Questions the Saved Must Ask Themselves — Sunday Thought For The Day

As Christians, we should ask ourselves probing questions such as: “What is different about us since we accepted Christ as our Savior? Has our behavior changed, if so how and if not why? Have our interests become more Christ-centric, i.e., are we becoming more interested in reading and studying our bible and sharing our faith with others; are we finding that the word of God (the bible) is becoming the integral part of our lives; and are we finding that Christian fellowship and attending a Christ centered, bible preaching church is of paramount importance?

Does our family, our friends, our co-workers see something different about us; not based upon what we say or even claim, but because of the way we now live our lives? Not by living in a legalistic and hypercritical way, and not with a falsity of pretentious platitudes, words and phrases that are props used to pretend we have changed?

When we accept Christ as our Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us and begins the process of growth in Christ that leads us in changed lives. As we grow in Christ we want to be more like Him; but first we must know Him in truth and that only comes from living lives consecrated to Christ. The Apostle Peter wrote: “Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:17-18 KJV)

We are either Christians committed to the Lord or we are Christian slackards who are carnal and satisfied to have what amounts to “fire protection” from the flames of hell.
