‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Is “Legal” Synonymous With “Right” – Sunday Thought For The Day

January 31, 2026

‘Brother Bill’ is a relatively new contributor to The Daily Rant.  His column appears every Thursday.  Recently he wrote a piece titled: When We Stopped Asking Is It Right and Started Asking Is It Legal?

Suffice it to say that ‘Brother Bill’s’ insightful article is a question for every Christian and church today.  The essence of the question has contributed to the downfall of many Christians as well as many churches today.

Many behaviors today are legal, but how many of them are right in the eyes of God, and according to His Holy Word?  Abortion is legal, as is sexual sin, specifically homosexuality and adultery.  But, those behaviors are far from right in the eyes of God.  How do churches that support such practices reconcile those legal acts, with what the Word of God says about them in Leviticus 20:10 (KJV)?  What about the churches that sanction the ordination of so-called clergy who openly practice same.  What about those persons who claim to be Christians and yet openly support and practice such behavior?  What about those who are involved in divination, i.e., fortune telling, those who follow astrological signs, etc.?

I’ve mentioned the most glaring examples of practicing that which is legal, but is far from right in the eyes of God.  However, the list of things which are legal, but are not right in the eyes of God, is almost to long to count.

If we are Christians we need to examine ourselves through the lens of scripture and see what things in our lives are legal, but not right with God.  I can tell you that I did.  And, I can tell you with confidence that I am certain ‘Brother Bill’ did before writing his article.

As I said, sexual sin, abortion, sodomy, adultery, incest, etc. are viewed as the horrible sins, but before God sin is sin.  In Leviticus 20:22-27 (KJV), God’s word is specific and unwavering.

My friends, God doesn’t sanction sin because we frame it as love or kindness or by our own definitions of what is okay in our minds.  His word is final and the thought of not taking it seriously should cause each and everyone of us to examine ourselves and see if we are right before God or simply legal before men.
