Obama won’t obey SCOTUS

The question of whether or not Obama, vis-à-vis the federal government, has the constitutional authority to mandate that we buy health insurance under threat of penalty will now presumably be decided by the Supreme Court.

The question that begs an answer is: If the high court rules Obama does not have the constitutional authority to force us to purchase health insurance, will Obama abide by the ruling or will he pull a Franklin D. Roosevelt and attempt to overrule the court’s decision?

Don’t say “not a chance” too quickly. He’s already arbitrarily decided what laws he would not enforce – telling his attorney general not to enforce the law. Moreover, who would have imagined Congress abdicating its responsibility and allowing him to do it?

You can argue he has essentially neutered Congress (with their consent), circumventing its legislative responsibility through the use of executive orders. Nicholas Ballasy, writing for the Daily Caller, captured Obama’s hubris when he told a crowd: “I’m here to say to all of you … [I] can’t wait for … Congress. … I’ve told my administration to keep looking every single day for actions [I] can take without Congress, steps that can … make government more efficient and responsive … and [I'm] going to be announcing these executive actions on a regular basis.” (“Obama says he’ll be taking ‘executive actions’ without Congress on ‘regular basis’ to ‘heal the economy,’” Oct. 24, 2011)

Specific to his belligerent braggadocio that best resembles a spiteful child, angry because he must obey his parents, he devises a method of disobedience, daring them to object. Combining all of the executive orders of Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush, the total number spanning their combined 32 years was 315. Obama, in less than three full years of his first term, has signed 99, with two more waiting to be signed that will bring the total to 101. And he has promised to sign more every day, if he so deems, for the express purpose of getting his way.

This from a man with zero business experience, who is singularly responsible for the loss of millions of jobs and who has spent $4.5 trillion in less than three years into his first term. Dick Schoen and Pat Caddell – Democrat strategists of unimpeachable credentials – disgustedly admit that Obama has no clue about how business and the economy works – but I digress.

Obama arbitrarily decided to invade Libya without congressional authority, insisting he didn’t need it. Even when the ACLU pointed out that President George W. Bush had gone before Congress to get authority to go into Iraq – telling him they were prepared to take legal action because he had failed to do so – still Obama pushed back and spitefully dragged his feet until the sword of Damocles was at his throat.

When President George W. Bush proposed to overhaul and privatize Social Security he was met with fierce opposition. Rather than destructively polarize the nation, he sought other recourses. When President Clinton introduced his health-care proposal, he was met with similar fierce opposition. He, too, rather than destroy the cohesiveness of the nation, abandoned it and sought alternatives. Bush, a globalist, and Clinton, a liberal, put the will of the people above their personal desires.

But Obama, in the face of his uncontrolled spending, unparalleled unemployment, a housing market collapse and an economy that demanded attention – decided to respond in the most vulgar ways ever witnessed by a sitting president. He chose to ignore the economy and added trillions more in spending just to have his way.

In my column “Madison must be rolling over,” I wrote: “… on May 27, 1935 ([Roosevelt's] aptly termed Black Monday), the Supreme Court handed down three unanimous opinions that struck down key provisions of the New Deal.” (WND, March 2, 2009)

“Roosevelt, however, denounced the court and introduced the ‘court packing bill’ in an attempt to expand Supreme Court membership, by which he planned to nominate justices who would side with him. This resulted in a bitter dispute between the two branches of government, with Roosevelt ultimately prevailing – which resulted in his overstepping the Constitution and ushering in the belief that government is our nanny.”

With his track record, can you honestly be confident of Obama obeying the SCOTUS should they not rule as he wants? Did he not tell lies about the court and berate the justices during his State of the Union speech? He ignored the ruling of the lower court when it ruled the government option was not constitutional.

I say this man’s narcissism will not permit him to simply abide by a ruling he doesn’t like. Roosevelt didn’t and it worked – why should Obama be any different?

There is no question that Obama is a narcissist and he acts like a spoiled child. Show me a bona fide socialist that does not act this way. Unfortunately, he is a successful socialist. To be a “true believer” of socialism you must first subscribe to the premise that socialism has failed, over the last 200 years, because there was always a hold out- The United States of America. If America were to become a Socialist nation, socialism would be a raving success- after the necessary rounding up of non-believers to be imprisoned or shot.

History tells us there was always a place for capital to flee to escape socialism and that was America. How do you change that? You collapse her financial system by over spending and over leveraging. This has been Obama’s imperative. He has been deaf to everything else. To Obama, the economy is a priority. But the priority is to destroy it. He has had his own committees recommend cuts, and he has completely ignored them. In fact, he spends more and borrows more. We should not get caught up in his narcissistic characteristics and his seemingly inept leadership. His leadership has thus far been brilliant. He fane’s that he is trying to get the American economy back on track; but, the conservative congress is in the way. When in reality he is systematically derailing the economy and has been from the start. The economy is dynamite and social unrest is the primer cord. The question is will people wise up to it. Nobody can believe that a sitting POTUS would do this to his own country. Many will continue to ignore it…to everyone’s peril. There is no question in my mind that Obama will ignore the SCOTUS, as he has the Congress, and as he has the American people- this will be part of the lighting of social unrest. Obama’s thinking is “Stay the Course, fane impossibility of working with Congress; divide the American people; create social unrest (the more violent the better); selectively use, or not use, federal law; bypass all other branches of constitutional government; increase agency authority (EPA, etc); and continue to spend and leverage.” If he is not trying to do this, what the hell is he doing?

