I Was Thinking

I’m going to share couple things I’ve been thinking about this morning and you can choose to share your thoughts per same. It’s no secret that I’m not a Romney fan and that I will not support him. That said, have you heard anything remotely coherent pursuant to what his plans are for economic recovery? Not even he was able to articulate his economic agenda during a debate when challenged to do so by Herman Cain.

Speaking of Herman Cain, as I tweeted yesterday – I think what Romney and his corporate raiders did at Bain Capital was immoral, but it was not illegal. It was about making money and that’s what capitalism is about. Certain acts of capitalism can be immoral, consider the debit cards being pawned off on unsuspecting persons with poor credit. Romney did nothing illegal at Bain, so I wonder how he feels being falsely accused? I wonder how he feels being Herman Cained? Where were the cries of outrage and consternation of the people crying unfair now, when Herman was being falsely attacked?

Something else I was thinking about and that is I believe liberal church denominations have opened the door for homosexual activists to be victorious and place the courts in charge of what can be preached and taught. Liberal denominations are actively ordaining homosexuals, even though not every individual church within said denominations support or conjoin in agreement with same. If the denomination’s governing body is amenable to same vis-a-vis the ordination of homosexuals – can lawsuits against those churches within the denomination that refuse to participate and preach against same, be far off. I do not think it unreasonable nor a reach to believe liberal courts would side with the bringers of my, at this point, hypothetical “what if?”

Then there is Obama. He’s called for a department of business, which will be the consolidation of several agencies. He has also elevated the head of the Small Business Administration to Cabinet-level status. I see this as nothing more than another in our face power grab that Republicans well quibble and wring their hands over, even as they salivate how they can exploit it when there is Republican president. End result, we’ll see more spending and an epic growth in government. Having the head of the Small Business Administration in the Cabinet gives him direct control over an agency for which he has displayed an extraordinary lack of understanding.

Speaking of which, I can’t wait to see how Boehner, et al, sail us farther down the river of no return, pursuant to Obama’s demands for another trillion-plus dollars in debt ceiling moneys. I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to wrestle it around the Keystone Pipeline that Obama has no intention of letting come to fruition. But then what do I know?

These are some of the things I was thinking about this morning – what are your thoughts on same?

Now here comes a switch from my normal prattle. But one I believe.

Standing on principal is an honorable and courageous thing to do when the result of such action affects only yourself or is concerning matters of great importance to the country such as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, etc., etc But this time it’s far more important than personal principals or beliefs.

Nothing less than the future of our country is at stake in this election. If standing up for your principals is worth more than seeing the USA reduced to third world status, that’s your right. I would think that one could bend just a little and do whatever can be done to oust Barry O.

When the danger of him is behind us and the damage he has done repaired, then principal can again take the lead. But writing in, voting for a third party or any other type of protest vote is just the same as giving BHO the green light. Intelligence has to tell you that a protest or “principled” vote does nothing but make you feel good if the result is a second term.

Nothing less than voting for the GOP candidate running has any chance of success. I know it and you know it. I voted for McCain last election not because I thought he would be a good president, but because I knew Obama was a liar and would seek to bring down our country. I knew it because he said he would. I knew it because I looked past his flamboyant rhetoric. I looked at his past record. It’s more important to preserve our republic than letting him have a second term because of a wasted vote.

Anything less than a vote to get him out of office is a wasted vote. There’s not a single Republican in the running that is anywhere near the danger that a second term for Obama is. No one here knows how any of the GOP candidates will do if elected. Say what you will but no one here can see the future. Certainly you can believe that another candidate will do as much damage as Obama. But you don’t know it. Do you see the hatred for the country in any of them that Obama has? Do you see any of them that you think will give billions to Brazil for deep water drilling and commit to buying the oil? Does that do anything green?

If you feel that one of the GOP candidates will continue on the same path as Obama is on, what makes the difference? Your personal principals won’t be worth anything if he stays in office or another like him except to you. And the country is more important than anyone’s personal principals. No one will do the damage that Obama has. No one but you will know how you vote if you choose to not discuss it.

