Anyone with the money and inclination can get a Pontiac Fiero chassis from a salvage yard, order a Lamborghini kit, put it together, and for less than $10,000 have themselves a replica of the Lamborghini of their choice. A replica that would fool the eyes of those unfamiliar with real Lamborghinis.
But it goes without saying that driving a car that almost looks like the real thing doesn’t make it the real, nearly $400,000 supercar, any more than making a rifle look like an assault rifle makes it an assault rifle.
I’ve lost my patience with the liars in the media, anti-Second Amendment politicians, anti-gun groups, and the foolish people who believe them when they say that we must get assault weapons off the streets. I feel like grabbing them by their collective shirt collar and slapping the truth into them.
Let me once again make it as clear as I possibly can; assault weapons are fully-automatic weapons such as the ones used in the military and by Mexican drug cartels. So, unless you are stealing them from the military or you were provided a few courtesy of Eric Holder and Fast and Furious, the assault weapons we hear these maddening people blathering about do not exist in the context they argue.
The assignation “assault weapons” used today was the result of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 in which lubricious politicians surreptitiously expanded the true definition of assault weapons to include semi-automatic firearms. It was political sleight of hand that was designed to limit our ability to enjoy semi-automatics. The Bill included a prohibition on the manufacture of certain semi-automatics for use by private citizens.
The other thing that cannot be stated enough is that just as prohibition did nothing to stop alcohol consumption, but, in fact, not only increased the per capita consumption of alcohol but also ushered in bootlegging and gangland crime and unleashed epic levels of prostitution and political graft. It directly contributed to untold numbers of deaths directly attributable to bad alcohol. The unintended consequences of crime, violence, murderous mayhem and political corruption resulted in the repeal of Prohibition.
Firearms haters and the anti-gun agenda driven do not care about the truth; they care about achieving their diabolical agendas. No one wants to see innocent people harmed, but just as prohibition didn’t stop alcohol abuse, just as the only thing anti-smoking measures has done is increase unemployment and create epic shortfalls of tax dollars municipalities need to survive on — the only thing anti-firearms legislation will accomplish is rain down the worst possible nightmare, i.e., armed criminals unleashed on a public unable to defend themselves.
But people do not think about that. Rather they sit in front of their television sets, open-mouthed and brain dead, allowing themselves to be inculcated with lies and rancor.
The same people telling us we shouldn’t drive SUVs, eat at Burger King, drink 64-ounce cups of Coke, and own the legal guns of our choice, are the same ones who advocate abortion on demand and legalization of drugs. For them it is about what they approve of, and they will use any subterfuge to accomplish same.
And that includes the left-handed attempts to limit our access to legal firearms by limiting mag capacity. Placing limits on mags is a two-pronged attempt to undermine the Second Amendment. On the one hand, setting mag-cap limits can be presented as a reasonable argument most often starting with “why do you need a 15, 30, etc. cap-mag for hunting?” or whatever — you fill in the blank.
The ignorance of that mentality is the idea that limiting mag-caps will limit crime. They either ignorantly or intentionally overlook the fact that the most prolific outlaws of the old west carried three, four, and many times more handguns on their person. Single-shot and two-shot derringers were also weapons of choice in those days. The idea of limiting mag-caps as a prophylactic against crime is a blatantly errant one.
The other approach being stealthily used is court precedents and/or political precedents. We jeopardize ourselves if we forget that it took decades for socialists to fully infiltrate our government, and it took decades for abortion and separation of church and state legislation to be passed, just as it did for homosexual marriage to become legal in certain states.
My point being, the best weapon we have against the subversion of the Second Amendment is to not compromise and to not give in even an inch. Because every time that has happened, it has cost free Americans more of their Inalienable Rights.

Sometimes, Mychal, I think I’m serving in the army. Everyday, when I rise from my bed, I wonder what battle will I, as an American citizen, have to fight because of the government we have. Holder and Obama answer for none of the things they have done. Their deeds are merely erased by a wave of Obama’s hand and with the other hand Obama erases our freedoms. The Congress shrivels in the presence of this man who has rendered them unable to act as they were elected to do and as the Constitution says they have the duty and right to do. There are a few brave voices in that body but not enough. By the way, does Obama use something other than a gun to shoot those skeet? Hmmm…..
