I’m following my mother’s example

This weekend was a rough one for me. Of course there was (and continues) my outrage at what was done to Herman Cain. Then Saturday evening around 11:30 PM the care facility my mother is at, called to tell me she was being taken to hospital with respiratory problems. They called back moments later to say she had stopped breathing as she was being placed into the ambulance, but that the paramedics were able to use a piece of equipment to force air into her lungs and that she was breathing okay when she left. About an hour later the hospital called indicating they had stabilized mom and were going to be moving her to their other hospital campus that had the medical intensive care unit suitable for her. Later and after two more calls from doctors and mom’s care facility, I received the call that mattered – mom was stabilized and resting peacefully.

Yesterday afternoon she was resting peacefully and they hoped to remove the breathing tube that had been inserted, either Monday or Tuesday, but definitely in less than the six or seven days typically anticipated. Obviously, that was good news. Of course there was the obligatory conversation with one doctor who immediately sought to advise me that my mother was 92 years old, suffering from dementia, that she was bipolar-schizophrenic, and was no longer ambulatory — ergo she would feel better if I just let her die. Suffice it to say that that conversation was brief in duration. I will at some point in the future be doing a rant on the numerous battles I’ve had with doctors, who thanks to Obamacare, have tried to convince me mom’s life wasn’t worth saving because she was of no use any longer. But that’s a topic for another day.

What I want to address is the fight in my mother. She has struggled her entire life, both to raise me and to support herself. In February of this year I almost lost her, but she continues with me today. It was the thoughts of her fighting against the odds and in the face of the brilliant, learned doctors (sarcasm intended) who thanks to Obamacare, knew exactly when it was best to pronounce a person no longer useful and therefore needful of being put to sleep as you would a dog or cat, that inspired my thinking.

Obamacare is robbing people of their parents, relatives, and friends, under the guise of care – when in reality it is for the expedience of dollars saved. It’s the similar with the sabotaging of Herman Cain’s presidential candidacy. Overlook for a moment whether he is guilty or innocent of that which he is accused. Ask yourself, if any of the accusations are as bad as the factual and documented acts committed by Bill Clinton? Is what Herman has been accused of as bad as what we know and have witnessed of Obama – those things he has spent millions of dollars to keep hidden not withstanding? Is what Herman has been accused of as bad as Michelle Obama calling white people names and railing against America as a racist nation, that can only be corrected by her husband and those like him (who just happen to be communists – Maoists to be exact – see Barack Obama and the Enemies Within by Trevor Loudon)? The answer is of course not, even if the accusations were true.

Ask yourself why a man like George Soros, who boasts of bringing down the economies of countries through the manipulation of their currencies, is regarded with such esteem in the media? Why does Soros receive media blessing and Herman is condemned?

The answers to these questions I have pointed out many times, is because any candidate who is truly of the people and who truly is not part of the “Inside the Beltway” mobocratic oligarchy is viewed as a threat to be completely destroyed.

What has been done to Herman is not new, it is the way the institutional mobocracy works, and Obama is part and parcel of that. There truly is a network that exists out of sight and resistant to change and I am increasingly persuaded it is the same group that is responsible for the election of one of the most rabid haters of America and our Constitution in the history of our Republic.

Barry Goldwater was a true conservative, who was maligned and smeared as a racist, and who was accused of planning to overthrow the government in conjunction with the John Birch Society. It was a damnable lie. Goldwater was however, a threat to Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society plans. Johnson’s Great Society was to build upon the Socialism of Roosevelt’s New Deal. And as the House Un-American Activities Committee was to later find, the booklet used to smear Goldwater and the accusations of racism were the work of a communist group based in Chicago.

Judge Robert Bork was a true Constitutionalist Conservative who was viscously maligned, because he dared believe in the Constitution and limited government. Which meant he also believed in State’s rights which means he believed in the will of the people. Ronald Reagan was maligned and smeared, because he was a true conservative and opposed to the rule and intrusion of government as was advocated by those aligned and committed to the turning of America into a hybrid of communism. Justice Clarence Thomas was similarly set upon, as was Sarah Palin, and now inevitably Herman Cain.

