WND Weekly: Which candidates not to trust

© 2011
Those running for the Republican presidential nomination are doing what politicians do – they are promising the old “when I’m elected I’ll blah, blah, blah,” ad nauseam. Their straight-faced, numerous assurances are, or can be, convincing, until people stop to think that these people have been in elected office in some capacity nearly all of their adult lives. But it isn’t until they decide to be president that they suddenly decide they know exactly what needs to be done to solve the nation’s problems.

They’ve spent years and decades in political positions, and their records say all that needs be said, but with the allure of the presidency, they suddenly have all the answers. The question that begs an answer is, why didn’t they have the answers before? Why didn’t they go to the mat for we the people before?

Then there is Obama. After his election, his promises turned out to be the equivalent of a “Feast of Barmecide.” He now no longer promises anything; he behaves as a ruler or, better put, he behaves as a narcissistic, bipolar-schizophrenic, Communist dictator. He no longer promises anything – he now dictates. “Vladimir” Obama now just issues edicts and demands they be followed without question. He doesn’t need Congress, and he couldn’t care less about the American people. His intent is to rule and to separate by class and race.

And then there are the people. Contempt for Obama is at unprecedented levels, and it should be – he deserves the unmitigated scorn and wrath of America for what he has done to our nation and our form of government. But we also cannot absolve the Republicans for their role in the nation’s decline. Yet, it’s election time, and the candidates are lining up to say whatever their handlers tell them to say and promise.

[Both Mark Twain and Desraeli said that there are three kinds of lies:
Little White Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics. Click here to Learn how to Lie.]

Therein lies the problem – people are looking to government instead of looking to themselves. And, thanks specifically to the socialism that came into being with Franklin D. Roosevelt, government has been able to strip the people of their self-reliance more and more, until people become government dependents.

As did the families of other baby boomers, my mothers lived through the Great Depression, and the greatest gift of their generation was self-reliance. They came from a time when people had to fend for themselves, and that’s what’s missing today. Most in the post-baby-boom generation not only forget, but also do not realize that there was a time when many, if not most, built their homes themselves. They don’t realize that, for many, the only way you had steak, chicken, or ham was if you grew the cow, chicken, or pig yourself and then butchered same. And most importantly, what most in the post-baby-boom generation do not realize is that rugged individualism, which Obama recently defined as a failure, is why we have cities, towns and industry west of the Colorado River.

Baby boomers are the progeny of those who believed in themselves, not government. That generation didn’t look for handouts or government subsidies. They joined together, helped one another and created opportunities for themselves and, whenever possible, for one another. It wasn’t easy, but they were free, and what they had belonged to them.

The fight that exists in those of our baby-boom generation was based on examples handed down from our families and others who had lived through the Depression. I submit that government care and dependence have done nothing but breed generations of people who instinctively give up and turn to government instead of creating ways to weather the realities of life.

Specific to my point, that is what politicians prey upon. They breed discontent and animus based on perceptions of what one has that another doesn’t. They spend their lives in offices making things worst, then claim that by being president they can make things better – and people believe them.

I believe we are at the intersection of the end of self-reliance and total government dependence. If we do not make a stand here, it will be necessary to kowtow and submit to every foolish folly demanded by a socialist, politically correct government demanding people comply with its edicts, or those people will not receive that subsistence they have become dependent upon.

Our Founding Fathers created a government to free its citizens from the tyrannical rule of monarchs, but over time – through the insidious use of crisis moments – nefarious individuals and organizations have been able to change government by corrupting both the individuals elected and the way they get elected.

The message we need to hear from candidates is that the system has been broken and cannot be fixed. It must be dismantled, allowing only the Constitution to remain, and be rebuilt based upon that hallowed document. Any candidate today, who currently holds office or has held office, who doesn’t take at least partial credit for the decline of America should not be taken at their word that they’ll make a difference as president.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you big blessings for you 2012. Another election year is upon us and once again, I haven’t a clue as to whom to cast my vote for. My oldest daughter Elena will be voting for the first time and she wants to know where to cast her vote as well. I welcome your feed back Mychal!

