The Obamas Christmas Message: ‘It’s Great To Be Them’

I spoke with a person in Joplin, Missouri this morning. You remember Joplin, Missouri, don’t you? It’s the town of approximately 40,000 people that suffered the wrath of a devastating EF-5 tornado on May 22, 2011. The tornado destroyed some 7,500 homes and apartment buildings. Four schools were destroyed, and six more including a college administration building, suffered extensive damage. Over 1,000 people were injured, and 161 lives were lost.

People despise Obama and his family not only because of bad policies and the Obamas’ pernicious mendacity, but also because they are arrogant and disrespectful to the people.

It is nearly a year and a half after the tornado — which had sustained winds in excess of 300 MPH — and Joplin has only approximately 10-percent recovered. The person I spoke with told me that it will be at least 10 years before the town recovers to the level of business it enjoyed before the deadly tornado struck.

Forensic pathologists and coroners were called in to do DNA testing to help identify the body fragments that were found in the storm’s aftermath. In some instances, family members had to wait several weeks for verification.

I’ve made specific mention of the people of Joplin numerous times since their tragedy because it is the least I can do to keep their needs on the front page of the nation’s mind.

But in the summer of 2011, tornados savaged much of the South. Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, Alabama were hit by an EF-4 tornado with sustained winds of 200 MPH. The residents of those towns trail in recovery to Joplin’s 10-percent recovery because their local governments decided they would use the tragedy as an opportunity to require redevelopment juxtaposed to creating an environment conducive to speedy and immediate recovery, as the local government in Joplin did.

Residents in Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, and Virginia were also hit by violent tornados.

There are the people in areas of Colorado and California who were devastated by wild-fires this summer. Many of those people are still displaced.

Of course, there are the people who are suffering in the aftermath of the superstorm Sandy. Residents in Staten Island are still without electricity. Other residents in New York and New Jersey are suffering from the damage caused by Sandy.

But, none of that is going to prevent “Mr. Cool-Breeze Mac-Daddy Take Care of The Least of These and his Mrs. Don’t You Eat That” from going on their $4 million, 20-day vacation to Hawaii.

Look, I’m not begrudging these “play-ahs” a vacation, but they’re supposed to be the leader and his wife. He’s supposed to show concern for the people of America.

Think of the message it could send if he and his family were to suffer this Christmas by enduring their vacation at the White House or Camp David. Think about the message he could send if he had announced from the Oval Office that he and his family were canceling their travel plans and were going to personally help deliver food, clothing, supplies, toys, and necessities to families in Joplin, Staten Island, and Tuscaloosa.

I have made no pretense of despising everything Obama and the so-called first lady (cough-cough) represent. But it would be hard to criticize a person who gave the appearance of actually caring about the people he is supposed to represent.

We have four Americans dead in Benghazi: Americans he allowed to be murdered. We have Fast and Furious which his office helped cover-up. We have the families and friends of the men he allowed to be murdered in Benghazi — as well as the families and friends of the Border Agents who were murdered with guns from his illegal gun-running program — who are still no closer to the truth of what happened to their loved ones than they were when the crimes were first committed.

Think what their Christmas could be like if Obama were to invite these families to the White House for Christmas and not only told them the truth, but also had them as guests of the White House for Christmas dinner and gifts. And I’m not just talking about the immediate families but the extended families and close friends.

The men who were murdered because of Obama left parents, relatives, family and friends behind. If Obama’s wife can host Johnny Depp and other actors for a private, thematic Halloween costume party, they could show these people the courtesy of at least feigned respect.

There are more than 23 million people unemployed with no hope of finding work. One out of every six persons is on some sort of government assistance. Nearly 48 million people are on food stamps. People are homeless, hungry, displaced, and still others feel hopeless. Immiseration is the jacket people wear to stay warm.

People despise Obama and his family not only because of bad policies and the Obamas’ pernicious mendacity, but also because they are arrogant and disrespectful to the people. His minions can play it off that all criticism being based on racism, but that is a hollow accusation that only a few accept as truth.

This person is president and the most beloved presidents were those who understood the misery of the people they were supposed to serve.