So hang up the pride and do something meaningful. Do something for the country. It’s no less a sacrigice than fighting a war against a nation that seeks to harm us is.

  2. sumitch January 20, 2012 at 5:35 pm #

I’m leaning towards Newt. He’s the only one with the intelligence and the speaking ability that can stand up to Obama. And he knows how it works behind the curtains in DC. I know he’s been married again and again, but that doesn’t seem to be a reason not to vote for him to me. I can introduce you to two women that will tell you I’m the biggest SOB in Texas. That doesn’t make it so. That just makes them angry exes. 50% of the people that have been married in this country have been divorced, so he’s not the lone ranger. Now one of his ex wives is going to be “interviewed” again and tell how he wanted an open marriage. It’s the same type of dirty trick that was pulled on Cain. Next week we’ll learn that he beats puppies.
I thought at first that the House hating Newt was a good thing, but with the House we have, I’m not so sure that what they dislike isn’t good for the country. And we did have a balanced budget and money in the bank when he left office (or was thrown out, your choice). Right now I don’t see any Republican in the race that I wouldn’t vote for against Obama. None of them are what I would want if I had my way, but almost, I say almost again to try and stop the nitpicking for the phrase. Obama is something I’ve never hated as much. Keeping Obama in office is tantamount to watching our country go down like the Titanic.

  3. JazzJo January 20, 2012 at 10:14 am #

Mychal – I love your rants!! But now you have me thinking too…..I also am not a Romney fan, but was resigned to vote for him if he got the nod, now after listening to you and others I have to think about a write-in as well. I’m just soooo afraid that BHO will win…

  4. Henry Yip January 17, 2012 at 6:34 pm #

I’m no Romney fan and what he did at BC was not illegal but a way of making money, in that he has no moral standards. But to announce that he created jobs because of it is BS. Boehner went golfing with the Baracus Obamus and so this just go to show us that we have no one looking out for us. I can’t vote here in PR for the Presidency but I’m hoping that Rick Santorum gets the nominee and wipes the floor in debates with Bo-whack. And as far as church’s excepting Homo’s as part of their congregation just brings them closer to DOOM!

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 8:55 pm #

henry yipp: as I stated I think what was done at bain was immoral pursuant to making money but it was not illegal…I liken it to those who prey upon people w/ bad or no credit and the debit cards…as for the church I think they have opened the door and invited evil to over throw them…

  5. Theresa January 16, 2012 at 6:02 pm #

I don’t like Romney either, but I guess I’ll vote for him ‘cuz he’s not Obama. Too bad it’s too late for Herman Cain to re-enter the race. Or is it?

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 3:36 pm #

theresa: I will under no circumstances support or vote for romney…that is like taking mussolini over hitler…

  6. Marilyn January 16, 2012 at 4:03 pm #

If Romney has a real plan to get this country’s economy going again and put this country back in order, I never heard it. Herman Cain did have a plan and it seemed quiet plausable. (Ron Paul has a good idea of how to limit spending and curtail the printing of fake money and that is to get rid of the Federal Reserve that promotes Big Government.) Had anyone listened, really listened to Herman Cain, they would have had to agree that he was right on all points about the economy.

Homosecuality is certainly not a ‘calling.’ And, I don’t for one minute think that homosexuality is in-born but actually learned habits and desires. Here is how I look at that issue. I’m picking on liberal homosexuals right now. The ignorant liberal lies either out of ignorance or to preserve self-dilusional beliefs; the apathetic leftist lies to excuse his life style; and the malicious progressive leader, hence Obama, lies to keep his power base apathetic and ignorant. This all goes hand in hand with homosexuality.

Obama’s demand to take over government and leave less decisions to Congress is simply that. Eventually, do away with Congress and Obama runs the Government by his standards/agenda and not The People who are supposed to be represented by Representatives and Senators. Down-sizing Government – my —. There are ulterior motives behind Obama’s demand and if Congress falls for this one, they are even more stupid than a bunch of turkeys. Obama says he will remove x number of government jobs but replace or consolidate with other federal agencies. How does that save money? Where is he getting that big number he spouts as savings/not spending. My idea of smaller federal government does not compare to Obama’s idea of smaller government! Also, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is for what? To protect the banks or to protect the ignorants who couldn’t pay a credit card or don’t have enough money to have checking accounts let alone a Debit card.

