One of my best friends forwarded me the email I’ve included below. I cannot adequately express the added contempt this summons in me toward Obama. My personal friends were at the Vietnam Memorial over the Memorial Day weekend and they, too, were denied access–because of Obama.
My friends who served in Vietnam, and many other veterans, traveled great distances to pay their respects to those they served with and their fellow countrymen who gave their lives. Many of those who were denied entrance to “The Wall” bear the living scars of their service in that horrific war. They gave the very best they had to keep Southeast Asia from becoming the very thing Obama is doing his best to turn America into–a Marxist-Leninist State.
I am outraged that a person whose wife is on record saying that she had no pride in America until her husband ran for president: The person whose wife, during a ceremony honoring victims of the 9/11 terrorism attacks, leaned forward and whispered to him “All of this for a damn flag” as he nodded in agreement with her. This is the person who not only refused to place his hand over his heart during The Pledge of Allegiance, but also refused to say “The Pledge.” This is the person who demands all religious symbols be covered or removed when he is speaking at Jesuit and Catholic Universities. This is the person who called his pastor, Jeremiah Wright, his mentor and closest advisor, second only to his wife–a pastor who said “g_d damn America.” And this is the person who, for the sake of his own aggrandizement, closed one of the most important Monuments in America pursuant to the Vietnam War, preventing thousands of veterans and Americans from honoring our fallen heroes.
This person who, along with his wife and “Comrades,” has shown nothing but contempt, disrespect, and disregard (except when it benefits him not to) for our military and those who have served, his entire life. This is the person who earlier this year proposed cuts to the health benefits of military families both active duty and retired while not touching the extravagant benefits of unionized civil workers.
With his long record of unambiguous hatred for our military, this is the person who closed the Vietnam Memorial from 7:30 AM until 2:00 PM, denying access to veterans and those who truly care about the names of those inscribed on that Memorial Wall. In the opinion of this essayist, this is one of the most egregious, selfish, self-indulgent acts yet committed by this human being. And he closed it so he could give a 15-minute speech which was nothing more than self-congratulatory agitprop.
Our Vietnam Veterans are the most unjustly maligned and disrespected of all veterans. They have been falsely accused, purposefully insulted, and spit upon simply because they served their country. And in the wake of that, this wretched human being has spit on them again. Following is the email thread my friend forwarded to me. I have sanitized the email addresses.

The president does it again. It is all about him. Why don’t we shut down the whole country just in case he drops by to strut around and ruffel his featers. What a bunch of crap. You can’t blame the folks for being pissed.
The Memorial is there for those who have survived, have lost loved ones or for those who wish to pay tribute and pay respects to those who have lost their lives to keep us free.
To keep people from paying their respects on one the days MADE for that just for campaign publicity shots is disgusting.
On May 28,
Today is Memorial Day and I went to the Vietnam Memorial and something happened there that upset me greatly and I want to pass it on.
For over 15 years I had been going with my dear Marine buddy, Larry Cullen. Since he passed away last year and was interned at Arlington Cemetery, I went this year accompanied by my grandson, Cameron. I had my list of Recon Marines, school classmates, and Larry’s fallen buddies to visit but, as we got close to the area of the National Mall where the Wall is located, we saw huge white tents. We also saw barricades all along Constitution Ave and for a couple blocks in each direction from the Wall. They even closed down all of Constitution Av from the Lincoln Memorial all the way to the WW-II Memorial and there was a virtual army of uniformed and plain-clothes security everywhere.
The biggest tent was right at the west end of the Wall entrance and there was a covered walkway leading right up to The Wall. It was so close, you couldn’t get to the Wall on that side so, my grandson and I went all the way around to the eastern entrance to the Wall and walked down along the Wall to the first of my names and I began telling my grandson about my buddies and how each one died. In short order, a guy in a dark suit and earpiece in his ear told us we had to leave as it was 0730 and they were closing Memorial until at least 1400 so the President could drop by. I asked if he was serious and he assured me he was. We and all the other veterans and families were forced to leave and it was locked down.
The Vietnam Memorial is the most visited site on the entire National Mall. Memorial Day has more visitors to the Vietnam Memorial than almost any other day. Even at the rather early hour Cameron and I were there, there were a lot of veterans and family members down there. In the midst of all that, Obama decides to close it for over seven hours just so he can roll by for 30 minutes in the afternoon for a campaign appearance with Democrats, supporters, and campaign donors? This is an incredulously arrogant, egotistical, and inconsiderate thing to do. What in hell was Obama thinking?
Hey President Obama: Since you ran me (and all the other veterans and family members) out of the Memorial before we finished our business there, how about doing me a favor. If you can take a short break from all the grippin’, grinnin’, posin’ and pontificatin’, how about taking a minute or two to stop by and say hello to my fellow Recon Marines and other classmates on the Wall. I suspect you’ll be too busy with photo ops, campaigning, and stroking donors to be troubled with a couple minutes doing what the Memorial was built for but, just in case, here’s a list so you can have your man find them and point them out to you. Hope you have a Meaningful Memorial Day.

