Kunte Kenyan is clueless
Once again this morning we saw Obama at his delusional worse. First of all this entire debt ceiling melodrama is a dog and pony show from which nothing will come. The nation is in financial free-fall while congress and Obama are grandstanding and pontificating as if that will solve things. The thing that has become transpicuously apparent is that neither congress nor Obama have a clue per what to do, nor the cojones to do it if they did.
But, I reserve my harshest condemnation for Obama. He is the president – it is his job to come up with a plan, not pass the buck to congress. He is the leader and he has offered zero leadership. Does he actually believe we do not need budget studies or a balanced budget amendment as he just said? Because if he does, why did he spend our tax dollars for a commission to study the budget, whose recommendations he summarily disregarded and dismissed.
He said that he was proud to have subjected congress to scrutiny. Is that the function of the president, especially in the time of financial crisis? Is that leadership? He claimed that most everything he has submitted to congress has been traditionally bipartisan – is that what he calls his healthcare lies, is that what he calls TARP? Perhaps thats what he calls the automobile industry takeover and the financial takeover, and the war with Libya – oh, wait, that’s right – he bypassed congress in those instances. Which led to calls for impeachment from members of his own party. Even the ACLU threatened action pursuant to his violation of the War Powers Act.
He said this debt ceiling discussion should have been taken care of earlier. Excuse me, but isn’t he the president? And what about the budget that hasn’t been passed for over 800 days, and the new budget he submitted that was like something out of fantasyland? He accused congress of running up the credit card, pointing fingers at Republicans – which is about as dishonest as it gets. His party owned both houses of congress from 2006 and they owned congress and the white house the first two years of his term. Conservatives blasted Bush as a spender, but Obama has increased the deficit by $2 trillion dollars, while costing Americans more than 2 million jobs. Then we got to watch him laugh and joke at a jobs conference that “shovel ready jobs weren’t as shovel ready as he thought.”
Under him public debt has grown at a rate of over $4 billion a day. It went from $10.6 trillion to $14.3 trillion.
He once again spoke of shared sacrifice while he, his wife and family are living like royalty on what amounts to taxpayer welfare. His wife has the largest staff of any FLOTUS in history. His staff has more people making over $150K than in any presidency, at a time the average income of Americans in the free market is approx. $50K. He speaks of shared sacrifice and condemns corporations that own and use corporate jets they pay for – he has spent $100s of millions since taking office jet-setting and campaigning with Air Force 1. It costs taxpayers nearly $200K per hour for Air Force 1 alone. He took a staff of 500-600, plus no fewer than 10 jets, planes and helicopters, plus vehicles, etc. to play “Kunte Kenyan goes to Ireland.” We’ve heard numbers ranging from $7 million to $11 million for he and his family’s Hawaiian vacation.
He claimed the debt ceiling problem was manufactured in Washington. What on earth? Is he stoned? Is this how he views this crisis? On Monday he told us it was a significant problem that we the voters should just shut up and let the professionals handle – now today he says its not really a problem – at the same time saying it isn’t an abstract problem. Well, what the heck is it?
Folks, it’s time for us to give this guy his walking papers. He has no credibility. He is holding orchestrated press conferences in an attempt to sell us on his newest round of lies. It worked for him when he forced his healthcare bill through, so surrounded by the same cabal of liars as then, he is attempting it again.
He’s not serious about crisis. If he were, he would say we are making deep cuts that many will not like, but we must cut spending, we must balance the budget and that he is going to make the hard decisions. But instead -he’s pointing fingers, laying blame, and holding staged press conferences in attempt to con the voters again. If the Republicans were serious they would refuse to raise the debt ceiling, they would insist on deep cuts, and they would be intractable on both positions.
Obama is not showing leadership, but then we have known from the beginning that he was the last person we could expect to show leadership – but we obviously we cannot count on leadership from congress either.
