What If Obama Was White

For nearly four years, criticisms of Obama’s policies, lack of business experience, and Marxist proclivities have been labeled as racists attacking him because he’s black. And, of course, he has done nothing to defuse those ridiculous allegations. But let’s flip these allegations over for a moment.

If a white man with no business experience of any kind, on any level, were elected president and his economic plan increased government spending, increased government intrusion into private business, and increased taxes on the so-called rich–what would criticism of him be because he is white? If this same white president employed failed Keynesian economic strategies which resulted in his increasing our total national debt more than the first 41 presidents combined, in less than three years of his first term in office–would criticism of him be because he is white? If this hypothetical white president were driving us off an economic cliff from which economists say there is no return, would criticism of him be because he is white?

If, in less than his first full term, this hypothetical white president, increased food stamp spending 100 percent–would calling him “the food stamp president” be because he is white or because he is a dismal failure? If the increase in Defense Spending and Transportation Spending accelerated 11 percent each in his first three years, if Medicaid Spending increased 27 percent in his first three years, and if Food Stamp Spending increased to $110 billion in his three first years would calling him “the food stamp president” be because he is white? If food stamp recipients increased by over 14 million people in his first three years raising the total number of recipients to over 46 million, would disapproval of his economic policies be because he is white?

If this hypothetical white president’s white wife took lavish vacations, went on over-the-top spending sprees, and behaved in ways that were categorically inappropriate–would criticism of her be because she is white? If millions of jobs were lost under this white president, if millions of people became unemployed under him, would criticizing him be unfair because he is white? If the true unemployment number under her white husband was above 10 percent for 40 straight months, would criticism be unfair because he is white?

If the white hypothetical FLOTUS spent $50,000 in one afternoon at one of the most exclusive, exotic lingerie shops in the world and spent $15,000 a day to use the same makeup man Oprah Winfrey uses–would condemnation of her be because she is white? If this hypothetical white FLOTUS falsified travel documents, fraudulently listing her daughters as “senior advisors” so that American taxpayers (millions of whom are unemployed) would be responsible for footing the bill for them–would criticism of her be because she is white?

When this essayist harshly and continually criticized President George W. Bush for his spending, for his determined efforts to have amnesty for illegal aliens, for his Medicare Prescription Program, for No Child Left Behind, and for his Highway Bill–to mention just a few–was it because he was white? When we threatened to withdraw our support of him if he did not curb his spending was it because he was white?

I could go on and on but I’m sure you get my point. Everything Obama has been criticized for I would criticize a white president for, and so would practically every other journalist who felt about these issues as I do. And my record shows, it wouldn’t matter if the president were Democrat, Republican, white, chartreuse, male, female, or frog–why would it matter if they are black?

The truth is that it doesn’t matter to most people nor should it matter to the rest. Race is simply the tool used to bludgeon the opposition into silence. Specific to that point, if we are racists for legitimately criticizing the Obamas, what are the very same people who called Condoleezza Rice racial epithets but never criticized her work? Just what should they be called? What do you call those who viciously malign Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas with every conceivable racial epithet known, not because of his judicial decisions, but because he dares to be a black conservative?

    Hello Mychal,

Lets get straight to the point, if Obama had been white, he would never have gotten that far much less ever been heard of by the vast majority. He most likely would have been ridiculed by the populace. Also, to abuse the use or misuse of race to manipulate the ignorant and to make the whites afraid to say anything because of being called racist is just plain racist, period.

I have some quotes that I am pretty sure you have already read.

“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.” — Thomas Jefferson

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.” — Thomas Jefferson

“My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.” — Thomas Jefferson

“To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.” — Thomas Jefferson

Please continue to be honest, and truthful because it is going to take strong Americans to oppose what is in the government at this time. It is not just about the Obama’s but also about Nancy Polosi and the additional people that he has appointed in certain positions in our government that we also need to fear. What is being done to our national budget is called misappropriations of funds. This is because he absolutely has no idea of how to run a business much less how to run a government. I am certain that if he remains in office that we will see the last of what America is and our Constitutional rights will become a moot point.

It will take strong Americans to show the truth to the ignorant who are listening to the spial he is spewing, which most of the time makes absolutely no sense anyway.

    With sincere regards

I really could care less what color Barry is. I loathe him for so very many reasons. and skin color is NOT on the list. I love what Alan West, Condi Rice, Mychal Massie, Kevin Jackson, Marco Rubio and Suzanne Martinez stand for. Not because they are of different ethnicity than myself. Rather, because they managed to get off the plantation.