It may be hard to believe, but don’t take my word for it, do your own study. Look at those who have been most savagely set upon and see what they have in common. Trace where the attacks come from. Research Obama’s background and connections – see how all of this supports Nikita Khrushchev’s infamous promise to bury us without firing a shot. The adulation and affection Roosevelt showed Stalin, bordered on worship and his New Deal was nothing short of socialism. Fast forwarding through history we see that anyone who posed a serious and real threat to that structure was branded and crushed, with the exceptions of Ronald Reagan and Justice Thomas.

You’re probably wondering what all of this has to do with my mother. It’s like this – if at 92 years of age, my mother refuses to lay down and die for the expedience of a murderous, unfeeling, and uncaring system – I submit I/we cannot either. We must identify the enemies of our Republic and defy them. We must refuse to allow them to make our decisions for us, because the moment we do, we give them power of life and death over us and that is a power not provided for in the Constitution nor by the God of nature. If my 92 year old mother can fight, can I with good health and lucidity do less? Herman may be out of the race – but that doesn’t pave the wave for me to support them or who they tell me I should.

Oh, Mychal, I’ve got so many things I’d like to say, but because I’ve just got a few minutes before having to get back to work, I will use my time to talk about what is most important here – your Mom. I’m so sorry to hear that she is ailing and, as if that isn’t emotionally hard enough on her, you and your family, you’re dealing with medical drones who work just hard enough to process what is just another chart to them. There is no doubt that she is a marvelous woman to have raised a son who so clearly cherishes her and so profoundly honors her. I pray for her comfort and for yours – May God hold your family in His loving embrace during this difficult time.

I am wondering why the liberals are so wanting Mitt Romney to run against Obama. Since Mitt is not a staunch conservative and has shown some liberal tendencies with Health Care and abortion, could they be hoping he will run because he fundamentally believes more toward the left? I think I would be for the conservatives that the liberals vilify and falsely accuse as they are the ones that could beat the liberal machine imo, Mamajo

I agree Mychal! I saw a few segments of the debate last night and boy was I completely turned off by the tone and really many of the individuals. I was thinking that it wasn’t like that when Mr. Cain was in the race. Although it wasn’t noticed he really brought a level of sophistication and respectfulness to the debate, which I didn’t really notice because I wanted him to point out the solutions that the other candidates brought to the table, which none of them can do themselves. But, listening to Rush say that candidates should point out what they stand for and not highlight what other candidates stand for is a winning strategy. I believe that is exactly what Herman Cain did and they had to bring him down by attacking his character and integrity and not based on his solutions to solve the country’s problems.

I felt sorry for Donald Trump this week specifically because Michelle Bachmann turned him down for the debate after all he done for her like participating in a town hall she sponsored and she said she even considered him for VP! I really don’t see the fascination or attraction for Michelle Bachmann. She has no support in congress and she is one of those candidates who is quick to point out the flaws of other candidates, but have no ability to articulate her own solutions.

I heard someone say that some candidates should drop out, but many are staying in the race to see what happens in the primaries. So that got me to thinking. How many people become President just because they are the last man standing? Now that is tragic indeed, because the last man standing may not be the best President.

elizabeth lovett: I agree per bachmann…the eagerness w/ which she jumped on the mistakes and/or misfortunes of other candidates…I do not consider her presidential material…she doesn’t show the strength…

Blessings to your beloved mother. Blessings to you for your continued support of the people of America. I’ve had cancer 5 times between 34 and 55. Chemo and radiation were not my path. God created many natural healing plants to help us overcome disease. God was the most powerful medicine I had, the power of prayer one of His most powerful gifts given to man. The government is once again trying to remove our access to vitamins and natural supplements. $100 dr. visits and a prescription for vitamin c or e etc. is not what America should have forced on us. Keep up you devoted work helping keep us informed, and prayers for the dear woman who brought you into this time and place.

  4. Sandy December 6, 2011 at 6:39 pm #

Right on! Health & Human Services (health & human? I don’t know about that), is pushing for a new regulation that requires all insurance companies to hand over the private medical records of everyone they insure. Some members of Congress have reported they already hired a contractor to build this database of personal records and claims from insurance companies. They are also developing a list of 50 to 100 serious medical conditions that will be used to identify “high cost individuals.” Perhaps, you could call it a “Euthanasia List.” Rep. Tim Huelskamp of KS is rallying pro-life congressmen against these threats to medical privacy and care for the sick and elderly. I hope he’s successful.

