary yet, but a pocket protector and a slide rule were dead giveaways. Probably it was jealously of straight A’s when most of the rest of us had to struggle for B’s or a gentleman’s C’s. The school athelets were a whole different class.

I do know that many of these “brains” have led very satisfying and rewarding lives, one being my sister, “Super Lib” and another the head of optimality at Johns Hopkins. Others have owned salmon packing plants in Alaska, recognized attorneys and more than a few bringing the word of God to people around the world that have barely learned more than how to build grass huts and shoot monkeys to eat with bows and arrows or blowguns. Almost 30% of the class (including females) has served in the military and some made it a career. A previous Commander of the “Red Horse” brigade is one. It was expected of us as we had been raised by the “Greatest generation” and they refused to see their suffering be for nothing.

Our graduating class still has great pride in our school and the successful student’s achievements (not that all were successful) and the accomplishments of these “brains” has somehow become part of our shared pride.

The excellence of the school has been carried forward to this day and is now one of the top ten Charter Schools in the country. I can’t help but believe that the standards set 50 years ago (we were the first class to attend both junior and senior glasses to graduation)have become the partial foundation of its achievements today. And my class gets to share in the achievements of today’s graduating classes as if we had something to do withit.

What is the parable about the seeds planted in rocks and good soil? I think there’s some relevance here.

Mychal, An excellent summation of all that those of us who care want not only for our own succeeding generations but for all people on the planet. And Bill Sr. your essay is outstanding!

Mankind cannot achieve the full potential intended for it by our Creator without personal freedom, coupled with responsibility and the willingness to work. As long as people allow increasingly suppressive governments to dictate their daily lives whether through ill-conceived laws, regulations, excessive taxes and handouts, or more physically brutal tactics, the human race will continue to stumble. We are each “endowed by our Creator” with a spark and desire for freedom burning in our breast. The system of limited governance, our Constitution, that was inspired in the minds and hearts of our Founding Fathers was designed by God, our Creator, to bring into being an environment conducive to the advancement of man through his own efforts to excel in his chosen endeavors. That environment developed the United States of America into “the shining city on the hill” and bastion of individual liberty and possibility that people from cultures all over the world made great sacrifices to come to so they too could become Americans and share in the opportunities available here. Well, that is the way it used to be. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, Hitler and Mussolini declared war on the United States and most Americans put aside their differences and the isolationist tendencies that had grown after World War One. The Nation’s people immediately recognized the dire threat and became united in effort to crush those attempting to gain control of the world for their own evil purposes and the almost unimaginable North American productive capability along with the willingness to sacrifice blood and treasure to defend freedom made the unconditional surrender of the Axis of Evil inevitable. Yet now, nearly seven decades since the end of that devastating conflict, people who want to change our once homogenous culture into one split into various hyphenated Americans are violating our borders every day. Our government refuses to take the necessary measures to stop that massive invasion and in fact by executive decree encourages the continuation of it and goes to court against those states that are trying to protect themselves. Our once great nation is being purposely divided and split asunder along racial, economic and ethnic lines into non-cohesive groups each whining or screaming in their own interests, not those of a strong, united America. And divided we will fall.

In order for the dream that Mychal and all of us have for our progeny to stand a chance of being made real and possible, we actual American Citizens must be willing to do whatever it takes to remove this would-be dictatorship and all its tentacles from power before it can solidify its grip even deeper than it has already. The forces working to destroy what we have had will not go away just because we simply ignore them. We now stand literally on the last line of defense to save our liberty. I still believe the American Spirit, the sleeping tiger, is alive and hope it will not take another Pearl Harbor or September Eleventh to wake it up to the danger our enemies, both foreign and domestic but more the latter, now pose.

    mychal,

shouldn’t the entire world always be like this? we go from century to century, with not much changing – governments run by crazies and sociopaths, over and over ad infinatum, destroying countries and their neighboring countries in many cases. I maintain that, if no one ever had too much power or authority, there would never be war, pestilence, or poverty. Yet, we keep thinking that someone can lift us out of unhappiness, and we believe it. I don’t understand….people have never needed to be ruled, at any time in history. But, it happens over and over, with terrible results. What is the end game of power? Power is non existent, and always will be, because nothing is ever gained by exerting control – only short term results, but not lasting happiness. America became great because of compassion, risk taking, entrepreneurialship, proper rules and laws, freedom of expression and religion. Why is it allowed to deviate? Everyone wants it this way, and somehow evil worms burrow into our green apples.

Mychal Massie, you are the epitome/essence of the Constition. apple pie, Fatherhood and the flag and all that is good in the face of evil.

Thank you Mychal. You mentioned American Exceptionalism. Why should any of us be ashamed of being exceptional? Why should any of us listen to the voices from leftists and socialists telling us that we should be ashamed of exceptionalism? Why should we not want to be exceptional in whatever field of endeavor we choose? What is wrong with being exceptional? The answer is, nothing. Nothing is wrong with individual exceptionalism or American Exceptionalism. Thank you again.