I’m not sure who I would select from the group of Repbulican Candidates. My Cain is not here any longer so it’s more and more research on my own. Newt has the pizzaz and gumption and knowledge it will take to face off with Obama. But, I don’t want to sell the other R. Candidates short. Bachman is smarter than a whip but I don’t think she’s another Margaret Thatcher…and, that is what we need to pit against Obama’s writers. The Liberal Media is producing B.S. about Obama being liked by 50% of voters. No one asked me, and I’ve read about who pays the Liberal Media’s salaries. G. Soros has some Liberal Media’s big prigs on his “Board!” I’m researching Santorum because he appears to be extremely knowing and intent to rid this Country of a cancer that has eaten into our Constitution. I will stop here because I’m just blabbering and need to get back to my stack of books and real, true political news.
I just had a news flash about Homeland Security Department taking over Sheriff Joe and his Deputies. They are building a big fat lie about Joe’s inability to handle his job and accusing him of mistreating the illegals…what?!
Must stop here. Almost More upsetting than wanna be Presidents.

Mychal> Thanks for the Rant. And, I’m glad that your mother is with you. That in itself is a blessing! Have a Blessed Christmas!

  4. Fay Miller December 22, 2011 at 9:13 pm #

    Mychal,
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. I know Gods eyes are filled with tears when he looks at what we have done to the world he gave us to take care of. We have made a great mess of it.
I really like Herman Cain and think he would have made a great President. I also like Sarah Palin and think she could turn this country around. The Democrats have absolutely tried to destroy both of these people. Now they are working on Newt. Newt may have made some mistakes, but who hasn’t. He really made Bill Clinton look good on the balanced budgets and a number of others things. Newt can really destroy Obama in a debate like none of the others can. You won’t find a smarter or more intellegent person than Newt and the Democrats are scared of him the same way they are of Herman Cain and Sarah Palin. The Democrats are using their game of making everyone think they would like Obama to run against Newt instead of Mitt, guess again, they are hoping we all buy that. Mitt is just like Obama and their are a lot of other things to do as President than just the economy. I hope peope don’t write in a choice for President, because that will insure an Obama win. New Mexico Sheriffs Standing Tall
December 22, 2011 by Larry Pratt

In New Mexico, people are standing up to the Feds.Gun Owners of America member Dr. Ray Seidel alerted me to the stirring of freedom that is taking place in his village of Ruidoso, N.M. I have already reported on the first battle with Mayor Ray Alborn and how he tried to impose an unConstitutional gun ban in the village.

I recently interviewed Seidel on my Gun Owners News Hour weekly radio program and asked him about several acts of local interposition in the surrounding counties — all of which underscore the importance of the office of the sheriff and the militia.

Malfeasance, lying, cheating, “forked tongues”, power grabs…it all has been a part of politics ever since the very first elected official on planet earth. It is the way of humanity I suppose. Today, the vast majority of political figures are attorneys. Need I say more? At least in this country anyway. One can simply not trust them and I find myself becoming increasingly skeptical. Obama is an embarrassment to this nation except for those who are in a severe state of denial. Newt has a bad past but I firmly believe that he is the only one capable of defeating the oratorical illusionist/narcissist Obama. And, with his past I think that he would be subject to being under the microscope for his entire term in office. He knows that. Honestly, I feel that the only person running who has not a speck of dirt in the past is Bachmann but, I do not think she would be able to debate Obama effectively and this would simply allow Obama back in for another term…an absolutely disastrous event. I think that has a lot to do with her lack of support. People are afraid that she will be too weak to defeat Obama in the debates and therefore allow him back for another term. That leaves the rest and Newt is the most powerful and knowledgeable of them. And, like Obama, he is fully capable of being mean-spirited and politically cruel which is what it will take in spades to match an insane narcissist like Obama.

    • sumitch December 22, 2011 at 11:32 am #

I’m with you on Newt tthan43. I really like and hope that Newt will follow Obama around if he is the GOP candidate for President and be behind him in 4 hours to rebute his statements. Newt is the superior debater and we need someone to display Obama’s lies and ignorance in the faint hope that those that put him in office will listen this time.