Sorry to hear about your mother. I’m glad she’s stable. Thank goodness she has you to look after her and voice her worth (which shouldn’t be necessary).
Very good article! I fear in a couple short decades, I’ll be told I no longer have worth because my “usefulness” is up, too. Obamacare has taken our Judeo-Christian ideal that every individual has worth and turned it on its head. Under the radical vision, the collective has worth, and the individual only has worth if one of the elite. That vision goes against everything I believe in as an American and a Christian.
    Keep speaking out!

  8. Fred Gabster December 6, 2011 at 3:52 pm #

Wake up, Mychal! Obama and Obamacare aren’t trying to kill your Mother, the corporatization of medical care and the primacy of the medical insurance companies who sociopathically conspire with them is where the fault lies. The majority of Obamacare provisions don’t take effect until 2014 and I implore you to recognize that what you’re describing isn’t anything new; it’s been status quo for decades.

With regard to Herman Cain, it would be impossible for me to care less about how many white blonds he’s groped. When I watch a man say that he and the Koch brothers are brothers by another mother, I see a corporatist, globalist enemy of the people, an ignorant endorser of the Federal Reserve and another sold out egotist like Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.

It pleasantly amazes me how many African-Americans are becoming wise to the fact that this upcoming election comes down to Ron Paul vs. the New World Order. Obama, Gingrich, Romney, formerly Cain, and Perry are completely sold out to Bilderberg and the NWO. Bill and Hillary Clinton are among the worst. Bill’s a triple threat as a member of Bilderberg, the Council on Foreign Relations AND the Trilateral Commission. All these people are TRAITORS who support the destruction of the sovereignty of the United States. People like Bachman and Santorum are unintelligent narcissists, although I think Huntsman’s fluency in Chinese and seemingly untainted background may qualify him for Secretary of State along with Andrew Napolitano as Attorney General and whoever President Paul designates Secretary of the Treasury after the abolition of the Federal Reserve and the restoration of the gold standard. Central banking is the linchpin of the NWO’s destruction of the world’s economies and I’d like to think the abolition of the Fed could act as the first domino in the destruction of central banking worldwide, including the IMF and the World Bank.

Keep waging the good fight, forget about Herman and take good care of your Mom.

I got a call on Labor Day 2007 from my dad’s physician. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given 30 days to live, and the advice of the doctor was for me to call my sisters and brother and get his affairs in order ASAP. Then, the doctor went in to tell my dad of his diagnosis. My dad went by the name of Butch. They told him he had 30 days to live.

Butch told the doctor, “I don’t think so.”

He lived a very vibrant life for the next three years before the disease finally took him in August of 2010, and I, like you, Mychal, take strength from his incredible will and determination to survive. I also began to see the effects of who will be deemed worthy of certain procedures. The family was always given options, but the unmistakeable wink and nod from the doctors was always…………….we could, but, the old guy is on his way out anyway and …………..

It was disgusting. This once large brute of a man, a very manly-man, had now shrunk to the size of a boy and they, quite frankly, couldn’t wait for him to die to basically get him off their schedule. Were it not for his nurses’ unwavering care, there might have been some doctors in need of medical attention, too.

As for Mr. Cain? Too soon to do this man’s autopsy. I feel in my soul he will have the last laugh because “they” picked the wrong guy to victimize this time around.

Having gone through this experience with my mother in 2004, Age 93, it is truly trying times for her children. When I was brought into the world her and dad lived in Ocean Park, CA two blocks from the beach. That was before World War II started. Dad was an aviation mechanic building Douglas aircraft for the war effort. Mom was a hair dresser and served clients like Shirley Temple and Jane Fonda.
After the war, layoffs were massive to make way for returning veterans. From the lap of luxury we moved to an outpost in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range. Living from pay check to pay check where Dad earned $0.50 per hour they toiled and subsidized the family with a large garden, canning, pigs & chickens.
Fortuneatly, we all survived and went on to lead our own lives with our mother as an example of leadership. Thank God, she didn’t have to live to see Obamacare or be subjected to his death squads. Thanks to George Soros she was afforded the opportunity to participate in the Soros euthenasia plan (Oregon’s Death with Dignity) where she could prematurely take her life. She chose to wait until Jesus summoned her to heaven where she is at peace today.
You don’t have to be a man of any color to get off your ass and make good of your life and those who surround you. Poverty is an excuse not a purpose.