Mychal, isn't it amazing how the liberal secularist is so diametrically opposed to the truth. There has to be a spirit of deception involved behind the scenes. Maybe it is the matter of being given over to a reprobate mind. Whatever the reasons are, it has always amazed me! Thanks for the great article!
Mychal, I was reading an article that said that immigrants are more likely to believe that prosperity comes from the government. African Americans, and poor whites, are more likely to believe that as well, depending on whom they've associated with. Think about this, for a second. Immigrants coming from repressed or poor countries, and many blacks, have lived through terrible oppression, bigotry, or "third world" treatment. I know alot of immigrants, and they know what it's like to be a very noticeable immigrant, especially Latino. White people look away constantly, and shun them, thinking they are stupid, because they can't speak English, even though many can. I know alot of Latinos who hate whites from the outset, until they meet one who befriends them, and then they change their minds. Blacks, especially from the south, have encountered constant prejudice. It is simply natural to reach out to the government for assistance, because the corporate world shuns them for the most part. Many whites, on the other hand, including me, went to Business School, and were readily invited into the corporate world. So, it is not a purposeful thinking that causes minorities to expect things from the government, it is the training they have received through societal indoctrination. I used to wonder why the former Soviet Union chose communism over freedom after the reign of the Czars. The answer is, anything was better than the terrible oppression of the Czars. Turns out this thinking was wrong, but they had nothing to compare to, since they were cut off from the outside world. Terrible shame. We are in big trouble, because now that Obama has, or could have, the Latino vote, they will vote for anyone Democrat, even if they are a potential tyrant. Conservative freedom may be a thing of the past, because alot of people have not had that wonderful experience in their lives, that of personal and financial freedom. Blacks have not had a perceived freedom from the 2nd amendment, or many other articles of the Constitution, so you can't blame them for seeing little value in it. Those blacks that see through this, like yourself, need to be enlightened that they lose an equivalent amount of personal and financial freedom with every bit of dependence on the Government.
I’m so with you on all of this! However, when you’ve got the likes of Colin Powell also spewing the garbage laid out by the Obutthead group, how can we ever capture the attention of African Americans! It is a crime that the majority continue to relish the goodies they receive from the Progressive Santa’s instead of taking the time to study our history to realize that it was and is the Conservatives who gave them their respect and honor and freedom! Guess goodies trumps respect, honor and all else nowadays. The Latinos seem to want to follow in the same footsteps! Sad that they don’t realize this won’t last forever! And doubly sad they do not listen a hell of a lot more to folks like Mychal than to the “wherever I get the best deal” Colin!!!!!!
Your words should make people think. Ms. Feinstein seems to think that all guns are full assault guns. duh. I believe that she and other congressmen/women were issued guns, the type that Obama does not want to fall into Ambiecan Citizen’s hands. I guess they can have those guns but not their American voters. We all know why removing guns from Americans is a big issue now. This was a prime time for Obama to jump on board with the latest tragedy in Sandy Hook. This gave him the “ammunition” he needed to complete his conspiracy to remove all guns from American Citizens. Fast and Furious didn’t pan out as he thought it would and UN arms control had lost its punch because enough letters and phone calls poured into Washington from Citizens who declared that the 2nd Amendment was to be protected and not ignored. The irony of all this is the American arms/weapons/airplanes… support that Obama gives to the Mid East. Our enemy can have weapons and F-16s but honest good gun owners need to have their guns removed? Something wrong with this picture.A note received from a Frenchman simply told me that Americans are in a terrible position right now and he equated our situation to Hitler’s regime. So, Americans are not the only people thinking that we are under tyrannical siege.
By law, all Americans who are of good character and have been trained in the safe use of firearms, should be as well armed as any potential enemy, be they from without or from within. We American citizens are the militia mentioned in the Constitution.
