Duplicitous Double Standards
MY DAILY RANT:
I was just curious if there was a live-aide concert for the communities and families who suffered unimaginable lost from the storms that ravaged much of the country? Have you heard about any of the hollywooders holding marathons or auctions for those who suffered devastating lost from the weather outbreaks? Maybe you heard something I missed – because I’ll be honest, apart from a few athletes and sports organizations I haven’t heard anything about the usual suspects stepping up. Most of the major news stations aren’t even talking about the people and damage anymore and if they are it’s barely a blurb. Why, how can this be? How can the “let’s have a concert to raise money” crowd not be eager to help out? By this period of time after katrina – they had bastardized bush and scheduled events. But these people go w/out anything. We saw the same thing w/ those areas that were devastated by snow storms two winters ago. Where has obama been? He’s barely done a photo-op at the scenes. Don’t people in the midwest, Oklahoma, and in the south deserve the same outpouring of relief and assistance that the congressional black congress, the program hosts, and publications demanded for the victims of katrina? Apparently they do not. It offends me that such duplicitous double standards exist and no one bothers to point it out. It’s just one more unambiguous example of a feckless administration capable of lies and dishonesty, but not much else.