    • Christel December 22, 2011 at 6:17 pm #

I agree with you and Sumich. They all have ‘baggage’, but I also firmly believe that Newt can beat Obama with his tongue. None of the others stand a remote chance of out-debating the Obummer. I sure hope that some of Obummers ‘past’ doings will be brought out in public. I wish Fast and Furious would come to trial, which Obama is a huge part of, along with Eric Holder. I keep reading about it, but don’t see anyone stepping up to the plate to bring this public….like Watergate.

  7. MT December 22, 2011 at 9:57 am #

Thomas Sowell endorses Newt Gingrich. I’m sure you have read his arcles and this on in particular. I agree 100%.
“… Those who want to concentrate on the baggage in Newt Gingrich’s past, rather than on the nation’s future, should remember what Winston Churchill said: “If the past sits in judgment on the present, the future will be lost.”

I will be voting for Newt Gingrich, even if I have to do a write-in.

The progressive conservatives and progressive republicans are attempting to divide and conquer, while remaining cannibals all.
I refer to Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter and the like who refer to Newt’s past as the albatross.

Don’t underestimate Newt Gingrich; he’s not afraid of the truth or a good fight.

    • sumitch December 22, 2011 at 11:35 am #

Not sure of the exact quote, but “Let thee amongst us that is without sin cast the first stone”. Newt has baggage? Sure he does. Now name the one that doesn’t.

    • Christel December 22, 2011 at 8:53 pm #

I also love Thomas Sowell. He’s AWESOME. I’ve been reading his stuff for about 2 years now and agree with everything he has to say. I did also read that he is backing Newt….which I’m really happy to hear him back someone. The friggin lame street media need to thrown out on their asses. They’re a combined group of worthless ‘words’ that come out of their mouths. I leave the living room when they are on….if I even have any of them on. They do more deceitful story telling than the Devil himself could congure up. It was sickening to watch a debate and then listen to the media talk about it….what they had to say just told me they didn’t even watch it!

    • Branwen December 26, 2011 at 11:17 pm #

yep I think Newt is pretty sharp. my favorite was Cain, but after the scam of the century against him which still upsets me, I would like to see Bachman win but I dont think she will, and if some how she ended up on top of the polls, “they” would railroad her the same way they did Cain.

      • Mychal January 2, 2012 at 8:47 pm #

branwen: I too am still angry at what they did to Herman…there was no justification for it…that said…I only know who I won’t be supporting…I say no to paul, perry, gingrich, romney, huntsman…

    mychal,

Thank God you have your mother, and God Bless her at Christmas.

After much thought (during an extended time of unemployment, too much time to think), I have realized that the ridiculous America we find ourselves in might just be democracy at work. I detect great frustration in your articles over the Obama rise. And so are we all, frustrated, by the unknown and scary times we probably face ahead. Whether we face freedom in the future, or possibly tyranny, the place we are in was inevitably going to happen. This is obviously the 75 year cycle of boom/bust. Part of the problem now is that we live in a crowded, nuclear, media saturated world.

Back in the days of the Old West, life was scary in different ways. In those days, the country was so large and impassible, and travel was slow, by horse. In those days, lawlessness was rife, because women and children were not protected by laws that we have now. So, the chill of the winter night, the lonliness of the open range, and the possibility of armed robbers was much more pronounced. The fears we have today are different. But, people are pretty much the same. Fear and uncertainly always make us uneasy, and unable to understand why human beings can’t get it right. But, human beings can be incredibly kind and generous when lurched out of their greedy worlds. Many people have helped me in my dark hours.

Whether we want limited government or not, it continues to grow. It’s like trying to fight a cancer that just keeps coming back. Our growing government is a result of the anger of the populace at a corporate sector that has lost the value of a hard day’s work for a reasonable wage. Right now is the knee jerk reaction to the many years of corporate impropriety. When it comes down to it, almost everyone wants to create value and purpose with their lives. Sometimes they go wayward and cheat, like the wandering husband who cheats on a devoted, beautiful, loving wife and children. No one can understand why this happens, even the CEOs who take the multi million dollar payouts as their firm loses money. They know its wrong, but maybe its their one chance to see what its like to have wealth and prosperity in an otherwise poverty stricken world. It’s an amazing dynamic that money cannot buy “happiness”, and probably why people keep chasing it and chasing it, like a cocaine addict trying to keep the high, but all the while, being miserable. It’s also an amazing dynamic that “the best things in life are free”, and when I look at my granddaughter, this is no more evident to me.