I’ve been thinking, too. I’m very concerned about the subtle Sustainable Development and Agenda 21. This act is going on in all parts of the country right now with “City/Village/Township Planning Commissions.” The intent is to eliminate private property rights; Enforce U.N. mandated low-energy, ecologically-approved housing – to replace OUR HOMES; Confiscate private farms and farmland; Snatch away other private landholdings; and, Ban individual ownership of internal combustion vehicles… I’ve already been asked to place my protperty in the hands of a ___Conservatory, upon my demise, so that my acreage can never be developed and never passed to my heirs for there use. There is much more that is going on with this Agenda 21 and I think it all boils down to One World Power.

Sorry, Mychal. I know I’ve gone off course here. Sometimes I sits and thninks and sometimes I just sits.

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 4:06 pm #

      marilyn: you make good points…

  7. Gary Thomsen January 16, 2012 at 3:02 pm #

Whether Romney is electable or not is irrelevant. All the candidates with the exception of Ron Paul are big government socialists. What I can’t decide is: Do we want a president who takes us slowly down the path to ruin so we don’t realize what is going on and we don’t get alarmed (Romney, Gingrich, Clinton, both Bushes, et al) or is it better to have a blatant muslim communist who puts us on the fast track to destruction, which we can see and understand and get alarmed about? In the long run which path will get enough Americans aroused enough to consider voting everybody out of office? Our only hope is a return to constitutional government. Lower every elected officials salary and benefits, limit all to one term unless they can be re-elected by over 75% of the votes. Stop voter fraud (ie, put Chicago under such close supervision that elections are honest). Return children’s education to the control of the local community, teach them true American History, patriotism and return prayer to school. Tighten restrictions on voting. You can’t vote if you are on the dole. In order to vote, you must pass a test to make sure you understand the issues, and have all the candidates histories posted at the polls: not what they say they will do, but what they have done in the past.

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 4:10 pm #

gary thomsen: the one thing we can thank obama for is being so flagrantly bad and hostile that he awakened the wrath in the people…the republicans under both bush’s were leading us down the same path…they were just more clandestine…they hid it better…and anyone who thinks romeny won’t lead us straight the bottom of the pond by further exacerbating obama’s rule is not seeing clearly…

      • sumitch January 20, 2012 at 4:58 pm #

Well, apparently everyone is an egg sucking commie Muslim that is running from the Republican side of the fence. Good to see that the Democrats all walk around with nice shiny halos over their heads. Let’s not vote against anyone that runs against Obama unless Cain is resurrected. That’ll teach them who’s the boss.

      mrsjb: thk you my friend…

  9. Snoopsister January 16, 2012 at 12:06 pm #

Hey Mychal, my friend! Long time, but I always come here first when I’ve been able to get a few minutes of “me” time! All I can say is that I sometimes feel like all of my cries of outrage and consternation and feelings of unfairness are all for naught. An attempt to destroy a man’s political aspirations and personal life should be seen in the same light of an attempted rape/murder – afterall, Mr. Cain’s reputation has been besmirched beyond full repair. Long after the race is over, people will remember WHY he dropped out over his brilliant ideas. The not-so-fickle supporters tried to persuade the rest of the American people to just take a look and judge for themselves, rather than to base their judgments about a man accused on the crafty media’s word, but, alas, it is the sad realization that most people just want the facts, ma’am, in a tweet or t.v. news blurb. Why don’t people WANT to reach out and explore truth? Don’t keel over when you hear this coming from MY lips (haha), but, hey, what IF HC was the biggest philanderer in the world? It would be best if people started digging around and finding the truth, rather than relying on others’ say so. It must be the inherent teenager in us all that is just willing to believe that “Susie is a whore” or “Bobby is an academic cheat” because it’s what *everybody* says or maybe it’s just plain more *fun* to believe the worst thing about someone. Hey, that way we’re able to divert the focus away from ourselves and absolve our sins on a sacrificial lamb.