The Obamas will celebrate a grand and lavish Christmas while many Americans who have suffered loss of income and home on his watch will go hungry. His family will bask on the riches of tax-payer dollars while and drink wine that costs thousands of dollars per bottle, while the families of Brian Terry, Jaime Zapata, Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glen Doherty weep on Christmas morning as they face the emptiness of their lives without their loved ones. Not even knowing why they were allowed to be murdered.

The people of Staten Island will pray they have electricity Christmas morning; other families in New York and New Jersey will pray they have fresh water and operable bathroom facilities by Christmas. Fathers and mothers will suffer the pain of not being able to provide the kind of reasonable Christmas their families once enjoyed because they are now unemployed. Families in Joplin will wonder if anyone outside of what remains of their town remembers them. Some of the families in Colorado and California will weep as they remember the photo album, lost in the fires, that contained the picture of their grandparents.

Others in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama will try to console their children who lost their pet in the devastating tornados.

But what the heck, our Erebusic leader and his family will bask in the limelight of his sycophants with wine dripping from his lips. Ahhh, it’s nice to be them, to heck with the rest of us.

Meredith. How disrespectful you are to your Aunt Roz. It is good that you mention your love for her, but it is apparent that you do not understand what love is. Love is unconditional. Is your wonderful aunt not allowed in your mind to have an opinion?
“I don’t want you going overboard” “no name calling” It bothers you because you want your aunt to be only what YOU want her to be, no opinion allowed unless it stays within your picture of what you want your Aunt to be? Eventually you will be out of school and will have to face the adult world someday. Your aunt has concerns if she has children, concerns about their lives and their future’s. Yes, he won’t be elected again, but there is plenty of time to do even more damage. It is this type of apathy that has gotten us into the position we are presently in. Cheers to your aunt Roz for not selfishly wrapping herself up in her own little world, what an unselfish aunt you have, she deserves more respect, an apology and a hug from you.

    Irrelevant Tangents

“God created things which had free will. That means creatures which can go either wrong or right. Some people think they can imagine a creature which was free but had no possibility of going wrong; I cannot. If a thing is free to be good it is also free to be bad. And free will is what has made evil possible. Why, then, did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having. A world of automata-of creatures that worked like machines-would hardly be worth creating. The happiness which God designs for His higher creatures is the happiness of being freely, voluntarily united to Him and to each other in an ecstasy of love and delight compared with which the rapturous love between a man and a woman on this earth is mere milk and water. And for that they must be free.” C. S. Lewis

Isaiah 5:20-21 (NKJV) 20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight! Romans 1:28-32 (NKJV) 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

    A Moment of Despair

This last week a football player murdered his live-in girl friend, then drove off to his place of employment and committed suicide in the presence of his employer. I will not honor him or what he did by using his name. The only positive part of this was he didn’t murder his baby or the baby’s grandmother who were in the house at the time. Tragedies like these are beyond our finite minds to understand, and cause us to questioned God with a litany of whys.

Unfortunately this sort of thing happens all too often in our society today. There are 5.1 murders for every 100,000 people in the United States. This number approximates 17,800 murders every year. The vast majority of these victims are nameless faces with their stories relegated to page 13 of the local news paper. But when a celebrity murders or is murdered it is headline news. It makes one wonder if the coarsening of our culture does not place a greater value on the life of the rich and famous than the ordinary guy on the street.

    The Irrelevant Tangent

There may be a truth there, but I think there is a more sinister reason for this sort of news exploitation. When a celebrity makes news it gives the pundits a greater audience to spew their sanctimonious diatribes for the purpose of demonstrating their wit, ingenuity, and superiority to rest of mankind. I say this because in their aspiration to be political correct they fail to go to the real cause of the problem. They hold responsible every sort of inanimate object they can; guns being the thing most often blamed.
    The Truth of the Matter

So, what or who do we blame? Is there one answer fitting all? For fear of sounding like a prig do I dare say it is easier to identify the problem than the pundits tell us? Yes I do dare, because in our culture today when we are confronted with the truth we immediately go into spasms of disgust calling the purveyor of truth names I will not mention in this venue. We would rather look to the inanimate than look at the hearts of men who have been severely coarsened because of the lack of God in their lives and in our culture.
What am I speaking to? For example, how can a pundit on the one hand cry foul when a football player murders his girl friend and in the next breath describe the slaughter of 55 million unborn babies as a woman’s choice. How can he do this? Because the issue for him is not the sanctity of life; rather it is his opportunity to be looked upon favorably by his peers. Am I being unfair in my assessment of the situation? I don’t think so. I ask you, how do you differentiate between a 9mm handgun splattering someone brains all over the wall and a doctor’s needle and forceps poking a hole in a baby’s head and boiling its brain with saline? Reasonable people can’t!

