I don’t want to step to far into the area of expertise of my friend and colleague Dan Bubalo, who I am enormously proud to have persuaded to do a weekly exclusive, “Money and Politics” feature that appears here Monday’s. When it comes to money and politics – in my opinion, he is one of the finest essayists today per his former field of endeavor. With that caveat in place, let me say if you are buying the gar-bage the media marionettes and party apparatchiks are blathering about the economy pursuant to last week’s job report – please contact me. I’ve got several bridges that I just know you’d be interested in buying from me.
Obama, is preening, while his wife does her darndest to out impersonate Imelda Marcos – spending and living lavishly with the unrepentant attitude of Marie Antoinette. They are feeling confident, because as “Michelle Obama-Marcos” boasted while spending our tax money in Africa, the media has their back. And therein lies the rub. People just buy/accept whatever the media prattles endlessly on about, at a particular moment.
There is no way this economy is recovering. Manufacturing numbers are not healthy, a record 1.2 million people fell out of the labor force in one month alone, over 6 million jobs have been lost, crude oil continues to be $100 per barrel or higher, real estate and the housing market is still in the tank, and the Kenyan Communist in the White House wants to bail out homeowner mortgages which will cost the economy billions. Does that sound like a recovery to you?
Fuel prices are conservatively predicted to be $5 gallon by early summer, which means diesel fuel prices will be closer to $6 gallon, which means most of the middle class will have to make drastic changes in their lives, just to be able to afford food for their tables. That said, consider what you are paying for the same grocery items today, juxtaposed to what you were paying when Obama took office. Consider what it cost you to travel to work each month today, as opposed to when he took office, consider what you are paying to heat/cool your homes. Consider what it costs to travel for business and/or pleasure.
The media marionettes can go on and on mouthing administration talking points and hype, but the bottom line is this economy is in the tank and the only ones who don’t know it are the ones who will be the most adversely affected, i.e., the people.
Obama fallaciously boasts of General Motors as proof the bailouts worked, (right before he claimed there would be no more bailouts because they don’t work). Claiming General Motors is back on solid ground and foisting them as a success symbol of intrusive government intervention – is like saying a baseball player who hits 60 home runs in a season, but strikes out 300 times, has fewer than 80 rbi’s, has less than 30 walks for the season, with a batting average of .200 is a great hitter. My point being, that depends entirely upon how thoroughly you examine the empirical data. It also depends upon how complete your knowledge is of the game and macro data.
General Motors has fewer employees, it’s share price is less than half of what i should be to repay the taxpayers it still owes nearly $24 billion, it’s sales overall are down, and Das Fuhrer’s most highly prized and touted Chevy Volt is not only an economic disaster per unit cost, it has been an extraordinarily, spectacular sales failure.
And the aforementioned is just the tip of the iceberg. I haven’t mentioned the people who are now retiring broke, because government dictated we have to participate in a miserably failed system, called social security, nor did I reference those who saw their retirement 401K plans tank just as they were preparing to retire.
The media is gaga over the supposed 8.3 percent unemployment number, but that number is more bogus that the bearded woman’s beard. Even CNBC’s financial analyst, Rick Santelli pointed out the weak points Obama’s jobs data was using to artificially push down the unemployment rate. The factual unemployment rate hoovers somewhere between 11 percent and more realistically 15.6 percent.
As I wrote in my syndicated piece, Nero In The White House: “Many in America wanted to be proud when the first person of color was elected president, but instead, they have been witness to a congenital liar, a woman who has been ashamed of America her entire life, failed policies, intimidation and a commonality hitherto no witnessed in political leaders. He and his wife view their life at our expense as an entitlement – while America‘s people go homeless, hungry, and unemployed.” (WND.com; 8/8/11)
Super Bowl Sunday, Dancing With The Stars, are the colosseum games, meant to entertain you as the media marionettes mislead you, away from the truth of what this maniacal Communist is actually doing. Taken all together, it gives new meaning to the phrase “dumbed down.”

Rather than worrying about what they (Obamas) are doing to our country Mychal, what can we do to get rid of them?
peter & cherri vitali: now you’re thinking…the fact is we do one keeping our eyes on the other to slow them down…I argue we work to take both halves of congress in teh event that romney gets nomination and looses election…we use congress to hold him in check…and put his behind in a vice if he continues to work outside of his constitutional authority…I also advocate we dump boehner, cantor, hatch, mccain, chambliss, and host of others asap…
Rather than worrying about what they (Obamas) are doing to our country, what can we do to stop them Mychal?
Bookmarked your post!
Mychal–
I always considered sports to be a giant diversion and waste of time– Few people seem to see them for what they are– And you describing them as Colosseum games is exactly right.
Funny, how people wrap so much of their lives up with sports and spend way more time preparing for Super Bowl Sunday than paying attention to to the dictator-in-chief who seeks to destroy them.
