Austerity is never pleasant nor an easy path to take. It carries a terrible reckoning that requires severe and uncomfortable spending pattern changes that will hopefully alleviate financial strain and right a listing ship. If it is incumbent upon a household to cut its expenses and tighten its belt to avoid financial ruin, the same must be true for the state.

Two households are vying for power within our ranks, and the battle has spilled into the streets, leaving a plethora of devastation, confusion, and mostly the irascible nature of cutting waste. On the one hand, you have the House of DOGE, carrying a titanic wrecking ball whose violent swings have attacked the walls of fraud, waste, and abuse with effervescent swiftness, weakening the foundation of deep state entrenchment. On the other hand, you have the House of 1913, which was established in treachery, lies, and deception toward the common man, fighting tooth and nail to maintain its hegemony.

The House of DOGE has exposed a plethora of wasteful programs and departments, immediately halting their financial backing, sending ripple effects of terrible but necessary layoffs and downsizing with thousands of livelihoods wrecked in its wake. These unfortunate souls are real people, with lives built around a house of cards that has crumbled and shattered their superfluous reality. A painful reckoning that will take time to heal. The House of 1913, a behemoth whose sinews still shake the world when it swings its tail, is fighting back through targeted lawfare, using crooked judges appointed by DOGE’s opposition to curtail the House’s swift and deadly strikes. These powerful tools manipulating the public trust are a thorn in the side of DOGE’s cuts, struggling to maintain a semblance of power and unconstitutional authority bestowed by the legislative body.

The battle is fierce, and the daily disclosures continue to astound by their incredible largess and unfathomable spending patterns. The cutting, hacking, and slashing away of a deeply entrenched pattern is astounding in its revelation and effectiveness. The world wakes daily to another exposé that the deep state is reeling in the face of another exposing its nakedness. And the deep state responds vehemently, defending its untenable positions.

There is thy gold, worse poison to men’s souls,

Society is a third house in this account and has taken the dram that put Juliet to sleep, keeping her immobilized so she could not intercept her lover’s fatal ingestion. But she must arise before it’s too late and put the full measure of her passion pressing on the goads to encourage the transformative nature austerity brings, for we shall witness a rebirth of freedom if our collective will chooses to endure the hardship and pain.