The worst fate would to be a man who creates great suffering to gain wealth, and then burns in defeat. I feel sorry for the Khaddafis, the Hitlers, the rulers and megalomaniacs throughout history who demolished their own legacy by greed. Than, I look at someone like Bill Clinton, who has led an amazing life, and helped hundreds of millions of people. What a gift, to realize in advance that their true happiness is in bringing people up.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night!

    • sumitch December 22, 2011 at 10:35 am #

I can’t argue that Clinton, when he was President, left us in a much better economic condition. Bills paid money in the bank and no real wars. But don’t forget that it was Newt in the House that forced him into that position. Slick Willies real wish was for personal gain and still is. Just this week, he said he was going to vote for Barry O. That tells me all I need to know about the man.
Mychal’s rant today says (paraphrased) when thinking about politicians, look at what they have done, not what they say. Most (not all) would sell their mother to win an election. So, given the above, let’s not forget what else slick Willie has done. First, a draft dodger. Agree with the conflict or not, as a citizen you don’t get to decide what conflict to fight when called on. Support the conflict or not, a citizen’s duty is to fight the fights decided on by Congress, like them or not. It’s one of the down sides to our form of government in return for the myriad benefits. Second, a liar as President, surpassed only by Barry O in my memory (again, all will lie). “I did not have sex with that woman” is the easy one. Then he argues what sex is with a straight face, showing contempt for the intelligence of the country. Third, allied to the second, a skirt chaser with no consideration for the image of his country, no respect for his wife and none for his daughter. Sex is job # 1 was his motto, in the White House and in Arkansas. Adding in bombing aspirin factories, forgetting the $20,000 he owed his mother, remembering what it was like in Hope, Arkansas when he didn’t live there at the time he was talking about paints a picture of what he has done that isn’t impressive to me (not that he or anyone else gives a flip about impressing me). So other than the first, what has he done? Having said this, I’d take him over the current swine in a Yankee minute.

Prayers for your mother, you and yours in the name of God and the Freedom he gave us in America. The current field of Republican candidates are dupes compared to the honest integrity of Hermann Cain.

God will choose our next President for good or for bad. Before November, every man, woman and child should read the ‘Old Testiment’ of the Bible. Pay particular attention to the Chapter on Leviticus wherein God spells out punishment for those who do not heed his warnings.

Our Founders made our form of government to serve Christians for Christians and any other faith that comes to America in peace. For those who fail to abide, death will be their reward. God has already prepared the elixir that will forment change to meet His goals and no amount of praying is going to forstall his rath, because as Americans we collectively have allowed his Promise Land to become Satans playground and for that the sentence is Death.

In order to live a happy and healthy life, we must struggle to fight against the forces of natural inclination in our lives. Only by doing the things that are counter-intuitive to our nature, can we find a successful decent life.

The measure of a person is determined by how much natural inclination is opposed in their daily lives.

Natural inclination gives way to fear and insecurities. In many cases we become paralyzed by fear. When in the state of paralysis we make irrational choices and the fear becomes reality. Fear destroys relationships. Fear destroys our health. But if we commit to living a life of faith and love, we will overcome our fears and live in peace. Rejecting the fear that is directly in front of us is difficult, and it is even more difficult to face the fear and deal with the issue. But once the fear is dealt with it is gone, otherwise the fears will linger. Lingering fear will eventually consume us.

Natural inclination focuses on the wound and the offender, while counter-intuition realizes that we need to forgive and rebuild relationships for a healthy emotional and spiritual life.

Natural inclination tells us to gratify our lust for sex where ever we find it. But immediate self-gratification has destroyed many families, relationships, political careers and health. The only constructive sexual relationship exists within the bonds of marriage.

