‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Rachel Jeantel Doesn't Need Help Like This

July 24, 2013

Liberals and the well-meaning blind in search of something to do fail to realize that there are times that doing nothing is doing something and that sometimes seemingly harsh responses are called for if things are to improve.

Such is the case with Rachel Jeantel the illiterate girlfriend of Trayvon Martin. While the “blue dress” she will forever be associated with was her abhorrent performance on the witness stand, I submit what is being done to her in the aftermath of same should be an indictable offense.

Jeantel cannot read cursive and the block letter printing she can read I’m betting is at best on a fifth-or maybe sixth-grade level. Yet during an interview (read exploitation) with her on, I believe, a CBS affiliate she was informed that two colleges had just offered her scholarships. I know liberals think that is a good thing as will the well-meaning blind, but what Jeantel really needed was a kick in the behind and intense literary instruction. She’s 19, still in high school, and can barely read. If she cannot read cursive it stands to reason she is not doing well in math or science, and I would doubt she has heard MacBeth used properly in a sentence more than a half-dozen times in her entire life — if that.

All the attention and fawning she is receiving from the media is not helping her. It is reinforcing to her that her way of doing things works. It’s kinda’ like a monkey. Give it a banana every time it throws its feces at you, and after a while anytime it wants a snack it will throw pooh at you.

Pompous leftists like Piers Morgan can fawn that they’ve learned a lot about her, that she is not what we saw on the witness stand, and that she is smart. To which I would respond “no he didn’t, yes she is, and street smart doesn’t count.” I would further point out that her performance on the witness stand was intended to showcase her at her best. What is she like when she isn’t trying to put her best foot forward?

The bottom line is that they aren’t helping Jeantel nor those like her. They are hindering them by wrongly signaling to her/them that they’ll go far without the benefit of marketable education, marketable social skills and manners, and marketable employment skills. One last thought. If she is so much more than I certainly believe she is, why doesn’t Morgan, or some of the others using her for ratings, hire her to be part of their staff (and I’m not talking about their household staff)? Why don’t they offer her a job as part of their television staff as a means of earning extra money while in school? And even better yet, since they are of the opinion that she is so different from what we saw on the witness stand — why don’t they offer to help her learn to read and write?

The answer is they won’t because as long as they pretend to praise her as being even what she herself must know that she isn’t — they won’t have to do anything but condemn conservatives for not giving her a chance.
