‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Change Hearts Not The World? – Sunday Thought For The Day

March 21, 2021

It can be said that much of the Christian Church in America today is little more than the stringed section for Satan’s marionette orchestra.

We give lip service to God, but the Word of God testifies against us.  People are more committed to politics than they are too God’s Word.  How many reading this spent more time last week reading political emails, emails about the flu, watching and listening to news/talk programs than they did the bible?  How many have had more conversations about politics than they’ve had about the imminent return of Christ?

Satan has convinced many who claim to be Christians that their first duty is to foolishly attempt to save a corrupt, reprobate, wicked, and evil political system that has no interest in the will of God.  Leading people to Christ, teaching people to live Godly righteous lives has been exchanged for a heretical social-gospel and humanism.  The enemy of our souls has successfully turned the minds and hearts of many Christians away from Christ to focus on those things that have no eternal value.  Christ is our example and nowhere in scripture does Jesus become involved in salvaging the political theater.  He changed the hearts and behavior of those individuals who believed on Him.

I say without fear of Biblical contradiction that nothing, not one thing, people are doing on the political scene has any eternal redeeming outcomes.  Therein has our enemy the devil, deceived many who in turn are leading others astray.  The fact that some may do so unintentionally notwithstanding – God still takes a dim view of those who lead others astray.

I ask you, what would be more beneficial in the time remaining before the return of Christ:   Reaching people with the message of salvation, preaching and teaching the Word of God in fact and truth, making disciples, and investing the resources that God has provided to further His kingdom or advancing godless social gospels and political causes?

As a born-again Christians and Christian ministers it should grieve us deeply that Satan has so easily and completely deceived many.  Christians should be as committed to living our lives for Christ and being about the work of the Lord, as we were where committed to sinful lives before we were saved.

Satan is a liar and a deceiver and he wants nothing more than for us to believe that disobedience to God’s Word has good outcomes.  He doesn’t want us to go to church or to faithfully read and study the Word of God.  Satan wants us to spend our time watching cable news.  He doesn’t want us to quote the bible; he wants us to quote godless men.  He wants us to lust after the world, not to come out from amongst it.

We need to be followers of Christ willing to stand and proclaim His truth.  We need men and women of God to do the work of the Lord, not the work of the devil.  But first we must know what the work of the Lord truly is.

John 8:39-47 (KJV)

39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