If Condoleezza Rice had run for President I would have voted for her! I feel you are way off base when you call people racist about Obama, I have not heard that so much as I have what a horrible job he is doing. Our schools are worse now than the invention of public schools, why has that not been fixed? Where is all the money going taken in daily for all the lotto’s? That was suppose to help the schools! Why has there been no effort what so ever to repay the money stolen from Social Security?
I hear the blacks using more racist comments than anyone and even on T.V. when some people were polled in front of the welfare office they said they were voting for Obama because he was black, and no other reason. Well, one fellow did say he was there to get some of those free Obama bucks!

    • Mychal June 22, 2012 at 10:20 pm #

vants anseth: first of all I suggest you reread what I wrote…I have never called anyone racist pursuant to obama in the context you assert…I would not vote for dr. rice because she is pro-race based affirmative action and she is pro-abortion…public schools are in the state they are for a plethora of reasons not least of which because of poor teaching and what the type of atmosphere and programming in same…I’m sure you can look into where the lottery money goes…and your last paragraph has been well documented by many including myself…

“I say again, human beings have no Races–just Ethnicities. Skin color in humans is NOT a racial characteristic. If it were, as an example, a “Black” man and a “White” woman could not reproduce. We need to stop using this false analogy of “Race”, once and for all. There are no Races in humans. The last different specie of a human was the Neanderthal, and they went extinct.”
I think you are being Politically Correct with that statement just as modern scientists are that say the same thing. If you were to say that the words Species and Race were the same thing and interchangable then yes we are all the same species naturally. But race to me defines the obvious differences in human populations and to pretend that they don’t exist, like you can’t tell the difference is laughable and being PC to the extreme.

The funny thing is, and I think someone already said this, is that he is not black. He is of mixed race, which I was thinking he could use as an advantage, because he would be able to say he knew what it was to feel the sting of not belonging to any particular group, as I have heard people say through my life. What an opportunity he had to make a difference, and show that race wasn’t the important thing, but that the man was what made the difference. Oh wait, I guess he did do that, in some ways. He has shown that the man does make the difference, and it isn’t pretty.

    I agree wholeheartedly with OXCO.

People are so superficial, and sadly that is a part of human nature.

I don’t live in Arizona or New Mexico, but both of those states have Female Governors, Republican mind you. Why does Gov Jan Brewer receive so much grief from Obama about her stand against ILLEGAL aliens and the border patrol, but Gov Susana Martinez, who is a conservative Hispanic and has the same political views is never buffeted by the news media or the Feds. BO has never opposed her with scathing remarks as he has Gov Brewer. It boils down to superficial thinking and a persons race.

If Obama were white, he would never have been allowed to be a candidate for president much less the Senator of IL. His sordid background, well searched and proven, would have prevented such. Anyone being of the Communist Party, New Party, having connections with such parties and people, not considered a good risk for leading or representing The United States of America. Not being a natural born citizen would have been a big NO NO factor! Just that simple.

I tire of the race debate constantly thrown in our faces. When I look at Obama I do not see color, I see a socialist, marxist hell bent on taking this country down.

I am frustrated that if you criticize him you are called a racist. What I am sick of is ‘white America’ is afraid to stand up to him because of his RACE.

Liberals saw his color and voted, not his qualifications to be president. Which is more racist? Those that vote because of his color or those that vote because of his qualifications?? Hello??

If he had been white and ran on those poor qualifications, I don’t think he would have been elected. We have got to stop tip toeing around the race issue, being afraid to just look at the qualifications, experience and character of the candidate. Then we will be free from racism, but I am afraid the liberals will always try to stir the emotions and I must admit a lot of blacks (Sharpton, Colin Powell, Morgan Freeman, Holder) have used this to political gain setting us back many years.

So who is more racist, a majority of blacks who will vote because he is black or those who will vote based on his complete mishandling of this country??

According to the Left, if you’re not one of them, you can’t be black — at least, not by their standards. But then, the socialists & communists have been trying to subvert the black community in America for the better part of a century, as I learned while I was researching my book on Jackie Robinson & the ’49 Dodgers. Trading one set of injustices for another that’s even worse is a deal that an old baseball man like Jackie would never make.

  22. Wakinyan June 12, 2012 at 3:52 pm #

Exactly right Mychal! Carpenter is correct too. People are not paying attention to the important things. They are living shallow, shortsighted lives that pay adulation (and millions of dollars) to movie or TV celebrities, sports “heroes” or stars and other miscellaneous BS that means nothing. Nothing that is except our collective failure as a nation of wise and moral people our Founding Fathers unanimously agreed would be necessary if the inspired style of government they set in motion were to survive. The brain-dead ignorance, slothful complacency, and fearful political correctness of millions of Americans is what the scum that have been ruining this country for decades depends on. And it has worked wonderfully well for them. They keep getting elected over and over even though they are the ones creating the problems, which they conveniently exempt themselves from.
The American People must wake up to the fact that it is character, honesty, and actions that matter. Not flattering words or promises and an ability to give speeches or smile and slap people on the back in pretend friendliness.
Skin color should not even enter into the consideration of any thinking person when choosing whom to vote for to represent their interests. But for many it does and that is played on by unscrupulous, lying frauds including ones in the media, to incense people that will not or cannot think for themselves and has been a great factor in bringing us to the verge of plunging into the dust bin of history of once great nations. It seems all those in positions that could actually do something to stop obama and his henchmen/women are afraid to call his actions for what they are and much of that fear certainly stems from not wanting to be labeled as “racist” by obama himself or his supporters. If The People will not stop allowing this despicable race card to be played against them, the ultimate demise of our Republic of individual freedom is certain. I greatly dislike sounding so negative but there it is!

