‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Don't eat the sausage

December 12, 2011

If you are regular reader of my nationally syndicated weekly column you are aware that my condemnation of the media is not limited to my daily rant which is an exclusive feature to my blog. There’s an old adage that if you saw sausage being made you wouldn’t eat it, or something to that effect. Specific to that point, I’ve seen the behind the scenes of how news is produced and I can tell you, that with very rare exception it is like seeing raw pork meat with maggots in it being turned into sausage. If the image of rancid, half-rotten, maggoty, raw meat conjures up a sickening image in you mind – multiply that times 100 and you have some sense of my contempt for those in the industry from which I derive a portion of my income.

Those in the media do not provide honest impartial accounts pursuant to what happened, who did it, where it happened, when it happened, and/or how or why it happened – rather the media believes it to be their job to engineer, i.e., shape the news in a way that destroys those they condemn, and/or either destroys or promotes those they are specifically told how to treat.

The media helped destroy Herman Cain’s presidential ambitions, because Herman was an outsider who threatened the corrupt bastions politicians benefit from at the expense of we the people – yet they promote losers and liars.

The media is compromised of those who have long sense forgotten what it is like in the real world, if they ever really knew. They don’t shop where we do, they don’t eat or travel as we do, they don’t associate or gather as we do. They are self-encapsulated bubble people or cabals if you will, who whore after those they aspire to be recognized by.

If they cover Washington and government, they whore after those who are popular in that environment. They do it with the understanding, that if they slant or show bias to a particular representative, candidate, or policy position they will be rewarded with interviews, and gratuitous treatment.

Program hosts boast that they have the brightest people appear on their shows to explain a topic and that they themselves discuss subjects with the best and brightest, so that makes them our superiors. In reality there are a lot of people in the real world who are just as sharp as the presumed eggheads they genuflect to.

The point that I am stressing yet again, is that the media is going to do its level best to effect the outcome of the presidential election. Having successfully corrupted the campaign of the only true Washington outsider, they will spin and manipulate opinion, and dialogue going forward. One example of the point I am making is the buzz about Gingrich saying he would appoint John Bolton Secretary of State.

Nothing personal against Bolton, but in my mind that is like Bush appointing Donald Rumsfeld Secretary of Defense. I admit that at first I thought it a good idea, based upon his earlier accomplishments, but it became clear that the geo-military world had changed and a better choice then Rumsfeld should have been made. Specific to that point, I have said and I am not dissuaded, that Gingrich would have made a great vice president on a Herman Cain ticket or a very good cabinet appointee in a Herman Cain administration. Because Gingrich without a strong individual whom he trusts and respects in charge, has shown a remarkable propensity to make bad decisions.

My reasons were also based on Gingrich being just more of the same thing we have come to expect from inside the beltway. But the media will not tell you that. The media will not tell you that the primary concern of the cable channels is to make money and that that is done by selling ad time and that most of the ad dollars come from corporations with unmistakably liberal views. The media, especially FoxNews, will not tell you that the majority of their program hosts are liberals or are willing to report whichever way the wind blows for the sake of ratings points. I suggest you recall what Fox did to Glenn Beck.

This is no time to go to sleep. I firmly believe it is a bad idea to lean exclusively on the televised media to form or shape your opinions. There is a long history of dishonest and manipulative reporting – ergo, you do so at your own risk.
