This Easter Let Us Be Resolute — Sunday Thought For The Day
As Easter approaches we witness continued efforts to not just suppress the vocal expression of Christianity, but the efforts to reduce Christianity to an intolerant antediluvian system of beliefs that have no place in today’s so-called enlightened society.
Those who tried to shroud their contempt for Christianity in a veil of political correctness were outraged that the late Rev. Billy Graham was to lie in honor in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol are not alone in their attempt to remove any and all reference to Christianity from the public square.
There was also the church that was recently ordered to remove the name of Jesus in an advertisement for Easter because as it was argued, the name of Jesus is offensive to some. There are churches who are threatened with legal action if they refuse to embrace homosexuality and perform homosexual marriages.
The truth is that the God’s word tells us that the name of Jesus is an offense to those who perish. (See: Romans 9:33) And it is no surprise that Satan would try to coerce and/or force the church into acting in disobedience to God’s absolutes. After all, that is exactly what he did to Eve in the Garden.
As Christians we should not be surprised nor should we despair that these things are taking place. We should instead be resolute that we will declare the Name of Jesus and that we will tell others that He is risen. As the angel told the women who first arrived at His tomb that glorious morning: “He is not here, for He is risen.” And as they were told, we are to “go quickly and tell [others] that He is risen from the dead.” (Matthew 28:1-8)
Let us be obedient to these instructions. Let us boldly proclaim “He is risen” and that salvation is available only through faith and our belief in His sacrificial death on the cross that paid the price for our sins and His triumphant resurrection.

1 Corinthians 1:18 (KJV)
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Romans 1:16-17 (KJV)
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
