The GOP Shows It’s True Colors

The GOP Shows It’s True Colors

Folks, you’re being setup. I exclude myself, because I’m not fooled by this political MacBeth.

Camp Romney may be bashing Gingrich, but there’s plenty of lipstick to go on their pig as well. We saw what the Rove-Romney machine did to Herman Cain, and we’ve watched how their media marionettes ignored and excluded Jon Huntsman. We witnessed Romney hand-maidens tell the voters of Iowa, that if Ron Paul had won the Iowa Caucus, he was to be ignored and the attention given to the runner-up.

Thus there is a pattern of deceit and subterfuge pursuant to the Republican Party hierarchy. So hellbent and determined is the GOP to have the RINO Romney get the nomination, they are willing to sabotage one of the most popular Congressman in the Republican ranks.

I’m speaking of Col. Allen West, the Congressman from FLorida. The GOP, i.e., the same people who are trying to shove Romney down our throats, in way that is reminiscent of the way they pushed McCain, have redistricted West, who is one certainly one of the most courageous Congressmen we have. Why, would they do that, you ask? Because, they want to make it hard for him to get re-elected, which is a transpicuous acknowledgment that the GOP and the party apparatchiks are not supportive of true conservatism. They are supportive of status-quo left leaning moderates who are able to deceive conservative voters. What the GOP did to Allen West is prima facie evidence of exactly what these people truly stand for.

I have said it before and it bears repeating now. The Republican hierarchy and Karl Rove were blindsided the Tea Party in 2010. They were not prepared for the American people to coalesce in support of true conservatives and reject the good ol’ boys of the party. Remember the venom and vitriol Rove, Charles Krauthammer, and others spewed on Fox News every every evening, belittling and attacking Sarah Palin. Remember Rove’s attacks on Nikki Haley and Christine O’Donnell. Recall their consternation with Sharron Angle as she sought to win Nevada.

The one thing these three women had in common is that they were Tea Party candidates. Rove and the RNC Chief Reince Priebus were furious that Tea Party conservatives in Delaware ousted Mike Castle, who was more liberal than Pennsylvania’s John Murtha. Party apparatchiks in Pennsylvania tried to sabotage Pat Tommey’s early campaign as they openly admitted the reason was because they viewed Toomey as to conservative.

A bit of history. Arlen Specter unsuccessfully tried to recruit Teresa Heinz, (now wife of John Kerry), to run against Rick Santorum in his first congressional bid. Specter with leadership approval unsuccessfully tried to recruit candidates (some Democrats), to oppose Santorum. As president, George W. Bush campaigned against Pat Toomey in support of Arlen Specter. And as a show of appreciation, Specter became a Democrat.

But, I don’t want to venture to far off my point, which is that Romney is not about us, he is about the Washington insiders and the party hierarchy. Romney is not electable over Obama and everyone knows it. It is pure pollyanna to think otherwise.

As I wrote in yesterday’s Daily Rant, Romney is not inevitable – he has in truth not won anything. He spent nearly $20 million to underperform against Gingrich, and Santorum who had left the state early. He actually underperformed in New Hampshire when you take a critical look at the numbers. However, the GOP realizes that many conservatives are so fearful of Obama, that they will take their vomit bags in the voting booth with them and vote for Romney. The GOP doesn’t give a rat’s tail if it is out of loyalty or fear – they care that it is a vote in their column.

The GOP will stop at nothing to assure Romney gets the nomination and you should be asking yourself why that is? You should be thinking that if they will sabotage Allen West, how can we believe them about Romney? I personally, am both amused and nauseated listening to media marionettes and the party apparatchiks proclaim the greatness of Romney. It’s as if they believe there aren’t conservatives who know the truth of Romney. It’s as if some of us aren’t aware of the true purpose for Bush 41, Jeb Bush, and Obama’s unscheduled secret meeting at the White House, after the Alfalfa Club Banquet.

In the final analysis, I’m not saying anyone will ultimately prevail against Obama, but I am saying Romney is the last one we should stick that hope on. Because, Obama “little” is only a little different than Obama.

