‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Common Core Purposely Misleading Students About Second Amendment

April 9, 2014

On September 19, 2013, I wrote a Daily Rant titled “Common Core Part of Mao and Lenin Handbooks.” At that time, I wrote: “…when Marxist ideologues gather in the shadows. They discuss how to strip We the People of Constitutional rights based on their Marxist theorems. And that is exactly what has happened with the advent of the Common Core education curriculum.”

I wrote: “Most parents are unaware of the distortions, misinformation, and omissions in the textbooks being written by liberals today. As a matter of fact, most parents not only have no clue, but they have never even given thought to the accuracy of the books their children are being taught from…Common Core is a ruse to further entrench communism in America. Obama’s government has built on what Carter, Clinton, and Bush started. While people are running about distracted by things that will bear no fruit, the two greatest threats are on the doorstep of full implementation, i.e., obamacare and Common Core.”

Once again, I take no pride in being right in this instance. But right I was. Joe Wolverton, II, J.D. wrote: “One of the chief criticisms of the standards mandated as part of the Common Core education program is that it is…permissive of fundamental errors that affect the quality of education of students. … Such errors include those found in history textbooks approved by the Common Core State Standards Initiative – the official name of the scholastic standards copyrighted by the Washington, D.C.-based National Governors Association (NGA) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO).” (Common Core-approved Textbooks Rewrite Second Amendment; 4/5/14; TheNewAmerican.com)

Wolverton lists exactly what I told you would happen when I wrote “Common Core Part of Mao and Lenin Handbooks.” He points out that “Textbooks approved by Common Core for use by students studying for the Advanced Placement (AP) history exam, the Second Amendment is defined [as]: “The Second Amendment: The people have the right to keep and bear arms in a state militia.”

Another book approved by Common Core for use by history teachers preparing lessons on the Bill of Rights states: “The Second Amendment grant(s) citizens the right to bear arms as members of a militia of citizen-soldiers.” And yet another Common Core approved worksheet for history teachers preparing lessons on the Bill of Rights reads: “The Government of the United States is currently revisiting The Bill of Rights. They have determined that it is outdated and may not remain in its current form any longer.”

Even more egregious, Wolverton notes: “Regarding the Second Amendment, the authors of the book state: ‘This amendment states that people have the right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and they have not been in prison. The founding fathers included this amendment to prevent the United States from acting like the British who had tried to take weapons away from the colonists.’”

The utter fallaciousness of these statements speaks for itself. Common Core allows for inclusion of false information to be inculcated into children. Proponents argue there is an “absolute need” for Common Core standards because it is the only way to prepare students for careers and college.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the education of children was to be based on accurate information. I thought the very principle of teaching was to impart factual information to those being taught. Additionally, as I pointed out at the time, if the American standard of education was so bad before these self-proclaimed eruditionists came along, how did America become the preeminent and undisputed leader in the world in medicine, science, industry, engineering, and every other field of endeavor?

Reasonable minds would argue that America’s leadership in education began to diminish when Carter came up with the Department of Education, and it has gone steadily downhill since then. Now comes Common Core, which flagrantly teaches children outright lies as facts pursuant to history.

The question to ask is, why? Why intentionally teach children lies? Why purposefully misstate historical facts? The reason can be found in Lenin’s perspective: “Give me four years to teach children, and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” That’s the true goal of this leftist teaching agenda.

I can only share the truth. The rest is up to you. But know this — the intent doesn’t stop there; it is also an attempt to destroy private Christian schools and home schooling efforts. And they will do that by instituting standardized admissions tests on which the wrong answers, i.e., the lies about history as evidenced above, are acceptable. This will limit the colleges and universities children from private Christian schools and home schooling have available to them. In brief, Common Core is a Leninist effort by which the reasonable expectation of solid educational instruction is abrogated and replaced with fallacious historical teaching.

The question is What are you, the parents, going to do about it? My son is grown and a graduate of private Christian schools. His education is not in question. But what about your children and grandchildren?

Take action and share this!