Good grief !! I just read another great report. The DOD has discovered thousands of contiefiet parts made in China. They have been installed on military weapons like jets of all types and missiles. The parts did not come from China directly, but through third parties who failed to test them before shipping them to us. I can’t believe that the DOD is so stupid that they didn’t spec out no manufactured Chinese parts and didn’t have it’s own random testing procedures. You’d think after the lead in paint on kids toys coming from China which was speced out and dog food that is poison that we’d be a little more careful and a lot smarter in purchasing critical military components. Are we doing anything right?

Just one more thing our government is failing us on. The finance committees weren’t watching the banks and lending institutions, the Treasury Department was printing money and sending it all over the world, our Secret Service is getting drunk with whores and we’re borrowing money from the Chinese to give to Brazil so they can do some offshore oil drilling and to fight two wars. This has got to stop. It’s insane what the government is doing (not doing). I’m beginning to think the entire Federal Government is just one big GSA drunken vacation.
I know that this isn’t directly related to what the conversation is tonight, but it is another example of too much sloppy work by to big a government run my incompent polticians who have never done anything but run for office and play politics. All the while the “Men is Black” are standing guard to make sure that Memorial Day is ruined for thousands.

Fine posts John (both), Gunny (as always), Jerry, Jene, Grumpy and any I may have missed. Welcome my brothers. Thanks to you Mychal for providing this forum for all of us to “rant” in. I’m sure that aside from new words we all learn of news that won’t be seen on the boob tube. Gunny, I have a small sidebar to add to your post. The information on what Marie was talking about was new to me. I always thought that was an odd thing to say. I had decided it must be something like the last meal before the ax dropped. I have a point to where I’m going here, so bear with me.
I’ve worked with some chicken ranchers (being from Texas, that term still tickles me) in putting heating systems in their bird barns (about 75’ X 100’ I’m guessing). The hens are stuck in a cage about 3′ square (maybe less), stacked about four high promoting another sickening sight and automatically fed food and water from troughs moving in front of them. Their poop simply drops through the wire mesh floor of the cages they are in, fall to the floor and left to dry. The fragrance is something you’ll never forget. Almost as bad as the slaughter houses where they are prepared for the table. I don’t recommend a tour of either for anyone that likes chicken.
The poop simply builds up under the cages and is about a half inch deep by the time they are ready for that last truck ride. No need to tell anything about the harvesting part of the operation; it’s even worse. When the chickens are gone, the chicken barn is stripped of the cages and a small “Bobcat” (that’s a little bull dozer about the size of a big riding lawn mower) comes through and scrapes up the dried poop. Coincidentally, it’s called “cake”. I sure hope you are right about what Marie was referring to. The final step for the ones I worked on was to either sell the cake for fertilizer, dump it in a pond to make liquid fertilizer or added to their feed. Did I paint a graphic enough picture? Your cake and my cake was the point.
I’m still burned up about dropping charges connected with Fast Furious. Below is a copy of the email that I sent to every Representative in the nation that I think has any guts.

