‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Whoopi Goldberg and Pope: Both Wrong

October 1, 2015

Stupidity is a deadly disease, but pompous stupidity is not just deadly but it is communicable, and therefore should require quarantine. Consider Whoopi Goldberg for instance.

Goldberg has declared: “This is the first time since probably [Pope] John XXIII that I have been reinterested and reinvigorated, because this guy, you know, he read the book. He get’s it.”

The “guy” Goldberg was referencing was Pope Francis, and the “book,” was the bible. I’ll get to Goldberg’s “approval” of this Pope in a moment, but let me first ask the question of how Goldberg would know what the bible said even if in fact the Pope interpreted it correctly? Which for the record, he [the Pope] has not.

Allowing that Goldberg at some point in her unGodly life even read the bible, one doesn’t read the scriptures and then say what you think it says. You read the bible and say that is what God says irrespective of whether or not you immediately grasp the full meaning of what you just read.

Goldberg’s elation and applause for this Pope stem not because the Pope is a truthful servant of God, but rather because the Pope invokes none of the God of scripture’s condemnation of sin and call to righteousness.

Goldberg, who as I wrote in 2004 “was [seen] on a street corner in Washington, D.C., brandishing a coat hanger, claiming [the hanger] to be representative of back-ally abortions.” (See: Whoopi Goldberg’s Despicable Performance; 7/13/2004) Apparently coat hangers weren’t that prevalent nor were back-alley abortions because Goldberg is alive today. But I digress.

This Pope earned Goldberg’s approval because as she interpreted it the Pope said: “You know, quit hurting women’s feelings about having gotten an abortion. I don’t want women to get abortions but I understand why they do.”

That is a specious interpretation by Goldberg. The fact is that God Himself doesn’t want us to sin and even understands why we do, but He doesn’t forgive us of same except through Jesus Christ His Son.

Goldberg, like most of her kind, want to engage in behavior that is antithetical to how God directs us to live and to do so with impunity. Abortion is the most selfish act a person can commit. It is a one-sided argument in which the mother for selfish reasons murders her unborn child because she is in school and would have to drop out to raise the child; or the child’s father was no good, fear of being ostracized by her family, or she’s not ready to have a child, ad nauseum. The list of reasons for murdering the most helpless and most vulnerable persons on earth is legion; but at the end of the day the murder of unborn children by the very ones they would expect to protect them is nothing short of monstrous.

Goldberg is concerned about the feelings of women, but what about the feelings of the child the woman had ripped from her womb in a vacuum cleaner hose and the child’s body parts bartered and sold to the highest bidders?

The Whoopi Goldbergs of the world love to quote John 8:7, where Jesus referencing a woman taken in sin, said: “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.” But they conveniently omit John 8:11 when Jesus told the woman to “go and sin no more.”

The Whoopi Goldbergs of the world would believe a person can live their life any way they chose without consequences, (consequences that cannot be fixed by a shot or pill for infection and/or a good psychiatrist at any rate).

Their favorite verse to quote is Matthew 7:1 (not that they could find it in the bible if they were threatened with a gun) where Jesus says: “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” But here again they conveniently omit the rest of Matthew 7, not least of which is Matthew 7:16-24. And it goes without mention that Goldberg and/or her kind have no knowledge of 1 Corinthians 6:2-3 where the apostle Paul states under inspiration of God through His Holy Spirit that we “shall judge the world.” People need to read their bibles and understand what it is to truly be a born-again believer, and what God through Christ has for us in eternity.

Goldberg quoted the Pope as saying: “I don’t think you need to be obsessed with homosexual people, I don’t think that’s what we need to be thinking about. I think we need to be thinking about how do we make our church better? How do we make it more inclusive?”

The truth is that you make the church better by adhering to God’s word and preaching Godly living. Goldberg and her kind ignore Romans 1:18-2:16. And of course they ignore Leviticus 18:22-30; Leviticus 20:13. And we make it inclusive by welcoming sinners for the purpose of salvation.

Goldberg and her kind applaud this Pope because in him they see one who does not hold fast to the truth of God. In him they see someone who they believe will not censure their abominable behavior.

Too bad Whoopi, just like you were wrong with your coat hanger back in 2004, your assertions with respect to what God allows (Pope or no Pope) are even more wrong.
