‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Goliath Must Fall by RoseAnn Salanitri

Even many heathens who have never set foot in a church know about the young shepherd boy, David, that slew the Philistine giant, Goliath. In a day and age when our nation is fighting its own giants, we would be wise to pay attention to some of the details in the biblical account that may be relevant.

In 1 Samuel 17:3, we are told that the Philistines who were taunting Israel stood on one side of a valley and the Israelis stood on the other. Simply put, the land was divided with the Israelites on one side and their enemies on the other. Today our land is also divided and has its giants who want to conquer and destroy us, and as in days past, they taunt, threaten, and intimidate. While Philistines a/k/a Palestinians are still around doing what they have always done, others take other forms, i.e. the mainstream media, academic cabals, Democrats, and all George Soros and Bill Gates funded operations, as well as a myriad of globalist organizations. And like Goliath, their power in America must fall if this nation is to survive.

We would do well to remember that the children of the Most High God have faced many giants in the past. Sampson faced his – which once again were Philistines. Esther exposed Haman, who built hangmen’s towers for the Jews – towers that Haman and his co-conspirators fatefully hung from. And of course there was Daniel who faced hungry lions, and his three friends who were thrown into a furnace but survived. The list goes on and on.

Biblical history has more than its share of victors facing giants who miraculously fell. But perhaps the biblical giant that is most relevant to us today would be Sanballat. Sanballat was the nemesis of Nehemiah, who was called to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem after the Jews returned from Babylon. Although Nehemiah had the support of the king, the Jews had many enemies who did not want Jerusalem rebuilt. The most notable was Sanballat who exemplified the enemies who would stop the rebuilding of this nation today. Sanballat and his co-conspirators resorted to all kinds of tactical devises, including name-calling, intimidation, and assassination plans. Still, Nehemiah prevailed – but not without taking precautions. The threats were real, and he knew it. So, he instructed all the inhabitants to work together with one hand free to work and the other free to grab their swords that were attached to their garments. And the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt in a remarkable 52 days!

American history also can brag about George Washington who fought the world’s most intimidating giant of his time and won.

As awe inspiring as these cases may be, we would do well to concentrate on what they had in common if we are to slay our own giants. In 1 Samuel 17:45, David clearly declares to Goliath that he came in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel. Queen Esther notably understood that she was born for such a time as this, and Daniel and his friends would not bow down to earthly kings or their gods. And Nehemiah did not abandon his mission in the face of intimidation or threats. As for Washington, it can be well argued that he won his battles on his knees before engaging the enemy on the battlefield.

If our Goliath is to fall, our faith in God as the Lord of Hosts and the God of angel armies; our understanding of our position in history and our subsequent calling; our refusal to bow down and be intimidated by would-be kings, rulers and the media’s propaganda machine; and the time we are willing to spend on our knees will all be crucial weapons in our spiritual as well as political battle. For those who still cling to the notion that Christians shouldn’t be involved in politics, may I respectfully remind you that all of the battles mentioned above were as political as they were spiritual.

If you claim to be a Christian and a follower of Christ, it’s time to put on the full armor that has been set aside for you (see Ephesians 6:10-18), and then stand your ground – the ground given to us by Almighty God. Nothing less is required of you. Remember that in Revelation 21:8, we are told that cowards are the first to be thrown into the lake that burns with fire and brimstone. Belief in God alone will not ingratiate you with Him, for even the demons believe and tremble. In 2020 our Goliath stood before all to see. First through mocking the man sent to lead us and rebuild our nation, then through intimidation and the sham of impeachment, and now through stealing our nation by corrupting our sovereign right to choose our representatives. And this mocking and conniving giant – like his predecessors – must fall. If he doesn’t, this constitutional republic will soon be replaced by a banana republic owned and operated by smooth-talking globalist thieves and liars – never again to be seen on the world stage. To be sure, there is more at stake than who our next president will be. The very heart and soul of America lies in the balance. At one time in history our battle cry was “No King but Jesus. No sovereign by God.” It’s time to return to our ancient roots and engage the enemy of our souls. But like those in the days of Nehemiah, we must do it while armed. For us that means putting on the full armor of God as detailed in Ephesians 6:10-18. Make no mistake about it. This is war and all of God’s children will either choose whether or not to be a warrior or a victim. God is watching. May He count you worthy of the title “Christian.”