I agree which is why my husband and I unapologetically raise our children with God as their foundation. The most important job I have as a parent is to make sure my children make it into the kingdom of Heaven! Period! I don’t want sports or games or any electronic to become their idol and keep them away from having a relationship with Christ. There is no cost you can put on a person’s salvation! This past Mother’s Day I received a card from my husband with the message, “Here’s to the mother who teaches our children they can take over the world” I will always tell my children they need to have a relationship with Jesus Christ first and foremost in their life as it sets the foundation for everything else they will ever encounter. Nothing comes near it. From the day these children were given to us, I have been prepared as a parent to make sure they understand our government and can make educational choices, not guesses, as to what to expect from their governmental leaders. It takes time and work. I grew up in a house, imperfect, but much the same way. My parents did not raise a young girl to be a dunce or to sit back and accept the norm. I was raised with and around people who prayed hard, worked hard and fought hard and then prayed some more. Citizens of this country have got to quit drowing themselves in entertainment and consumerism. They are so “blind” to what is going on around them they cannot even make an educated guess. Respect yourself enough to make yourself knowledgeable and you will begin to see great results.

Thank you Mychal, thank you Bill Sr.
I was in London last week, and visited the newly completed statue honoring the boys who flew from England. There were two veterans there talking with the visitors. We are down to the final few who set all aside and defended liberty and freedom at great peril and sacrifice. . Now this means so little to those who demand … and receive everything from the nanny state.
    I do pray for America.
Godspeed your epistles to awaken the sleepers.

Amen Amen and Amen Mychal, I meant to post this for the Fourth, I did this a few years back to remind me of who we were.
    America, Have you forgotten?
“God Shed His Grace on Thee!”
The American experiment chapter of history, though relatively short, represents one of mankind’s most noble achievements. Never had such a group of religious pilgrims, adventurous explorers, ambitious merchants, determined dreamers, humbled castoffs, and even men and women in bondage been bound together in time and given the opportunity to build a nation of their own that would become a “shinning light unto the world”.
These men and women came from around the world blending a variety of cultures, heritages, languages, colors, and goals. Inspired by the natural beauty and bounty of the land and guided by their faith in divine providence, they proceeded laboriously to establish here for themselves and their posterity a blessed home with freedom for all gratefully acknowledging and thanking the almighty father for this gift.
This common denominator guided the bravest and most dedicated of these to embark on an effort to set in place a form of government for their land unlike any other, a republic that would give all who embraced it the chance to live in freedom. The union of their determination and their faith in God along with the desire to preserve these blessings brought forth the establishment of what ultimately became “one nation under God with liberty and justice for all”. History records the struggles they endured both within and against all foreign enemies in order to defend and perfect their republic. In so doing their blood has been shed not only on their own soil but in the lands from which they came.
This nation has withstood every test of its spirit by those who would deny its resolve. Fortunate are we who call this land our home and this nation our birthright. We have truly inherited the land of the free and the home of the brave. However, those of us who understand our proud history and the faithful dedication of those who sacrificed their lives and sacred honor to preserve this land of liberty for over two hundred years can not help but be concerned at what we see happening around us today.
The destruction of families by addictions to drugs and alcohol, preoccupation with personal gratification in entertainment, promiscuity, and materialism all are contributing to a culture that belies the ideals and moral values of our founding fathers which have enabled our people to sustain this great nation not only for ourselves but for the sake of the oppressed and poor around the world. Personal responsibility is replaced with the concept that individual freedom supersedes established moral principles in our society or the security of our country. The pursuit of and belief that what we desire is what we have the right to do or to have regardless of the laws or social norms designed to protect us from self destruction.
It is crucial for us that we realize our “free will” was not granted to us by the state but a gift from the God which this nation beheld and proclaimed at its founding. Our cherished constitution, enlightened by its preamble, granted us freedom from any rule other than those contained in it, not freedom to do as we pleased within it. The creator, pronounced so proudly but humbly in our preamble, gave us an equality the founders knew every human deserved. Those thoughtful and righteous souls in Philadelphia realized the difference between being free men with good will and simply free men with a free will.
Today America faces a challenge like none we have ever encountered. Our very existence as a free society with liberty for all is threatened. The enemy isn’t interested in our land or possessions. This enemy wants to destroy our way of life, to take away the very soul of our republic and replace it with a religious belief and way of life of their own.
Though their numbers are few and their weapons limited at this time their tactics give them an advantage. Until now this formidable invisible force has used fear and terror to accomplish its goals. More than three thousand Americans have paid with their lives and all of us with a minimal loss of secured freedom to realize the presence of the enemy among us. Their homeland and their presence are global, their intentions announced and unfurled around the world. They have expressed and displayed their willingness and desire to sacrifice their lives to eliminate our religious morality and system of government for as long as it takes with the use of every weapon they have or can be developed for them.
We are at war with an ideology of hate that instills its venom in the minds of its children and willing to use them as suicide bombers. We must, as we did in the middle of the last century, put aside our political differences and thoughts of future planning and think about saving our cherished heritage of freedom and our beloved homeland for our children. The words “united we stand, divided we fall” today are not a patriotic jingle, they are a fact of life. All men of good will, our elected officials, and spiritual leaders need to come together to address and reestablish our nations foundations by reviving through word, and actions the founding fathers spirit, understanding, and noble intentions.
We must prayerfully come together because the enemy knows their greatest weapon is our own willingness to ignore them and their intentions with continued debate among us as to the threat they pose not only to us but all freedom loving nations.
Regardless of our actions in the face of this challenge life will go on. We must now only decide if we are a nation divided by philosophy and at odds with our purpose or united by our trust in the creator whose gifts we cherish and determined to share and ensure them for all mankind.
May God help us if we do not see the need and respond faithfully and totally to honor our heritage, freedoms, and liberty not abuse them or deny their value or dishonor the sacrifices of those before us so that for the sake of freedom loving people the world over “this nation, under God, shall not perish from the earth”.
