Obama Didn’t Mention This Buffett/Soros Factoid Last Night

In my Daily Rant “Preview to SOTU,” I shared without attribution a private comment to me from a respected friend and colleague. It pointed out the Michelle Obama’s hypocrisy: $81 steaks, $30 hamburgers, $100 desserts, and the price of wines she swills. I also laid out what we would hear and what we wouldn’t hear from her husband, the great divider.

That said, I didn’t watch the SOTU, I read the transcript which was only slightly less cruel and painful than watching and listening to him. But, you know, I’m starting to find the Obama’s laughable. Last night, he berated the rich even though he personally took advantage of every tax loophole available to keep from paying what he claims is the “fair share” the rich are supposed to pay. And his wife shows up in a $2,500 dress (no estimate on the cost of her shoes and jewelry), $15,000 makeup job, looking as unflattering as ever.

They used Warren Buffett’s secretary as a prop, in an attempt to get mileage from the so-called Buffett rule. But nowhere in his speech did he comment that he personally pays less in taxes than some of his staff. And while I’m on the subject, enough of Buffett already. He’s no more of a genius than a lot of other multi-millionaires and billionaires who were as lucky as they were capable in their areas of industry.

Buffett is no saint, he knowingly misleads the uninformed and those easily misled about his generosity and genius. He doesn’t give money away because he is philanthropic or altruistic – he does it because it’s in his best interest financially and it’s about time we started pointing that out. And while we’re doing that, every news outlet and political essayist should lay out the extent that Buffett and George Soros stand to profit from Obama’s decision to deny the Keystone Pipeline. (See: Billionaire Buffett’s Bakken Boom; Investors Business Daily; 11/16/11) Buffett’s rule should be spelled cronyism.

There stood the boy pharaoh stood last night, trying to cast the image of leader, orator, genius, and being in control – but when you read his speech and/or listen to soundbites of it, he comes across as one who’s day are numbered.

Obama’s speech writers handed him a speech that as Byron Tau, very astutely pointed out at Politico.com, his speech was: “[once] again rated at an 8th grade comprehension level on the Flesch-Kincaid readability test – the third lowest score of any [SOTU] address since 1934.” (State of the Union registers at 8th grade reading level; 1/25/12) The speech was colled together with the same lines he has used in other speeches since 2010.

In “Preview To SOTU” I wrote: “To be sure, Democrats will bounce up and down like bobble-head dolls applauding his every other paragraph, but what we will not hear from Obama that we could applaud, is him admit he has misled the nation and will step down immediately.”

So let me sum this up. You have Obama bathing in the limelight of his swagger, giving a speech that is on an 8th grade comprehension level that was fully intended to get the uneducated and those who are challenged intellectually riled up by telling them rich people have it better than they do. You have him in one paragraph boasting how his bailouts worked, and a paragraph later saying bailouts don’t work, and claiming there would be no more bailouts.

Of course, the Democrats bounced up and down like bobble-head dolls, Obama was speaking on a level their constituents could understand, well, at least most of them. Obama’s speech was about envy, resentment, class/race war mongering, and making people feel inadequate and unequal. It was a speech about no so much the government being able to help the masses, but about Obama himself being able to make it all better.

There was no mention of jobs, no mention increased spending, no mention of government expansion, no mention of “Fast and Furious,” no mention of union cronyism, no mention of his being in league with Soros and Buffett to cost people jobs and certainly no mention of the failure his administration has been. No wonder it was necessary to give a speech on an 8th grade comprehension level – he had to. But, I think Obama’s mojo is wearing thin. I have never heard more pundits and program hosts being more critical of Obama than this morning. And they were being critical in a laughing in way that was pointing out his idiocy – even though some tried to be delicate and not come right out and say how pitiful his exercise was last night.

I’m not saying Obama isn’t dangerous, I am saying that he and his wife are becoming increasingly more nauseatingly laugh worthy. He is behaving like a boy pharaoh, who was received no formal leadership training, with his angry harridan who tells us what to eat while she would eat Rhode Island if someone put catsup on it. When you take a good look, you see the black version of the Beverly Hillbillies. They embarrassed themselves and the nation by not knowing how to dress, behave, or what gifts to give foreign dignitaries. Photo after photo she is shown in some unflattering ensemble that cost taxpayers small fortunes, her lavish vacations, as he plays golf and sings Al Green.