Continued prayers for your mother’s recovery-God is the author & giver of life & He decides when to call her home. That’s a principle I stand behind 100% as I care for my 86-yr old mother(who still lives @ home w/ me & my sister). Let’s be real honest here-Susan Sarandon was looking in the wrong direction: George Soros is the real Nazi-who sold out his fellow Jews for execution. To paraphrase the Bible-light makes for a good disinfectant: how about the story the media chose to ignore about Soros attempting to murder an ex-girlfriend after a night of passion. Let’s shine the harsh glare of truth where it’ll do the most good. Regarding his business practices, I say regulate the hedge funds: he’s got way too much monkey business going on w/ his funny money. It’s time to rein in these high-risk fund managers who are disrupting the economy! Thanks as always for such an insightful article, Mychal. Keep on keeping on-fight the good fight!!

    Herman,
I understand the delema you face with your mother. I myself had to make the hard decisions regarding my mother’s care. Fortunately for me, she had left me with a written order for herself and her care. If the doctors and medical establishment could not bring her back to a quality of life she had before being placed in the hospital, she did not want to be put on life support or feeding tube unless it was for a valid purpose other than bleeding us of her estate. I made the call and she passed away on Sept 3, 2003. I miss her terribly but it is the way she wanted it.

Mychal – I would say you forgot one person – Jesus Christ! He was hunted down (at his birth), spit upon, smeared, flogged and murdered all at the hands of those who did not want His message to be heard. Only at His death did humans begin to understand who they had just lost. How tragic a society we have become when we begin to lose the understanding of the sanctity of life. My grandmother had a stroke at the age of 90. She had to have surgery on her brain to stop bleeding and immediately family began to wonder what her life would be like once she recovered – if she recovered! We prayed to God for His Will – not a doctor, but, the Great Physician! Those of us closest to her knew that if God wanted her home with Him He would take her. Today, at age 95, she is still with us, strong as a tack and would love to move to D.C. to straighten things out! How dare we play God with an unborn fetus or an elderly citizen of our society. How much of a blessing has this country missed out on because a group of stupid humans thinks they know best???

Mychal, your mother’s condition is serious but she seems like a “fighter,” like you. Over the months, I’ve learned that your mother is one lady I would like to know. She has raised a wonderful son and has many words of wisdom. The Lord will decide when it is her time to “go home.” My prayers are lifted.

On the less serious side but yet very meaningful to Obama’s way of thinking…I received an email this morning that had a lighter side, yet a truism: “To help save the economy the Government will announce next month that the Immigration Department will start deporting seniors, instead of illegals, in order to lower Social Security and Medicare costs. Older people are easier to catch and will not remember how to get back home….” end of quote.

This made me smile but it had a lot of grit about our current ObamaCare. Going after the ‘easy’ is much more convenient for Obama than facing the reality of America’s real health care problems. ObamaCare has had a lot of input from idiotic politicians who want to make names for themselves. And, as a leader of our great Country, Obama approved such nonsense!- If he even bothered to read the entire thousands of pages of ObamaCare.
As Pelosi said, “Let’s pass the bill and read it later!” How stupid is such a remark!? There are many segments, if not all, of ObamaCare that need to be trashed. All Americans, no matter Democrat or Republican, are threatened by ObamaCare. There are the exceptions such as politicians who opted out of Obamacare! Most of the people who have lived “on the system” for most of their lives think they are getting something for nothing, again. To those people, I feel total disgust. Their ignorance is unacceptable.

Please accept my sincere regret that your mom is in ailing health. We do love and keep our older generations for as long as possible.

I don’t think that anyone who will honestly reform our government & lead this once great nation back towards constitutional law will ever be elected. This Herman Cain thing proves it. I will not vote for Gingrich or Romney. Despite what they say, we will still continue on the same path to destruction albeit on a slower path (hopefully) than with Obama.
Did you notice that the examples you used of people who survived the onslaught were from several decades ago? I intend to vote for Ron Paul now but after the 2012 elections, I’m going Galt! Good luck in your continued battle & may God continue to bless you.