  26. StandsWithABeer June 12, 2012 at 3:05 pm #

One of the reasons racism is abominable is because it addresses a man or woman at their core. Since it is absolute and easily accessed, it is a convenient platform for ridicule. It is said that, in an argument, he who shouts the loudest is the one who is the most wrong. This is like the Race Card. Playing it shows who is wrong. Race does not matter: *ethnicity does matter*, because it relates to the cultural issues of the day, and this includes “politics”. As we know, “politics” decides who gets what, in almost any society. One can be brown-skinned and still be ethnically, let’s say, Chinese, or Caucasian, or British, or German. Similarly, one can have pale skin or yellow skin, and be ethnically African–let’s say, Nigerian, or Zulu.
Addressing obama’s ethnicity is a conundrum, since it is enigmatic and seemingly falsified and covered up. Who can tell? We don’t really know who this man is.
Ethnicity in a politician is a *defining quality*, and should be vetted by the electorate before their vote is cast, so they will know WHOM they are voting for, because all of this candidate’s policies and positions will be dictated by his ethnicity to a very large degree. Makes sense?
One large reason obama gets away with so much is that he has obfuscated his ethnicity to such a degree that blame is easily subrogated to race-calls, opening the defensive ground against “racism”–not where it should have been. obama is a master at this. Don’t you see? This also defines the Democratic party as a whole.

The growing problem with racism is that we, who are not of the Black race, are a bunch of wusses..too intimidated to speak up, but more importantly, speak the truth. However, they will speak loudly and lie while we tuck our tail and are willing to lose our country because we a fat and happy, selfish, got to have every new toy or anything for that matter NOW, never have spare time, loose morals, phone hugging, “whatever” is the answer for everything, (meaning you don’t even know enough to make a reasonably intelligent comment) country of people. I’m over 65; I mention this to show that I have seen other POTUS’. But THIS one has me flabbergasted. Who, in their right mind would have voted for this man, much less support him now? American voters had better educate themselves about their government before it is too late. It almost is. Read some books, take a course–something. This ignorance voters demonstrate by whom they elect must not continue. Specifically, I have seen that those who are elected are those that promise the most. They promise to give heat without fuel. Input and oversight from the electorate is that fuel, and most people simply no longer think about the “loaded weapon” they put into office after the election, expecting it to “fire at will” with perfect aim. It doesn’t work this way. Our democratic FORM of government REQUIRES PARTICIPATION BY THE ELECTORATE. Please get involved and stop this stupidity. One od the main concerns the Founding Fathers had was uneducated voters, electing blindly away. It has come to pass.

I can truthfully say that I am not a racist. If I were, would I be reading and following the great American, Mychal Massie? I thank God for Mychal and his tireless efforts to keep us honestly informed.

Would I have preferred Herman Cain for the Republican nominee? Yes! Would I still support him if he was in the running? YES! Would I support Allen West? Absolutely YES! Would I support Condoleezza Rice? Yes!

I would’ve wholeheartedly supported Colin Powell, as a candidate, if he had chosen to run, but when he came out in support of Barack Obama, I felt that had to be a racist statement. Powell is a great American and he is too smart to be fooled by Obama. His decision had to be sacrificing his his own knowledge and common sense in order to to support one of his own race. I could accept this if Obama had American interests at heart, or was just a mediocre president, but we all know he is a bad president, and I know Colin Powell is smarter than I am. If I see it, he does too, and that is disappointing.

Never in the history of our nation have so many handlers behind the scenes exploited race to the extent that Hussein’s handlers have done. If this is not defeated by November, we as a nation will have allowed our feelings to overrule our common sense, quite possibly ushering in the beginning of the end for this once great nation. Mychal, please please please keep banging the drum for true Americans everywhere! God bless you and keep you!!!

Okay, I re-read the article. Ignore my first response…..well, the suck part :( I should have coffee before I make comments, LOL.