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 4:29 pm #

      snoopsister: you addressed it well…

  10. SicknTiredofSocialism January 16, 2012 at 11:56 am #

Your thinking hits the nail on the head.

Herman Cain was an early victim of the Chicago gang headed up by Obama’s Communist-mentored campaign manager, David Axelrod. Obama played the race card big time in 2008 and that will no doubt be the game plan again in 2012. If Obama would have run against Herman Cain, he would not have been able to use racism as a political tool.

Black economist Thomas Sowell explained that Herman Cain is MORE black than Obama because Cain’s parents were both black, whereas Obama’s mother was white. Technically, Obama is a mulatto, which is defined as a person with mixed black and white ancestry.

Homosexuals being ordained as ministers is a very frightening trend. Yes, I believe your hypothetical point of lawsuits being filed against churches that refuse to participate is accurate. The federal government will step ever closer to controlling Christian religion and ultimately doing away with Christian churches.

After having served as a non-denominational Christian Church minister for seven years now, I have seen Christianity attacked from both within and without. Each of our non-denominational Christian churches is autonomous and self-supporting. Therefore we have no bureaucrats in state, national or international headquarters telling us who we should hire as ministers, where our money should go, etc.

The Bible makes it abundantly clear that God finds homosexuality to be an abomination — another word for disgusting. Thus, no homosexual is “born that way” as many of them claim. Instead, their perverted lifestyle is a choice.

I never thought I would see the day that a homosexual would be ordained as ministers. Homosexuals, ordained or not, are not servants of God. Instead, they serve the evil one while being disguised to some as being Christians.

But Scripture tells us that many people will one day stand before Jesus on Judgment Day, saying, “Didn’t I do this, that or the other as a Christian?” And Jesus will answer, “No. Get away from me.” None of those who remain unrepentant of the sin of homosexuality will spend eternity in heaven.

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 4:32 pm #

sickntiredofsocialism: I contend that karl rove had as much a hand in Herman Cain’s demise as leftists…if not more…homosexuality is a choice and a wrong one at that…

  11. Swamprat January 16, 2012 at 11:40 am #

Mychal – I am a 74 year old white woman from the south. I love your column – read it every day. Although I am not a Romney person I will support him if he gets the nomination. Friends in Texas detest Rick Perry. While I don’t detest him I fear he’s a wee bit dumb. To my dismay my favorite, Herman Cain, dropped out. He didn’t fight hard enough against the mob. I am asking you please support the nominee of the Republican Party. Fight hard for whoever he or she may be. PLEASE do not back down. We need your help. Another 4 years of the Obama regime will destroy our country. We must hang together or we will hang alone.

    • Lou January 16, 2012 at 5:40 pm #

Amen Swamprat. I’m a 71 year old white man for the south and I too love Mychal’s rant. BUT, I find it hard to believe that someone as smart as he doesn’t get that NOT supporting Obama’s major opponent is essentially a vote FOR Obama and helping to put the final nail in our freedom’s cofin. It’s not just about who you want in office, it’s the least-worst person who has a change of being elected and that SURE isn’t Obama.

      • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 3:44 pm #

lou: what you don’t understand that is by supporting a new england leftist masquerading as a moderate does nothing but allow party hierarchy to destroy true conservatives…palin, cain, angle, and others were destroyed by party hierarchy and their media marionettes…as long as people subscribe to fear and the lies of electability we will continue to have feckless representation…the argument you advance is tantamount to who taking mussolini over hitler…and the color of your skin doesn’t mean a hill of beans to me…this is a politically incorrect blog…no need to qualify remarks…

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 4:43 pm #

swamprat: first of all my friend…this is a politically incorrect blog…I don’t give a wit what color you are…there is no need to qualify your comments by sharing color…I will not bend to fear and a manipulated process ensuring a romney win which will result in an obama victory anyway…we cannot win nor have true change by allowing the party hierarchy to manipulate and scare us w/ their guy is worst than ours…essayist Steve McCann nails it well: http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/01/mitt_romney_the_last_republican_president.html …we cannot be motivated to hang ourselves by fear and manipulation…