It was reported today that more than likely the House is going to drop the investigation of Fast and Furious by Representative Issas committee,
This is easily the biggest and most cowardly action taken by Representative Boehner, the Speaker of the House in his support of this administration. And it is reported that this action will be taken because of the fear of it being seen as racist.
I can assure you that if this happens, I’ll never again vote for anyone associated with the Republican Party nor will I make a red cent donation to any member of the party and I do not stand alone. I realize that my support is not a large consideration to the Republican but I believe that the volume of mail that will be received may be significant.
It can be called the hackneyed response of a bunch of gun toting, bible thumping back woods hicks or just another attack from the “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy”, and maybe it is. But if I was a Republican I would be more fearful of losing the votes of Republicans than I would be of being seen as a racist.

Hey Bob, you and I were playing ambassador at the same time. Some party eh? I was in the Delta area. 60th Forward Observation Group 10, 5th SF assigned. I was particularly impressed with the TET II party.
And Mychal, you know it’s not a racist thing with me. Well, you really don’t as I’m just words in a row, but this is one of the few places I feel I can say Blackwell, Oklahoma and not worry about being called a racist. I’d be just as disgusted if the shoe was on the other foot. And with some of the Republicans I’m not sure it isn’t.
Good grief, we have an administration that ignores the law and spits in the face of the courts. And nothing is done about it. They violate the constitution and nothing is done about it. We have a Secret Service all over the place and they do nothing about it except spend a little time with some soiled doves. Samey same with the FBI. And they would if they truly patriots. The administration spends money like it is unlimited and nothing is done about it. The only protection we have against what they are doing seems to be carrying their suitcases for them. I’d vote to have Boehner impeached and charged with aiding and abetting right along with Holder if the chance came up. I’d like to see him water up just one more time before they close and lock the doors.
It looks like the entire Federal Government has turned its back on the citizens. What few there are doing anything are charged, sued and maligned by Obama and his gang and the Republicans run over each other trying to distance themselves from them. Let’s not forget that Obama now has the power to have people arrested without charges and imprisoned without trial. And Congress let it get on his desk and handed him the pen. Somehow that’s not a warm and fuzzy for me.
Tie this in with Judicial Watches (I hope they are a stand up group) report that work is already well underway to fix the elections and it looks hopeless for our country. I write my Representative and Senators and link them to the report and get one form letter back giving me a history lesson about laws they’ve passed protecting voters rights and I won’t be around after this term (sob) but I’ll pass your letter on to my successor. I’m sure it will be the top letter in the pile on his/her desk. Now he/she might pick it up if I stapled a thousand dollar check to it, but I’ll bet it winds up in the trash bin quicker than the first party drunk is held. Nothing from the other Senator who has also said he’s leaving so I guess he doesn’t have to do even as little as he has. I call my Representative’s office (no way I’m going to really talk to him) and am told “Well, he’s (Obama) really aggressive and political.” What game did they think they were signing up for? There won’t be a “none of the above” on the ballot, but if Elmer Fudd is on it again, I’m voting for him.
It’ll take me a little longer to get to D C before you do, but start the charge without me. I’ll be the one one cussing them all by name and saying bad things about their mothers with the torch and pitchfork just as close to right behind you as I can get. I have the feeling that our country is lost except for playing Taps, (no hyper here) and there’s nothing we can do about it. Our enemies are sharpening their knives and salivating and the rest of the world is peeking between the curtains to the exit. All those years studying American History and the Constitution when I could have been fishing. What a waste. The whole thing is beginning to look like a big fat political lie from the get go.