The real problem is addressed succinctly by the prophet Isaiah and the apostle Paul in the above verses. By the reasoning of our own minds we have traded good for evil and bitter for sweet. This cultural coarsening manifests itself with every kind of unimaginable evil, murder being one which Paul listed. We have done much worse than taken God out of the schools; we have taken God out of the hearts of men and replaced Him with a debased mind.

But it is so much easier for us to go off on irrelevant tangents because when we do, the responsibility is never us. If we blame guns for murder and unprotected sex for unwanted babies then the sin is no longer a failing we own. This allows us to live in a sort of make believe world where right is wrong and wrong is right; of course this hypocritically depends on how we want to reason and perceive the circumstances.
Sadly, the moment of truth will come to all men for their sins. For the football player it came quickly as he realize the depravity of his soul and therefore could no longer face life and the consequences which would soon come because of his terrible action. But he is not alone; all of mankind will stand in the presence of God and will either pay retribution or be accepted by God’s grace. There is no if or maybe; it will happen whether you accept it as truth or not.

    What Next:

What are we to do in face of a culture which struggles because it no longer recognizes God as the sovereign creator of universe? First we have to view ourselves with a clarity which comes only through prayer and a love of God’s Holy Word. Secondly, we have to view the world with Godly wisdom identifying Satan as the prince of this world and the leader of all that stands in opposition to God. Third, we have to prepare ourselves to be able to confront evil with good. Fourth, when the elitist of the world tells us to look another way; to look at the environment and the psychological turmoil in the minds of men; we must be ready, willing, and proficient enough to share God’s truth to dispel the lies of human wisdom.

Far too long the church has not been a strong united voice confronting evil. We have allowed the liberal view of scripture to weaken its power to control the minds of men. The church is long overdue in getting back to the fundamentals of faith. Yes I used the word fundamental, and no I am not suggesting we stone adulteresses and handle snakes. But I am suggesting we understand the fundamental issues; God is good and man is depraved in his nature. When we admit this of ourselves and recognize it in each other, then and only then will we begin to understand the problem of a coarsened culture is the lack of God in the hearts of men.

When Cain murdered Able he most likely did it with a stick or a stone. Where is the outcry to ban all sticks and stones?

Let’s stop going off on irrelevant tangents and get back to the basics; man needs God now more than ever.

Mychal, you are so right with this rant. This is exactly how I feel about them. They act more like entitled royalty than anything else and I, for one, do not want one dollar of my tax money taken from my pocket spent on ANY of their lavish vacations. They should have to pay for all of it themselves (and that goes for every government official). Who in this world gets an all-expense paid vacation? I don’t begrudge people (or any president) their vacations but they should be self-funded and NOT 20 days; especially with what is going on in this country! If things don’t change, I think there will be a revolt one day as the people get sick of the Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette in the white house. I certainly don’t feel I am represented by this administration and I’m tired of paying for it.

On another related note, why is Washington still celebrating Christmas anyway? It has been banned from public places and yet the Nobamas have 54 trees??? In fact, NO government employee should get paid time off for a religious holiday anymore; they should use their vacation time. I think the atheists would agree…

Oh, they will reap what they sow (of course we will as well). The poop is going to hit the fan right after New Years will all those little taxes related to the health care bill kick in and many of those hurt the middle class and working poor. And if we go off the fiscal cliff, which it is very much looking like Obama wants to see happen, it will be even worse. And yes, it is a real thumb in the eye that this very arrogant ignorant human being has the nerve to spend 4 million dollars on himself and the wife at Christmas when others are starving in our own country or don't have a roof over their heads.

It is easy to see the effects of the waste, sloth and decadent actions of this cough cough president and Co. in every day life and be irritated, or angry, of overwhelmed, if you're one of those laid off or in other straits, but it is seldom someone has the temerity to suggest it's the president's fault his planned measures to wean us off energy, period, happen to send a fifth the Nation unemployed, all the working people over taxed, and only the government happy with the outcome.

