Healing Hope – Sunday Thought For The Day

Is your life in the middle of a dirt storm?  Has everything that you valued and took pride in been turned into something soiled and decayed; painful to look at or consider – at best, and hated to look at and/or consider at worst?  Is that which you valued, took pride in and cherished above all, at this moment tarnished and the cause of pain?

You can add whatever factor for your suffering, pain, depression, angst, etc. you want; but, if you are feeling dispirited, asphyxiated by the pain of betrayal and/or abandonment; if tears, sorrow, anger and bitterness are your lonely companions, there’s a “Remedy.”

It has been my experience, that with rare exception, the suffering I’m referencing could have been avoided, if one or the other spouse or both spouse’s had been obedient to God’s Word.

Disobedience almost without fail brings about personal calamity and pain.  It’s the degree of the calamity and pain that varies.  It’s most agonizing when we fail to realize we brought it upon ourselves, because we refused to heed instruction.

Satan and/or his demon emissaries are waiting to deliver the final crushing blows that will separate us from “Truth.”  But, there remains help and most importantly there remains “Hope.”  That “Hope” is Jesus Christ.  When darkness covers the world of your life – the truth of Christ will redeem your life and salvage you from the darkness of despair you reside in emotionally.

As I conclude, let me make clear, sometimes what appears to be life caving in around and on top of us, is actually God’s way of getting our attention.  It’s the “Hound of Heaven, i.e., the Holy Spirit,” attempting to remind us of our need for Christ.

Whichever be the case, the decision to wallow in defeat or turn to Christ is yours.  There’s no failure that God will not restore us from save “blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.”  If your life is a shattered mess right now, you can turn to Christ.  You can confess to God your part in bringing pain to your family and yourself.  You receive forgiveness and restoration through Christ Jesus or you can continue on the path you’re following to the complete destruction of yourself and your family.

Satan and his demonic emissaries desire to take the final steps in destroying your life and the lives of those around you.  Christ awaits to forgive and heal you spiritually and make you whole in Him again or at last.  Either way, Christ awaits to heal and conform us to Himself, while Satan and his emissaries vengefully await to destroy.

This is my message to families this Father’s Day.  It’s my message to those families who ignored advice and warning.  This is my Father’s Day message to those men and women who chose disobedience over Christ, and had it lead to the destruction of their family, be it through adultery or by allowing sin to encamp in your home.

This Father’s Day, my message to you is: there remains “Hope;” if you honestly want it.  It begins with confession that leads to acceptance and repentance.  I should also point out that everything can look picture perfect to the outside world and my experience is that in many instances it does; but even tombs look nice from the outside; it’s the inside that’s filled with rotted flesh and dead men’s bones.

This Father’s Day I challenge father’s and mother’s who have allowed disobedience and/or participated in disobedience that has had damning effects on their family, to remember that Jesus Christ heals the broken.