If congress allows the blatant cover up of the sickening Fast and Furious can of worms to continue, including the recently discovered mysterious disappearance of evidence and case records in AZ and CA, without imposing severe criminal penalties and removal from office of the perpetrators it will be a signal to the administration that it can do anything it wants to, including being accessories to the murder of federal agents and the probable murder of an unknown number of people in a foreign nation right on our border.
Apparently kagan is refusing to remove herself from the upcoming hearings on obamacare which probably assures a ruling in favor of obama. But even if the SCOTUS decides against and rules it unconstitutional, I have no doubt he will try to find a way around that. His out-of-control ego and narcissistic mind will not allow him to simply yield to any ruling that goes against what he wants. He and his criminal flunkies will not be stopped until or unless they are removed from office. In one way or another. I have very little faith that even if a 2012 election takes place, it will be conducted honest and above board if it looks like there is any chance he might lose. They are already gearing up to steal it.
Mychal is correct that President Bush and Clinton put the will of the people over their personal agendas but this fraud and those pulling his strings have no such intention. He has made that perfectly clear to anyone that is paying attention. To this point the republicans in congress and the senate have shown little proclivity to seriously oppose the betrayal being perpetrated on our country. They are out of touch and few of them care what we want or think and have already proven so many times. I do not foresee a peaceful transition of power such as has always been our history no matter how contentious campaigns and elections have been. These people are not going to willingly give up the power they have so successfully and fraudulently usurped and I believe they will stop at nothing to hang on to it. Obama and the cabal of criminals and traitors he has surrounded himself with is more dangerous to the sovereignty, individual freedoms, and culture of our nation than any external threat in our history. We basically stood united against foreign enemies and could not be conquered. Not so against a domestic foe that many refuse to recognize for what it is.

wakinyan: roosevelt got away w/ it and so far packing the court or ignoring it is the only thing obama hasn’t done…

Liberals, no not liberals, progressives, will always play the race card when their beloved liar in chief is criticized in any way.
Herman Cain on the other hand, a “real” Black Man and a conservative with a wealth of real world experiences will only be criticized by progressives for being a uncle Tom, Oreo, token, or any other derogatory slur they can apply to him but it’s never racist!
A pox on these left wing scum.

One other point I’d like to make. If anyone cares to look up the definition of liberal in a dictionary, printed before 1960 for sure, it will be apparent that the founders of this great nation were liberals, preferring freedom and representative government over rule by a monarch. Progressives hijacked the term liberal and few realize that fact.

Unfortunately the dunderbuns in Washington are not willing to get around and begin the impeachment proceedings that should have begun long, long ago. They are not willing to accept their responsibilities. All of them too need to be fired.

  6. Dave C November 25, 2011 at 10:14 am #

Let us hope that he defies the court. (1) We need a good constitutional crisis to mobilize the all too quiet conservatives (2) If he commits a blatant violation of the law, we can arrest and jail him pursuant to an impeachment proceeding. As Rahm the First would say, “Never waste a good crisis.” Beat them by playing by their rules.

    • Christel November 25, 2011 at 1:59 pm #

Boy, I’m with you on that. I think we do need a good constitutional crisis to wake up the silent majority that are sitting back waiting for others to ‘solve their problems’. Can’t happen soon enough. I think we’ve already wasted some of the ‘good crises’ that have come along. Hopefully, the band wagon will get a big jump on soon!

  7. gynojunkie November 23, 2011 at 7:07 pm #

I fear you are correct, Mychal. Our alleged POTUS will use his executive orders to usurp the Rule (and Spirit) of Law. The Constitution is shredded, and the present “occupiers” of the White House have and continue to sell out our nation, weaken us at home and abroad, and there is no action these “occupiers” will not take to furthur their ruinous financial, social, political and infrastructural wrong-minded and disingenuous policies.

America is failing under his ‘leadership’–actually, he does not lead, rather, he hands off responsibility to the idiots-in-charge of his ill-picked Cabinet, the failed Supercommittee, a runaway Dept. of Justice which doesn’t know the first thing about Justice, etc. Instead, our alleged POTUS is now the Campaigner-In-Chief, believing that he owns another four years of “Occupy White House.”

    Change–You Can Step In!

I understand fear in children and those who are threatened or have been harmed physically and emotionally, but I do NOT understand the cowardice of Congress and its complete abdication of its sworn duties.

No seeds, no chutzpa, and not a modicum of statesmanship.

