‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

We Must Believe – Sunday Thought For The Day

I recently had a conversation with a gentleman about salvation.  In the course of same, I asked him if he was a Christian?  He answered that he was.  I asked him how long he had been saved?  He responded: “All of my life – since I was born.”

I gently responded that he wasn’t saved at birth.  I told him that no one is saved at birth.  I continued by saying, if we were saved at birth or from the womb as it were; there would have been no need for Christ to die on the cross for our sins.  I explained that Jesus said: we must be born again to see the kingdom of God, i.e., to be saved.  I explained to him how to pray to accept Christ as his Savior and to be saved.

This gentleman by all outward appearance and demeanor was a genuinely nice person.  But, nice doesn’t make us saved.  He is not the first person I have met who has told me the same thing when I’ve asked, how long they have been saved.

It is important for us to understand that God’s word cannot lie.  It is important for us to understand and believe that God’s word is immutable, i.e., unchangeable.

There is one way and one way alone to be saved.  If we do not believe that then we do not believe God’s word.  If we do not believe God’s word, then we do not believe God.  We cannot say we don’t believe the bible, but we believe Jesus nor can we say we don’t believe Jesus, but we believe God’s word, the bible.  Every word in the holy scriptures written by men of God, guided by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is absolute truth.

Jesus said, we must be born again to see the kingdom of God.  There is no other way to be saved.  We cannot be saved by works or what we would consider good behavior.  We are not saved by self evaluation that leads us to believe we are good and thus worthy of Heaven.

My friends, let us not believe the great lie(s) of the enemy of our souls, that there is a way to be saved other than by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the Messiah.

John 3:16-21 (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