To add insult to injury, I read today that the Republicans are probably going to drop their investigation of Eric Holder and this traitorous administrations part in the Fast and Furious gun running trick. The one where they not only are partially responsible for the deaths of over a thousand people, Mexican and American. If I had done it, wouldn’t it be called aiding and abetting or at least selling assault weapons without a Federal Firearms license? First they join Mexico and sue the State of Arizona for trying to protect their citizens from the crime wave brought into their state by illegal aliens. Fully 1/3 of the prisoners in Arizona’s prisons are illegal aliens. Naturally this is prima fascia evidence of racial profiling. It couldn’t possibly be the fact that they commit at least 1/3 of the crime in the state. Arizona had to take these actions because this shameful administration will not honor their primary responsibility to protect and defend the citizens of this country. To be “fair and balanced”, neither did the Bush administration, but at least they didn’t sue their own country. Then they initiate law suits against Sheriff Arpaio for doing what they are supposed to be doing, but refusing. And now the cowardly Republicans aren’t going to let Representative Issa’s investigation because they fear that doing this would be viewed as a racist action. In other words, because he’s black we’re not going to investigate an assault on one of our states and therefore our country or look at the motive for suing one of the countries toughest sheriffs in fighting crime.
More heinous and dangerous is the arming of an enemy of this country with assault weapons and most importantly an assault on our second amendments rights. Rights that have been upheld by the Supreme Court. And now, they’re going to drop the charges because he’s black? I guess we should be grateful that Holder isn’t robbing banks and jacking cars. I’m sure he would get a pass on that too. This is the Attorney General that dropped the charges against the Philadelphia Black Panther that was filmed blocking a polling place and intimidating would be voters with a club for lack of evidence. A case that was all but won by the previous administration. Parenthetically, this is the group that has put a bounty on Zimmerman’s head payable to whoever murders him.
So we have Democrats that can commit crimes with Impunity because they are black and Republicans afraid to bring to trial these people because they’re black. Just who is the racist here? Who is the traitor? Who is the man that impeachment proceedings will not be initiated against because he’s black. And who is the cowardly Republican currently holding the seat of Speaker of the House that is blocking action> Is this a once great country or what?
sumitch: if republicans drop pursuit of charges against holder…it is time for us to storm congress…I have been saying for at least 10 months that boehner was working to sabotage the proceedings against holder…and since fast and furious leads directly to the obama…it becomes clear that boehner is trying to protect the enemy of the people…if only hitler had had boehner to help him out…
I am literally unable to actually read all the replies to this, and while Mychal always garners substantial review, positive and negative, it is seldom so overwhelming as on this subject.
Carter did not block access to veteran’s memorials, he had the wisdom to know he was not welcome, and if he visited, it was on days of is own choosing, and stayed away from the Veterans who held him in total contempt.
Clinton too, kept away, knowing well his reputation as a “draft dodger” made him “persona non grata”, and while he attended such events as are customary for Presidents, he kept to himself and did not impead.
Reagan celebrated the Honor it was to have veterans surround him, and perhaps his life was at risk more than we know, but he chose to surround himself at such times with the people who made his own liberty and freedom possible.
GHW Bush did the same thing, also showing full respect and knowing the Veterans owned this day, and all the memorials to all our fallen, and non-Veterans were and are “only guests”, on that day or any day.
His son, GW Bush, was a veteran, and rightly celebrated the day of memory of the fallen, knowing some of the fallen in his own accord, and having made no bones about his inactive service, but clearly stating he was among the least of those who served, none the less, gave them the full honor of their day, in their “House” of memories.
Only a man who has the temerity to deny any honor to veterans of any form, living or dead, and who lived a life decrying their service as “baby killers” and “storm troopers”, the many screeds the left he is, supports, and is supported by live upon and breath as if it were the air, only such a person could think he could put forth the image of a president, honoring the very people who gave all of us, including himself, the freedom we experience, diluted and disdained as it is, by attending such a photo op, closing the site that belongs to those who fought and lived, from them, and believe for a moment, his act can be seen as anything but a self-agrandizing act, and not realize he has shown himself to be that day’s Marie Antoinette, closing the site for an act, as an actor, while its owners, those who fought with and shed blood and life with the commemorated were shut out, and not recognize the level of dishonor he has just made of himself.
When Marie Antoinette said “if they have no bread, let them eat cake”, she has been badly mis-quoted, and her disdain was greater than it appears. At that time, baking was done largely in huge charcoal fired ovens. What came out was bread that had a fine, tasty upper crust, a hearty and tough middle, fullsome and nutritious, and the bottom of the bread, which lay on the stone of the over, and was blackened by being directly on the stone hearth of the oven, and this was called “cake”, and was sold for almost nothing, and only the poorest ate of it.
She was not suggesting “cake” as we consider it, she was telling the working people of her Nation, if they were not of “the upper crust”, able to have the best, and could not afford “the bread” of the middle, as sold, let them eat the charred and blackened hard cake, that was from the bottom, and forget their labor once earned more than enough to both support the “upper crust” in their wealth, but also bought themselves “bread”, and not crumbs.
The comparison is an exacting one, as neither she, nor this illegal alien have ever had to “eat cake”, nor work to eat “bread”, but had the “upper crust” delivered to them from their birth to their day of judgment.
If he, the illegal alien, had any honor, he would choose to walk among those whose house memorial day makes all the memorials belong to, and theirs alone, with all others as mere guests, even kings and presidents, because if he had honor, he would have no fear, just as President Reagan, and so many others have shown.
If he cannot freely walk among the Veterans of Our Nation, how can he ever possibly be suited to hold any office among us? If even the veterans of last week, last month, and last year are a threat to him, does this not show he has been an evil factor in our Nation, as there is no chance of his assault by anyone normally feared by Leaders who are honorable, all of such are those in his full support.
General Washington was among the only Generals in the history of the world who unbuckled his sword, shortly after receiving the sword of his opposite, General Howe, I believe, and returning the sword as a gesture of respect for his opposite, and instead of announcing himself King, or even accepting the many other pronouncements of him being king, simply resigned his commission as the General of The Constinental Army, and returned to being a “Gentleman Farmer”.
He was properly selected a few years later to establish the comportment and proper attitude of a serving President over a Sovereign People, was, and still should be, the actual precedent we hold every presidential candidate to for a standard.
If a man cannot walk, as the supreme commander of our Armed Forces, freely, among the veterans of the wars in progress, the wars of recent past, nor even among the veterans of wars most citizens were not even alive at the time of, can there be any doubt he is an utter failure as a public servant, and without any trust of the military he commands, does he not need what should be in store for him, in mixing in with those he denied entrance, while pretending to take deep consideration of?
Many make little of this man, but he certainly has the cunning to know when not to appear, and when to rope off the public from access to himself. If we cannot see, this singular example proves his inability to fill the office, regardless of his qualifications or lack there of, his very person is too small to be in command of anyone, and he shows it on that day. He is not even in command of himself, and that is a pitiful circumstance for even the least of men.