@Kelso. You said-”First is legalizing not just drugs, but prostitution and gambling. In a perfect world, I would agree, but we live in a fallen world and sinful man will choose destructive behavior that not only harms himself but society as well. We do need laws that define a civil society.” But please tell when being Illegal has stopped the ones bent on doing wrong from doing it? All the “war on drugs” has done is put the US in the position of having 8x the number of Citizens imprisoned then any other country in the world including China, Russia & Iran! Prostitution is illegal & still going strong. If the states had the right to make their own laws we might actually see changes for the better in both these areas. Don’t believe their fear mongering lies about Iran. Yes they are a Muslim country but so is all the Middle East, Indonesia, etc. Even our own Intel people tell us that they don’t believe Iran is building N-Weapons! The fear mongering about Iran is the same thing they did to justify going into Iraq when in reality they had no legitimate reason, they just wanted the oil & money that they make when our country is at war. So please don’t let those things keep you from voting for R Paul. I hope you’ll research the things I’ve said & find the truth out for yourself.
I fear the corrupt politicians & MSM more then I do Iran.

Maybe if we can Get Newt for the nominee, we can get Newt to choose Allen West for the V.P.

That ticket would take Obama out of the White House.Allen West is an awesome person.
    Thank you, Fay

    Mychal,

I hope a lot of your people watched Gretta on Fox, Wed night FEb 1St Lindsey Graham gave the best endorcement for Newt that I have heard. Lindsey said that Congress was too hard on Newt and he ( Graham0 said he has matured and had realized what Newt was doing to get the Republicans back in the House and Senate. He said he thought at the time Newt was leaning to close to Clinton. But he knows now he was not. Graham said being in Congress that you can’t get anyone to work with you and Newt did that even though all of them wre trying to cut his throat. Graham told Gretta that somethng has to change our government and Newt is the only one that can do it. I know Fox will not run that program again, but Graham was really sincere about what he was saying. If something doesn’t change in the capital, we are not far from going down the drain and he said Newt was the best one to change it. Even Hannidy has been taking shots at Newt. Fox is not fair and balanced when Hannidy talks to Mitt for 30 minutes and gives Newt and Rick 15 minitues each. I hope all the American people know that Mitts grandfater had three wifes and the Mormans have their own version of the Bible. No matter what I am voting for Newt. If peole can’t figure out that Newt is the smartest man for the job, then we will end up with Obama again, because Obama will destroy Mitt even with likes of Donad trying to coach him. Thank you for your time and thank you for being here Mychal.

  30. Mychal says:

kelso: those are two very important things for me…

  31. Marilyn says:

This is why I follow Mychal’s Rants. He wants people to “think and research” when it comes to listening to political blab. If I looked inside of his brain, I would see the wheels turning rapidly and gathering all kinds of good data to write about. I trust Mychal and wish he were a Candidate! We have to do some deep searching on each candidate and no matter what candidates “promise” we have to look at political track records and, if any, family values. (I’m looking at how much each wife of Candidate spends on her wardrobe, if there is a wife involved.) I think we have to look at wives of candidates because one of them will be The First Lady and should be the candidate’s ‘best friend.’ Right now, I’m trying to decide who is a viable candidate verses who has diarrhea of the mouth. I’ve also been following some Senators and other politicals. I’m impressed with Rand Paul from KY and Allen West. I’ve just listened to a couple of speeches that they have given and felt invigorated. Yes, they are saying what I want to hear. My optimisim stays strong! It takes a lot of team work and WE will get the job done in November.

