‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

It ain't happening: why Mitt Romney is not a viable candidate

November 10, 2011

Let’s be honest, Mitt Romney is not a viable candidate, no matter what Karl Rove and the media try to shove down our throats or convince us of. Romney is an actor, he’s Obama with a past. He is trying to portray himself as presidential. Let me tell you what every person who has been in the military, organized sports, or any environment where the focal point of direction is ultimately predicated upon the ability of one person. Leaders may be trained, but they’re only made if they are born with the innate capacity, that sets them apart and enables them to think, function and perform in dramatically impressive and capable ways – in the moments others freeze or unravel.

Romney’s track record as governor has been spun more than candy cotton. And as the McCain 2008 opposition research showed Romney’s only core belief is himself. He has flipped and flopped and flipped again, according to the situation. That is not a leader.

Sure, there is no question, that as you learn more about something you may change your position on it, or that as you mature certain positions may soften, harden, or outright change. But that’s not what we are talking about with Romney. In the short period of time since the 2008 presidential elections, he has changed practically every position he held then. The media and the Republican Party apparatchik can try as they may, but there’s no getting away from that. Rick Perry said it best, ostensibly saying that after 50 plus years a person’s positions are ingrained. A person cannot stop being themselves anymore than they can shrink their shoe size.

Romney has changed on illegal immigration, social security, social security privatization, abortion, healthcare, minimum wage, Reagan-Bush, education, he’s even changed his position pursuant to his own conservatism. And that’s only a partial list. Rove and the media cheer him for having reinvented himself. What the heck kind of leadership is that? The answer is, it’s not leadership.

Romeny will say, do, or be anything it takes to get the nomination. But, here again we see Rove, and the Republican apparatchik in full throttle overdrive trying to convince us he is credible – based on the misguided and delusional belief he can beat Obama. Forget for a moment that Obama will crush him in the general election (I’ll explain that why later).

Romney isn’t being promoted because he honest, intelligent, because he has a resume of notable accomplishment or because he is the conservative’s conservative. He is a R.I.N.O. just like Arlen Specter, Mike Castle, Lincoln Chafee, Olympia Snowe, and Susan Collins. How did they and/or have they met the expectations and interests of conservatives?

That they are pushing Romney is indicative of their contempt for us. They continue to site polls that show Romney beating Obama – do not believe it. Romney is this years John McCain. Obama will slice, dice and make him fumble and stutter more than he did during the “It’s your money” presidential debate in Michigan. It’s not because Obama is so gifted, rather it is because Romney is so bad. He has years of flips-flops for the opposition to use against him.

But there is one thing a Romney nomination and presidential loss would accomplish. It would allow Rove to blame the Tea Party voters for the lost, and use that in an attempt to smear and malign Tea Party groups into oblivion. One more thing pursuant to the polls.

Polls can be weighted. Per the poll showing Romney beating Obama in three key states – did they poll most likely to vote, did they poll first time voters or seasoned voters. Was it heavily weighted Republican, Democrat, or independent? What were the other demographics of the poll, i.e. how old were those polled, what were their income brackets, what was their education level, what kind of employment, was it weighted more toward retired or college age? Was it weighted more female or male and what were those demographics?

Romney’s winning is pure agitprop. It ain’t gonna happen – no way, no how.