    • Lotow December 6, 2011 at 11:29 am #

      ssolum,
If you don’t vote, then “they” truly win. That’s exactly what the Democrats are hoping for – they are hoping that they can create such doubt about all of the GOP candidates abilities, personal choices, etc. that “the folks” just won’t get out and vote and Obama will win – again (by default in lack of opposition.)
Hey, what you do is your business. But, if you don’t vote for someone, you are surrendering in complacency. You are allowing them to silence you or, you are allowing your petulance to rule you. I have felt that way several times when “my preferred candidate” did not win the nomination but, while they may not have been my choice when I voted – at the least it was a vote AGAINST the incumbent. I hope you will re-think not voting. It’s the only tiny modicum remaining for us to do “something” – then again, maybe not – perhaps it is all smoke and mirrors. I just know I can’t stay home on election day and do nothing. (Don’t mean to come off as being on a soapbox. This is just such a pivotal election for all of us. Please don’t disengage!)

  22. Bill Sr. December 6, 2011 at 8:29 am #

    Mychal,
In honor of your mother for both the good life she has lived and raising up the man you have become may I offer these words and prayer for our nation.

Our nations “faith and values”, so abundantly proclaimed in our founding documents and derived of our Judeo Christian heritage, gave birth to a kind of government the world had never known which in time became the shining city on a hill and a hope for all peoples with the grand Lady of Liberty holding a torch to guide them here.
The peace and prosperity which, at great price, the people of our land have embraced and offered to the world is unparalleled in human history. People from around the world come to our shores to partake of it. But as with all good times and human societies, some will desire with their power to take advantage of their freedoms and way of life to the detriment of others. Unfortunately our elected officials are not immune to this practice, often to the point of establishing policies and programs which buffet or corrode the very faith and values which formed our unique society.
Treason, disguised as justified social “progress” or awarding “rights” to special interest groups regardless of the consequences to the greater good and benefit of the people at large, with the help of elitist and media can be presented to and consumed by a public mindset dulled by periods of peace and prosperity without personal sacrifice.
Today the nation’s conscience is being challenged more than ever before. The issues have been emboldened by societies continued tolerance of evil practices fashioned often by well meaning authorities and appearing as needed social reforms or benefits to politically protected groups or persuasions without any clue as to the eventual consequences.
Many of our religious leaders are finally beginning to question the validity of such policies within political party platforms admonishing congregations to search their souls and scriptures for guidance before going to the polls or joining political action groups.
This is good advice to those devout souls with religious affiliations or those who at least understand that God has indeed blessed America and that as a people we are the most generous in the world.

Prayer and reflection on the scriptures are powerful responses to problems both seen and unseen because within these pages is written humanity’s ultimate and everlasting destiny. However, going to the bible to find the words needed to answer the questions of today is one thing, ignoring or questioning the validity of what we find there is quite another. We must trust in it even when social “engineers” or politicians scoff at our clinging to it.
Today pray that our lives will forever be bound in faith to the word of God for truly it is the Eternal Living Word which has come down from heaven in Christ and his church and its truth can not be overturned by politicians no matter what office they hold among us. Cling to the Church and the Holy gospels it teaches for though “heaven and earth may pass away” the word of God will forever remain and sustain you.

My prayers are with you and your family. As a nurse I know the slippery slope that is being started down with ObamaCare. When we decide someone has lived long enough and is no longer an asset to the society we are headed for a total moral collapse of our society. After ‘allowing’ elderly people like your mother to die, how long would it be before decisions were made to kill fetuses with birth defects in the womb and to terminate the lives of those who were seen as a drain on society, such as people with Downs Syndrome. Once this slide is started it will be difficult if not impossible to start. Americans have always cherished life and hopefully in the near future we will see that. If not, I fear for our country.

My father is now 94 he was 87 when I brought him to Kaiser with a dissolved kidney and the other in the process of disolving because of enlarged prostate closing off the ureatha. Kaiser did not catch it to begin with and his loss of kidneys were a direct result of poor quality doctoring. Bottom line they have brought up uthenasia several times on hospital intervals. I explain our job is to get him care. The doctors job is to render it, and the rest is between God and my dad.
One day I point blank asked dad in front of the doctor: “Is today a good day to die?” He said: “No!” The doctor recoiled and dad and I winked to each other. No one ever asks again. He is on dialysis and doing great. If we choose to act as God and pull the tube then where is our belief in God and the hope of a miracle. When He calls them home that is a miracle too!
Obamacare-look to the pink swastika and read and understand what is coming. He used abortion,he got rid of the old infirmed and mentally ill, enimies of his state by using the unions and then the unions were murdered. This man is run by Geo Soros a Jew hunter who wants to break the US AND BRITAIN for conquering Germany.