  32. Mychal says:

kfs: being a success in his personal life doesn’t make him a conservative and it certainly doesn’t make him worthy of my vote…the idea that anybody is better than obama is not a position I share or that I will support…

  33. Mychal says:

newjerseypatriot: I am voting for Santorum…I will not support romney….we need to advance the tea party movement…

  34. Mychal says:

  36. Mychal says:

jim holmes: a lot of people would…

  37. Mychal says:

christel: I won’t let fear of an obama second term scare me into backing a similar loser…

  38. Mychal says:

marilyn: that’s right…trump trying to hedge his bets…and make it look like he had something to do w/ it if romney wins nomination…that said trump has never been a conservative…but true to the fickle nature of people…as soon as he spoke out against obama…conservatives started lining up calling for him to run for president…you can’t make it up…

  39. Marilyn says:

I read from Fox News that Trump is endorsing Romney!

  40. Christel says:

Great ‘Rant’ for today. I just love Allen West. I was truly hoping that he would be asked to be VP…it would be great to have someone in that position with intelligence and ability to actually do something. I am really disgusted with the GOP. I’ve seen every debate and it’s sickening to see what goes one. I want to hear what all of these people really will do to get us out of this hell hole. I’ve seen the light….the GOP is a ‘better than thou’ group of idiots that think they know best and don’t give a rats a– about what the people may actually want. I’ve said I would support the eventual nominee…I just want Obama out, out, out. If I don’t vote, I’m afraid he’ll get back in if we don’t support the nominee. Sure wish there was a better option. I’m just sick ab

  41. Jim Holmes says:

BTW, since ‘they’ are redistricting LtCol Allen West, I believe he should throw his hat in the ring for President 2012.

I would follow him to the Wall!!!

  42. Jim Holmes says:

I will NOT vote for Romney even if he is the nominated candidate for the GoP. This is the year I say that I will fully exercise my right to vote and not use it to vote for the ‘most likely to defeat’ the incumbent but rather for the ‘most likely to fulfill my expectation’ to lead this Country. Until the GoP begins to listen to the People and stops playing politics with America (and nutless politics at that) … then I am continuing to exercise my rights.

I am a veteran and will exercise my rights. As a veteran I will protect my rights, as well. I will not vote for a candidate who is only a slightly more admirable socialist.

  43. sumitch says:

    ..and he’s pro gun control.

  44. I will vote for Santorum if he makes it to the June New Jersey primary.

I will vote for Romney if he is nominated.

I will actively work to organize a third party if Romney gets elected. Remember, because of the electoral college, it is very difficult to get a third party candidate elected President. However, it is not so difficult in a congressional district where the plurality of people align with true conservatives. All we need to do is find one or two such districts, find a credible candidate, and spend the time and money to get them elected. It almost happened in NY23. A few third party people in the house could hold the balance of power.

    George

  45. KFS says:

Who ever the MAJORITY of the people choose by their VOTES the Republican candidate is far better than OBAMA… To not vote for the Rep is a vote for Obama and the PERMANENT Destruction of this country !!!+

AS to the Romney BASHING: Romney has accomplished all the Political and private tasks he has set forth to do, AT NO CHARGE to the PUBLIC…
HE is MORAL and Caring… HE IS THE MOST PROVEN Conservative when it comes to Budgets and Spending, (Especially of other peoples (our) money…
HE is the ONLY WINNER of the LOT… IF HE is NOT the Winner of the Reps, HE WILL BACK THE WINNER – - WILL YOU?

  46. Kelso says:

I will give Ron Paul credit for being true to Libertarian principles. He does not waver. There are two things that keep me from ever voting for him which are the ONLY two things Ron Paul supporters like about him.

First is legalizing not just drugs, but prostitution and gambling. In a perfect world, I would agree, but we live in a fallen world and sinful man will choose destructive behavior that not only harms himself but society as well. We do need laws that define a civil society.

Second is blaming America’s military presence in the world for 9-11 is beyond the pale for me. That’s as bad as Obama blaming Bush for everything bad in the world. Ron Paul needs to realize that Ahmadinejad is working to bring forth the 12th Imam through a Muslim Caliphate. You can not deal with Iran like you would with non-Muslim countries. The only way I’ll ever vote for him is to get rid of Obama. Obama’s probably doing more than Ahmadinejad to bring about a Muslim caliphate simply by bringing down America.