  12. Capt. Ron January 16, 2012 at 10:14 am #

Mychal, I to do not feel a desire to support Romney. He’s just another phoney well polished politician that will do absolutely nothing for the betterment of the American People. He is what I consider a do nothing politician unless it lines his pockets with more cash. I to voted for Perot which was like voting for the Democrat. I won’t do that this election as Obama has to go and we all need to pull together to send this useless human down the road before he destroys our country any more than he has already done. I find it interesting that the rotten liberal media has successfully destroyed any chance of a true American ever challenging the worthless president we presently have in office. First they took out a true American who scared the living crap out of both parties, Sarah, and then they took out Herman, another true American. It just shows you that it’s politics as usual. We need meaningful government for the people and not for the politicians. We just sat around and allowed them to become too powerful and now it is very ugly and nearly impossible to rid ourselves of these parasites. Capt. Ron

    • Lou January 16, 2012 at 5:44 pm #

Right on Capt. Ron. The Perot-effect is EXACTLY what will happen if Ron Paul (who might actually make a good president) decides to run as an independent. That will clinch Obama’s perp-walk of America to ruin.

      • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 3:38 pm #

lou: ron paul is nutty as a fruitcake…but he wil not be the one who is responsible for obama retaining ofc…

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 4:48 pm #

capt ron: we cannot have meaningful substantial change by allowing our vote to be manipulated by electability…I will not support or vote for romney…the repub party hierarchy and their marionettes understand full well that they can run any loser they want and people will support them as long they say the person can beat the democrat…

  13. Jim Holmes January 16, 2012 at 9:39 am #

From the git go, I have made it known that I will not vote for Romney. Unfortunately, the GoP option for my vote this year (one vote, I’m conservative) has slim pickings and I see none of the current candidates as a viable choice. This year though I will exercise my constitutional right and not hold my nose and vote for ‘the best choice to defeat’ candidate. Sometime before November I will select a candidate to vote for. He/She may not be GoP and certainly will not be Democrat but I will vote for the person I feel is best to lead America at this time.

While I expect to receive a ton of flak from those who will say that I wasted my vote, I say Bull Hockey. I exercised my Constitutional Right. It is the Republican Party that has let America down by not listening to the voice of America. If Obama wins re-election, hopefully the Republicans or a new Conservative party will take notice. I (America) is fed up with the status quo and will fight for right and America, not for politicians.

    Sic Semper Tyrannis

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 4:54 pm #

jim holmes: you and I are in complete agreement…to suggest that we are somehow being derelict by voting for the person we believe best able to lead and not blindly going along w/ the party liberal shows how far we have fallen as a people…my vote is mine and it is not wasted unless I waste it voting for someone I oppose on every level…and that would most certainly be romney…and I would write in daffy duck’s name before I ever voted for a democrat…

  14. Raymond January 16, 2012 at 9:36 am #

In a Romney/Obama general election, get ready for another four years of Obama. You’ve heard lots of people saying their dog could beat Obama? Well, Romney’s one dog that can’t. He won’t survive public opinion past the first debate.

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 4:55 pm #

raymond: you are dead on…here is article by Steve McCann that makes the point… http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/01/mitt_romney_the_last_republican_president.html

      • Snoopsister January 19, 2012 at 7:54 pm #

Great article!! Again, as in the last election, it comes down to the lesser of two evils. I just don’t get it: There are plenty of capable Americans who would love to, and be able to, get this country back on track – What is with the slim pickin’s for POTUS candidates?! I will probably beat this horse to death, but where are the Herman Cains of this country who will stand up, fight and take out people like Mitt Romney? It’s pretty sad when it’s a huge relief as each incompetent drops off, but as they do, there’s still a panel, albeit smaller, of equally incompetent choices to pick from. I am just disgusted at this race!!!