john mcclain: My friend his action were deliberate and intentional…he intended to spit in the eye of those there…this is not the first time he has done this to people…he invited congressman ryan to a front row seat at a speech he was giving then proceeded to berate him before the nation…he lied and berated supreme court justices in front of the nation…he was an invited guest to a republican luncheon and once there he berated them…he routinely publicly berates and mocks others in his speeches…so nothing persuades me that his actions at The Wall were not intentional…he is preening smug commie punk…I can’t say what I’m thinking or i would have virginia farmboys in my backyard and black suv’s w/ tinted glass in my driveway…but w/ that said from what we hear many of them feel the same way I do…we have never had such wretched human being in the office he holds…and his harridan wife is no better…
Since 1950 over 100,000 Americans have lost their lives fighting Communism in Korea, Vietnam and some places we weren’t officially involved with. They were told by fighting it overseas we wouldn’t have to fight it here.
The names of 58,000 of those people are on the Wall. Obama’s insult cuts much deeper than his stunt on Memorial Day. That would be an unforgivable insult even if a President was a Vietnam Veteran. Obama is as far from that as possibe.
He openly associate’s with people like Tom Hayden, Mike Klonsky, Bernadine Dorhn and Bill Ayers.. While Americans were dying fighting communism those people were being trained and funded by communist governments to wage war on America from within.. Key Members of his Administration are so called Pink Diaper Babies. Valerie Jarrett, David Axlerod and Sec of Ed Duncan to name a few, were trained from a very young age in the wonders of communism.
Not only did a President block access to the Wall on Memorial Day.. But it was a President who supports the very thing those men died fighting against.

Apparently, no major media outlet found this news story worthy enough to report on. That’s our first problem. We have a news media who are squarely on the side of Obama and the Left and not reporting anything negative. This is precisely why this guy was elected in the first place. I had no idea that the Vietnam Memorial had been closed to the public on MEMORIAL Day 2012 Seven foolish hours – All for Obama to make an appearance with his camera crew, security squads, and select Liberal followers for A lying Fifteen minutes to tell everyone how the Muslims helped to shape America, no doubt. I have no idea what Obama talked about in fifteen minutes but it wasn’t worth closing off the Memorial to those who had connections with the deceased or to any American who wanted to pay their respects. Those who would not want to hear his chatter would simply ignore the man and do what they came to do at the Vietnam Memorial. Thanks, Mychal and others for putting this up in our “homes” so we know what happened. As my father would say when he listened to WaterGate data re: Nixon televised lies, “Throw the Bum Out!” Also, my thanks to all on this page who served or knew someone who served during the Vietnam War. I saw some of the aftermath at hospital on Okinawa. God Bless Us All.