  47. David J. Carrier says:

Mychael, You’ve done it again. I opposed Romney last election and will oppose him in this election. Your description of him is exact and on target. We have to find a way inside the GOP elite and change a few minds about true Conservatism. Oh yea, Romney is a Progressive as is “Carl Rove”.
Thank you for another well written “Rant”.
    David

  48. Dottie K says:

I so agree with you . . . They took out my choices leaving Gingrich as the last standing. An “erratic” conservative is preferable to decietful RINO! Never have I seen such blatant disregard for the wishes of the American people. Can we speak any louder?

I’m not sure that Gingrich’s defense of being so amazed by the lying that he was dumbfounded as to how to refute . . . seems nearly reasonable to me!

  49. Tony says:

Here is an article I think everyone will find “enlightening” and is where the Tea Party intends to evolve. As a Tea Party member, I find the evolution to be a breath of fresh air>>>>> http://www.conservativepartyusa.com/?page_id=1282

  50. Chris Miller says:

I think a lot of us have already used thhe vomit bag. This entire debate procedure is disgusting. The eleventh commandment given to us by Ronald Reagen had been tossed in to the burning fires. When will we learn that if we do not work together to find exceptional candidates we will end up with another liberal bearing our label in the White House. After all the clowns we have had in the People’s House and as candidates I hardly have enough nose to hold when I do to the polls

  51. JazzJo says:

Mychal – love your rants! We know that you don’t support Romney….who do you like of the remaining canidates?

  52. Tony says:

Oh, just received daily update from NewsMax…..Trump is endorsing Gingrich….in case you did not know.

  53. Tony says:

YOU GOT IT!!!!!!! BULLY BOY NEWT IS BACK AND THE REPUBLICAN OLD ORDER OF THINGS LIKE GRAFT, PORK, WASTE, RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS GOING TO COUNTRIES THAT HATE US….AND MUCH MUCH MORE……IS COMING TO A QUICK DEATH. THIS IS THE REASON THE IDIOT REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT DID NOT ENDORSE HIM….HIS PRESIDENCY WOULD COST THEM WAAAAY TOO MUCH PERSONAL GAIN.

  54. Tony says:

Gingrich is brilliant and most assuredly can crush Obama hands down. Baggage….voters absolutely need to overlook the past. As president, he will be so in focus under the national/media microscope of scrutiny he won’t be able to brush his teeth without it being debated. This said, Santorum is a truly wonderful and genuinely honest and concerned person and family man. And the people think the world of him. However, like Romney, his forte is NOT debating and the National Debates are where it is at as far as who goes to the white house. We do not need the kindest, most religious, best looking, squeakest clean, most wonderful family man, most ideal….to debate the devil on the throne, we need someone with a Vlad the Impaler personality…the very thing that the Republican elitists fear. It will mean goodbye pork, good bye worthless trillions given to countries who hate us and are ready to kill us at first opportunity. That is why the ones who have worked with Gingrich for years tremble at the idea of Bully Boy Gingrich showing up. Not much escapes him. That is why the old establishment with all their greed and inherent corruption have not endorsed him.

  55. James Saxon says:

If Romney is elected, he will prove to be a WORSE President than Obama.

Ron Paul is the only answer.

  56. Sunshine says:

    Mychial,

In your response to Kkristi, you stated, “Allen is pro-abortion and while he and I are friends….”

Since Rep. West spoke at the March for Life Rally in Washington in January and quoted 1Timothy 6:3, on what basis do you say “Allen is pro -abortion.”?

Odd that a March for Life Rally would have a pro-abortion speaker.

    sunshine

  57. Kelso says:

you might get what you wish for. We may split into a three party country. The far leftist Obama worshippers taking the democrat party to the extreme, the Tea Party breaking off from the GOP, and in the Great Big Middle, the new Republican party standing up for all the Big Government, compassionate programs democrats know and love.

The country will be 15% democrat (leftist), 30% Tea party, and 55% Big Government Republican.

If that happens, we will have Big Government forever which means bigger and bigger deficits and more and more czars dictating how we live. And the Constitution will, of course have to be rewritten.