All my life my mother reminded me Harry Truman may have only been a haberdasher, but he did keep "The Buck Stops Here" and live it, on his desk.

The very idea this could be merely bad management is ridiculous, and there are very few willing to call this man in the president suit, on his planned program for "Change you can Believe in".

I left Chicago at 18, in 76, and never looked back. I've known who this man is and what exactly he represents from his emergence in Illinois. I will only say we do reap what we sow, and he truly sows the whirl wind.

The worst of it is there is only one reason for this ongoing depression which will deepen – the deliberate intent of converting this Nation into social democracy by default and debt beyond redemption.
    Sincerely,
    John McClain

I actually think that when we talk about those who don’t have, for whatever horrible reason, Obama licks his chops and thinks, “Good! See what it’s like to be reduced to the third world! countries.” The man is ill and should not be in control of “Power” to lead anything U.S.A. Folks tell me I’m wrong that Obama is an American but being born in Hawaii (U.S.A supposedly) and BEING an American are two different things. Even if DeSouza is right and Obama is carrying out his dead father’s wishes about anti-colonialism, this makes the case of what I say even more in depth – the man is ill. Colonialism was a very long time ago and Obama wants the people born long after to be punished?! How could he possilbly be considered a sane person? This leads into his ability to demoralize and intimidate Americans (street organizer tactics) and take luxurious American tax paid vacations with his obliging wifey to “Rub their ability to do so in the face of ALL Americans – the very bad Colonialists!” Going a bit further, I have to wonder about the sitting Congressmen/ladies who are supposedly U.S. Citizens and where their forefathers came from. If they, too,, were part of those who came to America and “took” the land from the American Indians, what does Obama think of them? Will he not also treat them with disdain and want to punish them? hmm. Even if I back off of the DeSouza idea of Colonialism and Anti-Colonialism, this leaves us with a very dangerous man in charge of the White House!!! Very dangerous!

I very much like and agree with this article. But like so many other pundits, writers, etc. I get the impression that it is thought obama could be talked into (or shamed into) caring for America and her people. Yet we know from his own words and stance on his agenda, etc. that obama is purposefully destroying America and our way of life while at the same time taking advantage of us just because he can (and will)! He could not be more clear in his purpose and plan and while we can hardly fathom it, we see it happening right before our very own eyes! Why would he care about those without jobs and homes and in great suffering when as time goes by, by design we'll all be in those very same circumstances – all but him that is! I'm afraid there is no compassion or "good will toward all" from he and his wife. And I dare say, they are enjoying this very situation that is written so well by Mr Massie!

sunny van zyl: that;s not what I’m doing…I’m working to throw these two out…is that blunt enough…its not to late to cause gridlock and/or impeach them…we cannot afford to wallow in despair…romney was a terrible candidate and karl rove sabotaged the one person who could have brought obama down…that was Herman Cain…I remember some spy baubble head from missouri at the start of the election coming on here to try to counter what I was saying about rove…his goal was that he planned to run for office and thought he would be blessed by running interference here…that didn’t work out…my point is we cannot be quiet we cannot trust every person who claims to be a conservative ande we must divorce ourselves from the gop/rnc…

And for the "other side" of the coin. If not for these articles, they can be afforded the ability to further their agenda.

The only thing that truly keeps them in check are those willing and capable to dig deep and shine a light on the shadows.

They may or may not be reporting to deaf ears (and eyes), but listening and acting on it is more the job of the audience. What we do with the information they give us, determines the outcome.

Example, Watergate, the news of the scandal did not force the issue, citizens and politicians forced the scandal to the surface, by utilizing true reporting to scream for answers, but they didn't scream to the reporters, citizens screamed at their representatives, the people who's careers were on the line.

The POTUS may not be up for re-election, but there are many members of Congress (Senators and Representatives) that will eventually need to count on voter support. Obama is also not immune from Impeachment, but that will require those same members of Congress.

Well put Beverly and you are point on. If anyone was listening he told us how much he hated this country and his plans to change the country. He also wants us to be a country folks in the middle east will not be so fearful of……………..and that truly is a very sick wish, because they hate us as much or more than Israel, and his wish will leave us defenseless and for that, he should be tried for treason and placed in front of a firing squad to be shot dead along with all his co-conspirators. Certainly putting him in jail would not be adequate; a lesson needs to be taught in the event someone else decides to ever try what he is doing again!

