‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Do We Have An Unblameable Attitude? by “Brother Bill”

The Unblameable Attitude

Today we’re pointing at something deep in Scripture that Erika Kirk did after Charlie Kirk was assassinated; she forgave the murderer.  Forgiveness is not just releasing someone else, for that can be excusing; but forgiveness means also dying to self and living in the new man. Let me show this from the NKJV step by step:

Forgiveness is contagious after hearing Erika forgive the man who killed her husband a number of people learned to forgive. One of these people was Tim “the tool man” Taylor from television’s Home Improvement or Tim Allen, whose father was killed 60 years ago.  His father’s murder sent him on a path that included him spending time in jail. While the murderer Satan meant it for evil God used it for good as he became a top comedian with many television shows. His quick wit and self effacing humor appeals to us all.  So, who do you have to forgive to free you from a vengeance driven heart. After all Vengeance is mine says the lord, not me.

1. Forgive, as Christ Forgave

•   Colossians 3:13 (NKJV)

“…bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.”

Forgiveness isn’t optional—it’s a command tied to Christ’s example. Once we are forgiven by God through grace, we surrender the “right” to hold grudges or demand repayment.  In the Lord’s Prayer Jesus said forgive us our trespasses as we forgive our trespassers.

2. No Longer Rights, But Duties

•   Romans 6:6 (NKJV)

“…our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.”

The old man claims rights (“I deserve justice, I deserve recognition”), but the new man embraces duty (“I owe love, mercy, service”).

•   Romans 13:8 (NKJV)

“Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.”

The only true “right” we keep is the privilege to serve God by loving others.

3. Privileges of the New Man

•   John 1:12 (NKJV)

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”

Our old rights (vengeance, pride, self-defense in the flesh) are replaced with spiritual privileges—being God’s child, walking in His Spirit, inheriting His kingdom.

4. What the Old Man Sees as Bad, the New Man Sees as Opportunity

•   James 1:2-4 (NKJV)

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

•   Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

The old man sees offense, loss, or injustice.

The new man sees refining, growth, and opportunity to show Christ.

✅ Summary:

Forgiveness moves us from demanding rights to embracing duties (obedience), privileges (sonship), and opportunities (growth in trials). The old man sees problems; the new man sees God’s training ground.