Natural inclination tells us to excuse our boorish behavior or blame inappropriate behavior on others or circumstances. Blame is always the easy choice. Blame makes us the victim. Blame helps us elude the responsibility for our actions. Blame eases the emotional burden on our conscience and blame also absolves us the need for critical self-analysis and the possibility that we may have believed a lie and deceived ourselves. But the path of critical self-analysis will produce a positive change. The acceptance of responsibility will cause changes in our circumstances and in our hearts.

Natural inclination desires comfort and security. But life can’t be lived without taking risks, conquering and failure. There can be no glory in victory without the possibility of a crushing defeat. Without suffering, there can be no gain.

Natural inclination wants to do the minimal amount to get by. But the Bible commands us to go the extra mile. And if we want to keep our jobs, we need to go beyond the minimum.

Natural inclination desires the centralization of power and control. By contrast, all successful governments, businesses and societies have de-centralized their power, pushing command decisions as far down the chain of authority as possible.

When taking natural inclination and counter intuition to its natural outcome, the end result can be seen; especially in politics. Politically speaking, our country has two types of people; politicians and the electorate. Politicians, by nature, want to accumulate and centralize power. The electorate, by nature, want a security blanket and to vote themselves money from the treasury. Most decent people resist the urge to do either, but in cases of trouble and pressures, even the best person gives way to the pressure to alleviate pain, even at their own detriment. We make changes that are well meaning to alleviate pain, especially if we believe that it is a one time event.

All politicians have the common pursuit of being the knight on the white horse coming to rescue the electorate in the distress. And the electorate views themselves as the victim, needing to be rescued. This marriage between politician and electorate is one made in haste and we repent at leisure.

The weight of natural inclination over the years will necessarily drag us down the path of self destruction, away from the ideal that we started out with. It is not necessarily a plot or conspiracy, its just natural inclination.

If left unchecked, the path of natural inclination will always lead us to destruction. There are a few events along the path that are warning signs, but most people just ignore the warnings. The first warning sign is unsustainability. When we pass the first warning sign, we are in no pain or worry, but there is a realization that we can’t go down that path forever. This is a decision point of whether or not to continue on the current path. The next warning sign is discomfort and pain. The path is beginning to wear us down. Our destructive decisions and broken relationships and financial insolvency have brought us to a place of pain. Our pride normally hampers us from admitting failure and reversing course. We misguidedly believe that we can change course if we want to and that we aren’t too far gone.

The distance between warning signs becomes shorter and it isn’t far before we look into the abyss, or the point of no return.

      bernie: worthy points…

  11. Elizabeth Lovett December 21, 2011 at 3:20 pm #

    Dominic Wohltman,

You are just as native and mistaken about Paul’s position as he is. You blindly follow a man who spouts anti-Semitic beliefs, like OWS protesters, along with his supposedly not knowing about his position about race in the newsletter. On the Constitution. While Ron Paul my want to position himself as the foremost leader of liberty I don’t think legalizing Prostitution or illegal drugs is what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they enshroud one of the most sacred and unspoken right. I don’t agree with him on anything because he is wrong on the important principled positions along with the role and responsibility of the President. He ignores the fact that Iran has nuclear weapons by saying that Iran should have them because neighboring countries possess nuclear weapons. However, what we do know is that Iran is the only country threatening to use those weapons on Israel, I don’t think neither Saudi Arabia or Jordan are threatening to use those weapons against Israel. Therefore, it is very dangerous to ignore this type of neurotic ideology. Ron Paul’s $1T cuts involves cutting the Governments budget and reducing funding, and not growing the economy which is not working on the right problem and typical of a politician. Growing the economy while simultaneously cutting the budget is what is needed right now, and that is the reason, my friend, that I will be writing in Herman Cain’s name on my ballot. You are terribly mistaken to blindly put this country in peril because you and Con. Paul’s supporters refuse to see the writing on the wall. Ron Paul’s ideology is incoherent and risky at best.

