Common Sense
The following is from a dear and respected friend. I felt this portion was to informative not to share.
Dear Mychal,
Whenever anyone suggests to me that a government subsidy can be a good thing, I always ask them to name one which has been a success story. I have received the answer of the Apollo Program, and various military efforts to reach new effective weapons, with atomic weapons as the first, yet when those are considered, they only show that government can do what private corporations cannot, only because the government can set a goal of capital required, and then set about establishing the means of making it happen. That is the only thing which made reaching the moon a government project, or the reaching atomic weapons successful, and in truth, if the government were set to collect the capital necessary, but only private business did the work, I suspect it would have cost far less to reach the moon, and what is ignored with regard to the “Manhattan project” is that it was largely government money management, with corporate work being the biggest supplier of labor and ideas.
I look at such projects from the perspective of a man who makes things on a routine basis, inventing new ways to do old things a bit more effectively, or efficiently, and I see no place in my work where subsidy would change my success, because I already pursue the avenues my education tells me are the most likely avenues of success, and it is not a lack of money which impedes, but the fact that “we, America” have taken our technology to very close to its absolute limits within the constraints of current level physics, and all gains in the near future can’t be more than incremental, and the laws of thermodynamics prove this out, absolutely.
It took moving from Newtonian physics to quantum mechanics to get to atomic energy, and it took getting from Ben Franklin’s understanding of electricity and physics to get from steam engines, and simple direct physical energy, to Tesla’s and Edison’s understanding of electricity, physics and the knowledge they both had that particles were involved, to take both steam and nascent fuel engines into electric power allowing vast transmission of power, to bring us into the 20th century energy paradigm.
All of the “green technology” currently under study has been under study since the turn of the previous century. Fuel cells, electric cars, wind power, solar cells, all of these were discoveries of the late 1800s, and none has advanced beyond incremental advances since their inception, in spite of more than fifty years of subsidy for some, and close to seventy five on a few select.
I look at this, knowing scientists know well, we have to surpass another “leap forward” in our energy control before we will see anything but incremental improvement, and all intelligent politicians who understand the science, at least at a basic level, also know that just as it costs four bucks to make ethanol, which has half the BTUs of gas, and therefore can never be of any value as fuel unless we completely run out of oil and coal, yet it remains subsidized even as it distorts the fuels market, distorts the food markets, only those are distorted in a dozen ways, since it affects the feeding of animals as well as the growing of food, yet it remains strongly supported, and there is no real intent anywhere in public, to stop this travesty which has more than fifty years of evidence of failure.
I see obama deliberately transferring our money to such business precisely because it bankrupts us, while providing slush funding for political action. Every action he has taken with regard to economics, business, and government, has been on a line which has always proven to be failure and never been successful at any time, and this reads like full intent to me.
We should be seeing this as the exact antithesis of “the Republic” our founders established, and to counter where we have fully arrived at, we must go back completely, to the original form, the original plan, and this means re-establishing the Constitution as the Law over government, which currently recognizes no law as impacting its power, and so to return the law over government, we must elect a president who has that as his stated purpose.
As long as we live on a fiat currency, there is literally no hope for our Nation as it was, and no chance of ever getting spending under control, or even being actually accurately tabulated, and reported. Again, the only possible fix is to elect the one candidate who has proclaimed the absolute truth about the FED, fiat currency, and been consistent in demanding a return to real money.
If those two things are not done, it matters very little who is elected to any offices, as we will continue down the path to world government, made possible in the face of anger and deliberate intent to stop it, by the fact we can’t even control our own personal money, because it is not real, and we are helpless to counter it without charges of “counterfeiting”, a charge which should be removed from the laws, because it is pretty well impossible to counterfeit something as worthless as a paper dollar.
The entire economy of the world is in the hands of the banking cartels which go back to families more than five hundred years, and this is because all wealth actually produced since the world left real money and went fiat, has been confiscated by inflation, and as all fiat money must pass through banks to get anywhere at all, its value is skimmed every pass, and eventually we have our current situation where our money is now worth less than one percent of its established value, and to actually reinstate the dollar at its established value; 371 grains of silver, every aspect of our financial world would have to be over turned, and deflated by a factor of more than a hundred, and doing so would bring on the opportunity for vast stealing and good causes for many small wars, as well as halting monetary transactions for some time before things were settled.
