‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Significant cuts?

August 1, 2011

We’ve got a $4T deficit. Obama in just three years spending has doubled what the debt was at the start of the Bush administration. With that as a back drop a compromise was reached on raising the debt ceiling.

The compromise would cut $21B from Medicaid and Medicare in 2012 and $42B in 2013 and deep cuts in military spending. The first phase of cuts are supposed to reduce spending by $917B over 10 years, with a congressional committee deciding on the second phase of cuts totaling $1.5T.

The bill proposes to cut a total of $2.4T from the deficit over 10 years, with a congressional committee set up to find $1.5T in cuts through tax reform and other deficit-reduction measures.

In the mean time spending continues to grow. Debt continues to grow. And there’s a wink-wink toward cutting spending at all. At some point down the road a 12 member super group of persons will discuss the next phase of spending cuts. Obama continues to pursue raising taxes even it appears he has abandoned same.

In the mean time, Boehner tells us “it’s not the greatest deal in the world. But it shows how much we’ve changed the terms of the debate in this town. There is nothing in this framework that violates our principles. It’s all spending cuts.”

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had it with Boehner caving in and selling out, then telling us it was either the best he could do and/or he knows it isn’t the best deal but at least he got something.

We didn’t elect people to compromise. We elected them to act in our best interest and in the best interest of America. It is increasingly obvious that they do not understand that and they have even less idea about how to accomplish same.

NO one is asking where all of the cuts are coming from. No one is mentioning that much are of the cuts are based on things that have even taken place yet. For instance, what happens if the there isn’t a draw down of troops in Afghanistan? A significant amount of the spending cuts are based on that eventuality – but what if it doesn’t happen?

I guarantee you, nothing has been accomplished with this bill, apart from raising the debt ceiling. Spending will continue as it has and we’re going to hear we are extremists for wanting true spending cuts. We are the ones footing the bills, our children and grand children are the ones who will be burdened with the increasing debt.

This is all smoke and mirrors. As always they have successfully turned us against one another based on race, income, age, and gender. Obama has successfully stripped more power from congress, by appointing to unelected members of outside committees to be responsible for actions and numerous other issues that Constitutionally are supposed to be the strict responsibility of congress.

As one liberal congressman said, we have been fed a sandwich. But it’s not satan between slices of bread as the congressman said, it’s something that tastes and smells much worse.

It’s time for them to go. Boehner is incompetent and inept. The question is do we have the energy and will to sweep them out as we did in 2010. They are betting we don’t.
