The Time To Advance Is Now by Robert Socha
Texas has awarded its 40 electoral votes to Trump, formalizing his victory. During this holiday season, it is essential to remember that President Donald J. Trump is merely a man with incredible energy and charisma acting in the best interests of the people he intends to lead. He is not infallible. He is not a god nor the one true God. We reserve that position for the One who was and is and is to come, the One who was born of a virgin, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried, and rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures as the firstfruits of the resurrection of the dead to give us a future and a hope!
Nevertheless, President Trump is a political juggernaut whose ascendency on the political scene sent shockwaves worldwide with a deep desire to restore constitutional chains to the federal bureaucracy and the power to the people he has sworn to defend. Thwarted by the institutional machine whose deeply embedded mechanisms hindered his first term, he has brilliantly self-financed his transition team to avoid similar pitfalls. He has demonstrated he learns from his mistakes and takes deliberate action to recover from them. His second term has proven historic, and we are still over one month away from his inauguration.
Men like Zuckerberg and Bezos are trying to curry favor from the incoming administration through monetary donations. They hope he will look past their previous transgressions, which purposefully interfered with election integrity and political discussion during his first term and first reelection bid. Maybe it is true they had an epiphany like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, but the timing is highly suspect. Musk and Ramaswamy turned on the Leftist idealism when they had the most to lose and have deftly navigated tumultuous waters, emerging from the political tsunami their actions created more substantial and more poignant.
Leaders worldwide are backpedaling from their criticisms and exploitations of American largesse, from India’s threat to abandon the petrodollar to the Ukrainian President’s willingness to discuss terms to stop the terrible military industrial complex’s war, to reminding our continental neighbors that they are more dependent on us than we are on them and they should act accordingly.
For example, the threat of tariffs caused tremendous political tumult in Canada when their Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Chrystia Freeland, resigned hours before she was to deliver Canada’s Fall Economic Statement, updating on the country’s finances. The burden of socialism and acquiescence to global hegemony has proven too costly for the economy and people to bear; coupled with the crippling effect tariffs would compound, members of Parliament are demanding Trudeau’s resignation.
These bold and declarative moves will not go unchallenged. China and Russia are capable opponents looking to overtake the US in global leadership. The UN, targeting X (Twitter), is claiming relevance and demanding acquiescence to global consensus, even encouraging punishment for what they determine to be “disinformation, misinformation and hate speech.”
The time to advance is now. When the threat comes to silence those who speak the name of Jesus and whose Liberty intertwines with a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths must not rest on their laurels thinking the next four years are a respite and retreat but continue to boldly speak the Truth, question the science, and hold our elected officials accountable.
“And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your Word with all boldness.” Acts 4:29