    • Dominic Wohltman December 21, 2011 at 4:17 pm #

Elizabeth, I was trying to be gentle before, but now you are espousing outright lies.
1)Paul does not preach anti semitism; rather, he respects Israel tremendously and respects her soverignty.
2)You obviously lack the intellectual honesty to learn the truth about Paul’s supposed racism. If you did, you would already be aware that the smear attempt has been repeatedly debunked.
3)The Founding Fathers believed in a small Federal Gov’t and states rights; Paul is not saying either of the 2 (prostitution or drugs) should be legal OR illegal at the FEDERAL level, but rather left up to the states to decide. << Get your facts straight!!
4)There is no FACTUAL knowledge that Iran has nukes OR, for that matter, is trying to get them. How soon wee forget the basis for the war in Iraq over supposed Weopons of Mass Destruction which didnt' exist!!! << Paul was against that war as well for the same reasons.
5)Paul has never said, "Iran should have Nukes" << that is an outright lie!! He has said "we can't blame them for wanting one casue everyone around them has them" (which I agree with) which is totally different.
6)As far as Iran threatening Israel – Let Israel take care of itself!!…It is not our problem.
7)His $1T budget cut plan will not stymie the economy, but rather stave off an emininent economic collapse. Gov't needs to get out of the business of funding/over regulating and leave it to individuals to do for themselves (A true Free Market).

Please get your facts straight regarding what he says and stop regurgitating talking points of an MSM deliberately trying to ignore/hurt him buy lying and mis-stating facts. As for your support of Herman Cain, you're entitled to your own opinion. Personally, the fact that he was a chairman of the KC Federal Reserve made me skeptical of his sincerity. That and his support for the TARP bailouts and inability to see the financial collapse several years ago as evidenced by his statements in an interview a mere day (maybe several days) before it took place.

      • Mychal December 21, 2011 at 6:02 pm #

dominic wohltman: points 4,5,6 are sufficient enough to not support ron paul…point 1, is open to interpretation…but the fact that ron paul and pat buchanan are prominently displayed as being supportive of a group on white supremacist website gives Elizabeth every reason to question him…

        • Dominic Wohltman December 21, 2011 at 6:21 pm #

Mr. Massie, I respect your opinion, but humbly disagree. Personally, I believe America needs to start worrying about what’s going on at home and stay out of the affairs of other nations. The gov’t has lied too many times in regards to war (e.g., gulf of tonkin, sinking of Lucitania, Iraq <<just to name a few) for me to buy into the hype of this supposed imminent threat that Iran poses to us and Israel. Even if it were true, why can't Israel take care its own and defend itself? And sir, prominently displayed doesn't equal fact. After all, Herman Cain was prominently displayed as an adulterer and serial sexual miscreant.

          • Mychal December 21, 2011 at 9:11 pm #

dominic wohltman: as I have stated I disagree philosophical w/ ron paul..that said I disagree philosophically w/ libertarianism as a whole…pursuant to ron paul and buchanan being listed as supportive of white supremacist website…on my facebook group page I left door open that ron paul may not even know he was on it…I couldn’t say that w/ any degree of confidence about pat buchanan…

The Man, on top of all else stated here, is just as much a liar as Obama who never heard one word of Jeremiah Wright’s sermons!

elizabeth lovett: I will be writing Herman’s name in as well…

      • sumitch December 22, 2011 at 11:10 am #

Writing in Mr. Cain’s name may be a satisfying protest vote, but it will do nothing to get Barry O out of the white house. We need to be looking for the person that has the best chance of getting Mr. Vacation and Mrs. Super Racist out of D C.

    • sumitch December 22, 2011 at 11:02 am #

Elizabeth, unless you have intelligence that our government doesn’t, Iran is not yet a nuclear nation. And I wasn’t aware that Jordan is either.

Rep. Paul is a recognized authority on economics. Cutting our strangling debt and curbing spending seems to be a decent start to growing the economy, certainly a better idea than Barry O. has.

I keep a copy of the constitution handy just in case I want to pick nits, but I can’t find a word about our founders writings on about prostitution or drugs there. Ben Franklin was a big womanizer. Maybe that’s why there’s nothing about them in it.

Not saying he’s the one, but Rep. Paul has at least given us an idea of what he would do about the sorry state of affairs we find ourselves in unlike the rest of the GOP group. I’m not sure he could stand up to the golden tongue of Obama though. Barry’s a far more accomplished liar that Rep. Paul is. I will concede that he comes across a tad weird, but I’d take him over the current vacationer any time.