  58. Joe Coffey says:

This is a good article and several of the comments are just as good. However, while I realize that it was written to deal with a specific issue from a specific view (the danger of a romney nomination) I regret that the point was not made that it would every bit just as dangerous for gingrich or santorum to gain the nomination. A vote for any of these 3 is often called a wasted vote, or a vote for bho, or a vote against the country. However, the truth is that a vote for any of these 3 is a vote that will bring harm to the country and also it is a vote AGAINST the Constitution. Ron Paul is not a perfect candidate, but he is the only one that wants strict adherence to the Constitution and he is the only candidate that you can vote for without compromising your conservative principles, at least for those who still have any conservative principles.

  59. Kelso says:

Remember, we are electing a President, not a Pope. We will not be forced to convert to Mormonism if Romney wins the Presidency. But we will be forced to live on Food Stamps if Obama is reelected.

And it could be worse than a Mormon, he could have been a Liberation Theology Catholic. At least Mormons, as a group, are conservative. And they don’t just baptize mass murderers. They believe by baptizing for the dead, they’ll will give the target a chance to receive the gospel in the terrestrial kingdom or something like that. They baptize on behalf of all the dead. Even though this practice is a complete and pathetic misinterpretation of 1 Corinthians 15:29. There can be no doubt Mormonism is a cult. Simply put, Christianity stands or falls on Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Mormonism stands or falls on Joseph Smith, a man. Big difference.

  60. Roy says:

I contributed to Allen West’s campaign and pray he will someday be elected President of the United States of America. As for now, I find it very distrubing that Romney is buying his nomination with his wealth only to loose the election. The GOP has lost its way and only we the people can take it back. Gingrich or even Santorum would be out in front right now if they could have matched Romney dollar for dollar. If Romney is nominated I have a real problem with my principals. Many say it can’t be about religion but the book I read called the Bible says it should be. Hosea 8:4 “They have set up kings, but not by me”. That’s how we got Obama. Let’s not make that error again by nominating Romney.

  61. Drl J.

It is no surprise what Republicans such as Ann Coulter will now do or say. They are part and parcel of the whole CTDAS (Conspiracy Theorists of Arrogance, Denial and Silence) over Obama’s unconstitutional (non natural born citizen) status as US “president.”

Once people sell their souls to the blindness of political correctness as the crowd did in Hans Christian Anderson’s parable of “The Emperor with no Clothes,” then, those people will believe and foment any propaganda.

  62. Ben says:

Romney is running a deceitful campaign. His record is liberal and he has nothing to run on but destruction of others. He and his surrogates simlpy lie because they know most people are ignorant only read the headlines. Since all my candidates have been run out by Romney i now support Gingrich. He has the only “real” conservative accomplishments and the ability to stand up to D.C..

But, if we do not vote for the nominee, whoever, we will re-elect 0bama. I don’t know, maybe that is need for people to wake up and just stop being establishment drones. But, 4 more years of 0bama may actually completely destroy this republic.

  63. Bill Sr. says:

“The Tea Party is not a Party but a movement.” That’s exactly Right!
The liberal progressives recognized that from the very beginning and knew the American people would be drawn to the movement and the principles it was founded on which is why they have not stopped attacking those who have and are continuing to embrace those principles under the banner chosen for them.
Democrats, with full support of the Sorostream media, never dreamed something like this would happen before the second term election of Obamaland was firmly established. By then everything was to be in place for a full blown socialist regime complete with Obama’s benevolent version of his personal Marxists system. They would have an iron grip on all branches of our dying constitutional government.
The Republican Establishment has always been easy pickings for Democrats and was never going to be a problem for them. A media manufactured “majority” of voters have long since been convinced they are fat cat millionaires who want to “kill Medicare and Social Security while exploiting the poor” and are never going to change their ways. The fact is the Establishment never seemed to care or have not been able to explain otherwise.
Also no one had conceived of a group of grassroots “independent” conservatives being able to develop a common set of best principles for governance designed to salvage what was left of our constitutional republic and forcing them upon political candidates as a test of their trust and faith in our free enterprise system.
This was born of necessity by common sense patriots and became a Blitzkrieg of renewed patriotism and personal involvement to fight the progressives with facts, figures, and fortitude but also a fire alarm for the go along to get along Republican establishment. Neither knew exactly how to react to this jet stream of fresh air over the political landscape of America. But, God willing, it is here to stay and must continue to strengthen in order for us to survive the progressive liberal virus being spread by the want-a-be dictator, Obama.
The Tea Party remedy is gaining momentum and both parties and the corrupt system they have established for themselves in Washington over the years will have to deal with what they seem to have forgotten. It’s called a government of, by, and for “We the People”.