    • Michael November 25, 2011 at 10:54 am #

No offense to anyone (and the fact that I must make that statement is the core of the problem),but it’s because he is black.
The nation is spiraling out of control, downward into the Liberal abyss, simply so that a black man can have his way to prove that we aren’t a racist nation. That is a more noble example of the intentions. The other is even more disgusting and that is the political elite who know darn well what is going down and sacrifice the nation’s well being for the sake of money and power. They are capitalizing on that race card and playing it at every hand.
The only way I see to heal these wounds is to get a black conservative at the helm to reverse the course of this nation while having the same protections that Obama has enjoyed. Of course the main stream media will have no part of that role but it is results that rules the day and wins the hearts of Americans.
Please vote for Herman Cain. We must have a conservative outsider like him in office.

      • brassia November 25, 2011 at 2:58 pm #

I am appalled by the fact that so called republicans aren’t a bit concerned about the spiraling of our country into abyss either….the selfishness of the republican establishment is obvious..
I am afraid nomination of Herman Cain at this point will mean Obama’s second term….

        • Mychal November 28, 2011 at 8:43 pm #

brassia: that’s unfounded…it is also the exact thought Herman’s detractors want people to have…Herman is only one who can take on obama…

      • Mychal November 28, 2011 at 9:05 pm #

michael: I’m not offended and as you have articulated that is partially true…it is also true that they are using obama’s color as currency to further their own agendas…

    • John McClain November 25, 2011 at 11:05 am #

danbubalo, in looking at the facts, there is no indication those in congress are even on a different page than obama. To suggest they should act, would be suggesting they have a different intent, and there is little or no evidence of this on any large scale, only among the very few, some of whom held to their oaths when elected just two years ago, while many did not. The House could have held the debt ceiling, and forced spending cuts, by forcing the payment of bills in order of precedent, from revenues received, and having to stop expending when the revenue runs out.
There was no excuse to violate the constitution once again, and go further in debt, the deal made carries no watter, because any deal made can always be unmade in the next session.
Only real actions taken in a session of congress count, and the failure of the “gang of twelve” should amply demonstrate it is a simple problem of half the people want what they want, and care not for the price, calling “allowing them to add to OUR debt” compromise, and screaming to high Heavens when fiscal responsible people demand we don’t go deeper in debt, saying we, intending to be responsible, are unwilling to compromise, and therefore no bipartisanship legislation can be passed. If I were to demand we spend 20,000 on a milling machine for my shop, and my wife told me we couldn’t afford it, and I said, just put it on the card, and she replied the only card we have charges 27% interest, and I said I don’t care, put it on anyway, I could not claim lack of bipartisamship, when she seeks a divorce on the basis of my stupidity, yet that is exactly the basis of the anti-conservative claims. They suggest we must have plenty of money because there are plenty of checks still in the check book. Of those who control the issue, the five hundred and thirty six people in congress and the potus, there are perhaps twelve who say that checks in the book mean nothing, it’s the accounting which tells the only truth of the story. They are entirely insufficient to remove the rest of the government, unless We, The People, make it plain and clear, obvious to those dozen or so, they must stand up and claim it, because we as a vast majority, demand it, and will stand behind them to the very end. We haven’t done that, and they are less than a minority, they are mosquitoes as far as their earstwhile “peers” are concerned.

Suppose Obama refuses to recognize the Supreme Court decision and goes about his path to distruction in direct conflict with their rulig. What can be done? Congress is a bunch of weak willies, so we can’t look to them. Eric Holder is the big bud of Obama and does what he’s told, so count the justice department out. Who would give the order to arrest him? Who would prosecute him?

Although I am not attorney or an expert of the law or our Constitution, I do recognize insanity when it rears its ugly head. This president’s behavior reeks of insanity that is destroying our nation. Does such behavior not support grounds for impeachment? He must be stopped!

    • sumitch November 23, 2011 at 12:35 pm #

Roy, I think that Congress thinks that if they do nothing, they can’t be blamed for anything that goes wrong and thereby save them the trouble of having to answer to their constituents come election day. They will take credit for anything that goes right and try to ignore everything else (or blame Bush which Obama has brought to Olympic Status). The logic is that if you don’t do what I want, you are blocking legislation for personal reasons and gain. It’s not even worth considering that the legal citizenship doesn’t want whatever it is that they are up to. Obviously they are of superior intelligence and morals. Why? Because they say so. And if you disagree, you’re blocking forward progress. Rarely does a day go by that I am thankful that I am almost 70 and probably won’t be around to see what happens to this once great nation. Seeing it’s demise literally sickens me. I wish we could be thankful this year for a government of, by and for the people.

Not that it matters a bit, but I’ve written my Representative calling for him to gather others and begin impeachment proceedings. That’s not going to happen either because it might cost them some hispanic or black votes (no racial bias intended; facts are facts). Wrapping themselves in the flag and self proclaimed moral superiority, they went after Clint for a little sex in the oval office, but will do nothng while the nation is in danger.