It’s a near crime that this has happened and like many below I wonder why I saw nothing in the news. Maybe the press thinks it’s un-American to speak ill of the Commander in chief on Memorial Day. Maybe much of the press is already controlled by the government. At the rate we are going it’s just a matter of time. We should remember that this day is to honor and remember the fallen in service for our country. It’s a sign of our admiration and respect of bravery for these men and women.
Many of these are the people that responded to their draft notice and served honorably. These are the men and women that were cursed and spit on as they returned from the battlefield, and like many that were fortunate enough to not be killed, they wondered why we were there, what were we accomplishing? Somehow the excuse that we were stopping the spread of communism doesn’t hold water any longer if it ever did.
Why are we at war today on two fronts? Are we stopping the spread of communism or Islam? And yes Mr. President, we are at war with Islam. Islam seeks to deny us one of the basic unalienable rights given us by God, not man and enshrined in our Constitution. Personally, I’m writing to Fox News to express my disgust with their “Fair and Balanced” motto. Surely Mr. “You’re a great American” could have given five minutes of his precious show to report this. I can’t lay it totally on Fox, because I saw nothing on CNN or MSNBC either. Or the local news or newspapers. Maybe I just missed seeing it when they were reporting on it. But Fox and particularly Sean Hannity spend so much time wrapping themselves in the flag; I would have thought that this was a great free moment for them to at least run this as a public servie announcementt. I guess not.
It’s just another example of the trouble our country is in along with the other thieves and liars we see and read. Finding unbiased, truthful facts is becoming more and more difficult. I don’t depend on the internet for much more than the occasional joke that strikes me as funny or to look up the meaning of a word I find used in here. Much of my thoughts and beliefs come from blogs like this where I read the comments of others. It makes me feel like I’m not standing on a high hill screaming into the wind.
Yes, I realize that this blog is biased, even with the effort given to let almost anyone speak their piece. And so am I. Mostly though I see conservative people venting their frustration at the state of affairs as we see them. Maybe, possibly I just don’t want to confab with a bunch of liver licking liberals who try to tell me how to live my life, what to spend my money on and what donations I should make and to whom, while they do what they want and dare me to reciprocate.
I guarantee I’ll never be spit at or stand by and see it happen to another veteran. I’ll unleash the full force and might of an old geezer on them. I’ll smack them with my cane and gum them into begging for mercy. Beware of old Geezers. We know we can’t win a fight any more, so we use sneak attacks and airport trash cans. Josie, true there are some in the military that approve of him or at least go along out of fear of losing their jobs and powerful positions (also known as PC) but I do not believe the majority do. Only those who have a ‘blind spot’ for whatever excuse and are not paying attention to what he is actually doing to the military and the whole country as opposed to what he claims. In my opinion, those who cannot or will not see through his obvious lies do not deserve to be in our nation’s armed forces. We certainly can get along without such willful ignorance. And if my comment steps on the toes of anyone reading here, that is just too bad. Deal with it.

It’s kinda bittersweet in seein’ these Vets finally startin’ to speak up. I just fwd’d a similar email letter about a Vet and his buddies bein’ denied access to their fallen brothers and sisters. Not so sure they’re a group that the Usurper-in-Chief knows what he’s takin’ on though. They are the heart and soul of America and God help the person who thinks otherwise.
It just saddens me that they have to be put to this test all over again for such a pathetic excuse of a human being. All said and done . . .my money is on the Vets!! God Bless them Every One!!!

For me life begins again in January after our current President is replaced. In the mean time I’m working as best I know how to start making a difference in my local political party, my town, my county, my state and my country. It is my prayer that everyone turned away that day and everyone who is not happy with what is happening in our country will tell at least one person and encourage at least one person to vote in all the primaries and in the November election. Change starts in my heart, in my home, in my community and yours as well. I’ve complained, now I’m doing!