  64. Mychal says:

loretta: make that an OORAH for me…Semper Fi…

  65. Mychal says:

sunny: well said…and accurate…he did nothing for the olympics…pee-wee herman could have done what romney did for the olympics…ask his friends to pony up big donations and then sit at the head table…

  66. Mychal says:

kristi: that’s what they would like people to believe…and I don’t know who you are accusing of racism…I didn’t bring it up nor in any way insinuate same…ergo it must be in your mind…Allen is pro abortion and while he and I are friends I cannot and will not support abortion…regardless of whether its called choice or something else…what the gop did was further split the party…and for that I thk them…it provides more evidence of why the gop in its present incarnation needs to be replaced…standard party blah-blah-blah doesn’t work here…

  67. Mychal says:

777denny: I’m not prepared to oppose romney based on his religion…I oppose him because he’s a flip-flopper whose moral compass is whatever it takes to get elected…he will be worst than arnold…

  68. 777denny says:

Should be “was NOT vetted properly…”

  69. 777denny says:

Mr. Obama was vetted properly and neither is Mr. Romney, since I cannot find stories about his Mormon church and how it supports the PLO over Israel and posthumously baptizes mass murderers like Hitler and his henchmen, Communist dictators and other mass murderers before billions of other “Gentiles.” Does Mr. Romney want to own his very own planet one day as Mormonism teaches, while also demanding utter and absolute obedience to their “death vows” of silence about Tabernacle requirements on how to own your own planet. It is one thing to have a Mormon to just about anything OTHER than be POTUS, since their religion and their role with Israel and the claims they make about their inheritance there are questionable at best, and downright dangerous at most. And at this point, it looks as if Rick Santorum, instead of wanting to lead the Conservative movement to defeat RINO Romney, is now only ensuring that Conservatives have NO REAL VOTE this year. History may prove to be very rough on Rick Santorum, since he may well cost the Conservative movement any real chance at beating Obama and getting off the current road to Hell America is on. Thanks for nothing, Santorum!!! Go Newt!!!

See.. this is the stuff that makes Gingrich look .. unstable.

The state senator who you all are blaming for this.. Was a Pawlenty supporter when the lines were being drawn.
Florida passed a no gerry mandering law in Florida.
West dist 22 was the most gerry mandered district in Florida. Just look.
So they did what they could. Col West is by Miami. I would like to see any of you draw a map any other way … keeping in mind.. you cant Gerry mander.
Yes.. it sucks. But nothing was done to get rid of Allen West.It was the best they could do given the new law.
They sured up 29 R seats.

There is plenty to attack Romney on.. this is not one of them.
It looks as ridiculous as the holocaust survivor non kosher food attack that failed.

To make this racist is the Obama route. Grow up.

People are voting the numbers. Fl. Spanish vote went to Romney by a long shot. They did not vote their conscience. Newt and especially Rick should have won their vote. I noticed Newt won overwhelmingly in almost all the areas that were not heavily populated. County by county Mitt lost. Check out the Pratt-Romney Political Family. Mr. I don’t come from politics, just 1609. Why was my family in Mexico? They we breaking US law and had to leave. Gr. Gr. Grandpa had 12 wives. Only, war in Mexico brought them back. The Olympics used to make his name know for this run, had to be bailed out. Mitt the best at getting donations, got millions for rep. candidates, then became one. (with all that $) 4 yrs. ago he sold property, and set up his books and life for the 2012 race. Look at this man that we are being drug into supporting.

loretta: I’m not settling either…there will be no rallying around romney for me…

Right On David. Where is representation from our government elected officials. If they would have known their Constitution and done their job in the first place, MAYBE America could have avoided SOME of the consequences we are dealing with now. Thank God for Judge Mahili and leaders like her as well.