When you step back and look at them, they are laughable hate-mongers who have no idea of protocol, and who’s governmental strategy was formed in the mind of Saul Alinsky. Living inside their bubble, where they are fawned over, and can order people to bow and grovel only works in the White House. In the real world there is a tsunami of contempt that is growing and I believe it just might be that the people have the last and best laugh.

Mychal, you always make my day with the delicious imagery your words conjure in my mind! While the Obama’s are certainly guache, what makes them unlike the Clampett’s is that Hillbillies had a level of class that Obama’s could only dream of. Really, except for the fact that Ellie walked around with a diapered monkey and Granny carried a shotgun, the joke was pretty much at the expense of their citified neighbors. While I was working the other night, I had one ear turned on the SOTU and for the life of me, didn’t hear one thing that seemed to actually address our SOTU – it sounded like a poorly written campaign speech read by a desperate candidate – it seemed like he was trying to appeal to everyone with disjointed one-liners that didn’t seem to flow in any sort of cognitive way. I’m glad that you heard what I did about how the bailouts worked/would never work again. What was up with that? How can he claim that there will be no more “bailouts” when all he’s done is set it up so that anyone who wants to be bailed out, of whatever it is they are/get themselves “in,” will be done so from now on? I’m glad that I wasn’t the only one who thought the whole thing seemed desperate. I’m glad that I am not the only one who thought he seemed unsure of himself and what he was reading. I’m glad that I’m at least educated enough to know that the speech sounded uneducated (I had no idea until now about the 8th grade comprehension level). I’m glad that I have your insights and humor to lend a voice of hilarious reason to this crazy state of affairs. And I know I will be MORE than glad when this buffoon is out of office and unable to do anymore damage to the State of OUR Union! Thanks for a great read and for starting my day off with a giggle! (She’d eat RI if someone put catsup on it!!) ;-) *Sigh* We may as well laugh as cry…

I like you couldn’t watch this, it pains me to hear his voice with that phony tone of his like he really cares. The guy is a habitual liar and his wife has her head so big that it’s in competition with her BUTT. I saw a smidgen of the SOTU on YouTube and in it I saw Boner rising up and down applauding like a jerk, he needs to go also!

Economist/Writer Walter Williams has written that Barry is as good as elected to another term. Walter, Please, say it ain’t so! But alas, folks, there is more of ‘them’ than there is of us. And Barry wasn’t talking to US at the carnival, he was talking to ‘them’. And for those of us who are repulsed at him and his mate, and revolted by the political parasites that are allowing him to continue because its good for their own pockets, I can only say, “You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet! Buh Buh Buh Baby you just ain’t seen nuthin’ yet.”
Barry is doing what he is paid by his masters to do. Soros, and the banking gangsters that give him his orders, bought and paid for this puppet Obama, and he is dancing to his masters puppet strings. Just like W before him, and Slick Willie before him, and daddy Bush before him, and so on, and so on, and so on,etc. And the Federal Reserve and the IMF and the BIS (they are all the same organization and hierarchy) are the puppet masters. Ron Paul is trying to get you to see this. And you’re focusing on Barry and Mitt and Newt. Wake up, America! Quit being mesmerized by the clown in the White House, and realize until you overthrow the Money Masters, we will continue down this Yellow Brick Road spiral to Communism, which is the religion of one small group owning and controlling everything.
    Shalom, Ya’ll.

You know how ‘The Rich’ get away w/ those low tax rates? Thru their tax-exempt Foundations that they basically have puppets to “control” but the Buffett/Soros crowd really pull the strings behind the scenes. This was started around the turn of the last century by the likes of Andrew Carnegie, John D Rockefeller Sr & then Henry Ford followed suit. It gives them the ‘appearance’ of philanthropy, but in reality they have funded everything from the Bolshevik Revolution to the Nazi buildup in WWII. They are what one would call ‘Finpols’- financier politicians but let the elected officials get their hands dirty & take the heat. Like everyone else, I refused to watch Obama use his favorite trinity of “me-myself & I” in every other word. I sure hope we all band together & “Clean House” -(and Senate) come Nov.