Even better, I am reading online that both Super Bowl team owners gave 5K to Obama’s re-election campaign– For that reason alone I could not stomach watching the Superbowl.
Further, sports in school just teaches kids to not be individuals, to do as they are told to fit and they will receive accolades, respect of the community, free cheerleaders and forcing the other loser kids (who could care less about sports) to attend pep rallies and to further cheer on already inflated egos. It’s sick really. Virtually none of these kids goes on to college or pro sports, but they do end up with bad knees, bad necks and bad spines for the rest of their lives.
Time for men to wake up, put away the nonsense and childish entertainment, and to start acting like men again. We are losing everything. Wake up!
david: I like sports…but I don’t allow same to blind me to what is going on…
May God have mercy on our souls as we descend down the rabbit hole.
seafarer chief: no redemption unless there is confession belief acceptance…that said w/out same mercy is but a word…its available but rejected…
I am very afraid that somewhere in the Kenyan Kommie’s second term, he will declare emergency powers and become President for life as happens many places in the 3rd world. We are seeing the beginning of the reign of King Barak I. But as long as we have food stamps and HDTV, who cares? I have had several people for years telling me BHO is the Anti-Christ and they are sounding less and less nutty to me. I hope I am wrong.
gary thomsen: that would require control of both parties and/or cooperation from same…plus he would have to literally blow up SCOTUS…that ain’t happening…it’s the incoherent thought process of those given to extreme conspiracies…don’t buy into it…
Good Rant, Mychal~Hit the nail on the head, as usual. I wonder what goes on behind the scenes that no one knows about? Only speculation, of course. How many pairs of shoes, dresses and underwear were shipped to Michelle’s family members? I think she keeps them in the loop for the goodies at tax payers’ expense. Of course, she probably wears each item once before sending onto others. Spreading the used Wealth. The reason I bring this up was the latest purchase that we learned about, the fifty thousand dollars spent on under garments. How can any one woman wear fifty thousand dollars worth of under garments in a life time? I think there is more to Micehlle’s shopping sprees at tax payers’ expense than meets the eye.
marilyn: you can’t begin to imagine what its like out of the camera eye…and don’t count on media sharing the truth…that includes the condemnable talk that goes unreported…that would have people drag them from office…
I recall from my college days reading about “bread anc circuses”; the way the Roman emperors appeased the unwashed masses of the empire. Free, or at least cheap, entertainment at the gladiatorial fights, spectactular events meant to take away the feelings of desperation and hopelessness for a few days by flaunting new heroes that the masses could adore as their miserable lives remained under the thumb of a dictator who ruled by his will under a guise of a senate whose power was all but ceremonial. Free bread was tossed to the masses to quell the ache in hungry bellies by the magnimanity of a benevolent despot who only cared that assuaging their hunger kept them in control. Our current occupant of the White House has learned well from history. He uses the media well as a way to dispel the angst from the masses. Television has helped tame the same beast, and Obama has a willing 4th Estate that gives the masses what they want 24 hours a day. Blood, gore, sex, everything that satisfys the lust of the masses. And with the expansion of entitlements (and I do not include Social Security, nor even Medicare in these, I’m talking about WELFARE, FOODSTAMPS, WIC, and all the freebies), there is just enough money dribbled out to the unwashed, to keep them in check. Hail, Caesar!
memett: you are very accurate in your assessment…
The general population that votes for Obama have no idea what is happening in our country. They won’t read a contribution like yours or any other conservative site. They believe what the lame stream media spouts and it is false. Obama’s numbers are so false and he is so proud of the “progress of the country” it is sickening.
I have family members that don’t like that I read commentary from Mychal and news from WND. They say their news is skewed while they quote to me from NYTimes and Washington Post. How laughable is that? Big difference between people dedicated to following a concept known as Absolute Truth (immutable truth as delivered to us by God) versus the relative truth of the liberal. I will take my news and commentary from trustworthy people, not liberals who believe the end justifies the means and I am their enemy.
kelso: if it helps you can tell them washington post has carried my work and quoted me for yrs…as matter of fact I not to long ago was interviewed for piece in WaPo…lol…
peggy wiseman: they either won’t or agree w/ what is taking place…
So true Mychal. What may be legally permissable is not necessarily ethically nor morally right. Obama and the Congress must be made to understand this.
Ginny, they do understand it. I remember a statement from a Georgia senator around the turn of the 20th century, “Gentlemen, never be guilty of underestimating the gross ingnorance of the American public.” sorry, i can’t remember his name, but i will look it up again. They understand very well what they are doing.
caveman: indeed they do…they delight that the people don’t…
ginny: w/ that said much of what they say is not legally permissible…congress just lets him get away w/ it…I think it was elijah cummings who said most of what congress does it doesn’t have authority to do…
Well said.
kelso: thks much…