  75. Loretta says:

Well said! HooRah. I love Allen West and would gladly elect him as President of the United States. But the GOP has definately lost their bearings with the American people. As always, it is what or who we are ‘stuck with’. It would be a proud moment to elect such an awesome man. Florida will re-elect Allen West, they are not any differant than the rest of Americans & Republicans. God only knows how he will turn this mess out.
Not settling for status quo. Ron Paul 2012 A true Constitutionalist.

  76. David says:

LTC West appears to be one tough cookie. But he hasn’t said squat about Obama’s eligibility, just like all the others on Capitol Hill who, by their silence, are complicit in Obama’s crimes. If you want to be encouraged, please go to http://www.orlytaitzesq.com and read her newly posted Findings of Fact and Law submitted to Judge Mahili today. They are fantastic. She is one great lady, fighting for our country and for us.

I’m in total agreement Mychal. My catharsis is approaching completion after yesterday’s result.

drj: I argue that we support tea party groups that do not cater to the gop/rnc or the old guard politicians…we vet and promote candidates that subscribe to our philosophy and work to repopulate congress w/ them and then we hold them accountable…we get rid of the likes of boehner et al…we stop listening to the media marionettes and the party apparatchiks…we force the so-called leadership to pay attention and while they’re doing it we oust them too…we stop letting them tell us how to vote…and we stick to it until we succeed…my favorite saying is that “you cannot be afraid to lose if you’re goal is to win”…

  79. Mychal says:

drj: I am in total agreement w/ you…and will the same course…

  80. Dr.J says:

One other quick thought. If Flipper is ultimately the GOP nominee I just flat out will refuse to vote for him despite how much Limbaugh, Hannity etc. preach that we must eventually unite behind the nominee to defeat Obama. What’s at stake here is much greater than uniting behind another moderate Republican. That hasn’t worked out to well in the past. I liked when Herman Cain made his first endorsement “we the people”, maybe that’s what I will write in instead of voting for the lesser of two evils again. “We the People”!

  81. Dr.J says:

I had a difficult time sleeping last night after seeing how Floridians pulled the lever for the RINO Flipper Romney. While I do not have proof of this it seems to me after talking to people on the ground and listening to multimedia exit poll interviews many of the Romney supporters based their decisions primarily on the negative TV/radio ads. I would bet anything that most did not watch much of the debates, go to the websites of Gingrich, Santorum or Paul or do much of any independent research on their own to make an intelligent decision. After all, if “its on TV it must be true”.
Gringrich accurately described the Romney media blitz as “carpet bombing”. While there were inaccuracies on both sides the 65 to 1 ratio of Romney vs Gingrich was sickening.
I remember in one of the debates how Romney was asked about appointing democrat/liberal judges in Mass. and his answer basically was that’s who would get through the approval process. For me that is a terrifying thought as we all expect the next president will most likely be replacing at least one or two Supreme Court Justices, especially if its Obama but as we know Romney is being
ed to slaughter as the sacrificial lamb like McCain was last time. The Republican establishment campaign against the TEA Party and grass roots conservatives is going to be relentless. Ann (I was against Romney before I was for him) Coulter is a prime example of this betrayal of not only conservative but Republican principles as well.
While I definitely agree Mychal that its far from over, one has to wonder in all of this where do true conservatives go to find a political home? Clearly the “establishment” republicans only tolerate us on election day and wish we would go away otherwise. Third party? Historically, this has been a nonstarter that may give one personal satisfaction to “rage against the machine” but so far goes nowhere in practical political power terms.
