‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Divine Providence Has Led Us by Robert Socha

I declare we have an opportunity to regain some of those principles of self-government rooted in the Christian tradition. A ministry[i] I’ve been following for decades compiled the following list of Presidential quotes. When I read these powerful declarations, I am amazed that Divine Providence has led us thus far and His grace leads us still.

George Washington –

  • It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.
  • The propitious smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven itself has ordained.

John Adams –

  • We recognize no sovereign but God, no King but Jesus.
  • I consider the decent respect for Christianity among the best recommendations for public service.

Thomas Jefferson –

  • The reason that Christianity is the best friend of government is because Christianity is the only religion that changes the heart.

John Quincy Adams –

  • The Bible is the first and almost the only book deserving of universal attention.
  • My custom is to read four or five chapters of the Bible every morning, immediately after rising. It seems to me the most suitable manner beginning the day. It is an invaulable and inexhaustable mine of knowledge and virtue.
  • The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: It connected in one indissoluable bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.

John Madison –

  • We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind of self-government; upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.
  • The future and success of America is not in this Constitution, but in the laws of God upon which this Constitution is founded.

Abraham Lincoln –

  • But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!
  • I am profitably engaged in reading the Bible. Take all of this Book upon reason that you can and the balance upon faith, and you will live and die a better man.

Grover Cleveland –

  • All must admit that the reception of the teachings of Christ results in the purest patriotism, in the most scrupulous fidelity to public trust, and in the best type of citizenship.

James Monroe –

  • And to the same Divine Author of every good and perfect gift we are indebted for all those privileges and advantages, religious as well as civil, which are so richly enjoyed in this favored land.

Theodore Roosevelt –

  • A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education.

Calvin Coolidge –

  • The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that is would be difficult to support them if faith in there teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country.

Herbert Hoover –

  • The study of the Bible is a post-graduate course, the richest library of human experience.

John F. Kennedy

  • The rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God.

Ronald Reagan

  • One of the many influences that have shaped the United States into a distinctive nation and people, none may be more fundamental and enduring than the Bible.
  • If we ever forget that we are a nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.

Donald J. Trump –

  • Our Nation acknowledges that religious liberty is a natural right, given to us by our Creator, not a courtesy that government extends to us.

We have this amazing opportunity before us to move our country back toward its self-determination roots. With supreme reliance upon Divine Providence, let us take these statements by the men elected to hold the highest office in the Land and be our Nation’s spokesman, and run with them, acknowledging God, praying and declaring our Christian roots and principles, speaking boldly about truth without revision, and remembering that He governs the affairs of men.
