‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Four Bad Traits – Sunday Thought For The Day

October 23, 2021

Following are four behavioral traits that I have observed in persons walking in cloaked disobedience to God.  They may be perfunctory church attenders.  That is to say they go to church, but they either outright reject or willfully ignore biblical instruction.  We are told to examine ourselves to see if we be in the faith or not.  If we are repeatedly practicing one or more of the following traits with no sense of shame or conviction we are in spiritual trouble.

1) When people say their faith is personal and they keep it to themselves; more than likely that is because they do not have biblical faith and it is entirely possible that they are not saved. Saved people love to share their faith and they love to share about the Word of God.

2) When people say they’ve stop attending a truly Christ-centered church because it makes them feel to tense; that is an indication that they are living in sin and the Holy Spirit is convicting them. They are living in sin and resisting spirit-led reconciliation to the Lord. Both are bad positions to place oneself in.  It is also, often a sign of refusal to receive Godly instruction.
3) Those persons who claim a relationship with the Lord, but who would rather do anything else than attend church, and specifically a Christ-centered biblically-based Church are deceiving themselves.  Going to church Christmas Eve and once in a while on Easter is not the walk or behavior of a Christian.  It is however the behavior of someone playing Russian roulette with a fully loaded gun.  The only difference being that the game of Russian roulette they are playing is one that doesn’t have a chance of just being wounded and recovering.  In their game of Russian roulette, there is no chance of recovery if they refuse to accept Christ and repent.  There awaits them certain eternal damnation.
4) Persons who know they are not walking in obedience to the Lord, whose defiance harms their own families, but ignore Godly instruction and avoid church functions are only doing themselves harm.  Persons who love sports, cigarettes, and alcohol more than they do God, have selected those things as their god.  God Almighty, Our Creator and Father of those who are truly born-again is not their God.  If He were they would place Him first above sports and lusts of the flesh that they have permitted to control them.
I would be remiss if I did not say, persons who are enablers to those who are slaves to such behavior are themselves guilty of same.  I can tell you that the more I purpose to walk in obedience to Christ, the more I realize my need to be obedient to Him and how important it is that my desire is to be obedient.  If I do not have as my first and most important desire to embrace my Lord in obedience, then being used by Him is not my greatest desire.  Matthew 7:13-14  KJV are both comforting and cause for concern.

1 John 1:3-7 KJV
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