Oh sweet Aunt Roz….what do posting these articles do? He won't get reelected again, so it is really a non-issue at this point. I don't want you to look coo-coo, so please focus on that sweet little baby and leave all of this political stuff alone. Nothing is going to change what has happened with the election, and no amount of ranting or posting will change that. I love you so dearly…I just don't want you going overboard with your disgust…No name calling…be the sweet aunt, mother, and grandmother that I know you are….that is what is truly important. I love it when you post Lolly videos and things like that, but these political posts concern me for you. Remember that I love you and I know you are better than these rants.

To the contrary, we need to stand up & be vocal so that when this administration is over, we are prepared with solutions to correct the problems that are sure to take place over the next 48 months, & another great R or I candidate who can heal America, which we surely will need. I think it was Hitler Germany where millions of Jews, Catholics & others were killed, & many were told to & remained silent while this occurred. Never again! For those of you who don't see anything wrong with the Prez & family taking a 3 week $16 Million xmas vacation, days before we go over the fiscal cliff, with people homeless from Hurricane Sandy to mention just a few financial ills of the country, I won't criticize you personally, but I understand that it is that mindset that got us 4 more years!

  26. Gary Thomsen December 5, 2012 at 2:06 pm #

I think the smartest thing the Republican leadership in Congress could do at this point is make a show of reluctantly allowing the Dumocrats to have their way with taxes and increasing the debt to pay for their half-baked liberal ideas. Then, when the Republicans finally agree to let the Dums have their way, make sure that Obama and his cohorts have to take full credit (blame) for what happens. This should ensure a Republican-controlled Congress in 2014, and a Republican President in 2016. That is assuming, of course, that Obama doesn’t declare himself Emperor for life before then.

And this is who Obama really is. He cares nothing about anyone but himself. And yet, many people continue to adore him and sing his praises as loyal members of his “choir.” He displays his attitude right in front of their noses, and they still don’t get it. The message still does not sink in. But it will. Eventually, even the most stouthearted of his “choir” will began to see when they themselves sink into perpetual misery of higher taxes and a decrease in their incomes and standard of living. Sooner or later, the Republicans will no longer be taking the blame. It will be Obama. And even then, he won’t care about the people who have supported him and helped him. Delusional narcissists never do.

  30. Anne Tyler December 5, 2012 at 12:06 pm #

Question Obama, as one brave person did, about why he and his family take multiple lavish vacations each year, and you get blown off “Oh Come on, I’m raising kids here”. So I guess his daughters are used to justify his self-indulgence. I know people with kids who couldn’t afford tickets to a ball game much less anything closely resembling a vacation. Most of us have to conserve gasoline so we can be sure of transportation for vital things like medical appointments and to work if we are lucky enough to have jobs.

Add to those insults that we are sending billions of dollars of aid to China for funding their forced abortions and also to Hamas for funding their terrorist activities (but we aren’t allowed to call them terrorists or it might come back on us). Opening the borders wide, sending invitations to people illegally entering the country providing them generous benefits some residents don’t receive it seems clear to me that Obama’s message is “screw you”.

    Mychal
As bad as Obama, his wife, and his minions are…..they are only the symptom of a much deeper sickness in this country. Obama’s flaws and foibles were well known before the 2008 election. The fact that he failed so miserably in his first four years and was still reelected speaks volumes regarding the mindset of the electorate. We could survive the devastation wreaked by Obama, but what will bring us to our knees is the fact that the leaches have now outnumbered the productive, which is leading to the total destruction of the American legacy. Obama is simply the visible chancre sore on a terminally ill Nation.
Like you, I agree that Mitt Romney is probably one of the most honorable and decent men to ever seek the office of President, but was beaten handily by a usurper passing out free ice cream. I wish I could see a silver lining in all of this, but alas, it seems more distant than ever. I’ve never been a quitter, but it feels like we’ve reached the point of no return and it’s become impossible to ignore the reality of our situation. Is armed revolution becoming our only viable option?
I will continue to rely on your wisdom and that of those who are like minded to try and maintain some level of dignity. I will always believe that we are right.

    • Mychal Massie December 7, 2012 at 9:35 pm #