When we declared our Independence, it was only after generations of colonists, living here, productive, feeding the Empire, making it wealthy, providing for its expansion, but being denied the fundamental rights of all Englishmen, and five decades of requests, statements, demands, remonstrance's, all laughed at and ignored, with the suggestion "what can they do?" behind their open belligerence to our rights.
The crafting of the constitution was with extreme care, and with the knowledge of "unintended consequences" fully before every member of that congress.
We have two centuries of continuous expansion of underground gang-land "government" which rules all the ghettos of all our cities precisely because fools imposed law which could not be enforced except by tyranny.
The "war on drugs" began with President Washington's calling on congress to place an excise tax on liquor, for the purpose of paying off our war debt. The sole legal revenue for the federal government was excise taxes, specifically on imported goods.
The revenue taken in by this was no more responsibly used then, as today. It was spent on everything but our actual debt. It was an act of desperation to place the illegal excise tax on domestic products, however it was done to avoid the hardship for congress to have to limit its spending to honest revenue.
"The Whiskey rebellion" ensued, and there has been a strong, moneyed black market ever since, paying the cost of the criminal underclass government which vies for power with the criminal central government.
When the Pharisees confronted Jesus over his teaching in Temple, and asked which law was the most important, the wisdom he showed kept them from making a fool of him, yet fully supported the whole of the law. By stating one must simply "Love God with everything, and love one's neighbor as one's self", and proclaiming, if you do this, you will have fulfilled the whole of the law", he ignored their attempt to have an argument, knowing arguments over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, have taken place with no purpose.
If we follow the founding principles, as Sovereign Citizens, and if we hold government to its exacting limits, we needn't worry about any of those particulars, it is only because we have long exceeded "a limited government" that there is any desire on the part of citizens, to arm themselves as we have. It is only the declaration of government, denying our rights which cause us to cleave to them with ever hardening vigor and determination.
When government determines what fast food joints can fry, and what they can fry in, we don't have any semblance of "limited government", and only a pure fool could suggest that we do, or that what is current is rational and reasonable. How can we possibly trust a government which has no respect for our voice what so ever?

“This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!”
~Adolph Hitler, 1935,
on The Weapons Act of Nazi Germany
Henry, I ALMOST gave you a thumbs down on your post until I read the name of the source. For sure, we are headed down that dreadful path if we don’t stand our ground!
Sadly, Henry, Hitler never uttered the quote above.
You are correct Ray! I just spent about an hour on this research!
Effectively he did say that. Even in wikipedia :
the law restricted ownership of firearms to “…persons whose trustworthiness is not in question and who can show a need for a (gun) permit.”
Jews were forbidden from the manufacturing or dealing of firearms and ammunition.[4]
You are so right, Mychal! We have been separated from far too many of our inalienable rights for far too long! And now this rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth administration is all too transparent in their zeal to separate law abiding citizens from their Constitutional right to bear arms. Even more ironic, as you point out, is that this administration gave out the very ype of guns they want to ban with no way to trace them and no care do to that, either. In reality, they want to ban ALL guns, and this is just the first step at trying to get all of them.
Even more egregious is the total ignorance of guns and weapons on the part of those who are trying to get them out of our hands. Oh, and maybe even worse, is their refusal to give up their own guns and/or bodyguards with guns. Each day I think I cannot get sicker or more depressed about the state of our nation, but Obama being Obama, and all his cronies and minions always manage to do just that—make it much worse!
“A gun without bullets is like music without notes”.
Dear Mychal,
Thank you for a very succinct view of our rights. A rally is forming on Feb 23 for second amendment rights (223). Nice reference to the AR caliber. Please inform all of your followers to seek out and join one of these movements.
We rallied at the statehouse a couple of Saturdays ago and may use that venue again on 223.
Thank you and God bless.
When people give up their brains, there's nothing left for them to hold onto.
Excellent message and my thoughts exactly! Americans should realize and understand, and it is obvious that many do not, that the Second Amendment was designed to protect them from the power of the federal government. That was the thought in the minds of the founders when they were framing the constitution. It was not composed to simply protects our rights to hunt for food or target-shoot.