        • Mychal January 19, 2012 at 8:48 pm #

snoopsister: a lot of capable leaders don’t want to go through the the attacks and personal destruction that has come to be associated w/ the office…republicans are quick to say we shouldn’t attack fellow repubs…what they really mean is don’t you attack our anointed…and they will secretly lead the attacks against those who dare one against their anointed…

  15. Josie January 16, 2012 at 9:33 am #

I was on the Cain train and my closet pal was chair for Herman. We felt he did the wrong thing in backing down….
We are not Romney fans either….BUT, what else out there is worth getting excited about. I want to say….Rick Perry, what happened????

Sitting tight and will work like crazy for the Repub. candidate!!! Dear God..we need to take back our country, whatever the means. The Iranians will have the best laugh if RP gets nominated. I just pray a lot!

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 4:58 pm #

josie: I will support Santorum…nominating romney is just more of the same…we cannot cry God help us and keep electing the same miserable losers…

Mychal said “It’s no secret that I’m not a Romney fan and that I will not support him.”

I’m no fan of Romney either, but what other choice will I have?!?!
There doesn’t seem to be another choice capable of beating Romney or Obama waiting in the wings at present and the clock is ticking!?!?! I believe any vote other than for Romney (while holding my nose) in the present lineup would be essentially a vote for Obama?!!?! I would love to be wrong, and if I am: Please enlighten me. I made the mistake of voting for an Independent in Perot once, and I won’t do that again! God bless and be safe!

    • Mychal January 17, 2012 at 8:24 pm #

12thgenerationamerican: I will not support romney…he is feckless and shallow w/ no moral compass…first of all there is no way on earth he is going to beat obama…not going to happen…my position is that the process has been and is being manipulated to give the nomination to the person it was decided it would go to long before now…the only way to correct the problem of holding our nose to vote for one loser of another loser is to stop playing the game…voting one’s conscience is not wasting a vote…my conscience commands me to vote for the person best able to lead…not the falsely claimed best able to win…this isn’t a casino…I’m not betting to win…I’m backing a person capable of leading…4 more yrs of obama doesn’t frighten me because ultimately there is still One greater than him…perot went off the reservation…that said he was an egotist not a leader…his v/p choice and then the alleged threats to his daughter etc were signs of his instability…not unlike ron paul…I will work to get solid local and congressional people elected…and to oust as much of the trash that is in office now as possible…but no way will romney get my support…

      • sumitch January 20, 2012 at 11:17 pm #

Mychal, unfortunately I agree with you 95%. I don’t think there’s a chance that Romney can beat Obama. He just doesn’t have the gift of gab or the hispanic/black vote to kick him off. But if you’re not going to support the GOP candidate (that I think is going to be Romney, but I wish it would be Newt) for the office, who out there has a better chance than any of them?

  17. Eugene Kipp January 14, 2012 at 9:08 am #

Talk about conspiracy theories. You’ve laid the groundwork for several here.
How about adding one more to the stack.
A recent Head Line News piece about a missing teacher in Montana could go viral and lay the foundation for more gov’t intrusions into our freedom. How about requiring “papers” to prove you are who you are and your permissions to be where you are.
Just a thought remembering Hitler’s Germany.

What will Boehner and Republicans do when obama snookers them again with respect to another debt ceiling increase? I don’t know.

I DO know that we played with spitballs, pea-shooters, and slingshots when I was a kid, and whoever was captain of our team on a particular day ALWAYS had a better strategy in mind than that of Boehner and his party.

It apparently is asking too much for them to get out in front of this issue, so it’s a good assumption they’ll sit in the barrel in the middle of the arena and play the role of rodeo clowns all over again.

Because they would do the same thing if they were President. They have to keep up appearances. They will raise the debt ceiling while complaining so that it looks like they are so helpless with a democrat Senate and White House and MSM.

Good one dan. And as soon as one of them comes up with a semi intellignet sounding idea, dozens more will come piling out of the little car to join him or to hit him with bang sticks.

There’s more of this theme at the top of this discussion because I didn’t tag it to a “reply” I intended this to be far more as you will see if you go to the top.
