‘I Feel the Presence of The Lord’

"I Feel The Presence of The Lord" is a personal collection of devotions intended to encourage the reader to seek and see the Lord in every aspect of their life.
The enemy of our souls would have us subscribe to the mentality of being endlessly busy, and therefore it being excusable to relegate God to a Sunday morning church service, if that. Thus, many in our churches today are powerless Christians and/or Christians in whom faith and fellowship with God is sorely wanting.
I Feel The Presence of The Lord is not just a book to be read as part of our daily devotions. It is a collection of thoughts and instructions to inspire the reader to meditate upon the Lord and His Word.

Gun-Owners/Enthusiasts Cannot Drop Their Guard

August 9, 2012

A few people have commented to me that they are reluctant to believe Obama will be successful in taking away our Constitutional right to own and bear arms. Let me be as succinct as possible in saying–don’t be over confident.

I preface my thoughts by pointing out that I heard similar comments back in 2001 when I said the government would ultimately be denying our right to worship and the preacher’s authority to preach the Word of God as it pertains to homosexuality. But, within the last several days we have witnessed a Christian in California being sentenced to prison for holding bible studies in his home.

Pastors in Canada have come under attack for supposedly using hate speech for biblical preaching against homosexuality. And churches in the U.S. have had to fight court battles because they have refused to allow homosexuals to be married on their properties. Virtually any pejorative can be used and aberrant forms of debauchery can be used publicly–but children cannot give thanks for their food in public school cafeterias even as homosexuality can be acted out in same.

So to think that our Constitutional right to own and bear arms will never be taken away is borderline Pollyanna, in my opinion. For the record, teaching about the virtues of homosexuality is being forced upon public school children starting in kindergarten, didn’t happen overnight. The so-called “choice” of a woman to murder her unborn child wasn’t codified in the first attempt to do so, either.

Both of these condemnable practices took decades to accomplish, but the perverse and debaucherous are nothing if not persistent. And after decades-long battles, they have persevered to the point we witness today. Legal, Constitutional referendums against homosexual marriage have been overturned by renegade courts. So, do not believe our Second Amendment rights cannot be taken away–and done without changing the Constitution.

Obama is as committed to taking away our right to own, carry, and enjoy guns as he is committed to raising taxes and class warfare. In fact, in a perverse way, it can be argued that Satan is no more committed to seeing people burn in hell than Obama is to taking away our guns. Taking away guns is utmost on the agenda of Marxist-Leninists like him.

Obama plans to hold a summit to discuss how to prevent gun crimes in the wake of the latest mass shooting at the Sikh Temple in Wisconsin. It will be comprised of politicians, police, etc.–but you and I will not have a seat at the table.

And it is important to note that Obama has announced his plans to convene said summit with the idea in the minds of those attending that guns are the problem, not that criminals are the problem. Ergo, the format for the summit is prejudiced and flawed from the outset.

Hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent defend our God-given right to smoke because we have been told that smoking is a health hazard, while homosexuality is being promoted. Except for essayists and activists such as myself, you will never hear of the health costs associated with the deviant sexual practices of homosexuals.

I reference this, because it is necessary to point out, if we think Obama and his minions cannot prevail in denying our gun rights. Obama has been adamant his entire adult life pursuant to robbing us of our right to own and bear guns. His wife has been quoted telling small secretive groups that her husband has plans to end gun ownership.

We cannot succumb to the deceitful bromide that hunters do not need automatic weapons and assault weapons. That is a specious argument. First of all, not all of us hunt, and second, assault weapons are not to be confused with fully automatic weapons. That said, the easiest way to get an automatic assault weapon would be by being a Mexican drug cartel member who has contacts in the Obama administration via Fast and Furious, but I digress.

Gun owners are an eclectic group: some are enthusiasts, some are collectors, some want a gun for protection only, and some for hunting only. But we cannot be pigeonholed into one category based on the catholicity of anti-Second Amendment ignorance.

I remember saying that restrictions on where, when, and how I could use my cell phone would never happen. I was wrong. The people who argued that the government would never attack the church were wrong. Those who couldn’t imagine homosexual marriage and the public display of same were wrong. And I’m telling you, if we sit back–do nothing and/or leave the battle for our Constitutional right to own and bear arms to gun groups and politicians we will rue the day.

We must be hands-on involved, and we must vet candidates who are supportive of our rights. The majority of Americans cannot remotely understand how dishonest and deceitful politicians are and how determined anti-gun groups are. You can disagree with me at your own peril.