    Dear Mychal,
I would agree with you in your comparison of obama and his diva as the “Black version of the Beverly Hillbillies”, however if I remember right, Jed carried a rifle, and hunted for his family’s supper, and reminded me of an un-educated Lincoln, quick to step in, slow to render judgment, and completely rational. Granny was hard charging keeping everyone on their toes, and doing their share of the chores, never missing a beat, and showing her disdain for criminal government by running a still. Jethro was the closest thing to Mrs. obama, but with a bit more common sense, not much but a bit. Ellie was beautiful, engaging, loving, and careful about those pursuing her, and able to handle herself, and any man who would try to put her in harness.
The show was meant to be comedy, and not serious to any degree at all, but it demonstrated every facet of good that America was famous for, and those shown as evil and conniving were personified pretty accurately, in the banker, the shysters, and all who tried to take advantage of “the hill billies”.
Jed Clampet made better, more cogent speaches in that show than obama could ever make, even with writers, and Jed’s were tied to standards we all know as “American” while obama’s are all tied to standards we all know as “Castro’s or Stalin’s even Lenin’s”.
No Mychal, I have to disagree with you, obama said nothing which could possibly be construed as “American”, and in every way, has to be construed as “dictatorial” as he moves to become tyrant.
On top of all that, every single thing he said was a lie, because telling the truth not only would be his end, but it in fact, something he is abjectly unaware exists, by all his actions. One must really wonder what is inside the head of his wife, as she seems to enjoy her status so thoroughly, and she can’t be ignorant of how far from her statements of principle made, her actions really are and be capable of getting into college.

I watched “Boner” during the SOTU. I wanted to see when he applauded and when he didn’t. The most ovation from “Boner” was given when Obama mentioned the Military and all Militay in attendance stood. Other than that, my intent was to watch Obama hang himself; watch the body language. He used the Buffett crapola again as expected. Of course Buffett will continue to hide his money so the federal government will not get his money. He’s no fool. I saw the turquoise dress that Micelle wore. She was lovely and stood out like a sore thumb. All I saw were dollar signs. I suppose her dainty feet were clad with that pair of ugly shoes she bought in Hawaii to the tune of over 600 tax dollars. Suppose she would wear them twice?

Elected, appointed and hired government employees owe IRS over a Billion Dollars in unpaid Taxes yet they still show up for work everyday to get their paychecks and yet those who do pay their FAIR SHARE are threatened if they are a few days late! Shouldn’t any Tax Code/Law/Rule apply to all American’s equally?

Why will it get any better under President Romney? Our country has become one big lobby fair posing as democracy. We will have whatever profits our overlords whether we want it or not.

  14. Conservative News January 26, 2012 at 1:07 am #

They say his state of the union speech was 7000 words. Why in the world do we need Presidents up there talking that long? In the old days the President just sent the SOTU to Congress in a letter. Oh for the good ole days!

If he had run as the unvarnished Marxist he is, he would have been vilified and not elected.

Now he speaks unabashedly as if to channel Marx and Engels, and people are afraid to challenge his views, which run contrary in ways heretofore neither heard nor seen with respect to our democracy.

It would behoove everyone to raise their voice now, for if he somehow gets re-elected, I assure you that airing those same views will have ramifications that, like everything else he has done or attempted to do, will run contrary to The Constitution.

  16. Elizabeth Lovett January 25, 2012 at 6:12 pm #

    Mychal,

I, like you, could not stomach another SOTU propaganda speech from this President. And the media falls all over themselves when they continually broadcast the lies and Castro-like speeches that comes from this mans mouth.

I was even more applaud when I heard that Senator Coleman said that there is no interest in getting rid of Obama care! Can you believe that? Obama care is a backdoor way to control the individual and we have Republicans saying that it cannot be repealed or they don’t want to repeal it. I am no fan of Newt Gingrich but I do believe that he would repeal this unpopular law or break it down so it can have less of an effect on the individuals and businesses. However, It appears that Sec. Sibelius is prepared to continue enforcing the law even if the Supreme Court removes the individual mandate aspect. Although the law says that the law is severable if the individual mandate is remove they will still move forward and enforce the law. All I have to say is “Lord, deliver us from Obama!”
