‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

I Tried To Warn You, Again

December 15, 2014

I wish I could say I felt better telling you “I told you so,” but I do not. John Boehner and the Republican establishment have aligned themselves with Obama and passed a $1.2 trillion omnibus government funding bill that permits Obama to fund obamacare and fund his illegal amnesty actions.

November 7, 2014, I wrote the following: “At approximately 3:30am, the night of election day, I sent the following email to a few close friends and colleagues. It read: “There’s lots of hand clapping and cheers right now but people have short memories. Remember what we the tea party did in 2010? We didn’t get rid of enough rino incumbents to protect we the people. I’m predicting this time will be worse unless the new blood is drastically different than I and colleagues believe. I hate to be a wet blanket but it is important for someone to sound cautionary alarm. I’ll be ridiculed and called names again but I was right in 2010 and I’m right now. People voted against Obama and democrats; they didn’t vote wisely or else McConnell, Boehner, McCarthy, Cornyn, McCain, et al wouldn’t be in office. Also look for obama to go for broke during lame duck session and look for republicans to push through amnesty in February under guise of immigration reform. And look for them to do nothing substantive about obamacare and that is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s much more that I’ll share later but for now remember I cautioned you. … I know this will be a hard truth for many to understand and/or believe. But I do not say it because I enjoy it, I say it because it is true. I’ve been around Capitol Hill and politics too long not to see this for what it is. I took heat for saying the same thing in 2010 but less than 3 months into things my words were viewed as prescient. My brutal honesty has cost me television appearances, invitations to dinners, charities, gala events (all of which I’ve always resolutely refused to attend anyway), and much money. My singular objective is to inform you the people. If I was interested in being popular I would sell my soul and become an ideologue. (See: http://newdailyrant.wpengine.com/happy-about-the-election-results-you-shouldnt-be/)

Boehner and company have without one ounce of regard for you the voters thumbed their collective noses at you the voters.

[adsanity id=8405 align=alignleft /]The Republicans took away any ability to prevent Obama’s funding of his illegal actions giving amnesty to illegal aliens. Had they waited to pass the funding bill it is possible (albeit highly unlikely) that the Senate Republicans in the New Congress would have voted against the funding measure. But that remote potential was taken off the table because the current lame-duck Senate passed the funding bill after a short period of theater.

During numerous on-air interviews in the run-up to the election and post election I warned that Boehner, et al could not be trusted and supporting them out fear that a bad Democrat would win was not wise. We would still have the majority in the Senate and the House if Mitch McConnell in the Senate and Boehner plus a few more RINOs in the House had been defeated. And by ousting them we would have sent a powerful message. But the usual cowardly excuse of “we can’t let a Democrat win” was used as cover for a massively bad voter decision.

I should here mention that not only does the omnibus government funding bill allow Obama to fund obamacare and his illegal amnesty, but it also funds Planned Parenthood. Thanks to Republicans Obama just might begin to believe there is a Santa Claus.

I told all who would listen that Obama’s supposed “I’ll go it alone” on amnesty was nothing more than a charade to provide cover for Republicans, who apparently everyone but myself and very few others, forgot that Boehner and Republicans had been boasting they would pass an immigration reform bill right away. As I have also said, immigration reform is nothing more than Republican code for amnesty.

Now everyone wins but We the People. Obama got to look like the man he thinks he is which endears him to his base and Republicans get what they want while Boehner can still play the “we didn’t have a choice” card.

In closing let me alert you to a couple other things people probably won’t believe either. Never let it be said that the so-called conservative base can’t be accused of being star struck.

First of all, Ben Carson is pro-amnesty. Next, before everyone gets happy about the Republicans who didn’t vote for the funding bill, people should be asking themselves why and researching their records to see how many of them have expressed support for amnesty in the past. My point being that it is common for these people to cover for one another. For instance, one member of Congress who supports amnesty may need cover to remain popular with his/her constituency for the near future. Another member can provide that cover by voting for a measure because they are perhaps either not running again or they do not have to run again for a couple years. The machinations behind Congressional closed doors are beyond the general public’s willingness to believe.

Finally, Boehner now promises to fight against amnesty for illegals in 2015. He promises this the day after he sold out on amnesty. I stand by my assertion that sometime in early/mid February Republicans will come up with an immigration reform bill that will be nothing more than the calcification of blanket amnesty.

The question that remains is what are you the voters going to do now?[adsanity id=11817 align=alignnone /]