Mr. Massie I really appreciate your article and insightfulness. I believe that this current crop of candidates are all politicians and while it can be a noble profession I guess, they are all the reason we are in the current financial position but the President kicked it up about five more notches. I heard Mitt Romney in a sound bite from Greta’s show say that he believes that the President is just another big spending liberal! This shows Gov. Romney’s complete ignorance to the objectives of the President and his goal to make this country a socialist country. This is the problem with politicians. In an effort to be cordial and nice they completely miss the point. I guess we can say that Mitt Romney believes the polls that say the President is personally liked so therefore Romney will not call him out on his socialist record. But, Romney, like John McCain, will destroy a Republican, like Herman Cain, at the drop of a hat. Unbelievable!

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

elizabeth lovett: obama is like about as much as malaria carrying mosquitos…and for any politician to play that down proves my point….

    • sumitch December 22, 2011 at 11:14 am #

How does Mr. Romney’s statement about Barry O have anything to do with his intelligence or realizing that Barry O certainly has socialist leanings?

    sigh

its going to be a newt-mitt battle.
I could support newt, think hes pragmatic enough to know how pissed we are.
if its mitt I will do a write in. I will not sell my soul to a candidate.

    • Mychal December 21, 2011 at 8:06 pm #

dmacleco: as I’ve repeatedly shared…only way I would support newt is if he were v/p pick on Herman ticket…newt needs someone to keep him in chk or he will be off the reservation in a heartbeat…his mea culpa during the debate was nothing more than political strategy aimed at having us dismiss his past…

  14. Richard December 21, 2011 at 10:53 am #

Mychal – I wish you and your family the very Bestest Best Christmas you have ever had, and may you now and forever be Blessed of God, and Highly Favored!

Ron Paul is the only Candidate who takes the Constitution seriously, and he has the voting record to prove it. That’s why the establishment media hates him. Funny, but his view of economics and Government is more in line with the Founding Fathers than any of the rest who, in reality, are just a flip side to the Obama Coin. People should really take a close look at what he stands for.

    • Elizabeth Lovett December 21, 2011 at 11:04 am #

Ron Paul is just as dangerous if not more for this country than Barack O’Bama. In addition, it was revealed in the debate that he was one of the largest recipients of earmarks for his district, which means he did indeed contribute to the financial problems that we are having today. Additionally, his racist views that were revealed in a newsletter where he now says he doesn’t remember who wrote the newsletter. Didn’t they denigrate Ronald Reagan for not remembering? If I am not mistaken Ron Paul is a Physician, perhaps not practicing right now, but with all of is supposedly intelligence I should put all of my intelligence aside and believe that he doesn’t either remember or know who a newsletter dictating Ron Paul’s words? This is ridiculous! I hope Ron Paul goes third party and maybe he will pull votes away from The President since many of the Presidents followers have similar beliefs on Iran and foreign policy that Ron Paul and his supporters have.

      • Dominic Wohltman December 21, 2011 at 11:30 am #

Elizabeth, if you listened to the debate and Ron’s answer regarding the earmarks, you would understand that he is against them but puts them in to bring money back to his district rather than let the money go to the Executive brance and be squandered. Secondly, his supposed ‘racist views’ is a non-issue which was shot down back in 2008 when the president of the NAACP, Nelson Linder, immediately came to Paul’s defense. Blaming Paul for the comments of someone else as like holding Mychal Massie for the comments posted on these blogs. A 3rd Party bid during this election cycle would more than likely ensure an Obama victory in my opinion.

        • Elizabeth Lovett December 21, 2011 at 11:44 am #

It maybe true that a third party would ensure Barack Obama’s election then why don’t Paul just reject the idea? Because he is a selfish old man that is only concerned with his own future not the future of the Country. Why would anyone want to go third party knowing that it would ensure the reelection of the President! Furthermore, taking a look at the $1T cuts is also revealing and reveals more about Ron Paul’s positions. Everyone pays the Federal Government, but to then make excuses for taking the money in one year and railing against the earmarks during a campaign is hypocritical at best. He cannot be trusted to do anything because he hasn’t!