If he were white, I’m afraid he would have been booted out of the Oval Office a long time ago…..the race baiting/issue/card reallyyyyy does need to stop. We are all HUMANS. As my dad use to say “we all eat, sleep & poop the same as everybody else, I’m no better than any other person and they are no better than me”, LOL.

betrayed: I say it again…if he were white hillary would be president…

  34. Elizabeth June 12, 2012 at 1:30 pm #

    Great writing, great comments!
OK, it was obvious to me that color was going to be an issue when he landed in the White House. I cringed at the thought of this man in office because our society is so skin color oriented.
Where does it stop? He gets whatever he wants because he can manipulate the press, staff, and constituents by pulling out the race card.

    • Mychal June 23, 2012 at 11:18 am #

elizabeth: he doesn’t have to manipulate them…they agree with him…his color only matters because of his politics…btw…are you at ecu in beaufort, nc…if so my firend and I just spent the week in beaufort…we were in the outer banks on harker’s island…

  35. Ronald Lyster June 12, 2012 at 1:29 pm #

Excellent rant! As has always been the case, Democrats are a party of racists. Without race and ethnicity baiting the Democrats lose every time. No Democrat desires a “color blind” society – that would surely hearken their ultimate doom.

Unfortunately, the sting of the term “racist” is being lost by its absurd over-use.

The Obamanation would very likely not have been selected as the nominee if he were white. He was such an ‘unknown’with such a short-term political record that no notice would have been taken of him.

History will show that he has undoubtedly been, hands down, the absolute worse President our nation has ever had in the whole of our existence. Still, the citizenry has to take part of the blame. Although I did not vote for him – we, as a nation, elected him.

I pray God will show mercy on our nation, that Obummer’s days in office will be over after the election and that the new President will be able to regain the respect the Office should have and rebuild our nation.

sharon tomas: once again i repeat that if obama were white hillary would be president…

  37. Bruce June 12, 2012 at 1:02 pm #

Apropos of what Jim and Carpenter stated so accurately, here is an excellent brief article that appeared in a Czech newspaper a while back….covers the subject rather nicely:

from CZECH REPUBLIC OBSERVER……”The danger to
America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting an
inexperienced man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama Presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their President. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools
that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack
Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their President.”

    • Mychal June 23, 2012 at 11:23 am #

bruce: that sums it up perfectly…

  38. Jim Holmes June 12, 2012 at 12:46 pm #

‘Racist’ means money and power for those who convince others of its truth. Whether it occurs or not … speak it long enough and loud enough and you soon have re-written history and you have believers. To me, the high percentage of black voters who voted for Obama (96%???) which was far in excess of normal voting patterns looks racist. Apparently it didn’t matter that Obama is faux-black with zero credentials. He talks pretty, when he has his teleprompter. If those voting demographics repeat this year, it will be hard to convince me it is because of anything but the color of his skin.

On a larger scale, I feel what hurts this country more is citizen apathy. Which, on its own, allows cries of racism to be believed, voter fraud to be ignored, unconstitutional acts to be passed, American prosperity to be bankrupted. What are voter turnout numbers … 35%? These are pitiful numbers and a blatant disregard for our Constitution and America. We get what we tolerate!!!

I mean NO disrespect, y’all, but he would STILL SUCK…..excuse my choice of words, please. It shouldn’t matter the color…..character is what is important, IMO. This fella has no character….or ethics…or compassion….or…well, GOD….that poor man needs Jesus Christ in his life. God will lead him, but he closes his eyes and ears to him. I pray for his soul….he needs prayers more than I do.

    Take care,

betrayed: I mean disrespect when I say he does big time…he is evil and contemptible…and I’m counting on his trolls that monitor this blog tell him I said so..and while they are at it they can tell him I said his hateful racist wife is the most disgraceful excuse for flotus in history…

  40. ellen June 12, 2012 at 12:43 pm #

Excellent!! You really get it right. Actually the criticism might be stronger if he was white. Amazing how many are not willing to criticize cause they are afraid of being called racists.

    • Mychal June 23, 2012 at 11:28 am #

ellen: afraid they are…which is in part my point…if he were white what would we be called for criticizing him…

  43. Carpenter June 12, 2012 at 12:26 pm #

I have a lot of white acquaintances, and I call them that because I balk at calling them friends, that are so ignorant, naive, passive, stupid, whatever you would want to call them that they know little or nothing of the topics dicussed here. The only news they watch is mainstream, and that is irregular . Mostly it is American Idol or sports for them. They seem to think everything is hunkydory and “of course obama will be re-elected, he’s done a fine job hasn’t he? And what are you a racist?” Sadly a large percentage of Americas population really are stupid in my opinion.

    • Mychal June 23, 2012 at 11:34 am #

carpenter: being as generous as I can I say that at the very least a large percentage of the americans are apathetic and blissfully uninformed eager to ahve others think for them…

  44. Bruce June 12, 2012 at 12:17 pm #

Moot question Mychal……if he were white, he would not have been elected president. (“White Liberal Guilt”)