          • Dominic Wohltman December 21, 2011 at 2:00 pm #

Elizabeth – As I stated above regarding a 3rd party run of Paul, it is my opinion that it would not be a good idea. Him not ruling it out, however, doesn’t concern me as I will write him in whether he is the repub nominee, 3rd party, or out of the race at that point. I will be casting my vote based on principle rather than indulging the idea of electability. Paul’s stance on Earmarks has been consistent and unwaivering throughout his entire political career as have the rest of his stated beliefs. He’s a man of principle, has a track record of integrity and stands for the constitution. He hasn’t been able to get much done, however, because the majority of those elected to congress over the years by an uneducated and unaware constituency have been working to introduce socialism in America. Only now (last several years) have people as a whole begun to wake up. He has been a champion of abolishing the FED and returning to sound money for 30 years!!; he predicted the housing bubble in 2001 using his understanding of Austrian Economics; he has predicted, with tremendous accuracy, the overall state of affairs that we see today. Instead of echoing talking points of Mainstream Establishment media, maybe you should look into him for yourself. Afterall, it is his stances which are basically driving the 2011 debates! He was mocked in 2008, but not anymore. But don’t take my word for it. You can easily research this for yourself.

dominic wohltman: most of us were predicting housing bubble in 2001 w/ notable exceptions of frank and dodd and raines…greenspan tried repeatedly to warn them and blown off…

elizabeth lovett: I don’t support nor particularly care for ron paul…that said none of the current candidates are going to beat obama because the republican party hierarchy are going to make sure romney gets its nomination…the only question is who they blame for romney loosing…it will be either ron paul or the tea party….

          • sumitch December 22, 2011 at 11:21 am #

An “Old Man”? He’s guilty as charged. We should shoot him for living so long. And yes he’s a doctor. So what?

dominic wohltman: the day the naacp comes to my defense is the day to chk the sky to see if its falling and to chk the weather channel to see if hell has frozen over…lol…especially since I/we were responsible for forcing their head of legal defense and education to step down…

elizabeth lovett: Elizabeth and Dominic what I can tell you is that ron paul and pat buchanan are featured as prominent supporters of a white supremacist website…I personally saw and commented about it on my facebook group page…it was couple months or more back…but its there and we discussed the extent of involvement either actually had in the group…but they are there…

    • Mychal December 21, 2011 at 8:12 pm #

dominic wohltman: I am familiar w/ ron paul’s record…I disagree w/ him philosophically…especially in specific aspects of foreign policy not least of which are his views on Israel…and most assuredly on certain aspects of domestic behavior…

Great idea, but are any of the candidates trustworthy? I don’t feel comfortable with any of them. – The talking heads/pundits keep pushing Newt and Mitt which annoys me. – Is there anyone who’t not tainted? Herman Cain was my man. May sound silly, I feel lost. Is there anyone on the horizon? In NH there a conservative, Hill, who, as of now, sounds pretty good, but doesn’t get recognition. Frustrating!

    • Elizabeth Lovett December 21, 2011 at 11:20 am #

      Hi Anna,

I feel your lost. I am also a Cain supporter because he did bring new ideas and energy to the campaign but we know the establishment, whether Republicans or Democrats, believed that he was a threat so they literally took him out. And you are not lost because many of us feel the same way. I look at this current crop of candidates in disbelief trying to understand how we got here again! Its the same ole same ole cookie cutter candidate that will say anything to get elected. I think we are all adults and can handle some frank direct talk, like we received from Herman Cain. Mitt Romney compromised as Governor and he will be an appeaser as a President. Withstanding his business career, which I admire more than his political career, he really did not accomplish one thing as Governor of Mass. So we are left with Newt Gingrich and I guess we should close our eyes and blindly support and for him. This is so wrong. But, my point is that you are not alone!

      • Mychal December 21, 2011 at 7:56 pm #

elizabeth: ladies I believe me you are not alone…many of us feel the lost and will double our efforts to rid ourselves of them all…

    • Mychal December 21, 2011 at 8:21 pm #

anna zachariah: personally the only one I could even consider would be santorum…and I still haven’t determined if he is running to win or as has been suggested he’s running for a cabinet post…I know him and have wrkd personally w/ him when he was a senator…
